Researchers Develop Method to Permanently Destroy Toxic Forever Chemicals in Water Supply "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are known as forever chemicals because they last in the environment for thousands of years. They are found in a range of products, from firefighting foam to non-stick cookware, cosmetics and raingear, and have made their way into the water supply. They have also been found in the blood of every American whos been tested.

PFAS end up in drinking water mostly when the products that contain them leach into rivers, lakes, soils and groundwater, which can contaminate wells. PFAS can also be transported through the air into lakes and rivers used to supply drinking water.

But what if PFAS werent forever at all?

University of British Columbia (UBC) engineers have come up with a new water treatment that safely, efficiently and permanently removes PFAS from drinking water, according to UBC News.

Think Brita filter, but a thousand times better, said UBC chemical and biological engineering professor Dr. Madjid Mohseni, who developed the technology, as UBC News reported.

More than 4,700 PFAS are currently being used in common products and have been linked to a variety of health problems, including heart disease, liver damage, cancer, hormonal disruption, increased risk of thyroid disease and asthma, developmental delays and decreased fertility.

Mohseni and the team of engineers came up with a special adsorbent material that can trap and hold all of the PFAS found in the drinking water supply so that they can be removed.

The scientists then us......

Who Has Right on Their Side? "IndyWatch Feed War"

In Henrik Ibsens An Enemy of the People, the character Dr. Stockmann says:

The majority never has right on its side. Never I say! That is one of those social lies against which an independent, intelligent man must wage war. Who is it that constitute the majority of the population in a country? Is it the clever folk or the stupid? I dont imagine you will dispute the fact that at present the stupid people are in an absolutely overwhelming majority all the world over. But, good Lord!you can never pretend that it is right that the stupid folk should govern the clever ones! [the crowd cries out] Oh yesyou can shout me down, I know! But you cannot answer me. The majority has might on its side-unfortunately; but right it has not. I am in the rightI and a few other scattered individuals. The minority is always in the right.

Romania to consider bill seeking land grab in Ukraine "IndyWatch Feed War"

RT | March 24, 2023

A controversial bill submitted to the Romanian parliament this week has urged the government to drop its recognition of Ukraines borders by 2027 and annex territories where ethnic Romanians live.

The bill, introduced by right-wing lawmaker Diana Sosoaca, would repeal a provision in the 1997 treaty with Ukraine, which pledged respect for each others national borders. She described the document as the biggest act of treason in Romanias modern history because it recognized the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, according to a formal justification of the bill.

Sosoaca was referring to the non-aggression agreement between the USSR and Nazi Germany, sealed in August 1939, which included a classified portion delineating spheres of influence for Moscow and Berlin.

The pact was one of several such agreements signed by European nations with Adolf Hitlers government, as they maneuvered diplomatically in the last days of the interwar period. Romania was a Nazi ally for a significant portion of World War II, before switching sides. It lost some of its territories in the post-war settlement, which were added to Soviet Ukraine and Soviet Moldova.

Sosoaca listed several lands, which she deems as historically Romanian and currently abusively held by Ukraine, from Northern Bukovina to Snake Island. The latter was part of a lengthy legal battle over maritime borders, which ended in 2009 with Kiev keeping sovereignty over the islet.

Romania would annex those territories under the bill. The legislator cited a need to protect ethnic Romanians living in Ukraine from Kievs discriminatory policies, and ensure that they can maintain their cultural identity.

After the bill was met with pushback in Romania, Sosoaca stressed that she did not want Bucharest to go to war with Kiev for a land grab. However, she added: peace cannot be based on the forced ethnic assimilation of the Romanian minority, which is the practice of the Ukrainian state.

The initiative was introduced in the upper chamber of the Romanian parliament on Monday, with Sosoacas SOS Party holding a presentation the next day. She used to be a member of a different political force, but was expelled from its parliamentary faction in 2021 for allegedly breaking with its political strategy, and is now technically independent.

Critics have described Sosoaca as far right and claimed that she has ties with Russia, based on her attempts to soften a diplomatic dispute a few years ago, and her calls for a neutral stance on the Ukrainian conflict. The Romanian government is a staunch supporter of Kiev.

Uncommon Sense: Ursula K. LeGuin Edition "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

The Wave of The Mind [wc] basically, short essays on writing and thinking about writing and, as usual, I was impressed by her clarity and thoughtfulness. She ranges widely, including a fascinating meta-analysis of gender in book awards (depressing!) and a piece on genetic determinism.

She illustrates how to approach a scientist who is working way out ahead of their comfort-zone, as often happens:

Finding myself troubled by many of E.O. Wilsons sweeping statements, I tried to figure out what was troubling me. I did it in writing, because I think best in writing. An amateur responding to a professional is likely to make a fool of herself, and no doubt Ive done just that, but I decided to publish the piece. I am not pitting my opinions against scientific observation. I am pitting my opinions against a scientists opinions. Opinions and presumptions, when presented by a distinguished scientist are likely to be mistaken for scientific observations for fact and that is what troubles me.

In his very interesting autobiography, Naturalist, E.O. Wilson summarizes the statement of the biological foundations of human behavior made in his book Sociobiology.

Genetic Determinism the central objection raised against sociobiology is the bugbear of the social sciences. So what I said that can indeed be called Genetic Determinism needs saying here, again. My argument ran, essentially, as follows. []

LeGuin then proceeds to demonstrate how Wilsons sketch of genetic determinism is full of contradictions with reality. Thats not really the point of this excerpt, though. Its the way that LeGuin shapes the battlefield before she blows the trumpets and trots into the melee. By drawing a clear line between scientific observation and Wilsons personal opinions, and her own personal opinions, she dismembers the inherent respectability of the famous scientists claims and primes us to accept the idea that Wilson is just waving his hands in the air.

Russias inexplicable ability to withstand Western aggression "IndyWatch Feed War"

British and French invaders exit from Crimea
By Drago Bosnic | March 24, 2023

One of the most self-defeating and yet inexplicably persistent mistakes Russias enemies have been making for over a thousand years is underestimating it. Regardless of the direction the invasion was coming from, Moscow was able to prevail each time. Its ability to not just successfully defend itself, but also counterattack and reach the opponents heartland has been unmatched in modern history. And yet, the myth of Russias supposed perpetual decline and dilapidation is an incessant propaganda trope used by its enemies for centuries. None of it ever came true, despite all the grim predictions, which are still being parroted to this very day and are unlikely to go away any time soon, especially nowadays, when the political West needs to keep its populace under...

5 Reasons Why Ts Escorts Have Become So Popular "IndyWatch Feed World"

So why have they become so popular? Well, its hard to pinpoint just one reason as each individuals attraction is different, but reasons range from greater understanding to the fun, unique service they provide.

London agencies such as Rachaels have seen increased demand for ts escorts, with search results and customer enquiries for this type of escort bigger than ever.

Here are some of the most common ones we have found about the growing popularity of ts escorts in the adult industry.

A greater understanding of gender and sexuality diversity

In recent years, there has been a greater awareness and acceptance of diverse gender and sexual identities. This has increased demand for more inclusive and diverse options in the escort industry, including ts escorts.

Ts escorts themselves also may have a greater understanding of gender and sexuality. Clients may seek their services because of this, helping them navigate and ultimately be comfortable within their own.

Curiosity and exploration

Source: realtalkphilosophy.org

For many who seek escorts, there is a curiosity to explore their sexuality in ways they have never done before. Ts escorts offer unique and exciting sensual possibilities which allow people to push their boundaries.

With ts escorts, clients can explore specific fantasies they may not get to with other escorts, alongside their sexuality. The fact that ts escorts can offer escapism in a professional and experienced capacity while being discreet creates a more comfortable environment for some individuals to express themselves.

Extra Fun

As mentioned, the new and exciting possibilities that ts escorts offer can create a more fun experience. Whether through roleplay or other ways to make their clients feel good, they can ensure that every need and desire is taken care of.

They also provide experiences their clients would not usually have in their ordinary lives. It allows them to have a secret encounter only they and the escort know about, elevating the sense of excitement and anticipation around seeing an escort.

The wonderful world of caterpillars "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Environmental writer Elizabeth Kolbert had an interesting article in the New Yorker about the little-known world of caterpillars and other insects. I have to admit, caterpillars had not figured much in my consciousness but was impressed to learn that they undergo a dizzying array of transformations in their very short lives.

From a caterpillars perspective, humans are boring. The young they squeeze out of their bodies are just miniature versions of themselves, with all the limbs and appendages theyll ever have. As they mature, babies get bigger and stronger and hairier, but thats about it.

Caterpillars, for their part, are continually reinventing themselves. They emerge from tiny, jewel-like eggs and for their first meal often eat their own egg cases. Once they reach a certain size, they sprout a second head, just behind the first. They then wriggle free of their old skin, the way a diver might wriggle out of a wetsuit. (In the process, the old head drops off.) In the course of their development, they will complete this exercise three, four, in some species sixteen times, often trying out a new look along the way. The spicebush swallowtail, for example, which is found throughout the eastern U.S., emerges from its egg mottled in black and white. This color scheme allows it to pass itself off as a bird dropping. After its third molt, as a so-called fourth instar, it turns green (or brown), with two yellow-and-black spots on its head. The spots, which look uncannily like a pair of eyes, enable the swallowtail to pretend its a snake.

After running through its allotment of instars, a caterpillar ceases to be itself and becomes a pupa. It sheds its skin one last time and develops a hardened shell. Inside this shell, its body dissolves. Then, from bundles of cells known as imaginal disks, a new body takes form. Some disks develop into legs, some wings, some genitalia, and so on. The creature that emerges retains almost nothing of its juvenile self except, weirdly, its memories.

As a way of life, this radical, whole-body transformation is ancient. It arose some three hundred and fifty million years ago, during the Carboniferous period. How, exactly, the process evolved is still debated, but it has proved wildly popular. Not only moths and butterflies undergo complete metamorphosis; so, too, do beetles, flies, wasps, fleas, and lacewings.

There were lots of other things that interested me, such as this one.

There are roughly sixty-five hundred species of mammals, nine thousand species of amphibians, and eleven thousand species of birds. These are what people tend to think of when they picture the worlds biodiversity. But the planets real diversity lies mostly beneath our regard. The largest family of beetles, the Cu...

The accusation against the Biden Administration was not fabricated. How you save the world with three words (commentary) "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

In South Los Angeles  right in the heart of the 10-million-person metro area sits a sprawling 1,000-acre zone from another era: Its the Inglewood Oil Field, a rolling scrubland dotted with hundreds of working oil pump jacks. La Cienega Boulevard cuts right through the oil field, which is just northeast of LAX, and just eight miles east of Venice Beach. The production of oil from 444 wells in the heart of Los Angeles feels increasingly off brand for what aspires to be a progressive city (California has banned sale of new gas-powered cars starting in 2035). Not surprisingly two municipalities where the Inglewood Oil Field is located Los Angeles and Culver City have both ordered the oil wells shut down and capped over the next decade. Which presents a remarkable opportunity: The chance to restore the Inglewood Oil Field from a century-old industrial zone oil has been pumped there since 1924  into a natural area for both recreational benefit and increasing space for nature in this sprawling urban landscape. As it happens, theres already a natural area nearby: Along Inglewoods northeastern border sits the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area. Hahn is 400 acres of hiking trails, woodlands, hilly scrub. Restoring the adjacent land from the oil field would more than triple its size. One million people live within five miles of the oil field. If it becomes parkland, those one million people will suddenly live within five miles of an urban wildland larger than New YorkThis article was originally published on Mongabay

This Week in Security: USB Boom! Acropalypse, and a Bitcoin Heist "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Weve covered a lot of sketchy USB devices over the years. And surely you know by now, if you find a USB drive, dont plug it in to your computer. Theres more that could go wrong than just a malicious executable. Weve covered creative and destructive ideas here on Hackaday, from creative firmware to capacitors that fry a machine when plugged in. But what happened to a handful of Ecuadorian journalists was quite the surprise. These drives went out with a bang.

That is, they literally exploded. The drives each reportedly contained a pellet of RDX, a popular explosive in use by militaries since the second World War. There have been five of these hyperactive USB devices located so far, and only one actually detonated. It seems that one only managed to trigger half of its RDX payload. Iran International: Inside the Saudi-Funded Network Promoting Regime Change in Iran "IndyWatch Feed World"

As part of the historic, Chinese-led Iran Saudi Arabia dtente deal, multiple outlets have reported that Riyadh has agreed to stop funding or tone down critical coverage of Iran in Iran International, a high-profile English and Persian language outlet. Tehran accuses Iran International of supporting terrorism and engineering the 2022 anti-government protests. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, lauded the network as a force to spread the truth andthe hope of freedom.

Many were angered at the news. Press freedom matters. Its outrageous that Iran International is having their budget cut as a result of the Saudi-Iran normalization, wrote Israeli-American journalist Emily Schrader.

Yet this casual acceptance of the idea that Iran International is little more than a front for the Saudi monarchy will have been groundbreaking news to millions of Iranians who rely on the channel and believe it to be an independent, trustworthy organization.

For their part, the outlet has strenuously challenged the notion. Speaking with MintPress, Adam Baillie, a producer and media liaison for Iran International, stated that they are an entirely independent TV news channel with no state or political affiliation either within or outside Iran. Baillie also pointed MintPress to a recent comment from a...

Ring of Life? Terminator Habitability around M-dwarfs "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Ring of Life? Terminator Habitability around M-dwarfs

It would come as no surprise to readers of science fiction that the so-called terminator region on certain kinds of planets might be a place where the conditions for life can emerge. Im talking about planets that experience tidal lock to their star, as habitable zone worlds around some categories of M-dwarfs most likely do. But I can also go way back to science fiction read in my childhood to recall a story set, for example, on Mercury, then supposed to be locked to the Sun in its rotation, depicting humans setting up bases on the terminator zone between broiling dayside and frigid night.

Addendum: Can you name the science fiction story Im talking about here? Because I cant recall it, though I suspect the setting on Mercury was in one of the Winston series of juvenile novels I was absorbing in that era as a wide-eyed kid.

The subject of tidal lock is an especially interesting one because we have candidates for habitable planets around stars as close as Proxima Centauri, if indeed a possibly tidally locked planet can sustain clement conditions at the surface. Planets like this are subject to extreme conditions, with a nightside that receives no incoming radiation and an irradiated dayside where greenhouse effects might dominate depending on available water vapor. Even so, moderate temperatures can be achieved in models of planets with oceans, and most earlier work has gone into modeling water worlds. I also think its accurate to say that earlier work has focused on how habitable conditions might be maintained in the substellar eye region directly facing the star.

But what about planets that are largely covered in land? Its a pointed question because a new study in The Astrophysical Journal finds that tidally locked worlds mostly covered in water would eventually become saturated by a thick layer of vapor. The study, led by Ana Lobos (UC-Irvine) also finds that plentiful land surfaces produce a terminator region that could well be friendly to life even if the equatorial zone directly beneath the star on the dayside should prove inhospitable. Says Lobo:

We are trying to draw attention to more water-limited planets, which despite not having widespread oceans, could have lakes or other smaller bodies of liquid water, and these climates could actually be very promising.

Art is going to disappear when the Puritans take over "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

In the face of declining ad revenues*, we have decided to become a full-time porn blog. Youll find an example of our new content to the right.

You might say thats not porn, thats artbut pornography is in the eye of the beholder, and thats porn in Florida**.

On Thursday, the Tallahassee Democrat reported that the principal of a local charter school, the Tallahassee Classical School, was forced to resign after three parents complained about an art teacher showing a picture of Michelangelos 16th-century sculpture of David. Parental rights are supreme, and that means protecting the interests of all parents, whether its one, 10, 20 or 50, the chair of the schools board, Barney Bishop III, told the paper. To figure out exactly how this happened, I called Bishop, who is also, according to his biography, a consultant, a lobbyist, an outspoken advocate for the free enterprise system, and an Eagle Scout.

I notice that educator isnt on his CV, but that never stops anyone from taking control of a school board.

You should read the whole thing Barney is totally bonkers. Hes got strongly held opinions, thats for sure, but he seems to be using classical as a synonym ideas about education.

He denies that the principal was fired over showing the statue. No, they were fired because they didnt send a note to the parents warning them about it.

So the issue, Dan, isnt whether children should see these pictures or not. Gosh, were a classical school. Why wouldnt we show Renaissance art to children?

Right. We should expect that the students would see Renaissance art already (warning: some of it has boobies in it, too). Apparently, though, Florida parents are too stupid to be aware of this, so they have to be sent trigger warnings.

Dan, 98 percent of the parents didnt have a problem with it. But that doesnt matter, because we didnt follow a practice. We have a practice. Last year, the school sent out an advance notice about it. Parents should know: In class, students are going to see or hear or talk about this. This year, we didnt send out that notice.

He also says the statue is not a problem, but theyre going to have to do age-related censorship.

Were not going to show the full statue of David to kinder...

Fourier Transformations Reveal How AI Learns Complex Physics "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Fourier Transformations Reveal How AI Learns Complex Physics:

One of the oldest tools in computational physics a 200-year-old mathematical technique known as Fourier analysis can reveal crucial information about how a form of artificial intelligence called a deep neural network learns to perform tasks involving complex physics like climate and turbulence modeling, according to a new study.

In the paper, Hassanzadeh, Adam Subel and Ashesh Chattopadhyay, both former students, and Yifei Guan, a postdoctoral research associate, detailed their use of Fourier analysis to study a deep learning neural network that was trained to recognize complex flows of air in the atmosphere or water in the ocean and to predict how those flows would change over time. Their analysis revealed "not only what the neural network had learned, it also enabled us to directly connect what the network had learned to the physics of the complex system it was modeling," Hassanzadeh said.

"Deep neural networks are infamously hard to understand and are often considered 'black boxes,'" he said. "That is one of the major concerns with using deep neural networks in scientific applications. The other is generalizability: These networks cannot work for a system that is different from the one for which they were trained."

Hassanzadeh's team first performed the Fourier transformation on the equation of its fully trained deep-learning model. Each of the model's approximately 1 million parameters act like multipliers, applying more or less weight to specific operations in the equation during model calculations. In an untrained model, parameters have random values. These are adjusted and honed during training as the algorithm gradually learns to arrive at predictions that are closer and closer to the known outcomes in training cases. Structurally, the model parameters are grouped in some 40,000 five-by-five matrices, or kernels.

The Perpetrators "IndyWatch Feed World"

Yes, Putin and his henchmen should be prosecuted for war crimes. So should those who led the invasion of Iraq.

By George Monbiot, published in the Guardian 20th March 2023

It goes beyond hypocrisy. Its an assault on memory. Gordon Brown, calling for a special tribunal to punish the Russian government, correctly states that an act of aggression invading another nation was identified by the Nuremberg tribunal as the supreme international crime. It is, he wrote in the Guardian, not just Vladimir Putin who should be prosecuted, but also his henchmen. These include members of the Russian and perhaps Belarusian national security councils, and a range of political and military leaders. All should be held to account for this manifestly illegal war, he wrote on his website.

Condoleezza Rice, who was George W Bushs national security adviser, was asked of Russias aggression on Fox News, when you invade a sovereign nation, that is a war crime? She replied: It is certainly against every principle of international law and international order.

Brown and Rice are right about Russia. Its government, in invading Ukraine, has clearly committed the crime of aggression, a crime in which, as Brown points out, its senior officials are complicit. The same applies to the US and UK governments, which invaded Iraq 20 years ago today. Among the most senior perpetrators were Rice and Brown.

The seventh of the Nuremberg Principles, which Brown cites in calling for Russian prosecutions, points out that complicity in a war of aggression is a crime under international law. Both officials would clearly qualify as complicit. Rice was one of the architects of the war. Brown, as a cabinet member, was party to the decision. As Chancellor of the Exchequer, he financed the war.

No one can credibly deny that the invasion of Iraq met the Nuremberg definition. The Chilcot inquiry, whose terms were set by Brown when he was prime minister, was forbidden to pronounce on the legality of the war. But it concluded that the UK chose to join the invasion of Iraq before the peaceful options for disarmament had been exhausted. Military action at that time was not a last resort. In other words, it failed to meet the UN charters criteria for legal warfare. The fo...

Creating a World Worth Saving From Climate Change "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

In this weeks WhoWhatWhy podcast, we delve into the issue of climate change, as underscored by the latest UN climate reports warning of impending catastrophic warming in the face of indifference, if not resistance, on the part of most of the worlds population.

Our guest, Paul Hawken, author of bestsellers Drawdown and Regeneration and a prominent figure in the environmental movement, shares his insights on tackling climate change. Hawken highlights the significance of his Regeneration movement, which is rapidly gaining momentum worldwide with the aim of ending the climate crisis within a single generation.

He explains that this movement integrates issues of justice, climate, biodiversity, equity, and human dignity into a comprehensive framework for action, policy, and transformation. To captivate humanitys attention, Hawken asserts that we must first create a world worth saving from the threat of global warming.

Discussing the need for holistic solutions, Hawken emphasizes learning from Earths feedback and the importance of collective action over individual efforts. Although he acknowledges the role of technology, he recognizes that it alone cannot solve the problem, especially since technology has contributed significantly to the crisis.

Hawken contends that calls to action that rely on fear are more paralyzing than motivating. By understanding our disengagement from such a crucial issue, he believes we may actually find the path toward a solution. In his book Regeneration, Hawken offers a counterargument to those who think it is too late to address the climate crisis.

SheepShaver: A Cross-Platform Tool For Retro Enthusiasts "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

The world of desktop computing has coalesced into what is essentially a duopoly, with Windows machines making up the bulk of the market share and Apple carving out a dedicated minority. This relatively stable state hasnt always existed, though, as the computing scene even as late as the 90s was awash with all kinds of competing operating systems and various incompatible hardware. Amiga, Unix, OS/2, MacOS, NeXT, BeOS, as well as competing DOSes, were all on the table at various points.

If youve still got a box running one of these retro systems, SheepShaver might be able to help expand your software library. Its not the sort of virtualization that were used to in the modern world, with an entire operating system running on a sanctioned-off part of your system. But SheepShaver does allow you to run software written for MacOS 7.5.2 thru 9.0.4 in a different environment. Unix and Linux are both supported, as well as Mac OS X, Windows NT, 2000, and XP, and the enigmatic BeOS. Certain configurations allow applications to run natively without any emulation at all, and there is plenty of hardware support built-in as well.

For anyone running retro hardware from the late 90s or early 00s, this could be just the ticket to get an application running that wasn...

The Goldilocks and the Three Bears Approach to Redevelopment "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

As an urban designer representing a municipal redevelopment agency, I met with a lot of developers and builders. They all asked the same question: What can I build on x lot? The first time I was asked this question, I did not understand exactly what they were asking. I would pull out the community plan showing colorful renderings or share the community vision. I would describe the various development incentives or how they could do multiple uses.

The art of a successful redevelopment project is understanding the regulations and the process for approval of the project. Conflicting and confusing zoning regulations are the norm and not the exception. On top of that, communities tend to adopt lengthy public approval processes through hearings with a planning commission or votes with a city council. All of this creates a complex path similar to a game of chutes and ladders. As a result, it requires a lot of capital to hire a consultant to slug through the system, or a generous subsidy for a developer to realize the project will not work. Both results are equally bad and end in the same place.

'Time Reflections' Finally Observed by Physicists After Decades of Searching "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Reflections in time instead of space:

Walk through a maze of mirrors, you'll soon come face to face with yourself. Your nose meets your nose, your fingertips touch at their phantom twins, stopped abruptly by a boundary of glass.

Most of the time, a reflection needs no explanation. The collision of light with the mirror's surface is almost intuitive, its rays set on a new path through space with the same ease as a ball bouncing off a wall.

For over sixty years, however, physicists have considered a subtly different kind of reflection. One that occurs not through the three dimensions of space, but in time.

Now researchers from the City University of New York's Advanced Science Research Center (CUNY ASRC) have turned the theory of 'time reflections' into practice, providing the first experimental evidence of its manipulation across the electromagnetic spectrum.

[...] Put aside thoughts of TARDIS-like technologies rewriting history. This kind of time reflection is even weirder. And, it seems, actually possible after all.

By the 1970s, it was becoming clear that there was an analog for spatial reflection in the time component of a quantum wave of light. Change the medium a wave is traveling through quickly enough, in just the right way, and the temporal component of the wave will change with it.

The effect of this reflection in time isn't going to rip a hole in reality. But It will shift the frequency of the wave, in ways technology could exploit across varied fields like imaging, analogue computing, and optical filtering.

Strangely, the 'echo' of altered frequency is also a reversal of the signal. If it was an echo of your voice counting one to ten, you'd hear each number spoken backwards, from ten back to one, in a chipmunk squeak.

Since hostilities erupted last month in the city of Laascaanood, in the Sool region, Somalia, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced within Somalia, and close to 100,000 are estimated to have crossed the border into Ethiopia to escape the violence.

Most of the new arrivals in Ethiopia are women, children, older people and people with specific needs, who arrive with nothing, scared and hungry. Among them are a high number of unaccompanied and separated children, which heightens protection concerns.

The humanitarian situation on the ground is dire, with moderate acute malnutrition observed in many children under five and in pregnant and nursing mothers. There is a high risk of disease outbreaks, with worrying reports of measles cases in the area.

The Ethiopian Government and local communities have generously welcomed the refugees, extending any help they can, but with the continuing arrivals, resources are already severely overstretched, said Clementine Nkweta-Salami, UNHCRs Regional Director for t...

Israel's attorney general on Friday warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he has violated the law by saying he would get personally involved in the government's highly controversial judicial overhaul.

Gali Baharav-Miara's remarks were made in response to Netanyahu's speech a day earlier when he vowed to press ahead with the reforms, including plans to give the government full control over the committee that appoints judges, which he has said will pass in the Knesset next week.

Netanyahu, who is on trial for corruption, also vowed to pass a key bill next week that would place the power to make appointments to the Supreme Court directly in the hands of the coalition government.

The prime minister's statement came hours after parliament passed a key piece of legislation on Thursday that would shield him from being declared unfit for office by the attorney general.

In the following video, satanic CHABAD rabbis openly state that Western Civilization is Todays Amalek and further confirm that the CHABAD god [Satan] urges that the CHABAD must kill all White Christians:

https://t.me/TheCrowhousechat/373352

In the video, these CHABAD rabbis openly state: god tells us we should ERASE their memory and we should eradicate them from the face of the Earth. So, when a Jew enters into ERETZ, the land of Israel, what should he do? The first step [is to] appoint a king; step two is to destroy Amalek.

Who is Amalek? Amalek comes from Esau. Esau was a brother to Jacob. In modern-day terms, Esau is basically America; Esau became Edom; Edom became Rome; Rome became Christianity and, ultimately, Christianity became Western Civilization.

So Esau today means Western Civilization. Esau is Europe and the United States; indeed any nation that has the religion of Christianity can be considered Esau. The throne of god is incomplete until we destroy Amalek. [We require] the audacity [or] the chutzpah to destroy Amalek and to CUT OFF all the offspring of the nation of Amalek.

New Pirate IPTV Bill Moved to Senate as Italy Takes on Digital Mafias "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

footballItalian consumers love for pirate IPTV services and the alleged damage suffered by broadcasters and the countrys world-famous clubs at the hands of those services, have been on a collision course for some time.

Italy has operated an administrative pirate site-blocking program for years. It currently blocks around 3,200+ pirate domains, with telecoms regulator AGCOM sometimes issuing blocking instructions to ISPs within days of a rightsholder complaint.

Defending live sporting events from ubiquitous pirate IPTV streams demands a whole lot more, though. After gaining and maintaining momentum, alongside increasing political pressure, it seems likely that football clubs and broadcasters are about to collect.

Push For The Big Anti-Piracy Bill

By the middle of 2022, support for radical action to shut down the flow of pirate streams was building in Italy. Unprecedented blocking measures, new powers for telecoms regulator AGCOM, punishments for stream suppliers, even punishments for those in the telecoms sector who fail to block them, sat firmly on the table.

Working against the clock in December 2022, the new standards were laid out, one in particular. ISPs would be required to block pirate IPTV streams without delay and in real time most likely having been informed well in advance of what to shut down.

Anti-Piracy Bill Unanimously Approved

This week in the Chamber of Deputies, Italys lower house of parliament, the football and broadcasting industry-developed anti-piracy bill was unanimously waved through to the final.

If the bill meets with the approval of the Senate, as it almost certainly will, the new law will attempt to strangle the availability of pirate streams and punish suppliers and consumers of those that get through.

A US air base in al-Omar oil field in northeast Syria's Deir Ezzor province was attacked on Friday morning, security sources told Reuters.

The White House later confirmed that no American personnel were injured in the attack, which it described as a reaction to a US retaliatory strike.

On Thursday afternoon, a US contractor was killed and five American servicemen were wounded by a kamikaze drone attack "of Iranian origin" on a US-led coalition base near northeastern Syria's Hasakah, the US military said.

The US Central Command (Centcom) added that it responded by attacking facilities used by "groups affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps" (IRGC).

US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin said President Joe Biden ordered the strikes.

Good news comes with a catch in Haiti. Of course, its good news that the 19,200 people who faced famine-like conditions in October no longer do. This was against the odds, with the World Food Programme (WFP) working with its implementing partners to reel people back from the brink, gaining access to Cit Soleil.

Hunger levels remain extremely worrying however. This impoverished part of Port-au-Prince, home to around 100,000 people, is where the rivalry of armed gangs, which have overrun most of the capital, regularly finds its most violent expression.

US airstrikes target Syrian troops in Dayr al-Zawr; no Iranian killed

Press TV March 24, 2023

The US military has carried out multiple airstrikes in eastern Syria in another flagrant breach of Syrias sovereignty, killing a number of Syrian military forces.

The US military earlier alleged that Iran-aligned groups carried out a drone attack on a US-occupied base in northeastern Syria. A US contractor was killed, another was injured, and five US troops were wounded in the attack.

At the direction of President [Joe] Biden, I authorized US Central Command forces to conduct precision airstrikes tonight in eastern Syria against facilities used by groups affiliated with Irans Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin said in the statement, issued late Thursday.

However, local sources pointed out that the target was not an Iran-aligned military post as the US military claimed, but rather a rural development center and a grain center in Hrabash neighborhood, near Dayr al-Zawr military airport.

Meanwhile, no Iranian was killed in the act of aggression.

A military source in Syria told Press TV that the resistance groups reserve their right to respond to the American attack and will take reciprocal action.

Forever Wars vs. Armageddon "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

Human Wrongs Watch

By Ann Garrison | Black Agenda Report TRANSCEND Media Service*

The call for the U.S. to end military involvements is often made in order to advocate for new wars against more powerful countries. It appears that the only choices are forever wars or the end of the world.

Biden vs Xi Jinping

15 Mar 2023 While the worlds attention is focused on the US proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, 900 US troops continue to occupy Syria, as they have since 2017 , and 2,000 remain stationed in Iraq, 20 years after the US attacked, overthrew its government, and hung its president. Around 500 have been in Somalia since Biden redeployed them in June 2022.

On March 8, the House and Senate Foreign Relations Committees voted for resolutions to repeal the 1991 and 2002 Authorizations of Military Force (AUMFs) against Iraq, but that was hardly a victory for the antiwar community because US troops remain with the acquiescence of the current Iraqi government, and even so, its not clear that the House and Senate will pass the resolutions.

Also on March 8, the House voted down House Concurrent Resolution 21 to withdraw all US troops from Syria within 180 days in accordance with the 1973 War Powers Act, which states that US armed forces cannot be sent to war unless Congress declares war or unless a national emergency is created by attack on the US.

EPA Asks for More Public Input on Asbestos After ProPublica and Others Reveal New Information "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

ProPublica is a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power. Sign up for Dispatches, a newsletter that spotlights wrongdoing around the country, to receive our stories in your inbox every week.

The Environmental Protection Agency took an unusual step last week: It opened a new period in which the public can comment on its proposed asbestos ban. The agency had gotten new information, officials said, including a series of ProPublica reports on dangerous working conditions in factories that use asbestos to make chlorine.

Asbestos has been long known to cause deadly cancers and other serious illnesses. While dozens of countries have outlawed the substance, the U.S. still imports hundreds of tons each year, mostly for use in chlorine manufacturing.

Last spring, the EPA proposed a ban on chrysotile, or white asbestos, the most common type. People had until July to submit comments. More than 150 did, the EPA said.

In their comments, the chlorine companies said that workers in their plants had handled asbestos safely for decades and that requiring manufacturers to quickly transition to newer, asbestos-free technology could cause a shortage of the chlorine used to disinfect drinking water.

Then, in October, ProPublica revealed that workers in a Niagara Falls, New York, plant were regularly exposed to asbestos until the facility closed in 2021 for unrelated reasons. Experts called the conditions described by workers unacceptable and fraught with danger. The company that ran the plant, OxyChem, said the workers accounts were not accurate but would not specify what information was incorrect. ProPublicas report also detailed how chlorine companies have quietly fought against a ban for decades, even though they use modern, asbestos-free technology in some of their plants.

ProPublica later reported that workers at four other plants had observed un...

The accused persons include Udeh Henry Chukwuedo (32), Dike Onyekahi Samuel (27) and Rabbi Godwin Nana (29).

Fish kills leave Kenyas Lake Victoria farmers at a loss, seeking answers "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

KISUMU, Kenya It is a little past 5 p.m. at the lakeside city of Kisumu, in the western part of Kenya. An hour later, the sun sets over the sprawling Lake Victoria as far as the eye can see. Wisps of gray clouds are infused with the suns amber rays, which reflect off the lake in a bedazzling shimmer. The scene is captivating, but a faint stench lingers in the air. That stench, to many cage fish farmers, is a painful reminder of the extensive losses they suffered in November 2022 due to fish kills. A report commissioned by Kenyas State Department for Fisheries, Aquaculture and the Blue Economy estimates that cage farmers in different sections of Lake Victoria, particularly Kisumu and Homa Bay towns, lost more than 900 million shillings ($7.2 million) to fish kills in 2022. While the scientists Mongabay speaks to attribute the fish kills to a combination of natural phenomena and climate change, the fish farmers are wary of those explanations, saying the deaths could be a result of pollution. Fish farmers in Lake Victoria mainly stock tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), which, according to scientists, are preferred due to their fast growth, resistance to disease and ability to withstand low dissolved oxygen levels. Tilapia and Nile perch (Lates niloticus) are the two most abundant fish species in the lake, and tilapia is more profitable in the local market. Two of the fish farms, Kentila Farms and Lake Aqua Limited, suffered the greatest losses: 200.4 million shillingsThis article was originally published on Mongabay

Delta LP Guber Candidate, Pele Rejects Election Result, Alleges Thuggery, Vote Buying, Intimidation "IndyWatch Feed Africa"

PELA

LAGOS MARCH 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The Delta State Labour Party (LP) Governorship Candidate, Deacon Kennedy Pela has rejected the  results of the just concluded governorship election that announced Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples  Democratic Party, (PDP) winner, saying that PDP did not win the election.

Pela in press statement made available to Journalists, described the process as a flagrant vote buying and intimidation by power of incumbency.

The statement reads in parts; I write to inform you today with a very heavy heart, having just witnessed experientially the ineptitude of our democratic and electoral process. I understand the results of the elections have been announced and I can only weep for the next generations in Delta State in particular and Nigeria in general as this particular election will be recorded in the annals of our history as the most duplicitous, phony and treacherous election ever carried out in Nigeria by the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC did not only fail to leave up to its billing during the Presidential Elections on 25th February, 2023 but their attitude during and after that election set the stage for the brazen level of unfairness, injustice, disenfranchisement, impunity and disregard for the rule of law that characterized the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections on Saturday the 18th of March 2023, as exemplified INEC.

He said; Huge level of voter apathy across the land as a result of INECs conduct in the Presidential elections. Further disenfranchisement of voters as a result of serious violence and voter/agents intimidation by thugs, police officers, military personnel and INEC officials controlled by both the APC and the PDP

Widespread and unprecedented level of vote buying by both the APC and the PDP with the

connivance of security agencies and INEC officials. Manipulation of the results at the collation centers by both the APC and the PDP after intimidating and chasing away LP agents with thugs, police officers and military personnel controlled by both the APC and the PDP.

This was an election that was supposed to be guided by electoral laws and democratically determined by the choice of the people but once again the will of the people have been subverted by the PDP and APC candidates directly as was wi...

Blinken suggests role for diplomacy on Ukraine borders "IndyWatch Feed War"

AFP March 23, 2023

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday suggested a role for diplomacy in determining Ukraines future borders, while reaffirming that any peace decisions were for Kyiv to make.

Blinken has repeatedly said that the war will need to end with diplomacy but has dismissed the near-term prospects for talks, believing Russia is not serious, and focused on aiding Ukraines military to repel the invasion.

Appearing before Congress, Blinken appeared to accept that Ukrainian forces would not be able to win back all of the territory in their sights.

I think theres going to be territory in Ukraine that the Ukrainians are determined to fight for on the ground; there may be territory that they decide that theyll have to try to get back in other ways, Blinken said.

He was responding to a question from Republican Representative Chris Stewart who asked if the United States backed President Volodymyr Zelensky in seeking to take back Crimea, which was seized and annexed by Moscow in 2014.

My great fear is not a recognition that Crimea is different than the eastern Donbas region, Stewart said, referring to the area of heavy fighting in the invasion.

If our commitment and our agreement with Mr Zelensky is we will support you whatever you want to achieve, including no Russian presence at all in Crimea, then were asking for a world of hurt, he said.

Blinken stressed that these have to be Ukrainian decisions about what they want their future to be and how that lands in terms of the sovereignty, the territorial integrity the independence of the country.

What we dont want, for everyones interests, is to have this settle in a place and in a way that simply invites the Russians to reset, rearm and then re-attack, he said.

The United States and its European allies all have refused to recognize Moscows annexation of Crimea, where Russia held a 2014 referendum not accepted by Kyiv or the West.

Speaking at the Davos forum in January, Zelensky said Ukraine aimed to take back Crimea which he called our land. Moscow has refused to include Crimea, where Russian speakers form a majority, in possible peace talks.

Ukrainians getting military targets from CIA satellites Times "IndyWatch Feed War"

Ukrainian soldiers awaiting orders to fire British made howitzers on Russian trenches, March 4, 2023.

RT.com March 23, 2023

Soldiers of Ukraines Thor special operations group are using satellite data provided by the CIA to choose targets when conducting drone strikes against Russian forces, the units commander told The Times.

The 27-man group, which is formally a police special operations unit, functions independently from the Ukrainian army and works in close collaboration with the countrys military intelligence, the GUR, which provides them with ammunition and intel. According to The Times, the unit has complete license to select its missions, where it barracks and when it fights.

The units commander, whose name is said to also be Thor, claims he uses a special application on a tablet that is synced to a CIA satellite to select potential targets for their attacks.

We select targets in the program, and targets can be placed there both by the CIA satellite and by our own satellite, which our volunteers pay for. Information is collected from all kinds of sources there. We choose, then we arrive and conduct our own reconnaissance, Thor told the outlet.

Another member of the group told the Times that Thor also intentionally uses drones to maim rather than kill Russian servicemen. These ones are to wound the Russians, Aleksander, 30, told The Times as he armed a 3D-printed drone with mining explosives. Take an arm or a leg, he will be a burden on the state forever, he said.

According to the Times, all members of Thor are veterans of Ukraines 2014 military operation against anti-Kiev rebels in the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. Both territories, along with the Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, were incorporated into Russia last year following public referendums.

Moscow has long accused the US and its allies of being directly involved in the Ukraine conflict and essentially waging a proxy war against Russia by continuing to provide Kievs forces with increasingly advanced weaponry, ammunition and intelligence.

CNC Intaglio-Esque Engraving "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Intaglio is an ancient carving technique for adding details to a workpiece, by manually removing material from a surface with only basic hand tools. If enough material depth is removed, the resulting piece can be used as a stamp, as was the case with rings, used to stamp the wax seals of verified letters. [Nicolas Tranchant] works in the jewelry industry, and wondered if he could press a CNC engraving machine into service to engrave gemstones in a more time-efficient manner than the manual carving methods of old.

Engraving and machining generally work only if the tool you are using is mechanically harder than the material the workpiece is made from. In this case, this property is measured on the Mohs scale, which is a qualitative measurement of the ability of one (harder) material to scratch another. Diamond is the hardest known material on the Mohs scale and has a Mohs hardness of 10, so it can produce a scratch on the surface of say, Corundum Mohs value 9 but not the other way around.

Army Establishes First Permanent Garrison on NATOs Eastern Flank "IndyWatch Feed War"

Kyle Anzalone Libertarian Institute March 21, 2023

The US Army has officially opened its first permanent military garrison on NATOs eastern flank in a ceremony on Tuesday.

Stretching from the Baltics to the Black Sea, the eastern portion of the North Atlantic bloc is made up of eight nations all former members of the USSR or Warsaw Pact. The US Armys V Corps will now have a lasting presence at Camp Kosciuszko in Poland.

The V Corps commanding general, Lt. Gen. John Kolasheski, explained the garrison showed that Washington is deepening its military commitments in Eastern Europe. The relationship of the US and Poland serves as an example of the deepening ties throughout the alliance, he said, adding todays activation ceremony is a tangible reminder of the growth in our relationship.

As the Soviet Union crumbled in the early 1990s, Western leaders repeatedly assured Moscow that NATO would not expand into former USSR states or establish bases in Eastern Europe. However, since the George H.W. Bush administration offered those guarantees, all subsequent US presidents have violated the pledge and pushed NATOs military footprint closer to Russias borders.

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Baszczak described the garrison as historic, saying that Warsaw has been striving for this for years for this word permanent and it has now become fact. He continued, this is a historic moment, a sign that the United States is committed to Poland and NATO, and that we are united in the face of Russian aggression.

The Pentagon currently has two officers stationed at Camp Kosciuszko and 200 additional troops at the base on a rotational basis. As Washington had already kept about 10,000 troops in Poland previously, an analyst at the Polish Institute of International Affairs, Artur Kacprzyk, argued the significance of the new garrison is primarily symbolic.

Poland has been a key hub for Western arms shipments to Ukraine given its location. While Camp Kosciuszko is not located near the border, an American diplomat explained the garrison was created to confront Russia. In a statement shared on Twitter, US Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski said the decision to open a long-term base proves that the United States is committed to Poland and the NATO alliance, and that we are united in the face of Russian ag...

In St Louis, the short-bus District Attorney, Kim Gardner, has been shut down hard for performing sex on The Ectoplasmic Ghost of George Soros in the public square about a hundred times. In New York, The Grand Jury, which is usually a slam dunk for the prosecution, cant agree on an indictment for Trump. Strange changes are on The Wind and welcome they are indeed.

Im trying to make an arrangement with Heaven, where I can direct an invisible homing ray at everyone messing with the weather so that they void themselves from fear and lay trembling in their own excrement for 24 hours the first time I send it after them. The second time would be a bit more severe, to the extent that there would never no way ever be a third time. I realize that this might mean a little additional Karma for me, but some Karmas are worth having.

Im talking about every kind of weather; the physical climate the emotional climate the mental climate and the spiritual climate. Are the Matt Hancock revelations just a limited hang-out? "IndyWatch Feed War"

Irish Savant irishsavant.net March 21, 2023

The decline and fall of Matt Hancock, until recently Britains Health Secretary, continues apace. And its hard to name anyone more deserving than this conniving little toad who used the Covid scamdemic to wreak havoc on Britain over the last few years. The latest salvo arrived in the form of The Lockdown Files, a treasure trove of Hancocks Whatsapp messages released by journalist Isabel Oakshott after she was commissioned to ghost-write Pandemic Diaries, his Covid memoirs. Whether Oakshotts action in releasing those messages to The Telegraph was an act of gross treachery, as Hancock claims, or, as she counters, a brave act of public service is largely irrelevant.

Everyone admits that the revelations are not flattering to him. (You can get a summary here.) However, for anyone looking for a smoking gun to prove the whole scamdemic to be a globalist/WEF/WHO plot to facilitate their broader agenda will not find it in these messages. Even the seemingly damning threat to release the new strain of the virus is in reality very far from what it seems. Quote: Mr Hancock says: We frighten the pants of everyone with the new strain. The adviser responds: Yep, thats what will get proper behaviour change. The minister then asks: When do we deploy the new variant. Mr Hancock announced the new variant the following day.

Health Minister Matt Hancock (right), with his REAL boss Bill Gates. Click to enlarge

Yes, Hancock comes out of it poorly. Almost everyone does as far as I can ascertain. Bullying, indecision, manipulation of police and media, incompetence. But.the argument can be made that everyone, albeit in his or her own particular way, worked to prevent a deadly virus from cutting a swathe through the British people. If however youre like me looking for evidence that they were all in on it you wont find it among these messages.

So does this mean that we conspiracy theorists were wrong about connivance at the highest levels? Of course not. The tsunami of evidence to the contrary is overwhelming. How can we explain it then? You could argue that the messages were from the beginning orchestrated and fabricated to provide a cover story but, come on, thats over the top. However it might just represent a...

UK health system director admits it was all a lie: hospitals blamed deaths on covid to create the ILLUSION of a pandemic "IndyWatch Feed War"

Ethan Huff Natural News March 22, 2023

A former end-of-life caretaker from Great Britain has come forward to blow the whistle about how authorities at the United Kingdoms National Health Service (NHS) blatantly lied about covid deaths in order to inflate the covid numbers as part of the psy-op plandemic.

While previous to covid there were four different types of pneumonia that comprised the primary cause of death in the UK, that number was reduced to zero after the pandemic was declared, we now know. Instead, a newly implemented Medical Examiner System for death certifications instructed medical personnel to categorize all pneumonia deaths as covid, which is how the covid death numbers eventually grew into the millions both in the UK and all around the world.

Sai, as the whistleblower is calling himself or herself, tweeted a personal account of what took place at the NHS after covid was publicly announced. Suddenly, just about every type of respiratory ailment leading to death was being lumped into the covid category, which is how and why the death figures soared.

When four different diseases [are] grouped and now being called covid-19, you will inevitably see covid-19 with a huge death rate, Sai revealed. The mainstream media was reporting on this huge increase in covid-19 deaths due to the Medical Examiner System being in place.

Patients being admitted and dying with very common conditions such as old age, myocardial infarctions, end-stage kidney failure, haemorrhages, strokes, COPD and cancer etc., were all now being certified as covid-19 via the Medical Examiner System.

(Related: The FDA and CDC also lied about covid deaths to artificially pad the numbers and create a fake pandemic.)

NHS hospitals switched back and forth between new system and old as it suited the covid agenda

The old system of categorizing deaths did not completely go away, Sai explained. It was still around for hospitals to use when they pleased, according to the account, though when covid deaths needed to be increased, the hospital would switch to the Medical Examiner System.

Further, hospitals were incentivized to report covid deaths over regular deaths with cash payments from the government, meaning cash payments from taxpayers.

I have no doubt in my mind that the government has planned the entire pandemic since 2016 when they first proposed the change to medical death certification, Sai further noted about the scam.

As of this writing, Sais entire Twitter thread containing these revelations is...

Russian Coders Blocked From Contributing to FOSS Tools "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Russian coders blocked from contributing to FOSS tools:

The Reg has seen two recent incidents of Russian developers being blocked from public development of FOSS code. One was a refusal on the Linux kernel mailing list, the other a more general block on Github. In the last week, these events have both caused active, and sometimes heated, discussions in FOSS developer communities.

The GitHub account of developer Alexander Amelkin has been blocked, and his repositories marked as "archived" including ipmitool, whose README describes it as "a utility for managing and configuring devices that support the Intelligent Platform Management Interface." Unable to comment on Github itself, Amelkin described what happened on the project's older Soureforge page:

Sorry to say, but on March 1st without any prior notice or any explanation whatsoever, GitHub has suspended my personal account and made orphan all the projects that I owned/maintained.

That includes ipmitool and frugen.

This mailing list and the old sourceforge project page are the only means of communication with you that I have left. I am currently searching for a way to unblock my GitHub or (less preferably) migrate ipmitool once again to another less hostile service.

Amelkin works for Russian chipbuilder Yadro, which we described as working on RISC-V chips back in 2021. Microsoft is just obeying US law in this: according to the War and Sanctions database of the Ukrainian National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the NACP, Yadro is a sanctioned company.

However, on LinkedIn, Amelkin disputes his employer's involvement:

You may rest assured that this "sanctioned corporation" takes no part in this awful war, and even if making civilian server products can be viewed as somehow taking part, that part is definitely far less than what, say, BMW or Bosch took in WW2, yet nobody seems to have cancelled them or at least remembered what they've done, let alone their individual employees. All this is stupid, xenophobic and racist. Especially you labelling me as a terrorist on the basis of my ethnicity.

The iPhone moment for A.I. hype takes many hues, but Nvidia is about the future of computing itself. NVIDIA DGX supercomputers, originally used as an AI research instrument, are now running 24/7 at businesses across the world to refine data and process AI.

While OpenAI gets a lot of the glory, I believe the credit should go to Nvidia. Launched late last year, ChatGPT went mainstream almost instantaneously, attracting over 100 million users, making it the fastest-growing application in history. We are at the iPhone moment of AI, Huang said. Nvidia makes about $6 to $7 Billion a fiscal quarter in revenue.

Nvidia said its offering a new set of cloud services that will allow businesses to create and use their own AI models based on their proprietary data and specific needs. The new services, called Nvidia AI Foundations, include three major components and are meant to accelerate enterprise adoption of generative AI: Enterprises can use Nvidia NeMo language service or Nvidia Picasso image, video and 3D service to gain access to foundation models that can generate text or images based on user inputs.

The real why is simply that all urban benefits are now available. Power and water was always necessary but also deliverable.  The real biggy was internet access providing access to scholarship of all kinds.  folks have woken up to working at home and for a familly, a pocket farm really works.

Better yet modern housing is easily provided.  just because we can build a log cabin or old time shack and do power off grid, few will do so.  Why bother?

Otherwise a pocket farm does have real economic potential as well.  After all, intensive gardening takes up  about one acre before it becomes too much work and a job.  It certainly keeps trhe children busy.

We could not survive without the giant ball of fire that our planet revolves around, and so the stability of our sun is of the utmost importance. Unfortunately, it has started to behave very erratically lately. Scientists are telling us that they think everything is just fine, but the truth is that they dont really know. We are witnessing activity that is truly unusual, and I believe that should deeply alarm all of us. In fact, I am entirely convinced that the behavior of the sun will become a really big story in the years ahead.

Yes this is important because we really do not actually understand it all.  That alone is important.

My own thoughts on all this presently accept that our so called subconsious may actually be dedicated spirit bodies from past lives providing some form of ongoing guidance.  Typically more than one may be involved, but what is does do is expand our inventory of available experience.

Trouble is that we presume this is all linked to our own self identified consiousness which we do continously train through memory and logic.  Recall muscle memory as well.  It is not just our obvious cognitive mind.  Easy to see why we are confused.

Now just how do animals do all this?  We know they share thoughts at least and of course act on it.

It is my conjecture, supported by an individual report in which mankind gave up that special talent 45,000 years ago. that we are unique in not easily sharing and possibgly assigning a higher potential state to spirit informants.  Or did we have those informants when we shared images instead.

New Conjecture :  Consiousness begans when we question the information provided by the  subconsious.  That also trains our mind as well...
