Lying about Lying: Why We Must Revisit the Definition of Fake News MintPress News

The phrase fake news continues to be deployed routinely in US politics. In a polarized political atmosphere, both Republicans and Democrats distrust media organizations affiliated with opposing parties. This means that most of what is uttered or written by CNN is fake news for Republicans, and much of what appears in Republicans-affiliated media is fake news for Democrats.

The phrase is now so prevalent and has multiple meanings to the point that it is impossible to agree on a common definition. Even fact checking organizations or news desks contribute to the troubling phenomenon of fake news by selectively fact-checking news and information affiliated with one side of the political aisle while ignoring the other.

Some traced the fake news story to a small Eastern European town called Veles in Macedonia. This particular claim is associated with Craig Silverman, a media editor at Buzzfeed. We ended up finding a small cluster of news websites all registered in the same town, Silverman was quoted by the BBC. The objective of these websites seemed mostly financial, clickbait as they are called, to lure in unsuspecting users to seemingly unlikely headlines.

Later, the term became very political. It was former US President Donald Trump who publicized the term, transforming it into the major phenomenon seen today. Mike Wendling of the BBC, however, claimed that it was Trumps staunch rival in the 2016 US Presidential elections, Hillary Clinton, who first used the term in a speech in December of the same year.

Manufactured consent

Actually, fake news predates both Clinton and Trump. When I first moved to the United States over two decades ago, I recall my total shock at seeing the headlines of print tabloids, always positioned at the center of major US grocery stores: From unsubstantiated celebrity scandals to breaking news about aliens impregnating human females before returning to their home planet. Even as a newcomer to the country, it was obvious to me that such rubbish was also fake news. Sadly, these tabloids were often sold faster than legitimate newspapers, which suggests that the biggest challenge posed by fake news is our gullibility and will...

Half of 'long Covid' sufferers have never had Covid, says new study Signs of the Times

The battle of ideas around Covid has few clashes as hotly contested as Long Covid. Alarmists have hyped the frequency and severity with which infection causes long-term damage. Sceptics see no reason for panic. A new study helps to settle at least part of this debate. The paper in the Journal of the American Medical Association's (JAMA) Network Open looked at "post-COVID-19 condition (PCC) in young people after mild acute infection" to find how common it was and to find risk factors. Participants were aged between 12 and 25. The authors offer this straightforward conclusion: "PCC was not associated with biological markers specific to viral infection." That is, participants were equally likely to suffer from 'Long Covid', whether or not they had suffered from acute COVID-19. The researchers concluded that Long Covid is predicted by "initial symptom severity" and, intriguingly, "psychosocial factors".

Signature verification software used by Maricopa County says 10% is 'high-confidence' match Signs of the Times

With Kari Lake's legal complaint alleging systematic signature verification failures in Maricopa County remanded by the Arizona Supreme Court to trial court, closer examination of the signature verification software used by the county reveals a strikingly low threshold for signatures to qualify as "high-confidence" matches. Since falling about 17,000 votes short in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election to Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, Lake has continued to contest the election results in court, arguing that there were ballot chain of custody and signature verification issues in addition to thousands of Republican voters disproportionately disenfranchised on Election Day, when voting machine errors occurred in nearly 60% of the voting centers in Maricopa County. Lake has requested that the election results be invalidated or that she be declared the winner. Last week, the Arizona Supreme Court remanded Lake's claim alleging massive signature verification failure to the trial court,...

The New Normal Left Signs of the Times

So, I went to London to speak to the Left ... no, not "the Left" you're probably thinking of. Not the mask-wearing, Ukrainian-flag-flying Left. Not the pronoun-using, segregationist Left. Not the WEF, WHO, FBI, CIA, DHS, and MI6-loving Left. Not the global-capitalist New Normal Left. The other Left. The old-school Left. The "Covid-denying, conspiracy-theorizing, Putin-loving, far-right-extremist" Left. There were approximately 150 of us, and we gathered in a "homophobic church" in Islington. Yes, Islington, which is more or less the British headquarters of the New Normal Left. We did not care. "Let them come for us," we said. They didn't. It was a Saturday. They were probably out shopping or hunting down imaginary anti-Semites. So, we went ahead and did our thing. Our "thing" was a conference loosely based on leftist opposition to the WEF and its assorted dystopian visions for our future ... you know, eating the bugs, owning nothing, being happy, that kind of stuff. I was invited...

Tell Attorney-General Dreyfus to end the illegal imprisonment of Julian Assange - Thursday 10pm Mordialloc (We) can do better

From 10am until 12pm tomorrow, on Thursday 6 April, outside the electoral office of the Attorney General Mark Dreyfus in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Mordialloc, supporters of Julian Assange will be protesting to demand that the Australian government act to end the British Government's imprisonment of Julian Assange.

The Attorny-General Mark Dreyfus, as the most senior legal officer in Australia, must surely be aware that the British Government's imprisonment of Assange, who has broken no British or Australian law, in solitary confinement for 23 hours per day, is in violation of British law, international law and the First Amendment to the US constitution which guarantees the right to free speech. I would be most interested to hear from Mark Dreyfus, himself, why the Australian government has chosen not to act to end the illegal imprisonment of Assange, but I expect not to be given this opportunity.

Please come along to hear speeches, hold banners or hand out leaflets.

Speech: Why won't the Australian Government act to end the illegal imprisonment of Assange?

The video below, shows myself speaking at an earlier protest at the same location on Monday 27 February. In my speech, I ma...

Ukrainian Refugees in Munich A Real Crisis Armstrong Economics

COMMENT: Hi Martin,

I live in a commute in Munich in a nice neighborhood, I pay around 700 EUR rent for the smallest room, but we have a garden and live with a few Ukrainians. They are very nice, seem like reasonable folks.
What Im worried about though is the refugee system we have in place here in Bavaria. I wanted to move to another room, but I couldnt: was kind of too expensive, 800 EUR/month. Guess who took it, another Ukrainian of course, the state is paying it (Arbeitsamt). The crazy thing is that Im having trouble with inflation and because I additionally have to pay taxes so that Ukrainians can live in the most luxurious room of the house for more than a year already. I would have no problem supporting them for a few months. But the thing is, a year has passed and they dont even bother to search for work. They just go to German classes a few times a week. And spend most of the day talking and chilling in the kitchen. All of that while Munich is desperately searching for labour.

I also heard from sources, that they dont really seem to be interested to work. A contact of mine offered them work, but they told him they cant, as they are too busy learning German. Which I dont understand, I see them all the time having fun in our kitchen. They dont even really seem to learn German, one of them cant say more than Guten Tag after one year of German classes
Additionally, it seems like they are getting money from the state for leisure. As far as I have seen, they already went more often for traveling this past year through Europe than me. What I dont understand, they also seem to be traveling back and forth to Ukraine to visit friends and family. I dont get it, I thought that country was at war.
All in all, I think its good to help refugees. But when I have to suffer so that I can pay them to rent the best rooms in the house, while they have fun and are chilling in the kitchen, travel around Europe, even go visit their family in Ukraine while at war, and all that for more than a year, then the system doesnt seem to be very fair to me, something doesnt add up.
Best,

J

The incident occurred in shallow water at Waddy Point Beach, on Fraser Island, also known as K-gari - a World Heritage-listed island in Australia's Queensland region. The girl was bitten on the back of her head, suffered puncture wounds around one of her ears and was also hurt on her hands. A rescue helicopter was sent to the island to support the victim of the attack, which took place just after 4pm on Tuesday. The young child was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown, in stable conditions, to Hervey Bay Hospital in central Queensland.

Dozens of dolphins have washed up on Japan's beaches - No one knows why Signs of the Times

Eight dolphins were found washed up on beaches in the Greater Tokyo Area on Tuesday morning, according to local news reports. The mammals, identified as melon-headed whales, looked like they were struggling to breathe, said Mibu Saito, a local official who visited the site nearby Isumi and Ichinomiya in Chiba Prefecture. "I felt sorry for all those weak dolphins that had washed ashore and we still don't know why they were stranded there," Saito told VICE World News. Of the eight found, four were dead, while the rest were returned to the ocean. A day earlier, 33 dolphins were also found beached just a few hundred meters away. Passersby and surfers tried to carry or roll the dolphins towards the ocean, but two died, Saito said.

A dolphin was found dead on the Baltimore Avenue beach in Cape May Saturday morning, the 24th dolphin to become stranded on a New Jersey beach since December. Fox Philadelphia reported the dolphin was found on the Baltimore Avenue beach. A porpoise washed up on a beach in the Ortley Beach section of Toms River on Tuesday. Necropsy results are pending from the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. Porpoises and dolphins are both species of odontocetes or toothed whales. Porpoises have rounder faces and more triangular dorsal fins, while dolphins have more pointed beaks and dorsal fins.

Breaking Down Vaping Myths: Separating Fact From Fiction The Event Chronicle

Vaping has become a popular trend in recent years, with millions of people around the world using e-cigarettes as a way to quit smoking or simply as a hobby. However, it is often shrouded in myths and misconceptions, which can make it difficult for people to make informed decisions about whether or not to try it. In this article, well be breaking down some of the most common myths and separating fact from fiction.

Myth #1: Vaping is just as bad as smoking

Source: freepik.com

One of the most persistent myths about it is that its just as bad as smoking. This couldnt be further from the truth. While it does involve inhaling vapor, it doesnt contain the harmful tar and carbon monoxide found in cigarette smoke. In fact, a Public Health England report found that vaping is at least 95% less harmful than smoking.

That being said, its important to remember that vaping isnt completely risk-free. Some e-cigarette liquids contain nicotine, which is highly addictive and can be harmful to developing brains. In addition, there have been some reports of lung injuries associated with it. However, these cases are rare and are often linked to the use of illegal or unregulated vaping products.

Myth #2: Vaping is just for young people

Another common myth about it is that its only popular among young people. While its true that vaping has become increasingly popular among teenagers and young adults, its also popular among older adults who are trying to quit smoking.

In fact, many older adults find that it is a helpful tool for quitting smoking. Unlike traditional nicotine replacement therapies like gum and patches, perfect vape products allow users to simulate the experience of smoking while gradually reducing their nicotine intake. This can make it easier for smokers to quit for good.

Myth #3: Vaping is just as addictive as smoking

Australia isnt a real nation, its a US military base with kangaroos - article by Caitlin Johnstone (We) can do better

One of the many, many signs that Australia is nothing more than a US military and intelligence asset is the way its government has consistently refused to intervene to protect Australian citizen Julian Assange from political persecution at the hands of the US empire.

In a new article titled , The Guardian quotes Australias foreign minister as saying, We are doing what we can, between government and government, but there are limits to what that diplomacy can achieve. Wong said this when asked if Prime Minister Anthony Albanese discussed the worlds most famous with the US president and British prime minister when he met with them together two weeks ago.

Wong whether her governments leader had raised the issue with his supposed US and UK counterparts, repeating instead the same shes been since Labor took over: that the Assange case has dragged on long enough and should be brought to a close. Which if you listen carefully isnt actually a statement in favour of releasing the WikiLeaks founder or blocking extradition its just saying the case should be concluded hastily, one way or another.

Ukraine - The Road To War Terra Forming Terra

I do like this analysis. More critically, western policy has been folly when it comes to Russia and has been driven by the out right greed of our so called war industry rather than what was clearly in our interest from the very beginning. Yet Russia also had to both learn and mature.

All the other so called analysis has largely been excusing activity used to goad russia into some form of war.  What Russia obviously did was secure effective Russian provinces against Ukrainian attacks.  The Ukrainian now have to push dug in Russian forces out.

This can only happen with motivated well trained Ukrainian forces.  At best, there may be a few.

We have a lot of feel good stories out there but also no further change on the ground.  Everything i have seen so far conforms to a grab and hold approach by Russia, then allowing the Ukrainians to exhaust themselves in the trenches.  It takes serious training and real motivation to overcome a defensive trench warfare.  No sign of that at all.

Part One: The Road To War

https://www.globalresearch.ca/the-military-situation-in-the-ukraine/5778420

For years, from Mali to Afghanistan, I have worked for peace and risked my life for it. It is therefore not a question of justifying war, but of understanding what led us to it. [.]

Lets try to examine the roots of the [Ukrainian] conflict. It starts with those who for the last eight years have been talking about separatists or independentists from Donbass. This is a misnomer. The referendums conducted by the two self-proclaimed Republics of Donets...

FDA confirms Graphene Oxide is in the mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines Terra Forming Terra

Now i understand just what they were trying to do.  In 1993, I was paid to understand just how small particles of activated charcoal could be used to produce nanoparticles of a useful biological for skin care.  This was fifteen years before graphene itself was discovered.

What we were working with was not dangerous but also difficult to do.  The advent of graphene solved that as nano particles could now be produced.  My problem is that they are potentially dangerous but easy to slide through as safe.(NOT)

It is now turning out that they are dangerous as hell.  Because they are so called reduced, it means that they will attach to another pparticle and thus we see fibers show up.  Not good.  The body can handle a lot of all this, but is is hardly good news or practise.

That may well be good news because it separates it all out and the blood system can then bypass any blockage. Otherwise the particles are like shards of glass chwing up cells.

Plasma SPACE. Terra Forming Terra

 Plasma SPACE.

I am continuing my reading of the book by Robert Temple on Plasma, but before we go further i do want to suggest something.  We know that 98 % of the mass cannot be seen.  We Know that this mass is in the observed galaxies.  We also know that all particle creation must also be specific to any given galaxy.  Way more important and a complete error to ignore is that all such mass is sublight.  That means that it is all contained within those galaxys.

Past that it follows that our whole galaxy is a living ocean of our neutral neutron pairs which alone are able to generate enough gravity.  It still takes gravitational compression to produce decay events and we have that in spades with every star including our sun.  I do think we are watching neutral neutron pairs decaying into hydrogen.

There are other aspects to think about incuding conglomeration into proto elements in particular, but we need to get used to the idea that we are all breathing this and likely even walking through it or even passing through it with no capacity to detect.

The big take home is the lack of measurable drag,  Does a fish notice drag?

Understand that the so called ether of a century ago has been measured of late.  So yes, something is there and it is not impossibleum.

The point is that we are not able to detect 98% of our surrounding mass.  Of course it is spread out like cotton batten as compared to the matrial we can see and touch and it is out there certainly filling our whole solar system and likely our whole galaxy.

What i am trying to do here is to induce a mental flip in your thinking.  It was hard for me and cannot be any easier for you.,

Reversing Dementia, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, Autism and other neurological issues. Terra Forming Terra

I had an extended conversation today with my daughter on her ongoing spiritual researchs regarding the above medical problems.  Extremely insightful.  In fact, the future for all these has just brightened.

Two big take homes is that those diseases driven by physicological changes can be reversed using a deeply researched new supplement product.  It takes time but we have complete reversal in one autistic child to share and this is indicated for most of the rest as well.

The key problem to over come are microlesions both on the brain surface and also likely within the brain as well.  Simply reversing those micro lesions allows the brain to properly rewire.

This is very good news that can ultimately applied by any practicioner.

The second big take hame has been the complete reversal of dementia in a 93 year old woman.I have never heard of that happening before.  The process required extensive spiritual work with a family member that also engaged the rest of the family as well, but culminated with the womans spirit causing it all to happen. At no time was the patient communicated with because that was impossible.

What we learned is that the cognitive mind can block healing or any form of improvement even when the spirit of that person is standing by.  engaging that spirit remotely allowed resolution and a restoration of an active cognitive mind.  It is quite possible that cognitive minds can shut down almost in pursuit of death.

I now think that all forms of mental illness can be resolved.  It is still in most cases a process and we are even taking on chronic family disorders as well successfully.  Plenty of overlap obviously.  Yet it is early days and we will soon need talented folks to join in with the process.  We will need a community of spiritual practicioners.

From the persective of sharing this message, we understand that reversing dementia will provide best traction.  Everyone has been touched and millions of caregivers want to see a better outcome.  Th...

New study supports social contagion theory for surge in teen girls identifying as transgender Signs of the Times

A new study examining the recent epidemic of teenagers and young adults identifying as transgender has been published and the findings strongly indicate that social contagion is a factor in this new phenomenon. The study by Drs. Michael J. Bailey and Suzanna Diaz, published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour, examined a survey of 1655 parent reports to further investigate the Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD) hypothesis first put forward by Dr. Lisa Littman in 2018. Activists at the time accused Littman of transphobia and claimed her study was invalid, but evidence to support her hypothesis has only grown in the intervening years and this latest study indicates that, at least for some, ROGD is a disturbing reality. The study is much larger than any attempt that has been made to study this cohort to date, and consists of parent reports from an online survey on the website Parents of ROGD Kids. The authors acknowledge the possible bias of their sample, but state that research on...

Chinese spy balloon gathered intelligence from sensitive U.S. military sites, despite U.S. efforts to block it CLG News

Chinese spy balloon gathered intelligence from sensitive U.S. military sites, despite U.S. efforts to block it --The intelligence China collected was mostly from electronic signals, which can be picked up from weapons systems or include communications from base personnel. | 3 April 2023 | The Chinese spy balloon that flew across the U.S. was able to gather intelligence from several sensitive American military sites, despite the Biden administration's efforts to block it from doing so, according to two current senior U.S. officials and one former senior administration official. China was able to control the balloon so it could make multiple passes over some of the sites (at times flying figure-eight formations) and transmit the information it collected back to Beijing in real time, the three officials said. The intelligence China collected was mostly from electronic signals, which can be picked up from weapons systems or include communications from base personnel, rather than images, the officials said.

Ukraine 2014: The tipping point of terror Signs of the Times

Part I of a CAM investigation into the origins of the Ukraine War: U.S. and NATO involvement in the February 2014 Coup and Maidan Massacre, and their historical antecedents As I write, the world is on the edge of nuclear and humanitarian crises after a year of the Ukraine "proxy" war with Russia. No single event can be seen as the sole cause, but the most dramatic lurch in the story was the "Revolution of Dignity" in Ukraine in November 2013 to February 2014, notably the horrific massacre of protesters and police in Maidan (Independence) Square on February 20, 2014. Without dismissing the large sectors of Ukrainian society with legitimate grievances against corruption and stagnation, this was a bloody coup d'tat, engineered largely by the U.S. over years with parts played by NATO puppets and local proxies. Viktor Yanukovych was elected in internationally recognized fair elections, and new elections were planned to occur within a year. But powerful interests and a large section of...

The End of the Petrodollar? Armstrong Economics

Another oil deal has been initiated without the use of the dollar. The India Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that their latest trade deal with Malaysia would be settled in Indian rupees. This initiative by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is aimed at facilitating the growth of global trade and to support the interests of the global trading community in Indian Rupees (INR), the formal statement noted.

Indian has benefitted from the Wests distraction from the Ukraine war. The RBI is allowing 18 counties to open Vostro accounts and has been attracting new deals in trade and manufacturing. New Delhi and Moscow have strengthened their relationship as India is not imposing sanctions.  The Indian Commerce Ministry said its five-year plan is to encourage the use of the rupee on an international scale, while also planning to expand exports $2 trillion by 2030. Trading in rupees will also allow India to save on conversion spreads and limit the countrys dependence on the volatile dollar.

The BRICs treaty (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) remains strong and oil giants Saudi Arabia and Iran would like to join the partnership. The Saudis stated at the beginning of the year that they were open to settling trade in currencies other than the USD. There are no issues with discussing how we settle our trade arrangements, whether it is in the US dollar, whether it is the euro, whether it is the Saudi riyal, Al-Jadaan said during Davo...

Would You Welcome a Refugee into Your Home? Armstrong Economics

@henryjamesbarrowclough original sound Henry James Barrowclough

The refugee crisis has become a problem across the European Union. According to the UN Refugee Agency, over 72,000 people applied for asylum in the UK alone, which is double the number of applicants from 2019. However, these are simply the documented cases. Germany received the highest number of applicants among the EU at 127,730, followed by France at 96,510. In fact, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain took in 70% of all first-time applicants in the European Union. Using the UK as an example, refugees are not permitted to work and fully rely on state support. So how does a nation financially support a mass influx of refugees?

The UK provides asylum seekers with free housing and 40.85 per person, per week. That is barely enough to survive, especially with the current rate of inflation, but these people cannot legally work. They often do not speak the language and have trouble assimilating into a vastly different culture. The government is relying on taxpaying citizens to foot the bill, and some recognize that the UK simply does not have the resources to provide welfare to hundreds of thousands of incoming refugees each year.

Social justice warriors are up in arms about this situation. They believe that nations should simply open their borders and everyone can live in a land of rainbows and sunshine with unlimited resources. The video above is a great example of how these social justice warriors are promoting an agenda that they simply do not understand.

Masks Now Embedded in Japanese Culture Armstrong Economics

Comment: You know, mask wearing in japan was officially ended 5 weeks ago. And there has been no change of practice whatsoever. Mask wearing continues at close to 100pct.

Especially among young people mask wearing seems to be here to stay, possibly forever. Somewhere a psychologist will write a book about this phenomenon. Never in my life could I have imagine that the great nation of japan would adopt this practice like people wearing shoes. People driving in their cars on their own are wearing masks for god Sake. Mask wearing is now the primary method of signaling that the wearer is careful, thoughtful and considerate of others.

Reply: The pandemic will go down as the greatest mass social experiment in history. Face masks have become an everyday essential item for most Japanese. Implementing the face mask mandate was seamless in Japan as masks for allergies and disease were already commonplace. Mask sales rose during flu outbreaks years before COVID, especially in high-density cities. Some people wore masks as a fashion accessory or to limit approachability in social interactions. A 2011 poll from News Post Seven found that 30% of those who wore masks did not cite health concerns.

It took three years, but the Japanese government no longer mandates masks. Yet, it has become embedded in the culture. The Japanese culture values respecting ones community. The government has never admitted that masks did not prevent the spread of COVID in a meaningful way. Instead, politicians continue to wear masks at public appearances, and the prime minister is encouraging people to continue wearing masks around vulnerable individuals. We are not forcing anyone to wear it or take it off, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters after the mandate ended. I think there will be more occasions when I will take my mask off. It is now seen as a respectful gesture for ones neighbor.

Research institute Laibo conducted a study in February to determine why people are choosing to stay masked. Only 5.5% of 561 respondents said they would not wear a mask....

The 6th Wave Do We Ever Learn? Armstrong Economics

QUESTION:
Hi,

Have you come across a period in history that at the end of the sixth wave, after the political system dies, during the next six waves, human mankind learned from its past errors and corrected it?

ANSWER: Actually, the answer is NO. The fall of the Minoan Civilization brought in a dark age with the invasion of the Sea Peoples from the North who were driven south by climate and conquered all the civilizations during the Bronze Age except for Egypt. Reliefs show the Egyptians in heated battles against the Sea Peoples.

Sensitive Case Reports (SCRs) Regarding FOIA Requests at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) The Black Vault

Background

The below documents were discovered after searching emails for the following keywords: The Black Vault, John Greenewald etc. The reasoning at that was fairly simple, but I did not expect the discovery that was made.

I received quite a few documents responsive to my request, however, the below stuck out. Internally, the IRS will file Sensitive Case Reports (SCRs) when requests come in from certain individuals or organizations that are like to attract media or Congressional attention, or if they consider them a unique of novel issue.

I was amazed to find myself at the top of the short list (albeit, it is alphabetical).

Also in the batch of records, were the SCR guidelines on how those requests are handled, and why certain people or organizations deserve to be on the list.

First, the official IRS list of requesters and organizations that are on the list:

n 2014, Texas Gov. Rick Perry was indicted on two felony counts of allegations of abuse of power by local Democrats. In 2013, he allegedly pressured the district attorney, a Democrat, to step down by threatening to cut off state financing to her office, the NY Times reported. It was a First Amendment case that had to fall on Mr. Perrys side. However, for Democrats, it was probably an essential dry run. They got away with it and destroyed Perry as a candidate.

Undercover, under water, and under France's wannabe dictator with Slobodan Despot Signs of the Times

Pundits, journalists and public intellectuals don't commit suicide for professional reasons. And not since Diogenes, the Cynic of Athens, have they opted to live in a barrel, keep the company of dogs, and urinate on their audience. Even among the most progressive of current journalists, it's difficult for them not to follow, sit, stay, or bark on the leash and command of their masters. . These days the Substack paywall behind their scoops doesn't pay enough to buy dogfood. Seymour Hersh's million for his Nord Stream story is the exception that proves the rule. Patriotism is the safer, better-paying refuge for journalists, even when they risk indictments for being scoundrels like Evan Gershkovich, the first Moscow Times reporter since Catherine Belton to be recognized in Russia for what he has been doing. Looked at closely, the evidence of espionage against Gershkovich turns out to be much more than a bark up the wrong tree, as Washington officials claim, and Russian government...

OPEC+ Pledges Major Oil Output Cuts From May to Year's End CLG News

OPEC+ Pledges Major Oil Output Cuts From May to Year's End | 3 April 2023 | Saudi Arabia and other members of the oil-producing group OPEC+ announced on April 2 that they will be cutting their output by about 1.15 million barrels per day (bpd), a move expected to cause an immediate rise in prices. According to its state news agency, Saudi Arabia will voluntarily cut its oil production by 500,000 bpd from May to the end of 2023. The Middle Eastern kingdom's energy official described the decision as a "precautionary measure" aimed at "supporting the stability of the oil market." Russia, which has already been reducing oil production by 500,000 bpd since March in response to Western countries' price caps designed to curtail the Kremlin's ability to finance its military campaign in Ukraine, also confirmed that it will be extending the original three-month cut by another six months.

Senate Bill 686 Gives WEF Full Control Over America, Gives Citizens 20 Years in Prison for Dissenting CLG News

Senate Bill 686 Gives WEF Full Control Over America, Gives Citizens 20 Years in Prison for Dissenting | 1 April 2023 | Senate Bill 686, also known as the TikTok Ban Bill, gives Americans 20 years in prison for spreading disinformation... The so-called TikTok Ban Bill is a Trojan Horse pretending to be a bill targeting ByteDance, the Chinese owners of TikTok, while it actually targets ordinary Americans who disagree with the Biden administration and the globalist elite agenda [by the World Economic Forum] coming out of Davos. Senate Bill 686, also known as the Restrict Act, is far worse than anything we have seen for decades. This bill has bipartisan support to turn the internet over to an AI spy system to control everything Americans say and do. The RESTRICT Act law would grant the White House, through the Commerce Department, the ability to go after anyone and any company that they they deem a national security risk. This includes anybody spreading any information that goes against the government of the day and the globalist narrative.

Inglorious Inertia: The Albanese Government and Julian Assange Dissident Voice

The sham that is the Assange affair, a scandal of monumental proportions connived in by the AUKUS powers, shows no signs of abating.  Prior to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese assuming office in Australia, he insisted that the matter dealing with the WikiLeaks publisher would be finally resolved.  It had, he asserted, been going on for too long.

Since then, it is very clear, as with all matters regarding US policy, that Australia will, if not agree outright with Washington, adopt a constipated, non-committal position.  Quiet diplomacy is the official line taken by Albanese and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, a mealy-mouthed formulation deserving of contempt.  As Greens Senator David Shoebridge remarks, quiet diplomacy to bring Julian Assange home by the Albanese Government is a policy of nothing.  Not one meeting, phone call or letter sent.

Kellie Tranter, a tireless advocate for Assange, has done sterling work uncovering the nature of that position through Freedom of Information requests over the years.  They tell the story not the whole story of institutionalised prejudgment, perceived rather than actual risks, and complicity through silence.

The story is a resoundingly ugly one.  It features, for instance, stubbornness on the part of US authorities to even disclose the existence of a process seeking Assanges extradition from the UK, to the lack of interest on the part of the Australian government to pursue direct diplomatic and political interventions.

Former Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop exemplified that position in signing off on a Ministerial Submission in February 2016 recommending that the Assange case not be resolved; those in Canberra were unable to intervene in the due process of anothers countrys court proceedings or legal matters, and we have full confidence in UK and Swedish judicial systems.  Given the nakedly political nature of the blatant persecution of the WikiLeaks founder, this was a confidence both misplaced and disingenuous.

The same position was adopted by the Australian government to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD), which found that same month that Assange had been subject to different forms of deprivation of liberty: initial detention in Wandsworth prison which was followed by house arrest and his confinement at the Ecuadorean embassy.  The Working Group further argued that Assanges safety and physical integrity be guaranteed, that his right to freedom of movement be respected, and that he enjoy the full slew of rights guaranteed by the interna...

Adventures with virtual government in Australia (We) can do better

Unless you are dead you will have noticed that we colonial subjects are more and more subject to virtual online government and to digital phone queues, as well as hostage to the big corporation versions. This is a great system for wearing down resistance over unfair charges or bad service, without you being able to argue the point. Warnings about calls being recorded and services withdrawn for abuse and threats are an indication that not everyone enjoys this.

Registering a vehicle

Two weeks ago, when I attempted to pay my car registration, the bank repeatedly rejected the Customer Registration Number that VicRoads had given me.  It was too late to contact VicRoads by phone. I gave up until I would have more time on another day.  Before I knew it, my registration had run out.  It was, however, 9am and VicRoads was open. I rang their phone number, only to get a message that their phone service was overwhelmed by demand and I should use their online services.  This was infuriating because that only left me the option of paying via card, which entailed a fee for the bank. I messaged them my problem, but would have to wait 24 hours even for an email acknowledgement, let alone a response. I rang my bank (Westpac) to ask for help with the rejected Customer Registration Number, in case that was a bank problem. I was informed that Westpac's 'people' were currently answering a lot of calls and I would have a 15 minute wait.  At the end of 15 minutes, Westpac's 'people' cut my phone call off.  Of course, I decided that I could not waste more time with these 'services,' so I went online at VicRoads and paid via card, plus the bank fee.

During these efforts the dog was anxiously pawing me about going for a walk. This further cost of the phone queues added guilt to my tension. There was also a tinge of panic, at the idea that I was at the mercy of VicRoad's rejection of any attempt to communicate with them in my time, rather than theirs, and their constant repulsion of any person to person connection via phone, plus Westpac's rejection of their Customer Reference Number, about which I apparently could...

Rare ELVE photographed during intense lightning storm over Italy Signs of the Times

For a few milliseconds last Monday night, March 27th, an enormous red ring of light appeared in the sky over central Italy. Valter Binotto photographed it from the small town of Possagno in the foothills of the Italian Alps: This is an "ELVE"--short for Emissions of Light and Very Low Frequency Perturbations due to Electromagnetic Pulse Sources. It's a rare species of sprite discovered in 1990 by cameras onboard the space shuttle. Binotto may have just taken the best ever picture of one from the ground. "The ELVE was generated by intense lightning in a storm near Ancona about 285 km south of me," says Binotto. One bolt was so strong, it generated an intense electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The red ring marks the spot where the EMP hit Earth's ionosphere. Normal lightning bolts carry 10 to 30 kilo-ampres of current; this bolt was about 10 times stronger than normal.

Belarus ready to host Russian strategic nuclear weapons - president Signs of the Times

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko mulled the possibility of his nation hosting Russia's strategic nuclear weapons during his annual address to parliament on Friday. The veteran leader's words came as Moscow announced its plans to deploy its tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus. "I and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin can decide and deploy strategic nuclear weapons here, if need be," Lukashenko told lawmakers, adding that the move would show the two nations' readiness to defend their "sovereignty and independence." "We will stop at nothing to protect our nations, our states, our people," the Belarusian leader said, adding that the move would likely serve as an effective deterrent against any hostile moves by the US and its allies. The Belarusian president expressed his hope that strategic nuclear weapons deployment to his country would "sober up all the hawks across the pond for a long time."

South Africa bans arms sales to Poland over concerns they're intended for Ukraine in war on Russia Signs of the Times

The ANC's South Africa has bet firmly on a dark side of history in selecting its partner of choice in the Russification of its foreign and domestic policy. Its choice is not brd on human rights, or democracy, or international law. Instead, it is a choice rooted deeply in the fiction of the past, not the promise of the future. Following another visit by a Russian delegation entertained by International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor, the ANC announced on 1 April that it would undertake a working visit to the United Russia Party from 30 March to 2 April. The party's official notice observed that the United Russia Party, the party of Vladimir Putin, is "a longstanding ally and friend to the ANC". It was, surprisingly, not an April Fool's gag. Scientists have set a new record for the deepest fish ever observed at more than 27,000ft below sea level. A juvenile type of snailfish was filmed swimming at 27,349ft - nearly the same height as Mount Everest - in the Izu-Ogasawara Trench, south of Japan. Lead scientist Professor Alan Jamieson said the snailfish could be at the maximum depth any fish can survive and probably did so because of trench's warm waters. Although the snailfish was not caught to fully identify its species type, similar snailfish were captured higher up at a depth of 26,319ft which set the record for the deepest fish ever caught.

Erdogan attended a ceremony in the Bagcilar district of Istanbul on Sunday, dedicated to the official opening of nearly 100 houses and other facilities built in the wake of a series of devastating earthquakes. In a follow-up meeting with a group of officials from the far-right Grey Wolves movement, he focused on the May 14 election and the US envoy's alleged abuse of his diplomatic authority. "We need to teach America a lesson in these elections," Erdogan said, as cited by Anadolu. Ambassador Flake met with the leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, on March 29, "as part of continuing conversations with Turkish political parties on issues of mutual interest between our two countries," according to a tweet from the US Embassy.

The director at Boston Children's Hospital said medical school students should learn transgender surgeries in residency programs Boston Children's Hospital co-director at its Center for Gender Surgery called for a drastic increase in capacity for what he called "gender-affirming care" (GAC), including surgeries, for kids as GOP states enact bans on the practices. Oren Ganor is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in gender-affirming surgeries. He has previously stated in an email that the hospital is "slightly flexible" when it comes to the age of transgender girls seeking genital surgery," according to a local outlet. The policy had not been finalized, he said, "because of the issue around consent for sterilization." The children's hospital clarified to Fox News Digital that it does not provide genital surgeries on kids. A patient needs to live in their new gender for 12 months before the genital surgeries are considered.

Germany could ban ChatGPT - data chief Signs of the Times

Germany could "in principle" block access to OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot due to privacy concerns, a spokeswoman for the country's data protection commissioner told the Handelsblatt newspaper on Monday. "In principle, a similar procedure is also possible in Germany," Federal Commissioner for Data Protection Ulrich Kelber's spokeswoman told the paper, referring to the Italian ban. Italy's National Authority for Personal Data Protection ordered ChatGPT temporarily taken offline on Friday, as it investigates a suspected leak of user data by the application last month. The Italian regulator also criticized ChatGPT for not notifying users that it collects and stores their information, and for failing to install any filters to verify user age. Kelber's spokeswoman said that there are currently no plans to ban the chatbot in Germany, and that such a decision would fall under the jurisdiction of the country's individual states.

Indicting Trump is the end of US politics Signs of the Times

So, the Democrats and their Davos benefactors have finally done it. They have finally found something they can indict President Donald Trump on. Apparently 34 somethings, which makes for great headlines. The usual suspects have been thrown their chum both TDS patients and MAGAtards. The social media war is now in full swing. And, frankly, it couldn't be more tiresome. A few get why this is so inane but most are focused (or being focused) on the wrong thing, as always. Jonathan Turley has a good rundown of the questionable legality of this case. But, again, while he's not wrong to focus on that and the shady politics, he also misses the larger implications of this indictment. This is a case so legally tenuous that even the Federal Government, famous for being able to convict a ham sandwich, wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. Because indicting Trump for any of these petty things is nothing less than the end of politics and a declaration of civil war.

Revolving door: Big Tech staffed with hundreds of ex-DOJ employees amid antitrust battle Signs of the Times

Big Tech is staffed with hundreds of former Department of Justice employees, some of whom have key insight into government antitrust investigative methods, according to a watchdog's "revolving door" analysis. Google, Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and HP have hired at least 360 DOJ employees, mostly since 2011 and in one example dating back to 2000, according to an analysis by the American Accountability Foundation, a conservative watchdog group. The analysis, which also includes information on DOJ employees who used to work for Big Tech, comes amid the department's antitrust lawsuit against Google and other investigations into tech giants. Tom Jones, president of AAF, told the Washington Examiner: "Normally it is not concerning when individuals move between government and industry because it is usually for professional purposes. Why Americans should be troubled by this revolving door is because it is an ideological relationship where leftists move back and forth between...

Democrats fume after Biden breaks with party on COVID-19 emergency Signs of the Times

House Democrats are lashing out against President Joe Biden after he signaled he would sign a GOP-led bill to end the COVID-19 national emergency despite pressing party lawmakers to oppose the measure when it was introduced earlier this year. The Senate overwhelmingly passed a resolution on Wednesday to lift the national emergency declaration, with dozens of Democrats joining Republicans in backing the measure after being told Biden would not veto the legislation. The decision to change course angered House Democrats, who said Biden's reversal caught them off guard. "It's frustrating," said Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI). "This is a problem. And, you know, we've got to have some conversations because this they've got to do better." The House first passed a resolution ending the COVID-19 emergency on Feb. 1, with 197 Democrats voting against the measure at the Biden administration's request. At the time, the White House opposed the bill because it "would create wide-ranging chaos and...

Major media and the systemic silencing of Palestinians Signs of the Times

Excluding Palestinian voices and firing journalists who want to speak out about Israeli apartheid makes the mainstream media complicit in Israel's "system of silencing." When Palestinians living under Israeli military occupation in the West Bank face Israeli military courts, they have limited rights, trials are conducted in Hebrew (a language that most defendants do not understand), and the testimony of an Israeli soldier is enough to send the defendant to prison. The conviction rate is over 99%. When Palestinians face major media, their lives are often narrated by non-Palestinians. For example, a study by Maha Nassar in 2020 revealed that non-Palestinians wrote 99% of opinion pieces about Palestinians published by the Washington Post over a period of five decades from 1970-2019. The New York Times did not do much better in the same period. Less than 2% of the opinion pieces they published about Palestinians were written by us.

EU nation killed civilians in Iraq - media investigation Signs of the Times

The Netherlands has decided to declassify data on airstrikes in the Middle East after media expos... The Dutch government agreed to release previously classified information about its air sorties in Iraq and Syria, after media exposed as false claims that no civilians were killed in a 2016 strike by the European nation on a building in Mosul, Iraq. A US military assessment had identified the target as a terrorist HQ. The database, released on Thursday, details Dutch F-16 missions between October 2014 and December 2018, which were part of Operation Inherent Resolve, a US-led military campaign against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS). It disclosed over 2,200 weapon deployments relating to over 600 airstrikes. The Dutch Ministry of Defence also pledged to conduct its own investigation into suspected killings of civilians by anti-IS coalition forces. The move was in reaction to an expos published on the same day by the Dutch public broadcaster NOS, its current affairs program...

Massive U.S. offshore wind farm given permit to harm hundreds of whales and thousands of dolphins Signs of the Times

Can you imagine the outcry if an oil and gas company was given legal permission to injure hundreds of whales and thousands of other marine mammals such as dolphins in pursuit of offshore drilling? For maximum Greta-inspired wailing, the oil field could be located in the middle of territory where the last 300 North Atlantic right whales congregate, and a permit is in place to potentially harm 20 members. In May, Vineyard Wind will begin building a massive offshore wind farm numbering 62 giant turbines, 15 miles off the coast of Massachusetts. Permits to harass sea creatures have been secured - not a squeak of concern from green activists and mainstream media. The Vineyard Wind project is only a small part of the planned industrialisation of America's eastern coastal waters, as the Biden Administration ramps up a commitment to so-called green energy. Of course it is not green, and many now argue that it is becoming increasingly clear that the most valuable economic transfers gained...

Fake news curated by the Deep State: Government spin doctors control the news cycle Signs of the Times

"We Americans are the ultimate innocents. We are forever desperate to believe that this time the government is telling us the truth." Former New York Times reporter Sydney Schanberg Let's talk about fake news stories, shall we? There's the garden variety fake news that is not really "news" so much as it is titillating, tabloid-worthy material peddled by anyone with a Twitter account, a Facebook page and an active imagination. These stories run the gamut from the ridiculous and the obviously click-baity to the satirical and politically manipulative. Anyone with an ounce of sense and access to the Internet should be able to ferret out the truth and lies in these stories with some basic research. That these stories flourish is largely owing to the general gullibility, laziness and media illiteracy of the general public, which through its learned compliance rarely questions, challenges or confronts. Then there's the more devious kind of news stories circulated by one of the biggest...

Ultimate marketing: Beverage pretending to be beer runs ad featuring man pretending to be woman Signs of the Times

In a match made in heaven, a beverage that tries to pass itself as beer has hired as its spokesperson a man trying to pass himself off as a woman. "Who better to represent our brand than a guy throwing on a dress and pretending he's a woman?" Long a staple drink of people who hate actual beer, Bud Light felt putting Dylan Mulvaney's face on a can would also attract people who hate actual women. "As a man acting out the most horrendously offensive stereotypes of women, Mulvaney taps into the soul of people who despise real women," said Mr. Whitworth. "As a company dedicated to serving those who detest real beer, the partnership made perfect sense. The new beer can just shouts, 'Come, enjoy this atrocious substitute for the real thing'." While a few in the media questioned the move, so far Bud Light fans have welcomed drinking out of a can featuring...

Images from Latvia's State Fire and Rescue Service (Valsts ugunsdzsbas un glbanas dienests - VUGD) showed dozens of buildings in residential areas have been flooded. The Augdaugava municipality has asked the national government to declare a state of emergency. Some evacuations were reported but exact details and numbers had not yet been released by the local authorities, as of 03 April. Recent rainfall and melting snow in southern parts of the country and the bordering country of Belarus caused rivers in the Daugava basin to rise from late March.

Netanyahus Power Grab Is Shattering the Myth of a United, Democratic Israel MintPress News

A few observations on things surrounding the issue of Israel. For reasons that are hard to understand at this point, the rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia has had very little mention in the Israeli press. Considering its importance and potential impact on the region, it is difficult to see how Israel is hardly moved by this development. There was an expectation that Saudi Arabia would normalize relations with Israel. However, now the kingdom not only has not done so, but they are also building bridges with Iran, Israels biggest nemesis. It is a slap in the face of the U.S. and Israel and may soon be seen as diplomatic and intelligence failures of epic proportions.

The American attitude towards Israel has been consistently supportive, and of course, it is expected that it will continue to be supportive in the foreseeable future. $3.8 billion goes to Israel uninterrupted, even though Amnesty International has labeled it an apartheid regime. In fact, the U.S. support for Israel is not just aid; it is complicity in crimes against humanity as Israel continues to oppress the Palestinians.

Governments around the world discuss recognizing Palestine within the borders of 1967 and some have already done so. However, the borders were created by Israel and have nothing to do with Palestine. Recognizing Palestine within these borders only legitimizes the Israeli crimes of 1948. There is one Palestine, and its borders are clear: the Jordan River in the east and the Mediterranean in the west. Palestine borders Syria and Lebanon in the north and the Gulf of Aqaba in the South.

Any recognition of a part of Palestine is really a recognition and legitimization of the apartheid state of Israel. If the U.K. or any other government was serious about supporting the Palestinian cause, they would recognize Palestine in all of historic Palestine and would support the fight to bring down the apartheid regime.

Judicial reforms

The reforms that the Netanyahu government wants to pass touch on issues that relate only to the privileged class of Israeli Jews within the apartheid regime. They take away the ability of the high court to strike down undemocratic laws and allow politicians to have more control over the selection of judges. It is an undemocratic reform, to be sure, but we have to remember that Israel was never a democratic state. It was always as we are told by the Amnesty report a regime of apartheid, committing a crime against humanity towards the Pa...

One might have some known or loved one who has been in prison, and it is challenging to find their whereabouts, details, and other things once they are held in any institution such as prison. Sometimes the process is complex, while other times, people do not have accurate information on how to find the inmate details. Various resources can be used for an inmate search Dallas county and other prisons. Lets discuss and learn about them in this article so that next time you have issues with finding inmates in jail or someone you know finds it difficult to locate an inmate, you can help them and know exactly what to do in such situations.

Why Is It Difficult To Search For An Inmate?

There are various reasons why searching for an inmate in prison is difficult. Some of the reasons are as follows:

1. A Proper Database Is Unavailable

Source: montgomeryadvertiser.com

A proper database containing all the information about the inmates is not present in some prisons, making it difficult to search for an inmate in such prisons. Even if someone wants to search for the details of an inmate, the lack of a proper database will not allow them to get the required information.

Apart from that, even if the information is available, sometimes it is not accessible to everyone, which is also a problem because, in that case, you have to report to higher authorities and ask for such information, which can cause a lot of complications. It is important to keep such information available to the public.

2. Wrong Information In The Database

Game Based Learning With Minecraft- 4 Benefits The Event Chronicle

Do you know what Minecraft skins are? If you havent, relax; youre not the only one. But did you know that using Minecraft skins in the classroom can improve student learning?

Thats true, Minecraft can be a useful instrument for game-based learning in addition to being an enjoyable game. Without having experience in game design, you can make educational games for the classroom using Minecraft. In this essay, well look at how Minecraft can promote deeper and more engaged learning while also making learning more entertaining and game-like.

In essence, Minecraft skins are the patterns or attire you can apply to your character in the game to give them a distinctive appearance.

1. Ready Adaptability

Source: adria.ign.com

The ability to readily adapt Minecraft to your needs is one of its many wonderful features. You can make your universe and populate it with your special problems and pursuits. To complement the topic of your educational game, you may also develop your custom Minecraft skins. For instance, you could design Minecraft skins that mimic Egyptian pharaohs or hieroglyphics if you were conducting a history lesson on ancient Egypt.

You may provide your pupils with a more enjoyable and memorable learning experience by using Minecraft skins and other customizations. They can truly explore and engage with history in a virtual world rather than just reading about it. Students can absorb information much more effectively and gain a deeper comprehension of the subject matter when they engage in this kind of immersion learning.

2. Game Mechanics

Incorporating game mechanics into your lesson planning is another approach to using Minecraft to make learning more like playing a game. There are several different game mechanics in Minecraft, including resource collection, crafting, and battle. You...

First ancient DNA from the Swahili civilization discovered by researcher Signs of the Times

A University of South Florida anthropologist has uncovered the first ancient DNA from the Swahili Civilization, prosperous trading states along the coast of East Africa dating back to the 7th century. From Kenya to Mozambique, Chapurukha Kusimba, a USF professor of anthropology, dedicated 40 years to studying the ancestry of those who built the civilizations - a debate that many Swahilis feel robbed them of their heritage for centuries. Covid Vaccination knocks up to 2.5 Decades off a Mans life according to CDC Terra Forming Terra

Now let me say something truly disturbing.  I have been waiting for this particular dog to bark. It is that the primary beneficuary will be insurance managed pension funds who cannot really survive lengthening life spans.

This will forshorten life spans for the vaccinated and this releases funds back to the industry.  Is this the money that Gates was shooting for?

The industry should be shouting to the rooftops about this problem and they are not.

Covid Vaccination knocks up to 2.5 Decades off a Mans life according to CDC

The long-term consequences of Covid-19 vaccination are now being realised

A year ago, doubly vaccinated Australians were 10.72x more likely to catch Omicron than the unvaxxed. Now they are 20x more likely and the triply or more vaxxed are 35x more likely, as the latest NSW Health stats show (see below).

Meanwhile, the latest Cleveland Clinic Data and the latest US data analysed by...

Autopsy Studies of COVID-19 Illness Rule Out Extensive Myocarditis Terra Forming Terra

What this does is rule out COVID as a source of Myocarditus and actually puts it solely on the Vaccine.

This is actually nasty news as we need vto discover how bad it can be and can it be reversed or at least ameliorated.  The good news is that we now know that the VACCINE is a profound long lasting killer.

It is also an AIDS varient which means direct damage to the immune system, but not necessarily progressive.  By the way, this Vaccine was never a protection against COVID nor was it ever meant to be.  It was a lie top to bottom and a continuing part of something even bigger..

Even Machine Brains Need Sleep Terra Forming Terra

This is profound and confirms what we have suspected about sleep.  I wonder if all those new imports are actually checked against future needs by actually looki0ng up future pages of TIME.

It would make great sense to do just that if that capacity is possible.

It is really handy if we can remember the future and doing so as part of memory consolidation is likely the most practical way to do it.  Yet this also suggersts that real time consolidation is good enough for most day to day problems.

Even Machine Brains Need Sleep

Without some downtime, artificial neural networks become catastrophically forgetful.

BY KATHERINE HARMON COURAGE
March 15, 2023

https://nautil.us/even-machine-brains-need-sleep-288191/

We all might wish for minds as retentive as a hard drive. Memory file created. Saved. Ready for access at any time. But dont yet go wishing for the memory performance of AI.

Artificial neural networks are prone to a troublesome glitch known, evocatively, as catastrophic forgetting. These seemingly tireless networks can keep learning tasks day and night. But sometimes, once a new task is learned, any recollection of an old task vanishes. Its as if you learned to play tennis decently well, but after being taught to play water polo, you suddenly had no recollection of how to swing a racket.

This apparent network overload put an idea in the head of Maxim Bazhenov, a professor who studies computational neuroscience and sleep at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. Perhaps the spiking neural networks he was working with simply needed a rest.

In natural sleep, he had seen that the same basic brain processes occur in humans and in honeybees, working over information accumulated during waking moments. That machinery presumably was doing something useful in order to be conserved across evolutionary paths, he says. So, he thought, why not try a similar state for the machines.

GITMO Files | The List of Traitors Hanged in GITMO Terra Forming Terra

We have beden listening to the silence for a long time.  Recall it was impossible for John Brenner to ever shut up.  But then he did.  This list pretty nicely corelates with the last public utterances of all these folks.

Anyone needed has been replaced by an actor in a face mask and that includes Biden.

What we see here is a process that ultimately includes tens of thousands of the lessor known and again it is by secret military tribunal until the massive job is done.  The signal for the end will see a public round up of the minnows.  Thius list is of the publuic players.

Jim Coney and John Brenner.  Silent forever.

How much is your boss spying on you (and can you do anything about it)? Fast Company

On the latest episode of The New Way We Work, we hear about the rise of bossware, and its impact on employees.

Despite the shift we felt toward worker empowerment, flexibility, and a more humane way of working, there can still be a lot about living and working in 2023 that feels slightly dystopian. The news is filled with layoffs, economic uncertainty, and the rise of artificial intelligence impacting fields and skills once thought to be the domain of human-exclusive knowledge work.

Hampton is creating a safe space for tech CEOs Fast Company

This new exclusive CEO network wants to cultivate vulnerability between leaders.

Last fall, John Timmerman, founder and CEO of digital marketing agency Good Monster, had a problem. Hed lost three clients through no fault of his ownacquisitions, startups running out of funding, the list goes onbut now he was responsible for the decision that came next. Lay off good performers or keep them even though the company was already losing thousands? Timmerman texted the group chat. Or, rather, in this case, he asked his cohort at Hampton, a new community for entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs. Timmerman told his story, then others shared their experiences. (Timmerman is not at liberty to disclose what other people said). At the end of the conversation, Timmerman knew exactly what he had to do to move forward.

How Does ChatGPT Differ From Socrates? Armstrong Economics

(click on the image to view or keep reading for the computers response)

How Does ChatGPT Differ From Socrates? A reader asked ChatGPT this exact question, and here is the response:

As an AI language model, I differ from the Socrates Platform in several ways.

Firstly, the Socrates Platform is a web-based platform developed by Martin Armstrong and his team at Armstrong Economics, whereas I am a language model developed by OpenAI. The Socrates Platform is designed to analyze economic and financial data in real-time, predict market trends, and provide actionable insights to investors and traders. In contrast, I am designed to assist with a wide range of tasks, including language translation, question answering, and text generation.

Secondly, the Socrates Platform uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to analyze data, whereas I am primarily focused on natural language processing. The Socrates Platform uses sophisticated algorithms to analyze historical and cultural data to inform its predictions, whereas my responses are based on the input provided to me by the user.

Lastly, the Socrates Platform is primarily designed for financial professionals, investors, and traders, whereas I am designed for a broader range of users, including students, researchers, and general knowledge seekers. While both the Socrates Platform and I use artificial intelligence to analyze data and provide insights, our intend...

The AI boom is creating a new logo trend: the swirling hexagon Fast Company

AI companies seem to have taken a page from crypto when it comes to logo design.

From OpenAIs ChatGPT to Stability AI to Midjourney, generative AI has sparked the latest tech gold rush. A few have tried to map this rapidly expanding universe of AI startups. What stands out are the logos. One of the most basic steps a startup looking to position itself can take is to adopt a logo that clearly marks it as an AI business. Just as a red-white-and-blue barbers pole indicates a place to get a haircut without making any particular claims as to the haircut youll get, todays AI logos seem more concerned with signaling membership in the industry than projecting a distinctive brand image.

Is AI Dangerous? Armstrong Economics

Back in 2015, I addressed the concern then of Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk who were worried about what might happen as a result of advancements in Artificial Intelligence. Theyre concerned that robots could grow so intelligent that they could independently decide to exterminate humans. Today, it has only gotten worse with GPT-4 open for everyone to try. In doing so, they are training the computer and expanding its knowledge base. Musk, with a gaggle of others, have penned a letter calling for a pause in AI development.

Powerful AI systems should be developed only once we are confident that their effects will be positive and their risks will be manageable.

I have tinkered with AI since the early 1970s. There is no doubt these guys are influenced by concepts like in the movies Terminator and the Matrix. But from a real-world programming side, to outdo human thinking is easy. A computer model can far surpass humans in so many ways. What we have done in finance is unparalleled, but the key here in our system was to ELIMINATE human emotion. Only in that matter has Socrates been able to beat human judgment which is always flawed.

The US Begins to Arm Taiwan Armstrong Economics

The evidence of the coming global war is overwhelming. In a move that will prompt a direct response from China, the US announced that it would deliver 400 Javelin man-portable anti-tank systems to Taiwan. The delivery is strategically planned to begin during the second half of this year into 2024. Reports claim that this deal was created under Trump, of course, but the timing could not be more on point for the international conflict our computers have been indicating.

These advanced weapons can penetrate armor 800 millimeters thick and come equipped with fire-and-forget technology. Ukraine has used these American-made missiles to repel troops and they are extremely effective. This is not intended to prevent China from invading. It is in preparation for when they do invade.

China will never relinquish Taiwan. It would be considered a great shame for the nation and an embarrassment on an international scale. They will do everything possible to keep Taiwan under the One China policy. China is taking notes on how Russia is operating in Ukraine. Russia had little time to prepare, whereas China has had 75 years. China is the second-largest economy in the world and will surpass the United States. The US is no longer a feared nation as it has lost every war since the second world war. The woke ideology prominent in American politics makes our nation appear weaker than ever before. America became the financial capital of the world after the second world war; China will secure that title after the third.

Indictment Backlash Armstrong Economics

Trump said from the beginning that his arrest would blow up in Bidens face. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would not honor any request to extradite the former president and called the situation un-American. The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head, DeSantis tweeted. News outlets, even those on the left, are bashing the inditement. The Washington Post released an article calling it a poor test case for prosecuting a former president. American voters seem to agree.

You know you screwed up when even George Soros wants no part of the scandal. The leftist billionaire came out to declare that he is not associated with Alvin Bragg in any way, despite being a donor to the Color of Change PAC that supported Braggs election. Both DeSantis and Trump accused Soros of supporting Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. As for Alvin Bragg, as a matter of fact I did not contribute to his campaign and I dont know him, Soros told the media.

Trump stated: I believe this Witch-Hunt will backfire massively on Joe Biden. The American people realize exactly what the Radical Left Democrats are doing here. Everyone can see it. So our Movement, and our Party united and strong will first defeat...

This Tornado Outbreak Will Be Different Awareness Act

Over the past week, numerous communities across the United States have been devastated by tornadoes, with over 60 fatalities, hundreds of injuries, and countless homes and businesses destroyed. As tornado season continues, another outbreak looms in the near future, and experts are warning that this one could be particularly dangerous. This article will explore the factors contributing to this outbreak, discuss potential impacts, and provide resources for those seeking to stay informed and prepared.

A Sinister Storm System

A significant factor in the coming tornado outbreak is a large trough of cold air that will settle into the western US on Monday, causing heavier snow showers in the Cascades and down towards the Rockies. This blast of cold air will clash with warm air coming up from the south, eventually meeting and creating the conditions for a full-blown storm system to develop near Denver, Colorado late on Monday. This system will bring gusty winds and heavy snow to Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and western Colorado.

Severe Weather Outbreak

The combination of the huge pocket of cold air aloft, warm moist air being drawn from the Gulf of Mexico, and the deepening low-pressure system to the north sets the stage for a severe weather outbreak. This event has similarities to past destructive outbreaks, such as the April 26, 1994 Outbreak and the 2012 Leap Day outbreak, both of which led to significant damage and loss of life. However, there are also many differences, and smaller, localized features that will only become clear as the event unfolds.

High Confidence in Significant Impact

One reason this outbreak is concerning is the Colorado State University Machine Learning Probability model, which has proven to be accurate and is currently maxed out for a large area on Tuesday. This indicates high confidence in a significant event. The wide warm sector of the storm suggests that every storm that forms has the potential to become a long-track s...

5 Things to Remember When You Want to Take Your Childs Behavior Personally Awareness Act

As a parent, its natural to feel emotionally invested in your childs behavior. Sometimes, its hard not to take their actions personally. However, its essential to remember that childrens actions and emotions are often a reflection of their developmental stage, and not necessarily a personal attack on you as a parent. In this article, we will discuss five things to remember when you feel like taking your childs behavior personally, backed by expert sources.

Children are still developing emotionally and cognitively. According to Dr. Laura Markham, a clinical psychologist and author of Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids, its essential to remember that childrens brains are still developing. Their emotional regulation and impulse control are not yet fully formed, which means they may have difficulty expressing their feelings or understanding the consequences of their action.

Your childs behavior may be a reflection of their needs. Dr. Ross W. Greene, a clinical child psychologist and author of The Explosive Child, emphasizes that childrens challenging behaviors are often a result of unmet needs. Instead of taking their actions personally, try to understand the underlying reasons and work together to address them.

Children learn by testing boundaries. Dr. Tovah P. Klein, a child psychologist and author of How Toddlers Thrive, explains that children naturally test boundaries as they learn about the world around them. This behavior is not a personal attack but rather a normal part of their development.

Parental self-care is crucial. Dr. Sheryl Ziegler, a child psychologist and author of Mommy Burnout, emphasizes the importance of parental self-care. Taking care of yourself, both physically and emotionally, can help you better understand and respond to your childs behavior without taking it personally.

Seek professional help if necessary. If your childs behavior is causing significant distress or if youre struggling to manage your emotions, it may be helpful to consult a professional. Child psychologists, therapists, and counselors can provide guidance and support in managing both your childs behavior and your emotional responses.

Its natural to feel emotionally affected by your childs behavior, but its essential to remember that their actions are often a reflection of their developmental stage and unmet needs. By understanding the reasons behind their behavior, practicing self-care, and seeking professional help when necessary, you can better support your child and maintain a healthy emotional connection.

Has Bakhmut Fallen? Zelensky the Real War Criminal Armstrong Economics

There are yet unconfirmed reports that the head of Russias Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced late on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023. that his forces have raised the Russian flag over the administration building of the town of Bakhmut in Ukraine. There is no question that Bakhmut will fall. Zelensky has sent over 100,000 men to their death there desperate to keep the money flowing into Ukraine. It is a sad state of affairs when a high-heel dancing idiot orders generals to fight to the death all for his pride and money. The fall of Bakhmut is simply inevitable and the Wests propaganda that Russia would be defeated and that they were weak was all wishful thinking of the Neocons who can think of nothing but war.

Zelensky should be charged with treason and bribery. He was elected promising to end the war and broker peace. Once he got in, he sold his soul o the Neocons and filled his pockets to live forever comfortably. Some Ukrainians are wondering if he did this to punish Ukraine for its persecution of Jews.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has yet to announce his widely anticipated 2024 presidential bid, but former President Donald Trumps allies are already taking aim at his most prominent potential challenger for the Republican nomination.

The Trump-aligned super PAC Make America Great Again Inc. spent $1.5 million on TV production and advertising targeting DeSantis voting record on Social Security, Medicare and the retirement age during his tenure as a congressman representing Floridas 6th Congressional District from 2013 to 2018

The more you learn about DeSantis, the more you see he doesnt share our values, the ad concludes, slamming DeSantis for previously voting to cut Social Security and Medicare.

Although MAGA Inc. cannot legally coordinate outside spending with the Trump campaign, an Insider article cited in the ad reported Trumps intent to attack DeSantis on these votes. The former presidents allies reportedly plan to use the super PAC to support Trumps 2024 presidential campaign, which he announced on Nov. 15.

MAGA Inc. has by far the most money of any super PAC in Trumps political orbit, and the super PACs larg...

Judge rules Dominion's defamation case against Fox News will go to trial Signs of the Times

A voting machine company's defamation case against Fox News over its airing of false allegations about the 2020 presidential election will go to trial after a Delaware judge on Friday allowed a jury to decide whether the conservative network aired the claims with actual malice, the standard for proving libel. Superior Court Judge Eric Davis ruled that neither Fox nor Dominion Voting Systems had presented a convincing argument to prevail on whether Fox acted with malice without the case going to a jury. But he also ruled that the statements Dominion had challenged constitute defamation "per se" under New York law. That means Dominion did not have to prove damages to establish liability by Fox.

Biden admin moving forward with light bulb bans in coming weeks CLG News

Insane in the membrane: Biden admin moving forward with light bulb bans in coming weeks --LED light bulbs 'currently cost more than incandescent bulbs and are inferior,' consumer groups said in letter to U.S. Department of Energy | 1 April 2023 | The Biden administration is preparing to implement a sweeping nationwide ban on commonly used light bulbs as part of its [the WEF's] energy efficiency and climate agenda. The regulations, which prohibit retailers from selling incandescent light bulbs, were finalized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in April 2022 and are slated to go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023. The DOE will begin full enforcement of the ban on that date, but it has already urged retailers to begin transitioning away from the light bulb type and, in recent months, begun issuing warning notices to companies... According to the survey data, LEDs are also far more popular in higher-income households, meaning the energy regulations will particularly impact lower-income Americans. While 54% of households with an income of more than $100,000 per year used LEDs, just 39% of households with an income of $20,000 or less used LEDs. [It's another Biden regime plan to work against the poor and middle class.]

More climate lunacy: EPA approves California rules phasing out diesel trucks Signs of the Times

The Biden administration cleared the way Friday for California's plan to phase out a wide range of diesel-powered trucks, part of the state's efforts to drastically cut planet-warming emissions and improve air quality in heavy-traffic areas like ports along the coast. The decision by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency allows California to require truck manufacturers to sell an increasing number of zero-emission trucks over the next couple of decades. The rule applies to a wide range of trucks including box trucks, semitrailers and even large passenger pickups. "We're leading the charge to get dirty trucks and buses - the most polluting vehicles - off our streets, and other states and countries are lining up to follow our lead," Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement.

Desperate Ray Epps enlists notorious Dem-Clinton operatives to threaten Tucker and Revolver News for J6 reporting Signs of the Times

The curious case of Ray Epps stands as the most conspicuous and damning thorn in the side of the Regime's official narrative of the January 6 Fedsurrection. It is fair to say if it hadn't been for the intrepid reporting of Tucker Carlson and Revolver News (if the reader will permit a bit of self-congratulation) the burning questions surrounding Epps' involvement in January 6 would not have received the national attention that they deserve. According to the transcript of the January 6th Committee's interrogation of Epps, Epps himself singles out Revolver News along with representatives Massie, Gaetz, and others as the chief culprit in circulating so-called "baseless conspiracy theories" surrounding Epps' behavior.

BEST OF THE WEB: ICC's Putin arrest warrant based on State Dept-funded report that debunked itself Signs of the Times

The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of the "unlawful deportation" of Ukrainian children to a network of camps inside Russia. The warrant was based on a report by the Yale HRL center, which is funded by the US State Department. US journalist Jeremy Loffredo visited one of Russian government-sponsored camps in question. At The Donbas Express, located just outside of Moscow, Loffredo met youth from war-torn regions who were flourishing thanks to free music instruction, and grateful to be in a secure environment. This article features his exclusive video report. A Grayzone review of the Yale HRL report found the paper's content contradicted many claims contained in the ICC warrant. It also undercut incendiary statements its director, Nathaniel Raymond, issued during media appearances. In an interview with Loffredo, Yale HRL's Raymond further contradicted allegations he made in a CNN interview about a massive...

EU has abandoned peace and prosperity - Orban Signs of the Times

The pro-war lobby has put the entire bloc in danger over Ukraine, the Hungarian prime minister claims... The EU has forsaken its goal of ensuring peace and prosperity for its members, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban declared on Friday. Warning that the bloc is considering sending troops into Ukraine, Orban insisted that Hungary will continue pushing for a ceasefire. "Those who are pro-war have put the whole European Union in danger," Orban told Radio Kossuth, referring to the ongoing efforts by EU member states to arm Kiev's forces. To date, Brussels has supplied Kiev with just under $4 billion worth of arms, while individual member states have donated tanks, artillery, and in the case of Poland and Slovakia, fighter jets to Ukraine. "We expect two things from the European Union; the first is to have lasting peace. The second thing we expect of the EU is that it should preserve the prosperity it has achieved, but in comparison war and sanctions are destroying the European...

Key Russian ally calls for truce in Ukraine Signs of the Times

Moscow and Kiev would freeze movement of troops and military equipment under the deal, the Belarusian president has suggested... Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has urged Russia and Ukraine to agree a ceasefire, warning Kiev that its apparently imminent counteroffensive could lead to the conflict spiraling completely out of control. In a speech to the Belarusian parliament on Friday, Lukashenko stated that the only path to peace in Ukraine lies through diplomatic engagement. "Moscow and Kiev "should stop now before escalation ensues. I will try to risk suggesting a cessation of hostilities... to declare a truce without the right to move or regroup troops on both sides, [and] without the right to transfer weapons, ammunition... and military equipment... for everybody just to freeze." Lukashenko claimed that the West had previously attempted to use a truce to strengthen its hand in Ukraine, but that if it did so again, Russia "would be obliged to use all its military and...

Meet Avichai Buaron, the new Likud lawmaker who advocated for 'extermination camps' for Israel's enemies Signs of the Times

Avichai Buaron is a radical right-wing activist who has been a leader of the movement to maintain the illegal West Bank outpost of Amona, which is illegal even by Israeli law. This week Buaron became the newest member of the Israeli parliament in Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party, replacing lawmaker David Amsalem who resigned his seat to serve in the Justice Ministry. Buaron is notable because, as if his far right-wing advocacy wasn't enough, in 2010 he published an editorial calling for "extermination camps" for Israel's enemies. Yes, you read right, extermination camps. The editorial referenced support for extermination camps for "Amalekites," a common Jewish euphemism. The Amalekites were a people often mentioned in the bible as bitter enemies of the Israelites, where in Deuteronomy the Israelite God commands to "blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven." In contemporary Israel, it is widely understood that "Amalekites" are a reference to Palestinians.

Propaganda outfit The New York Times STRIPPED of Twitter verification Signs of the Times

The New York Times has lost its official Twitter verification. In the early morning hours of April 2, the Times' verification badge dropped from their Twitter profile. New rules have come into play under Elon Musk's stewardship of the media-heavy social media platform. Now media companies, along with individuals, must pay for their verified labels - a move that Musk believes will lead to more accurate information being disseminated on social media. It's meant to be a corrective to the collusion between government, big tech and corporate media. Musk made the change to hold media outlets accountable and to also generate revenue. His stated goal is to make Twitter the most trustworthy social media platform - home to the most accurate information.

Dairy cows are set to be given 'methane suppressants' by farmers to reduce their carbon footprint - by making them burp less. Ministers are looking to force farmers to give herds additives to reduce gas from digestion in 'compound feeds', which contain seaweed and essential oils. The Government's Net Zero Growth Plan, released this week, looked to address concerns from the High Court that existing plans to reach the climate goal before 2050 were not detailed enough.

Rise of inequality and cronyism in Western nations Signs of the Times

Over the past 4 decades, there has been a major increase regarding wage inequality and unequal property ownership occurring mainly in the Western countries. This relates to the neoliberal era launched by US president Ronald Reagan (1981-89) and his ally in London, prime minister Margaret Thatcher (1979-90). Neoliberalism has in effect meant large-scale exploitation by Western elites of the general public. There had long been income inequality in the US, but during the last 40 years it has grown wider there than in any other country. For example in 2013, the chief executives of 350 US companies earned on average $11.7 million that year, while the annual wage of the typical American worker was $35,293.(1) The average income of corporate executives was almost 800 times higher than American workers on the minimum wage, $7.25 an hour. The situation was not much better in Britain. Record-breaking levels of inequality occurred in Britain during the 1980s under prime minister Thatcher,...

Europe Wants War At Any Cost Armstrong Economics

Federal Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren of the Netherlands has handed the Netherlands Army to be subordinated by Germany. He put out the standard propaganda that he did so because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. They ignore the fact that it has been the West who started the civil war and propped up this fake leader in high-heels to send waves of Ukrainians to their death. All because the Western monetary system is collapsing and they desperately need war especially after keeping interest rates NEGATIVE since 2014 wiping out banks and pension funds throughout Europe. The complete integration of all three Dutch army brigades into Bundeswehr structures is a milestone they have declared.

On top of that von der Leyan will most likely take over NATO. The dystopian world of the preening vaccine-mongers Signs of the Times

The narrative is crumbling as doctors thank Aseem Malhotra and Angus Dalgleish for explaining how the mRNA vaccines are injuring their patients Why is the Government still charging ahead with spring and summer booster Covid vaccines with absolutely no scientific justification? Last week I applied to attend a Policy Exchange forum on 'What is the future for vaccines policy?' with speakers from the U.K. Health Security Agency (Dame Jenny Harries), Government (former Health Secretary Sajid Javid MP), the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (Thorrun Govind) and the British pharmaceutical industry (Susan Rienow), who also happens to be U.K. President for Pfizer. The Policy Exchange is the 'conservative' think tank which published "A Fresh Shot, The Future of Vaccines Policy in England" in December 2022. I was eager to hear if any revelations were going to be discussed. My application was initially accepted, but after I filled in all my details they must have had second thoughts and the next...

On Friday, Twitter released the recommendation algorithm portion of its code by publishing it on GitHub, where developers post open source software data. Developer Steven Tey dug into the code and found that there is a mechanism through which the US government can "intervene" with the code. "When needed, the government can intervene with the Twitter algorithm," Tey wrote. "In fact, @TwitterEng (Twitter Engineering) even has a class for it - 'GovernmentRequested.'" Tey linked directly to the code on GitHub. On March 17, Musk announced he was going to make the algorithm open source later in the month and said, "Our 'algorithm' is overly complex & not fully understood internally.
