Das mit Vodafone wird langsam vergngungssteuerpflichtig.Nachdem ... "IndyWatch Feed Europe"

Be...

Meine Gte.

The USA Needs a Peace President "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

Most people agree that we are closer to nuclear war than at any time since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Some would even argue that we are closer now than we were in those fateful days, when Soviet missiles in Cuba almost triggered a nuclear war between the US and the USSR. In those days []

No Matter How You Frame It, the ADL is a Racist Organization "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

The Biden administration has released the countrys first national strategy for combating antisemitism, a landmark plan aimed at addressing a growing problem. This is from a piece in NPR titled, The first national strategy for fighting antisemitism is finally here. Whats in it? Spoiler alert: it is not about fighting antisemitism or any other sort of racism; it is a strategy to silence Palestinian voices in the U.S. in the service of Israel.

The article starts with an outline of the Biden administrations commitment to fighting Antisemitism. It then quotes the president, who referred to the plan as the most ambitious and comprehensive U.S. government-led effort to fight antisemitism in American history.

But then, about four short paragraphs into the piece, it becomes clear that a large part of the data regarding antisemitism in the United States is coming from the Anti-Defamation League or ADL.

dedicated to racism preaching on antisemitism

The Anti-Defamation League is a dedicated Zionist, anti-Palestinian organization that has support for Israel as a declared part of its mission. A page on the groups website demonstrates that what began in the early twentieth century as a gutsy civil rights network dedicated to combating racism has morphed into a racist organization committed to Zionism and the state of Israel.

The following are a few choice examples of accomplishments the organization highlights on this very page:

1970s

The agency exposes and takes the lead in combating the Arab boycott of companies that do business with Israel.

ADL exposes Palestinian Liberation Organization and Arab links to terrorism and highlights the hypocrisy of a United Nations General Assembly resolution equating Zionism with racism.

2000s

The World Conference Against Racism, a U.N.-sanctioned conference held in Durban, South Africa in 2001, turns into an anti-Israel and antisemitic hate fest. ADL convinces the U.S. government and others to withdraw in protest.

ADL exposes the inherent antisemitism in Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimers published accusations that an Israel lobby is forcing the U.S. government to adopt policies that are counter to American interests. ADL further renounces similar accusations in former President Jimmy Carters book Palestine: Peace not Apartheid.

Semiconductor Lasers Hit Steel-Slicing Levels "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Semiconductor lasers, unlike bulky gas lasers and fiber lasers, are tiny, energy efficient, and highly controllable. The one thing they cant do is deliver their competitors steel-slicing brightness.

In results reported last week in Nature, a group of researchers at Kyoto University, led by IEEE Fellow Susumu Noda, has taken a big step in overcoming the limitations of semiconductor laser brightness by changing the structure of photonic-crystal surface-emitting lasers (PCSELs). A photonic crystal is composed of a semiconductor sheet punched through with regular, nanometer-scale air-filled holes. Photonic crystal lasers are attractive candidates for high-brightness lasers, but until now engineers havent been able to scale them up to deliver beams bright enough for practical metal cutting and processing.

(Brightness is a figure of merit that encompasses a lasers output power and beam quality and encapsulates how well a beam of light can be focused or how little it diverges. The threshold for metal work is about 1 gigawatt per square centimeter per steradian.)

Nodas group, which has been working on PCSELs for more than two decades, was able to develop a laser with a diameter of 3 millimeters, a 10-fold areal jump up from previous 1-millimeter-diameter PCSEL devices. The new laser has a power output of 50 watts, a similar increase from the 5 to 10 W power output of the 1 mm PCSELs. The new lasers brightness, about 1 GW/cm2/str, is now high enough for applications currently dominated by bulky gas l...

EU preparing $55 billion bailout for Kiev Bloomberg "IndyWatch Feed War"

RT | June 20, 2023

The European Commission wants member states to cough up 50 billion ($55 billion) to bankroll the Ukrainian government, so it can pay wages and pensions, and commence reconstruction projects, sources cited by Bloomberg have said.

The terms of the proposed bailout are subject to change pending an official announcement on Tuesday, the outlet reported on Tuesday. The package will be financed by direct contributions from member states, as opposed to borrowing from the market.

The aid will be provided in the form of grants, concessional loans and guarantees rather than some burdensome reconstruction instrument, the outlet said, adding that the money would be provided between 2024 and 2027.

The Ukrainian budget has been receiving cash injections from Western sponsors to keep it running. Washington and its allies have pledged to help Kiev for as long as it takes to defeat Russia, including through the provision of non-military support.

The US alone provided $26.4 billion in budgetary aid between January 2022 and February 2023, according to the Council on Foreign Relations think tank. The aid package announced by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) on February 24 was worth $9.9 billion.

Critics of the policy have claimed Ukraine has a lengthy record of grafting and argued that the money could have been spent by Western nations at home to solve their own immediate problems. Bloomberg sources suggested that the EU funding would be made conditional on Kiev delivering reforms to improve the rule of law and address corruption.

According to Reuters, the European Commission is set to publish a report this week about Kievs effort, which will state that it has met two of the seven conditions to start membership negotiations. The milestones reportedly relate to judicial reform and media regulation.

A Bike Ride That Cost a Pinky Finger "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Grant Hamilton, shortly after losing his pinky finger in a crash where a vehicle struck his bike. (Source: Grant Hamilton.)

On a summer evening, as the sun dipped past the horizon, Grant Hamilton and his wife biked a few blocks home from a family birthday party. What started out as a normal, happy day, transformed into a night that changed the trajectory of Hamiltons life. As he entered a familiar intersection, thinking it was safe, a car made an unexpected turn and struck him.

I tried to swerve, I tried to brake and get out of the way and it just didnt happen, said Hamilton. I remember the car hitting me and sort of twisting my wheel around. He then tumbled over the hood and fell back to the ground. In the chaos, he lost his pinky finger and suffered numerous minor injuries. While the event was no less than traumatic, Hamilton doesnt blame the driver or himself for the crash. Instead, he's advocating for safer streets in his town of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada.

I don't think it's necessarily [the driver's] fault, said Hamilton. For whatever reason, he didn't see me there. And he thought he was safe turning. We both felt safe entering that intersection and in the end, it wasn't safe. So there's some underlying thing there that is not my fault and not his fault. I think that maybe there is a deeper cause to this.

Hamilton said people in the community were curious about the crash, and what caused it. When the police report released that the driver was unlicensed, it made the reason for the crash seem clear: reckless driving. But Hamilton felt that didnt encapsulate the whole story, so he...

EPA Sued for Approving Toxic Herbicides With Agent Orange Chemical "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is being sued for unlawfully reapproving toxic herbicides used to grow food that contain 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), an active ingredient used in the chemical weapon Agent Orange.

The Center for Food Safety (CFS), Pesticide Action Network North America (PANNA) and Alianza Nacional De Campesinas, Inc., are suing the EPA for approving Enlist One and Enlist Duo, both of which contain 2,4-D and are sprayed on soybeans, corn and cotton that have genetically engineered (GE) resistance to the herbicides, Food Safety Magazine reported.

EPA unlawfully ignored the environmental and public health risks of Enlist herbicides, said Kristina Sinclair, CFS attorney and counsel for the plaintiffs, in a press release from the Center for Food Safety. And by failing to address Enlists adverse effects, EPA is jeopardizing hundreds of endangered species across the country.

The EPA was aware that renewing the registrations of Enlist herbicides in January of 2022 would cause harm to wildlife and rural communities, according to the lawsuit, by significantly increasing the amount of glyphosate and 2,4-D in the environment, polluting waterways, damaging crops and...

Ukrainian Officials Increasingly Not Returning From Abroad Russian Intelligence "IndyWatch Feed War"

Sputnik 20.06.2023

The trend of non-return to Kiev of representatives of the Ukrainian interior, foreign and defense ministries and special services, who are completing long-term business trips abroad, is gaining momentum, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said on Tuesday.

Along with the mass exodus of the working age population from Ukraine, the trend towards non-return to Kiev of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, special services and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is gaining momentum, the SVR said in a statement.

This is what many employees of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions accredited in the EU countries do. After completing a long-term business trip, they remain in the host countries, changing their diplomatic status to refugee status, the SVR said, adding that employees of foreign missions of Ukraine in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region do the same.

Additionally, the SVR said that mop-ups are underway in the foreign institutions of Ukraine as Kiev seeks to identify disloyal employees and ensure their early return to their homeland.

EV Chargers for All! "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

When IEEE Spectrums Editor in Chief Harry Goldstein needed to replace his 2008 Honda Fit in October 2020, he thought seriously about buying an electric vehicle. Two obstacles stood in his way. One was affordability. Even without a son soon to be entering college, the premium prices of EVs were a turn-off.

The other challenge was where to charge the EV. Harrys 200-unit condominium building in Minneapolis, Minnesota does not have any EV chargers in its 5-story indoor parking garage. There were two Level 2 charging stations about six-blocks away in a grocery store parking lot, but that was not a convenient or reliable option.

Harry decided to forego buying an EV but remains open to purchasing one if both the affordability and charging issues are better addressed.

I asked about installing charging stations in our garage and was invited to bring the issue up before the HOA (homeowners association) board, where all good ideas go to die, he said. They rejected my request to allow cyclists to hose off their bikes in the alley behind the building, which cost nothing. Considering the costs associated with installation and maintenance and anticipating the resistance Im likely to encounter, I decided to put my charger crusade on hold.

Harry is not alone in his EV hesitationit is widely shared by other condo owners and, even more importantly in terms of sheer numbers, renters. Consumer surveys from J.D. Power, for instance, indicate that while 27% of potential car shoppers are very likely to consider an EV as their next purchase, only 17% of renters indicate the same level of interest.

The transition to EVs in the U.S. will hit a deep pothole unless the more than one-third of the 124 million households that rent can be convinced to purchase an EV.

And if they make an EV purchase, they often regret it. For instance, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune...

Punched Cards Are In The Cloud, With This Arduino "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Grizzled veterans of the computing industry will relate stories of submitting projects on stacks of punched cards, something those of us who stored their 8-bit works on audio cassettes could only imagine. But for those who fancy experimenting with the format its still possible to make a basic card reader using LEDs and light sensors, as [Nino Ivanov] has done using an Arduino Uno as the brains. And these arent just for show, each of his cards holds a LISP program that runs in a cloud service.

The Uno does the job of reading, passing its data over its USB serial port to a tablet. On the tablet the serial data is piped to a cloud API to a LISP interpreter. It seems a needlessly complex way to run a factorial program and its certainly a little over the top, but on the other hand we love it as a glorious combination of the old and the new. With only 23 characters per card its quite an impressive feat to even fit a program on the format, perhaps writing code to fit on minimalist punched cards like this could become a programming challenge in its own right for a generation accustomed to mega-and gigabytes.

If you fancy a go yourself, this isnt the first punched card reader weve shown you...

"The World Wakes up Voices in Your Head. There Are Many Such Voices so... There Are Many Kinds of Crazy..." "IndyWatch Feed World"

 God Poet Transmitting.......

You can go crazy in two different ways. The experts will tell you there is more than that, but... most of the others are sub-groupings of the main crazy that is brought about through a bad reaction to Materialism. It's a rash you can't see that can be scratched in all kinds of ways.

You go crazy because The World makes you crazy or you go mad seeking God. All the weird little tics and disturbances of The Mind... that cause a personality to get bent out of shape... are caused by adjusting to what The World demands of you. The World wakes up voices in your head. There are many such voices so... there are many kinds of crazy. The more you listen to these voices... the more insistent they become.

There is a crazy that comes from fitting in too well, and another crazy that comes from not being able to fit in at all. Every form and kind of wanting that The World creates an attraction for... generates an insanity that... through repetition... becomes pathological and chronic.

The deeper into Materialism you go... the more real it becomes... even though it is nothing more than a veil of shifting appearances, which... your sense of time gives weight to; were it not for time... you would see it in the time-lapse sequencing of endless coming to flower and going to seed... over and over again.

The bandwidth of the physical sense locks you into the theater of your dreaming... that part of the amusement park where your particular dreams are assigned... based on the nature of your wanting. You go from squalling... to whining... cheering... and weeping, to gasping for breath in what seems like no time at all.

How do you break The Spell?

Madness is a seashell beyond the sea's kiss... if the sea is Materialism.

If you are a true mystic or lover of God... Madness is a fundamental requirement. Otherwise... you would never bear the unavoidable phenomena that occur as you traverse Yesod. That is the primary inescapable next step from The World of vin ordinaire... The Vale of The Moon; the lower and upper reaches.

The Sun flows directly into it from above. You must negotiate the lower chambers where the great dangers of illusion and delusion lie... all the snares of The Lower Astral... and then... the subtle bindings and attractions of the...

Solar Resilience in a Puerto Rican Town "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

For two weeks after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico in 2017, Lucys Pizza was the only restaurant open in the central mountain town of Adjuntas. The towns 18,000 residents, like those on the rest of the island, were entirely without electricity.

No one has power, you cant get gas, its difficult to make food, so everyone came here to eat, said owner Gustavo Irizarry. The line, he gestured down the block along the towns central plaza, endless.

Using a diesel generator, Lucys was running at about 75 percent capacity. The generator was loud, smelly, and expensive to run Irizarry spent $15,000 on diesel in the six months the grid was down. He was often up in the middle of the night to restart the generator because of the risk of losing power to the refrigerators. He didnt want ingredients to spoil.

Now, nearly six years later, Irizarry is poised to generate his own energy from the sun. Hes one of 14 merchants in downtown Adjuntas who have invested in the islands first community-owned solar microgrids expected to go live before this summer.

After Maria, we saw the vulnerability and the necessity to have an electric system that truly works, Irizarry said. To have better, alternative power, to be able to live.

The microgrid project is the latest effort in a grassroots movement to build energy security in Puerto Rico in the form of solar power.  Across the island, groups like Casa Pueblo, which first opened in Adjuntas more than 40 years ago, have relied on deep roots in the community to create local buy-in and make it an equitable transition.

The microgrid is a major step in taking Puerto Rico from the vulnerability of the centralized fossil fuel system to the aspiration that I think we share in Puerto Rico, said Arturo Massol Dey, associate director of Casa Pueblo. To use [renewable] fuels and generate power at the point of consumption, where its needed.

Microgrids power small networks of buildings with energy thats generated close to where its used, often wind or solar. The systems are typically connected to a centr...

Bob Kahn on the Birth of Inter-networking "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

IEEE Spectrum recently published a profile of Vint Cerf, who together with Bob Kahn developed what later became known as TCP/IP, the suite of protocols that power the Internet. That article didnt detail the events leading up to their influential technical collaboration, though. So IEEE Spectrum talked with Kahn to learn this part of the story and his conception of open-architecture networking.

Maybe we could start at the beginning of your professional career after you got your Ph.D. You started at BBN [Bolt, Beranek, and Newman], right?

Bob Kahn: I got my Ph.D. from Princeton in 1964 and took a job as an assistant professor at MIT in the electrical engineering department. I was there for a few years. In late 1966, I took a leave of absence (which I thought would be only for a year or two) to get some practical experience. I went to BBN. I started working on networking and ended up not going back to academia.

1966 was at the start of the conception of the ARPANET [the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network], was it not?

Kahn: Close. When I started working on computer networking, I had heard of ARPA, but I had never worked with them. I didnt know what they did. And I didnt even know that they were interested in networking at the time. As far as I was concerned, computer networking was just an idea that I thought was really interesting, especially the communication-network aspects. But there had been other people who had been interested in computer networking well before that.

There was a series of reports that Paul Baran wrote at the Rand Corporation on distributed communications. He was proposing that there be some kind of a network based on the use of discrete addressed message blocks, as he called themthe term packet hadnt been introduced yet.

At around the same time, Len (Leonard) Kleinrock was doi...

Merrick Garlands Legacy: Americas Worst Ever Attorney General "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

The Utter Failure of Merrick Garland

American constitutional law scholar Jonathan Turley writes

Below is my column in The Hill on Attorney General Merrick Garland at the midpoint of his tenure at the Justice Department. For an Attorney General who said that he wanted to restore the trust of the public in his department, Garland has manifestly failed to achieve his goal. It appears that the Justice Department and FBI are now trusted less than under his predecessor, Bill Barr. A new poll shows that 55 percent of the public view the Trump indictment as politically motivated and 56%  believe that it constitutes election interference.  A similar majority wanted Trump pardoned if convicted.

Here is the column:

Merrick Garland began his tenure as attorney general with the stated intention of restoring faith in the Justice Department and the rule of law. By that standard, Garland has been a failure.

In fact, if anything, the crisis of faith surrounding his department has only deepened on his watch, and he bears some of the blame.

Polls show that half the country distrusts the FBI. A recent poll by Harvard CAPS-Harris found that 70 percent are either very or somewhat concerned about election interference by the FBI and other intelligence agencies. An additional 71 percent agreed that changes post-2016 had not done enough to prevent further interference and that wide-ranging reform was still required. Another poll showed 64 percent view the FBI as politically compromised.

During the term of his predecessor, Bill Barr, 50 percent of the public viewed the department favorably, and 70 pe...

Hunter Biden Shows How a Connected, Wealthy White Man Avoids Prison "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Hunter Biden and federal prosecutors have reached an agreement that would keep the presidents son out of prison if he pleads guilty to two minor tax crimes and admits to lying about his drug use on an application to purchase a gun.

As counterintuitive as that may sound, this is probably good news for Joe Biden. Hunter wont serve time in prison (although who knows what he will do during the two years of probation that is part of the deal), and he can show that even the son of a president is not above the law.

It always seemed unlikely that Hunter Biden would not escape punishment in the case. First of all, he admitted in his autobiography that he was using crack cocaine at a time when he falsely claimed that he was drug-free on the paperwork for a gun purchase. For that lie, he will be forced to be entered in a

Furthermore, there really isnt a ton of evidence required for charging someone with failing to pay federal income tax. They either did or they didnt, and it appears that Hunter Biden did not do so in 2017 and 2018.

Finally, the optics would have been too bad if he had been allowed to go without punishment.

Considering all of that, and the fact that it is happening long before the 2024 presidential campaign kicks into high gear, this is probably a best-case-scenario for President Biden as long as he doesnt pardon his son and as long as Hunter Biden doesnt do anything stupid.

What is striking about this deal are the similarities (or lack thereof) to this months indictment of former President Donald Trump.

It seems very clear that the Department of Justice (DOJ) does not want to put well-connected, wealthy white men in prison especially not if that has political implications.

The difference is that Hunter Biden was smart enough to take a deal while Trump was too stupid to do so, even though his lawyers reportedly tried to broker a deal.

The former president could have just returned the classified documents he has been charged with illegally retaining, and everything would have been fine.

There is another parallel between Trump, who is no stranger to tax evasion, and Hunter Biden. Both made incriminating statements that is complicating their legal situation, Biden once in his autobiography, and Trump constantly on social media and TV.

And even though the former president could have avoided legal trouble in the documents case, he and his supporters will characterize this deal as further evidence that there is a two-tiered system of justice.

Hunter Biden pleading guilty to a gun charge and misdemeanor tax charges with no jail time is a stunt to make him look like he is just cooperating with the DOJ,...

Federal Register :: New Source Performance Standards for Greenhouse Gas Emissions From New, Modified, and Reconstructed Fossil Fuel-Fired Electric Generating Units; Emission Guidelines for Greenhouse Gas Emissions From Existing Fossil Fuel-Fired Electric Generating Units; and Repeal of the Affordable Clean Energy Rule

SUMMARY: In this document, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing five separate actions under section 111 of the Clean Air Act (CAA) addressing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from fossil fuel-fired electric generating units (EGUs). The EPA is proposing revised new source performance standards (NSPS), first for GHG emissions from new fossil fuel-fired stationary combustion turbine EGUs and second for GHG emissions from fossil fuel-fired steam generating units that undertake a large modification, based upon the 8-year review required by the CAA. Third, the EPA is proposing emission guidelines for GHG emissions from existing fossil fuel-fired steam generating EGUs, which include both coal-fired and oil/gas-fired steam generating EGUs. Fourth, the EPA is proposing emission guidelines for GHG emissions from the largest, most frequently operated existing stationary combustion turbines and is soliciting comment on approaches for emission guidelines for GHG emissions for the remainder of the existing combustion turbine category. Finally, the EPA is proposing to repeal the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule.

Abundant Phosphorus in Enceladus Ocean Increases Habitability: But is Enceladus Inhabited? "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Abundant Phosphorus in Enceladus Ocean Increases Habitability: But is Enceladus Inhabited?

Finding the right conditions for life off the Earth justifiably drives many a researchers work, but nailing down just what might make the environment beneath an icy moons surface benign isnt easy. The recent wave of speculation about Enceladus revolves around the discovery of phosphorus, a key ingredient for the kind of life we are familiar with. But Alex Tolley speculates in the essay below that we really dont have a handle on what this discovery means. Theres a long way between habitable and inhabited, and many data points remain to be analyzed, most of which we have yet to collect. Can we gain the knowledge we need from a future Enceladus plume mission?

by Alex Tolley

There has been abundant speculation about the possibility of life in the subsurface oceans of icy moons. Europas oceans with possible hydrothermal vents mimicking Earths abyssal oceans and the probable site of the origin of life, caught our attention now that Mars has no extant surface life. Arthur C Clarke had long suggested Europa as an inhabited moon in his novel 2010: Odyssey Two. (1982). While Europas hot vents are still speculative based on interpretations of the surface features of its icy crust, Saturns moon, Enceladus, showed visible aqueous plumes at the southern pole. These plumes ejected material that contributes to the E-Ring around Saturn as shown below.

While most searches for evidence for life focus on organic material, it has been noted that of the necessary elements for terrestrial life, Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Sulfur, and Phosphorus (CHONSP), phosphorus is the least abundant cosmically. Phosphorus is a key component in terrestrial life, from energy management (ATP-ADP cycle) and information molecules DNA, and RNA, with their phosphorylated sugar backbones.

If phosphorus is absent, terrestrial biology cannot exist. Phosphorus is often the limiting factor for biomass on Earth, In freshwater environments phosphorus is the limiting nutrient [1]. Typically, algae require about 10x as much nitrogen as phosphorus. If the amount of available nitrogen is increased, th...

Cottonization: Making Hemp and Flax Fibers Into The Better Cotton "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

These days its hard to imagine that fabrics were ever made out of anything other than cotton or synthetic fibers, yet it wasnt too long ago that hemp and flax-based fabrics linen were the rule rather than the exception. Cotton production has for centuries had the major disadvantages of requiring a lot of water and pesticides, and harvesting the cotton was very labor-intensive, making cotton rather expensive. In order to make separating the cotton fibers from the seed easier, improved versions of the cotton gin (cotton engine) were developed, with the 19th centurys industrial revolution enabling a fully automated version.

What makes cotton attractive is the ease of processing these fibers, which are part of the seed pod. These fibers are 25 mm 60 mm long, 12 m 45 m fine fibers that can be pulled off the seeds and spun into yarn or whatever else is needed for the final product, much like wool. Hemp and flax fibers, in contrast, are extracted from the plant stem in the form of bast fibers. Rather being pure cellulose, these fibers are mostly a mixture of cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose and pectin, which provide the plant with rigid...

The Turkish government announced on Tuesday an increase to the monthly minimum wage by another 34 percent starting on 1 July.

The minimum wage will increase to about $483 and is part of an effort to ease the impact of inflation, which until recently was one of the highest in the world.

In December, the government increased the minimum wage by 55 percent. At the time inflation stood at 85 percent.

In May, inflation dropped to just below 40 percent, its lowest level since 2021.

"The minimum wage assessment commission completed its work with an agreement between the workers and employers," Labour and Social Security Minister Vedat Isikhan said in a televised address from the capital Ankara.

The increase will help to alleviate the purchasing power among workers, over a third of whom earn the minimum wage.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who won re-election last month, promised to fight inflation and increase the minimum wage as part of his campaign.

Despite the big headline wage boost, the plunge in the lira's value means that actual wages have increased only fractionally in dollar terms over the past year.

In 2023, the Turkish lira lost around 20 percent of its valu...

Four Israelis have been killed in a shooting in the occupied West Bank, according to medical services, with four others left wounded.

The Magen David Adom emergency services said the shooting took place near the illegal Israeli settlement of Eli in the central West Bank.

Four more were left wounded, the organisation reported.

A suspected gunmen was shot at the scene, and the Israeli army said it was assessing whether another had escaped. Palestinian officials did not immediately confirm the death.

The shooting comes a day after a major Israeli raid on the West Bank city of Jenin that killed six Palestinians.

The Palestinian health ministry named Amjad al-Jas, 48, as the sixth and oldest Palestinian to be killed during the raid.

According to Palestinian media outlet Arab48, Amjads 22-year-old son, Waseem Amjad Aref al-Jas, was also killed by Israeli forces in January of this year during a si...

If its any consolation, we also treat people horribly "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Traffickers are overloading boats to enable people to flee terrible conditions in North Africa and the Middle East, with disastrous results.

In the early hours of Wednesday, 14 June, an old fishing vessel carrying up to 750 people capsized and sank 47 miles off the Greek coast.

So far 79 people have been confirmed as dead. Only 104 had been rescued by the time the search was called off, so its possible that more than 600 people have been lost in total. Survivors report that the boat sank in minutes in a place where the sea is four kilometres deep. It is unlikely the bodies, including up to 100 children, will ever be found.

The battered fishing vessel left from Tobruk, eastern Libya, and was heading for Italy despite Greece being a closer destination. The reason why is clear. In the past three years, Greece has enacted an increasingly harsh policy of pushbacks, making it almost impossible for asylum-seekers to arrive safely on Greek territory.

Many of the victims were Pakistani. Youve got to wonder how bad life is in Pakistan that they would risk drowning or Greece, where the survivors have now been thrown into barren warehouses under armed guard. They must have been hoping to reach civilized Great Britain, that land of prosperity and liberty that would treat them with dignity and respect.

Im joking, of course.

If any of the survivors of the shipwreck make it to Calais, and brave another crossing over the English Channel, their reception will be no better than in Greece. Starting later this month, the Home Office plans to house people seeking asylum in the UK onboard a barge that has been likened to a floating prison by multiple organisations, including MSF UK.

The Bibby Stockholm is a barge that has been designed for 220 people. Is currently being refitted in Falmouth to accommodate 500 asylum seekers. It has been the target of an ongoing resistance campaign led by local groups, with regular protests and actions linking up to the #NoFloatingPrisons campaign launched by my refugee support organisation Reclaim The Sea.

Prison hulks are a long and dishonorable tradition in English history. Respect history!

Dont forget or forgive America, either were pretty casual about wrecking countries outside our borders, creating the refugees that are fleeing to their oppressors.

Guardian adopts terminology of Palestinian terrorists "IndyWatch Feed War"

On June 19th, the Guardian published three separate pieces on an IDF military operation earlier in the day in the West Bank town of Jenin, where PA security forces have effectively lost control, to arrest terror suspects.  (One was an article by Ben Lynfield, and two were video reports.)

During the operation in the city, which included hours of heavy gunfire between soldiers and Palestinian fighters, eight Israeli soldiers were injured when their military vehicle was targeted by a bomb.

The article by Lynfield was oddly titled Israeli forces launch helicopter raid on Jenin in occupied West Bank, despite the text making clear that the IDF attack helicopter was narrowly used in a rescue operation during the raid to evacuate the injured Israelis soldiers.

Regarding the casualties, Lynfield writes:

The dead Palestinians were identified as Ahmed Saqr, 15, Qassam Abu Saraya, 29 who was claimed as a fighter by Islamic Jihad, Khaled Asasa, 21 and Qais Jabareen, 21.

Seven Israeli soldiers and militarised border police sustained light to moderate injuries, according to an army spokesperson.

However, at least three of the Palestinians killed during the fighting (including the 15 year old) were claimed by Palestinian Islamic Jihad not one, as Lynfield maintains.

Later in the piece, Lynfield writes that one hundred and twenty-three Palestinians and at least 21 Israelis have died, according to the Associated Press, ignoring research showing that the overwhelming majority of slain Palestinians were terrorists or males involved in violent clashes when they were killed.  Further, the Guardian omits the fact that all but...

Palm oil giants face corruption charges as Indonesia probe widens "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

JAKARTA Indonesian prosecutors have charged three major palm oil companies in connection with a cooking oil shortage that rocked the worlds top producer of palm oil. The Attorney Generals Office announced June 15 that it had charged the companies the Permata Hijau Group, Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, and Musim Mas with corruption. All three companies are major players in the industry. Indonesias Permata Hijau Group is one of the top 10 palm oil processors and traders in the country; Wilmar Nabati Indonesia is the arm of Singapore-based Wilmar International, the worlds largest palm oil trader; and Musim Mas, also based in Singapore, owns one of the largest palm oil refinery networks in the world. The scandal broke out last year, when executives from the three companies were arrested for conspiring with a top trade ministry official to secure export permits for the firms. The permits allowed the three companies to skirt their obligations to allocate a quota of cooking oil for the domestic market. The quota obligation was imposed by the government to make sure that the country had enough cooking oil amid an acute shortage that lasted for months in early 2022. The scarcity prompted widespread complaints from the public, who questioned why Indonesia, which produces more than half of the worlds crude palm oil (CPO), the most widely used vegetable oil for cooking oil, was running short on domestic supplies. The government also imposed a domestic price obligation, or DPO, which capped the selling price of CPO. With the permits, the companiesThis article was originally published on Mongabay

Forest ecology and carbon dynamics in the Amazon "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

A tropical rainforest is composed of thousands of species of long-lived trees, each with a natural history characterized by unique morphological, physiological and reproductive attributes. Very little was known about the ecological processes within these plant communities in 1980 when ecologists began to establish long-term studies to document their composition, structure and function. In one project near Manaus, scientists created an experiment to evaluate the impact of deforestation and forest fragmentation on plant and animal communities. In another, dozens (eventually, hundreds) of botanists affiliated with local universities and research institutions created a network of hundreds (eventually, thousands) of permanent one-hectare plots scattered across the entire region. They have used these plots to study Amazonian tree biodiversity, identifying which species are extraordinarily abundant (hyperdominant) and which are exceedingly rare, as well as documenting how tree communities vary across latitudinal, elevational and climatic gradients, information essential for understanding how the Amazon might change in the future due to global warming. The 2020 fire season in the Amazon south of the Equator was typical: The burning season starts in July as landholders use fire to renovate pastureland (a) and clear fields on existing farms (b). The use of fire increases at the end of the dry season (September to October) when landholders burn recently deforested land to expand production (c). Managed fire escapes to create wildfire that impacts the understory of natural forest (d). The y-axis shows the area (km2) burned as measured by the MODIS instrument on NASA satellites. Human rights activists came together in London on Monday to protest against the decision to hold the Cop28 climate conference in the United Arab Emirates

The event organised by ALQST, which monitors human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Arab countries, took place outside the UAE's embassy and was attended by activists from FairSquare, Amnesty International, PEN International and the MENA Solidarity Network.

"Having the world climate conference happen in a country that contributes majorly to the climate crisis is just a farce. It renders the event farcical," Julia Legner, executive director of ALQST, told Middle  East Eye.

There are concerns that the petrostate's own economic interests will inhibit it from making any real progress in the fight against climate change.

In a speech given at the protest, James Lynch, founding co-director of FairSquare rights group, said: "The UAE autocracy is funded and fuelled by fossil fuels, so there is an inextricable link between fossil fuels and the  autocracy of the UAE. The UAE will fight to keep fossil fuel on the  agenda, to preserve its own power."

Today's AI is Artificial Artificial Artificial Intelligence "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

AI is going to eat itself: Experiment shows people training bots are using bots

Workers hired via crowdsource services like Amazon Mechanical Turk are using large language models to complete their tasks which could have negative knock-on effects on AI models in the future.

Data is critical to AI. Developers need clean, high-quality datasets to build machine learning systems that are accurate and reliable. Compiling valuable, top-notch data, however, can be tedious. Companies often turn to third party platforms such as Amazon Mechanical Turk to instruct pools of cheap workers to perform repetitive tasks such as labeling objects, describing situations, transcribing passages, and annotating text.

Their output can be cleaned up and fed into a model to train it to reproduce that work on a much larger, automated scale.

AI models are thus built on the backs of human labor: people toiling away, providing mountains of training examples for AI systems that corporations can use to make billions of dollars.

But an experiment conducted by researchers at the cole polytechnique fdrale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland has concluded that these crowdsourced workers are using AI systems such as OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT to perform odd jobs online.

Training a model on its own output is not recommended. We could see AI models being trained on data generated not by people, but by other AI models perhaps even the same models. That could lead to disastrous output quality, more bias, and other unwanted effects.

The climate change boondoggle acts as a mechanism for all kinds of social, economic and political changes that could greatly diminish the freedom and financial survival of the average person. As the world witnessed with the covid pandemic, global institutions working with governments and corporations are happy to hype up false threats and inspire public hysteria if they think they can use that rising fear to whittle away our individual rights. The hype over "greenhouse emissions" is no exception. The vast majority of climate and carbon policies appear to be aimed at the west, and this is one of the reasons why we know the claims behind them are fake. China alone accounts for around 32% of all global carbon emissions, with the US accounting for only 14% and the EU accounting for around 8%. Yet, think-tanks like the World Economic Forum and globalist havens like the UN are hyperfocused on the US and Europe while China does as it pleases.

Do not read this article "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Im serious. Itll ruin your day. It will lower your opinion of humanity.

Im sure theres something more pleasant you can read to start your day.

OK, here we go. I warned you.

Its monkey torture.

Its a niche market on YouTube and the dark web, and in particular, Telegram, with its encrypted posts. People in places with lots of monkeys catch them, and then people in wealthy countries send them money with requests to do horrible things on video to them: hit them, stab them, drown them, decapitate them, throw them in a blender. By the way, these were all baby monkeys.

Kapetanich found half a dozen other monkeys on the YouTube like Mini. There was Monkey Ji, Baby Ciko, Chiro, Sweetpea, Mona all baby long-tailed macaques being tortured on film. Some of the monkeys had developed physical tics from the stress. Monkey Ji was known for holding her head in her hands and rocking back and forth. Mini would grip her sides. The monkey haters in the comments loved it. Abused multiple times a week since a baby. She has lived a TERRIBLE life, someone wrote, approvingly, under a video of Mini. I dont think Ive ever seen a monkey more broken.

By that point, hundreds of different YouTube channels were posting videos of baby macaques being abused. In some, the monkeys appeared to die on screen. Watch them try to breathe while their idiotic brains shut down, wrote one commenter. Lucy Kapetanich was horrified by what she saw. It hurt to watch as Minis owner cooed an Indonesian endearment sayang to her and then smacked her in the face. It all brought Kapetanich to tears more than once. But the monkey haters loved it.

He sayang-ed Mini and then immediately smacked her! wrote one, screen name Grace.

Man I love those videos.

You might wonder what kind of people get into this kind of stuff. One group on Telegram was called Apes Cage, and they seemed like ordinary people.

Apes Cage contained about 400 people. The cast of characters was a mixture of the strange and even stranger the seemingly normal, all known to one another by their screen names. There was the Torture King, who had invited Kapetanich in; there was Sadistic, a gas station attendant and grandmother in rural Alabama; there was Bones, a former US Air Force airman from Texas with a big collection of guns; and Champei, who caused chaos and infighting in every group he joined. Britain will maintain sanctions to ensure war-affected Russians cannot receive aid "IndyWatch Feed War"

By Ahmed Adel | June 20, 2023

The UK has passed legislation that will allow sanctions against Russia to remain in effect until Moscow pays compensation to Ukraine, the British Foreign Office said on June 19. The British Foreign Office also stated that the European countrys law allows sanctioned Russians to transfer their frozen assets for Ukrainian reconstruction.

The Government is taking powers to maintain Russian sanctions until compensation is paid to Ukraine and is introducing a route for frozen Russian assets to be donated for Ukrainian reconstruction, under new legislation announced by Foreign Secretary James Cleverly today, the British Foreign Office announced.

In addition, the ministry pointed out that the UK will create a fund that will allow sanctioned Russians to transfer their frozen assets to the reconstruction of Ukraine.

This will be a voluntary process whereby sanctioned individuals may apply for funds to be released for the express purpose of supporting Ukraines recovery and reconstruction. There will be no coercion of individuals to encourage them to transfer funds, nor any offer of sanctions relief in return for making a donation, the Office audaciously added, although it does highlight the British entitlement of wanting Russians to release their funds for a purpose but without guarantees.

On June 18, the Daily Mail reported that the UK government and Russian businessman Roman Abramovich, who owned the English Premier League football club Chelsea until 2022 when he was forced to sell it due to the British sanctions campaign against Russia, could not agree on the distribution of funds received from the sale of the club as the billionaire wanted the funds to be sent not only to Ukrainians but also to Russians affected by the conflict. The UK government and the European Commission opposed Abramovichs desire to send funds to Russians.

At the time of the forced sale, Abramovichs press office said he wanted the proceeds to be transferred to a charitable foundation for the needs of the victims on both sides of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

This latest provocation by Britain comes as the countrys Ministry of Defence released a video on June 14 revealing the advanced long-range drones that will be sent to Ukraine in the coming weeks. The video shows several types of drones, including one firing a torpedo over water and another being catapulted from the deck of a vessel.

We announced a 92m air defence package, to be provided through the second procurement round, the videos caption said.

Despite the publication of the video, the British authorities did not provide details about the equipment. However, it is speculated that autonomous aircraft with a range of more than 200 kilometres will...

How US and UK Government Propaganda Specialists Collaborated with Nazis in Ukraine "IndyWatch Feed World"

A MintPress investigation has found that a host of Western government officials, intelligence agents and assets have been directly involved in intimate collaboration with Nazi groups and individuals since at least 2014. This has included involvement in creating and operating the Nazi-run kill list in Ukraine, which MintPress revealed recently.

While Western media have belatedly been forced to concede that there are Nazi influences in Ukraine, many journalists have insisted that the visible fascist patches on uniforms are only there to troll Russians and that they are insignificant and a gift to Russian propaganda. Still, other journalists admit to asking Ukrainian service members to cover up their Nazi symbols. Yet, as we shall see, this collaboration goes much further.

Perhaps a good place to start is with the ongoing role of a key intelligence-linked official who has taken on a propaganda role on behalf of Ukraine since the launch in February 2022 of what the Russian government calls its Special Military Operation. Meet Cormac Smith, a member of the first Irish bobsleigh team to qualify for the Winter Olympics in 1992.  He has appeared in scores of news reports passing on Western propaganda talking points about the role of Russia in Ukraine. But who is Smith working for?

According to his own account, he is a private citizen supporting Ukraine/global freedom. Yet until December 2018, he was the deputy director of communications for the British Cabinet Office the official body responsible for supporting the prime minister. He was also previously attached to the UK Foreign Office as the strategic communications advisor to the foreign minister of Ukraine.

Unlike most photonic circuits which are formed using patterns etched into semiconductor mask using lithography, purely light-based circuits are a tantalizing possibility. This is the focus of a recent paper (press release, ResearchGate) in Nature Photonics by [Tianwei Wu] and colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania.

What is somewhat puzzling is that despite the lofty claims of this being the first time that such an FPGA-like device has been created for photonics, this is far from the case, as evidenced by e.g. a 2017 paper by [Kaichen Dong] and colleagues (full article PDF) in Advanced Materials. Here the researchers used a slab of vanadium dioxide (VO2) with a laser to heat sections to above 68 C where the material transitions from an insulating to a metallic phase and remains that way until the temperature is lowered again. The m-sized features that can be created in this manner allow for a wide range of photonic devices to be created.

What does appear to be different with the photonic system presented by [Wu] et al. is that it uses a more traditional 2D approach, with a slab of InGaAsP on which the laser pattern is projected. Whether it is more versatile than other approaches remains to be seen, with the use of fully photonic processors in our computers still a long while off, never mind photonics-accelerated machine learning applications.

Metallic bond between two beryllium atoms made for the first time "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

A quartet of chemists at the University of Oxford has, for the first time, found a way to get two beryllium atoms to bond with one another. In their paper published in the journal Science, Josef Boronski, Agamemnon Crumpton, Lewis Wales and Simon Aldridge, describe their process and how they managed to do it in a safe wayand at room temperature. Jason Dutton with La Trobe University, has published a Perspective piece in the same journal issue, outlining the work done by the team in England.

Beryllium is a strong but lightweight, alkaline earth metal. It is also brittle.

Beryllium only ever occurs naturally when mixed with other elements, forming minerals. It is often found in gemstones such as emeralds. And it is used in a variety of applications, from telecommunications equipment to computers and cell phones. It is also mixed with other metals to create alloys used in applications such as gyroscopes and electrical contacts.

BepiColombo spacecraft makes its third Mercury flyby today "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

The European Space Agency (ESA) launched the BepiColombo mission in 2018, and it is set to enter orbit around Mercury in 2025. In the meantime, it will be making several flybys of the planet, including a close approach today. Thats because the spacecrafts route takes it on a series of increasingly close flybys that use the planets gravity to adjust its course each time.

In total, between its launch in 2020 and its arrival in Mercury orbit in 2025, the spacecraft will make one flyby of Earth, two of Venus, and six of Mercury. The Earth and Venus flybys are already complete, and today BepiColombo is making its third Mercury flyby, coming within 150 miles of the planets surface.

The maneuver will help to slow the spacecraft down so that it can eventually enter orbit. As BepiColombo starts feeling Mercurys gravitational pull, it will be traveling at 3.6 kilometers per second [2.2 miles per second] with respect to the planet. Thats just over half the speed it approached with during the previous two Mercury flybys, explained ESA flight dynamics expert Frank Budnik in a statement. And this is exactly what the point of such events is. Our spacecraft began with far too much energy because it launched from Earth and, like our planet, is orbiting the sun. To be captured by Mercury, we need to slow down, and were using the gravity of Earth, Venus and Mercury to do just that.

Machine learning helps researchers identify hit songs with 97% accuracy "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Every day, tens of thousands of songs are released. This constant stream of options makes it difficult for streaming services and radio stations to choose which songs to add to playlists. To find the ones that will resonate with a large audience, these services have used human listeners and artificial intelligence. This approach, however, lingering at a 50% accuracy rate, does not reliably predict if songs will become hits.

Now, researchers in the US have used a comprehensive technique applied to brain responses and were able to predict hit songs with 97% accuracy.

By applying machine learning to neurophysiologic data, we could almost perfectly identify hit songs, said Paul Zak, a professor at Claremont Graduate University and senior author of the study published in Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence. That the neural activity of 33 people can predict if millions of others listened to new songs is quite amazing. Nothing close to this accuracy has ever been shown before.

CERN plans to collaborate with projects for future gravitational-wave observatories "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Gravitational waves, like the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, have made their mark on a decade of extraordinary discoveries in physics. Unlike gravity, which is created when massive objects leave their mark in the fabric of spacetime, gravitational waves are very weak ripples in spacetime that are caused by gravity-accelerated masses.

So far, researchers have been able to detect the produced by the melting together of very heavy objects, such as black holes or neutron stars. When this happens, these echoes from the past reverberate through the whole universe and finally reach Earth, allowing us to piece together what happened millions of light-years ago.

Current gravitational-wave observatories can only detect a few gravitational waves as they cover just a narrow spectrum of the whole range of wavelengths that are emitted. Future gravitational-wave observatories, such as the Einstein Telescope, a CERN-recognized experiment, need to be larger in order to search for a larger bandwidth of gravitational waves that could tell us more about the universe.

Warehouse Space: Renting or Buying? Expert Tips for Making the Right Choice "IndyWatch Feed World"

Entrepreneurs face a tough time deciding whether they want to buy a warehouse for their business or rent the same for a specific period. There will be a lot of discussions around this topic, but you have to decide about it through proper research, analysis, and effective financial planning. They have to serve the best business interests and should be decided carefully.

Such a decision is based on a variety of factors. When you are a part of any growing business, there are various demands like increased storage spaces as there will be a constant raw material supply. A growing business entertains the warehouse requirement as a basic need that should be available, like a complete package, to sort multiple issues simultaneously. So, you must see all these aspects when visiting the Dallas warehouse for sale or considering renting it.

But you have to see whether the warehouse is solving your requirements.

So, here are some things to consider when you want to choose your warehouse location.

  • Location Of Your Customer Base

Source: youtube.com

The first thing you must see is your customer bases location. The basic idea is to get a warehouse near your customers location. However, if your actual place of work is different, then renting is a better option. You cannot invest in many warehouses in different parts of a city or state.

You should invest in multiple facilities to help you expand your business in different corners of the city. Also, if you are facing issues, you can choose the customer base based on the demand propelling in the region and add factors like affordable shipping to the same.

Illegal Coltan Mining Fuels Colombian Narco-Insurgents "IndyWatch Feed War"

Illegal mining is a widespread problem whose negative consequences include pollution, destruction of local ecosystems, and hazardous working conditions, not to mention the crime itself. In Colombia, illegal mining has an even more problematic dimension: coltan (and gold) is mined to finance narco-insurgents.

The importance of blue gold

Coltan, short for columbite-tantalite, is a dull metallic ore; coltan ore itself hosts the minerals tantalum and niobium. Global leading producers include Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Rwanda. Demand for columbite tantalum is exceptionally high since its properties apply to the electronics industry, particularly  capacitors. Tantalum has contributed hugely to the miniaturization of handheld electronic devices such as mobile phones as it allows an electrical charge to be stored in small capacitors. For this reason alone, its easy to see the value coltan plays in modern life.

The Colombian government has recognized the importance of coltan and how profitable it is. The Colombian Ministry of Mining and Energys Resolution 18-0102/2012, passed in 2012, listed 11 minerals as strategic interests for Colombia, including coltan (tantalum and niobium). More recently, in early September 2022, President Gustavo Petro called for a diversification of Colombias mining industry. Mining exploration and its profile would have to have another mining objective instead of looking for coal or oil. See if there is lithium, more copper, cobalt, coltan, and manganese. If there is not, other decisions must be made, said the head of state.

Summary: Online bullying in social control media and even in IRC (our network has been trolled a lot lately) is a serious issue; to make matters worse, the CoC system has been weaponised by trolls to silence and intimidate critics of unethical corporations (habitually employing those trolls on 6-digit if not 7-figure salaries)

MORE than 3 years ago we cautioned that the Linux Foundation's Linux Kernel Code of Conduct (CoC) Committee had become "Officially Corporate". Its all about one thing: censorship. Who for? Check the members of the Code of Conduct (CoC) Committee. Theyre the cops, not to mention the judge, the witness, and the jury (the phrase is often judge, jury, executioner; but theyre also the cops/vigilante on the scene). Theyd also process the appeals if any are registered. This is lynching, not a system of justice, and salaries peripheral to the role govern who is punished and what for. Those committees arent full-time jobs. Theyre for corporate lynch mobs to crucify communities.

What the Linux Foundation does with CoCs is still relevant, albeit buried under Easter holidays (because its embarrassing; people file complaints for insulting companies)If the so-called Linux Foundation wants not to be seen as a "Microsoft proxy" anymore, then the answer is simple: just quit being a Microsoft proxy like the Open Source Initiative (OSI) still is. It should be noted that the OSI never quit being a Microsoft proxy. More time passes and the OSI falls deeper and deeper into Microsofts hands, just like the Linux Foundation. Friend brings a friend, mole brings another mole. Shooting the messenger tactics wont help when the message is factual and clearly demonstrable, based on hard evidence; for instance, beware trolls saying/insinuating/alleging that someone is sexist and pro-rape (or choosing moles who are female so that critics...

Chile government faces backlash after U-turn on copper mine "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

Macarena Martinic wasnt surprised earlier this year when the Chilean government said yes to extending the life of Los Bronces, a large, centuries-old open-pit copper mine in the Andes, an hours drive from the capital, Santiago. A week earlier, Chilean Economy Minister Nicols Grau mentioned how important the mine was to the Chilean economy, says Martinic, a lawyer with FIMA, an environmental NGO. To be fair, we already felt the storm coming. Nevertheless, I was very disappointed. This approval is a big contradiction in what this government projects. Los Bronces was discovered and first exploited in 1867, when the mountainous region lacked adequate infrastructure, and the technology to extract minerals from the ground was limited. In the early 20th century, mining operations took off in earnest, turning Los Bronces into one of Chiles largest copper mines, currently producing nearly 330,000 metric tons of the metal per year. In May 2022, the Environmental Evaluation Service (SEA), the Chilean governments environmental regulator, determined that new plans by Anglo American, the U.K.-headquartered mining giant with a majority stake in Los Bronces, would threaten the health of residents of surrounding areas. It rejected Anglo Americans plans to extend its operations, warning that air quality would be severely impacted by mining and that surrounding glaciers could melt faster because of snow pollution. Dust pollution from mining could affect the life of glaciers in the vicinity of the mine as dust pollution would increase ice melting. Image by Shriram Rajagopalan via Flickr 2.0. Her models have run at a 93% accuracy and her findings suggest a Super Grand Solar Minimum is on the cards beginning 2020 and running for 350-400 years. The last time we had a little ice age only two magnetic fields of the sun went out of phase. This time, all four magnetic fields are going out of phase. Cosmic Ray Navigation "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

GPS is a handy modern gadget until you go inside, underground, or underwater. Japanese researchers want to build a GPS-like system with a twist. It uses cosmic ray muons, which can easily penetrate buildings to create high-precision navigation systems. You can read about it in their recent paper. The technology goes by MUWNS or wireless muometric navigation system quite a mouthful.

With GPS, satellites with well-known positions beam a signal that allows location determination. However, those signals are relatively weak radio waves. In this new technique, the reference points are also placed in well-understood positions, but instead of sending a signal, they detect cosmic rays and relay information about what it detects to receivers.

The receivers also pick up cosmic rays, and by determining the differences in detection, very precise navigation is possible. Like GPS, you need a well-synchronized clock and a way for the reference receivers to communicate with the receiver.

Muons penetrate deeper than other particles because of their greater mass. Cosmic rays form secondary muons in the atmosphere. About 10,000 muons reach every square meter of our planet at any minute. In reality, the cosmic ray impacts atoms in the atmosphere and creates pions which decay rapidly into muons. The muon lifetime is short, but time dilation means that a short life traveling at 99% of the speed of light seems much longer on Earth and this allows them to reach deep un...

Citizen Lab on Jamal Khashoggi widow suing spyware firm NSO Group: CBC Radio- As It Happens with Nil Kksal, Chris Howden "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

In an interview with As It Happens with Nil Kksal, Chris Howden on CBC Radio, Citizen Lab Director Ron Deibert discussed Jamal Khashoggis widow Hanan Elatars lawsuit against Israeli spyware company NSO. Hanan Elatr Khashoggi claimed in a civil lawsuit lodged with the Northern District of Virginia that NSO intentionally targeted her devices and caused her immense harm, both through the tragic loss of her husband and through her own loss of safety, privacy, and autonomy.

Ron explains how Citizen Lab learned that Hanans device had spyware installed on it: Someone typed in a website that was used to install Pegasus when her phone was not in her possession when Hanan was interrogated at the Dubai airport and the phone communicated several times with a server that is part of the NSO infrastructure, he said. When trusted devices become an enemy, Ron notes that it has a psychological and emotional toll on victims and some of the victims carry a huge amount of emotional guilt, illuminating the psychological cost of spyware.

Bizarre Trump Interview Highlights Insanity of 2024 GOP Race "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

A Fox News interview with former President Donald Trump that was broadcast Monday night is the latest proof that the race for the 2024 Republican nomination may be the weirdest in US history.

To truly highlight just how crazy it is, lets recap what happened while omitting the names of the main players.

Candidate A is accused of a serious crime. Instead of attacking him, Candidates B through E offer various defenses on his behalf. Candidate E even says all of them should commit to pardon Candidate A if he is convicted and they are elected.

Then, Candidate A goes on national TV and essentially admits to the crimes he is accused of. Once again, the other candidates, who keep losing ground in the race, are staying quiet.

It makes one wonder why they are in the race at all.

There is an explanation, of course, so just bear with us.

Here is where things stand: After being indicted earlier this month for stealing classified documents, lying about returning them, and then obstructing the governments attempts to get them back, Trump basically admitted that he committed these crimes.

In a sit-down interview with Fox News, Trump tried to justify his behavior when asked why he didnt just return the documents in question.

Because I had boxes. I want to go through the boxes and get all my personal things out, Trump said. I dont want to hand that over to [the National Archives] yet. And I was very busy, as youve sort of seen.

Tackling Data Sovereignty with DDR "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Data-centric distributed resilience (DDR) offers a compelling approach to addressing data sovereignty in cybersecurity.

As much of our modern life relies upon the cloud, the question of data protection is front of mind for many organizations. Those who fail to take a proactive approach to secure their data often learn the hard way how vulnerable and valuable that data can be.

Data sovereignty plays a crucial role in a robust security strategy. Organizations must hope for the best yet plan for the worst, keeping their data, end users, and company safe from intruders as cybersecurity threats are on the rise.

Understanding Data Sovereignty

Data sovereignty has emerged as a critical concern for businesses worldwide in todays interconnected digital landscape. When data is sovereign, an organization retains control and ownership over that data. Data sovereignty also encompasses the rights and regulations governing data storage, processing, and transfer and often intersects with privacy, security, and legal considerations.

Various data sovereignty challenges arise for many businesses, such as cross-border data transfers, compliance with differing data protection laws, and protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access. These challenges are intensified in industries that handle large volumes of sensitive data under stringent regulations, such as financial services, healthcare, and government sectors.

Understanding the nuances of data sovereignty is crucial for organizations to effectively address cybersecurity concerns, protect sensitive information, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. By recognizing the significance of data sovereignty, businesses can take measures to enhance data security and control, mitigating these risks.

About DDR (Data-centric Distributed Resilience)

Data-centric distributed resilience (DDR) offers a compelling approach to addressing data sovereignty in cybersecurity. At its core, DDR emphasizes the protection and control of data itself, regardless of its physical location or the infrastructure supporting it.

Unlike traditional approaches that focus solely on securing the perimeter, DDR places data at the center of the security strategy. It employs encryption, tokenization, and data masking to ensure that sensitive information remains protected throughout its lifecycle, both in transit and...

A damaged church wall in Waco, TX, after a car ran into it. (Source: KWTX-TV News 10.)

A few weeks ago, I was cautiously crossing a parking lot, beelining for my car, when out of nowhere, a young man driving a beat-up sports car came speeding toward me, his tires screeching and smoke flaring up from the back of the vehicle. I stared at him in shock, expecting him to slow down, gesturing with open, wide hands as if to say, Dont you see me here? Not only did he not slow down, but he gestured back as if to say, Why should I care? before gunning across the rest of the parking lot and toward the busy road beyond.

I hurried into my car looking behind me to see if he had gotten stuck at a red lightmaybe I could get his license plate and call him in? But alas, he was gone.

This episode is just one of several my husband and I have started collecting recently. We routinely count drivers running red lights as we commute to work and church. Pickup truck drivers racing each other are another common sighting on some of our citys main streets. Weve heard stories of neighbors seeing light poles and residents yards run into by speeding cars late at night; one such driver gunned straight into a church building not far from a friends house It still hasnt been repaired.

Last month, I wrote an article about why city leaders should take seriously the small thingsthose issues that might not seem like campaign-winners, but that seriously affect the lives of ordinary residents. One example of this in Waco is the abundance of stray pit bulls that roam neighborhoods, frightening people away from taking walks or riding their bikes. These kinds of issues matter because, The built environment...

Who is Addis Ababa for? "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

The planned demolition of one of Ethiopias most vibrant cultural centers forms part of an urban planning trend where African cities are re-designed to serve elites.

On June 1, 2023, government agents in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, announced that the Kazanchis neighborhoods Fendika Cultural Center would be demolished six months from said date. This case is another instance reproducing the chronicle of demolitions of pre-established areas in the capital.

Painted on the board of a small street stand of Addis Ababa, a glowing sign reads: Fendika. Viewed from the outside, it appears it is nothing special, but the board still stands out as one of the few brightly lit ones of the central Kazanchis district. The cultural center is filled with tourists bustling about, who visit the district, especially on Mondays, Wednesdays, and also on Friday nights. Beginning in 2016, Fendika has hosted thematic evenings for Ethio-Jazz traditions, in addition to Ethiopian dance performances hailing from the countrys most internally diverse ethnic groups.

One only needs to spend a good half hour inside the location to realize that Fendika, as the fully spelled out name Fendika Cultural Center implies, is more than meets the eye: its walls are wallpapered with records, mounted with temporary galleries of artists, and traditional T-shirts and scarfs are advertised on the stalls. The Center greets you with a vast stage. A stage that, to paint a picture of the atmosphere, succeeds in inviting an ecstatic connection to take place between the clumsiest tourist and the intellectually savvy Ethiopian to shake their shoulders with the dancers.

The Centers owner, Melaku Belay, is frequently found lingering around the venue. He greets newcomers and regular visitors with a smile, then mingles with the dancers. Following his life trajectory, it is easy to see why Fendika remains loyal to Ethiopian traditions: having first begun as an entertainment choreographer himself, Belay now spends part of his life traveling all over Ethiopia and across seas to learn the dances of various ethnic groups. He has also traveled to Europe and America, giving TED talks and delivering performances with his dance troupe.

What Are The Benefits Of Hologram Sticker Printing? "IndyWatch Feed War"

Hologram Sticker Printing is a great way to differentiate your products and attract customers. These stickers are easy to design and can be customized with a variety of features. They can also be designed in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

These stickers are also useful for businesses that want to add a level of security to their products. These tamper-proof stickers are difficult to reproduce, which deters counterfeiters and frauds.

Hologram Sticker Printing

Hologram Sticker Printing is a great way to add a high-tech look to your products and packaging, while also helping protect them from counterfeiting and tampering. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, making them ideal for a wide range of different branding and marketing purposes. This type of sticker can be used to promote a brand, logo, or product, and it can also include a QR code or other information that customers can scan to learn more about the company or product.

Holographic stickers are made through a process known as holography, which creates multi-dimensional images that appear to be three-dimensional when viewed from different angles. The images are usually small, but they can be large enough to cover a whole label. They are often made of metallic material, and they can be affixed to a number of different surfaces. These stickers can also be embossed to add a more textured effect to the surface.

To make a Hologram Sticker Printing, youll need a few basic supplies. First, youll need a holographic laminating sheet. These are available in either self-adhesive or foil-on-transfer, and both will work for this project. Depending on your preference, you may also need to purchase some special inks or materials to print the hologram.

Once you have the proper materials, youll need to design your Hologram Sticker Printing. Many hologram printing services offer this service, but its also possible to create your own designs using software like Illustrator or CorelDraw. Youll want to make sure that your design is clear and accurate, and that it uses a few colors at most. This is because holograms are not capable of reproducing full-color images.

Methods Of Hologram Sticker Printing

Hologram stickers are a great way to add an extra level of security and anti-counterfeiting protection to your products. They can also be used as a branding tool to increase brand awareness and boost customer trust. However, there are several important things to keep in mind when printing hologram stickers. These include:

Last fall, Kenny Hansmire was tapped by Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton to be part of a coalition to combat opioid abuse that Paxton declared would be the largest drug prevention, education, abatement and disposal campaign in U.S. history.

Riffing off the name of a popular book about Texas football, Paxton announced the Friday Night Lights Against Opioids coalition and pilot program. The initiative would distribute 3.5 million packets at high school football games that contain a powder capable of destroying opioids when mixed with water.

Paxton didnt provide a price tag for the effort or explain Hansmires exact role, but he said a partnership with the businessmans National Child Identification Program would be important to the programs success.

A former NFL player, Hansmire has persuaded leaders in multiple states to spend millions of dollars purchasing inkless fingerprinting kits on the promise that they could help find missing children. Texas alone allocated $5.7 million for kits over the past two years. An investigation published last month by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune found little evidence of the kits effectiveness and showed that the company exaggerated missing child statistics in its marketing.

Bridge the Gap: Solving Your Medical Staffing Shortfalls With Expertise and Efficiency "IndyWatch Feed World"

After the pandemic hit the world, the medical industry faced challenges like staffing shortfalls. It was a difficult phase for people from all countries. Hospitals realized the need for well-trained staff members. People should be thankful to these front-line warriors who worked hard during the Covid-19 times to save human lives.

These days, hospitals are finding difficulty in recruiting medical staff. But in this article, you will find various strategies that will help you solve the medical staffing shortfall challenge for primary care jobs. Scroll down to learn about these tips and tricks.

Consider Investing In The Right Technology

Source: pinterest.com

One of the best ways to retain staff members in your medical care is to invest in the right technology. According to research, most people leave their jobs due to a lack of technology provided to them at work. If you think that there are some people who are the right fit for a particular position at your medical care, then investing in the right technology would be really helpful in low employee turnover.

New technologies will help interconnect all the processes in your hospital, making it easier for your staff and you. Technology can also help the employer reduce training costs for new employees.

Employee Satisfaction Should Be A Priority

Working in a healthcare department can be difficult. And a fact is that employee turnover in hospitals is more than any other industry. Heavy workloads at medical care centres can be physically and mentally tiring for employees. Not having a good relationship with the supervisor and colleagues is another reason for employee turnover. That is why it is important to focus on satisfying your employees at the workplace.

Adjusting the schedules of your staff can be helpful for them. At most medical care centres, the schedules of the nursing staff are decided in advance. If the employee has a problem working on a particular...

Forget the University: Gift Cards, Professionalism and the Australian Academy "IndyWatch Feed World"

Dear future students wishing to come to Australia and study: dont. The gurgling, decaying system is, on a regular basis, being exposed for what it is. If it is not students being exploited, its academics being manipulated to the point of ruinous ill-health. True, not all universities are equally rotten in the constellation of corporate manipulation, but each one is rotten in a slightly different way.

The nature of the rot starts at the top a conventional wisdom. And that rot features workloads of an unrealistic nature (too many classes; unrecognised grading efforts; questionable budgets), all padding for the bloated managerial class that guiltlessly loots. It helps, as well, that most Australian universities have Human Resources departments larger than most academic departments. They are the stormtroopers for the managerial gauleiters, ensuring that dissenters are kept quiet, and anyone wishing to challenge the status quo kept in straitjacket and check.

Much has already been made of the enormous casualisation of the academic workforce in Australia. (One figure suggests that 70% of university workers in the sector are on casual or fixed term contracts.) They are the precariat, the equivalent of altar children whose bottoms, bodies and minds are passed around from course to course to be used by the relevant coordinator, program manager and associate dean for a finite duration.

The nature of such sessionalisation has seen an interesting twist of late. The hand-to-mouth precariat are not wanted at least in certain institutions. Universities suddenly claim to have no money in the kitty to pay modest sums to sessional workers they have sadistically abused for years. This is despite huge financial windfalls that arose even as the global pandemic was raging. In the post-COVID landscape, the assumption is that ongoing academics (tenure is not a concept of any worth down under) will take charge, seize the reins, and teach themselves into the ground.

But as departments, schools and university sections are racketeering enterprises, those wishing to cosy up to obese, overly remunerated managers may be rewarded for their flabby morals. (Arse-crawling really ought to be a degree, but why theorise it, when the praxis is sorted out?) The crawlers can avoid teaching. They can assume administrative posts and discuss administration with others in similar administrative posts. They can dream, fiddle and fondle spreadsheets, conjuring up miracles from the ether. Their minds devoid of cerebration, they are the perfect adjutants and servants for the managerial institution.

As for research, this only matters if it can be pegged to the industrial grant making complex, which is only useful in producing more grants. The cosmos of receiving such awards is only relevant, not from the actual material it produc...

Refugee crisis reveals the racism in the smug republic "IndyWatch Feed Politics.eu"

I dont usually write about contentious issues in the Republic of Ireland, because although I have lived here for many years I feel I have little to add to the hundreds of thousands of words on television, radio and in the newspapers. I prefer to write about the North because I know it better and because it is less written about here.

But this month I am going to write about the refugee crisis that has been hitting the headlines in recent weeks and months. It is a issue close to my heart because I am the son of a refugee. Last month, for the first time, it became a headline-making issue in this country, as groups of local people in the townland of Inch in County Clare and the suburb of Santry in Dublin blockaded a disused hotel and a commercial building where asylum-seekers had been moved (or were about to be moved). Homeless asylum-seekers camped out near the office handling their international protection applications in central Dublin had their tents and other possessions burned by right-wing thugs. The Garda Siochana reported that there had been 125 anti-refugee/asylum-seeker street protests since the start of the year (one banner I saw at a Dublin demonstration read: Our children are in danger from these immigrants. Fight back). Members of far-right groups were extremely active on social media and were touring the country to stir up ignorant, fearful people in small places like Inch.

At the same time hundreds of Ukrainians were arriving in the country every week. Ireland has been among the most welcoming countries in Europe to people fleeing the brutal Russian invasion of that country (more than 83,000 received so far). Rosita Boland, who had covered the Inch protest for the Irish Times, wrote about the hostility she encountered from locals when reporting on the arrival of 34 young male asylum seekers (international protection applicants is the more politically correct appellation) from Africa and Asia to be housed in bungalows on the grounds of a disused hotel there. She remembered covering a similar protest in Achill in 2019, when 150 locals protested around the clock for six midwinter weeks at the imminent arrival of 38 asylum seekers, women and families with the result that those unfortunate people never turned up.

She concluded her article: For whatever reason, to my knowledge, there were no round-the-clock protests over the arrival of Ukrainians into our communities, some of them as small and remote as Inch and Achill. Why is this?1

I would have thought the answer was obvious (as, clearly, she does): the Ukrainians dont have black and brown faces. We in Ireland have an extraordinary capacity for denial and doublethink: what Fintan OToole calls our larger capacity for being in two minds simultaneously. I remember the shocked, almost unbelieving reaction of letter writers to the Irish Times when I wrote an article in that paper back in 1999 about racism in Dublin....

MSI Launches Power Supply With Yellow Connectors to Prevent 16-Pin Connector Meltdowns "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

MSI's latest PSU series aims to mitigate user error with one minor change:

MSI has launched its MAG GL power supplies, showcased at Computex 2023. These new power supplies are PCIe 5.0 compatible and are compliant with the ATX 3.0 standard. In addition to meeting new spec guidelines, they have the bonus of featuring yellow pin connectors on both ends of the cable. The idea behind the subtle change is to make it easier for users to see whether or not the cable is completely inserted, preventing a few common hardware failures, such as the 16-pin connector meltdowns on the GeForce RTX 4090, one of the best graphics cards.

According to MSI, users frequently reported problems with burnt power supply connectors when using them with newer high-end GPUs. Upon investigation, the team realized one of the most common causes of this issue was improperly connected cables. With the new yellow pin connectors, users can easily see whether or not the cable has been fully inserted when assembling their PC.

The new MAG GL series PSUs are designed to handle Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards. They are also compatible with Intel's Power Supply Design Guide (PSDG) ATX 3.0 standard. This support only waivers when the power supply isn't correctly installed, which is always necessary, especially given the latest hardware demands.

The field of photonics has seen significant advances during the past decades, to the point where it is now an integral part of high-speed, international communications. For general processing photonics is currently less common, but is the subject of significant research.

What is somewhat puzzling is that despite the lofty claims of this being the first time that such an FPGA-like device has been created for photonics, this is far from the case, as evidenced by e.g. a...

In this blog post, we will explore the concept of administrative outsourcing and how it can significantly boost efficiency for businesses of all sizes.

Definition of Administrative Outsourcing and Its Purpose

Source: freepik.com

Administrative outsourcing refers to the practice of delegating administrative tasks and responsibilities to external service providers. This includes functions such as data entry, customer support, appointment scheduling, bookkeeping, and various other back-office operations. The purpose of administrative outsourcing is to streamline business processes, enhance productivity, and enable organizations to leverage specialized expertise without the need for extensive in-house resources.

The Collapse of Reddit Helps Gemini Grow and the Message About Gemini Protocol Spread "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Gemini in late June 2023

Summary: People who used the Internet before are still on the Internet but not necessarily on the Web; weve seen growth in the number of Gemini users (this month has been the best so far) and if more people reject apps not the same as HTTP/S perhaps we can move technology in a healthier direction

FOR those who dont pay much attention to Internet gossip, Reddit is in trouble and its CEO is spamming people (via E-mail) together with NPR, trying hard to control the narrative/story about whats happening. Yesterday he was linked to Musk, which is a total disaster. In addition, this past week there were stories such as these:

Yesterday in IRC Alexei said, Both Steve Huffman and Elon Musk must be reaffirmed by Volodymyr Saldo when he was in Nova Kakhovka standing next to a flooded theatre and saying on camera that people are walking, driving and working just fine. Saldo was filmed on June 6th of course.

Are some more Reddit clones on their way? Based on Gemini protocol alone? From what we can gather, Reddit will never be the same again. Many users, not only moderators (slaves/volunteer staff) left permanently. Some of them ended up in Gemini. They say so themselves. There are some hello world posts.

Is the collapse of Reddit helping Gemini grow so much faster this month?...

I Never Thought Of Becoming Governor-Sheriff  Oborevwori "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

OBOREVWORI

LAGOS JUNE 20TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Monday disclosed that he never thought of becoming governor when he joined politics in the 1990s.

Oborevwori said his major aim of joining politics was render service to his local people, adding however that by divine orchestration, he served as a member and Speaker of the state House of Assembly before his latest elevation as governor.

He was speaking in Asaba during a church thanksgiving service for his successful inauguration as governor as well as 60th birthday anniversary.

Oborevwori said he has every reason to thank God for protecting him even in his days of disobedience.

God has been standing for me and protecting me. In my years of disobedience, He was there for me.

I will consciously and intentionally honour Him at all times. Today, I am 60; I am healthy, strong, of sound mind with a wonderful family, he said.

Meanwhile, the founding bishop of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo has prayed for the governor to be successful and impactful as he administers Delta State.

Oyedepo in a personal letter congratulating Oborevwori on his diamond jubilee anniversary, noted that his triumph against all political battles were testimonies of Gods hand upon his life and family.

Obviously, the continuous open doors granted to you in all areas of life is a testimony of the good hand of God upon your life and may you jealously guard your walk with God all through your days.

As we all know, not everyone growing is ageing; while some are growing into new realms of impact, others are simply ageing away by the day.

My prayer is that as your days, so shall your strength be and may your light continue to shine more and more until the end of time.

Therefore as you celebrate your diamond jubilee l, may everything about your life turn diamond, ranging from your spiritual life, health, and family, and all that pertain to you.

May your leadership era in Delta State be a most impactful and transforming one, in the name of Jesus Christ, Bishop Oyedepo prayed.

Delta APC Chieftains Write Tinubu, Complain Of  Omo-Ageges Over-Bearing Influence "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

Ovie-Omo-Agege 2

LAGOS JUNE 20TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Some members of Delta All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Sen. Ovie Omo-agege, the former Deputy Senate President of the 9th National Assembly of having overbearing influence on the state chapter.

The party members made the allegation in an open letter to President Bola Tinubu which was made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja.

The letter was jointly signed by Inana Michael, Secretary Delta APC, Tom Onah (Delta North Chairman) and Michael Orunefe (Delta Central Chairman) among others.

The letter added that the Delta APC could not continue to be controlled by an individual in the state to the determent of its lager members.

It also accused Omo-agege of anti-party activities ahead of the February 25 presidential election by working against the APC and President Tinubu.

The letter said the action of the former Deputy Senate President led to the party`s poor performance in Delta during the general election.

It added that Omo-agege and his group never worked for Tinubu ahead of the presidential election, but rather, worked for Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate.

This, it said, was obvious as pictures of him posing with Obi in flyers were all over Delta ahead of the election.

The letter recalled how Omo-agege encouraged Mr Godwin Emefiele, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor to contest the 2023 presidential election against Tinubu by issuing him the party`s membership card and admitting him into it illegally.

It said his plan was to scuttle Tinubus presidential ambition, adding that while some of the partys stakeholders tried to oppose his plan, he was resolute and had not forgiven those who opposed him.

The letter added that this explained why some of the party`s Delta stakeholders had continued to receive expulsion letter on the instruction of Omo-agege.

According to the letter, the partys faithful and critical stakeholders in Delta, especially, those not in Omo-Ageges camp are being sidelined.

It said they were also being prevented from participating in the party`s activities in the state, including buying forms to contest the congresses and the primaries ahead of the general elections.

This, it said, was the reason only Omo-Agege collected forms to contest the Delta governorsh...
