A massive fire broke out in a market area in Rampur of Assam's Nalbari district. According to the police, around seven to eight shops were gutted in Monday night's blaze. As per latest information, the fire was brought under control by the fire department and police. The bank branch manager mauled by his celebrity chef neighbour's unchained pit bull has died in hospital after spending more than a month in a coma. The dog pounced on victim Mohamed Moheb Al-Mawi as he and his son returned to their home in Sheikh Zayed City, in Egypt's Greater Cairo Area, on February 27. The pit bull severed some of his nerves and tendons in the vicious attack, which was only stopped when his son managed to restrain the dog and free him. Mohamed, 42, was taken to Dar Al Fouad Hospital in 6th of October City, where surgeons transferred nerves from his foot to his arm in an emergency operation. In the operating theatre, his heart reportedly stopped for 30 minutes.

Some parts of Saudi Arabia, particularly the Al Baha region, were hit by unusual hail and snowfall on Monday morning. Cumulus thunderstorms were responsible for the unusual precipitation, which resulted in the closure of several roads and disruption of traffic in the area. Video clips shared on social media showed accumulation of hail that caused vehicles to get stuck on the closed roads. Emergency teams from the municipality had to remove stones and hail from the roads while the city's parks turned white.

Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, was hit by a tornado, leaving a trail of destruction just months after the wider region was devastated by cyclone Gabrielle and deadly flooding. Emergency Management said it began receiving reports of "localised havoc" around Auckland and nearby areas since Sunday evening as photos and videos emerging of widespread destruction show roofs knocked off and trees uprooted. The tornado passed through Golflands to East Tamaki, including Tamaki Heights, Flatbush and Huntington Park.
