Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom): The Genealogy of a Slogan CrimethInc.

On the occasion of March 8, International Womens Day, Somayeh Rostampour explores the origins and implications of the slogan that became the watchword of the uprising in Iran in 2022.

Preface

The revolutionary uprising associated with the slogan Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) began in Iran almost six months ago, on September 16, 2022, when the morality police of the Islamic Republic murdered a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, Jina (Mahsa) Amini. Since then, the whole country has been on fire. This feminist revolution is not simply a response to compulsory hijab; it aims to put an end to 44 years of gender apartheid, patriarchy, military dictatorship, neoliberalism, nationalism, and Islamist theocracy. Like the so-called Arab Spring, the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement demands the fall of the regime with an eye toward systemic social change.

During the first three months of the movement, more than 18,000 activists and protesters were arrested, thousands were injured, and more than 500 people were shot dead or killed during torture, including 70 children. More than 100 people still face the risk of execution. Prisoners have been subjected to various forms of brutality, including baseless verdicts in show trials conducted without independent lawyers and physical and psychological torture aimed at forcing captives to sign false confessions. Women and queer prisoners in particular face the threats of rape and sexual harassment. In the most recent phase of repression, the regime is taking revenge on the womens insurrection by systematically poisoning female students and children with chemical gas in more than 200 schools across the country, resulted in the death of at least two children and the hospitalization of hundreds more.

Despite this, or because of it, the movement lives on. The oppressed classes continue to fight on the street, in prisons and schools, at work, on social media platforms, in the commemoration of martyrs during funeral ceremonies and in solidarity with mothers and families who have lost their children. The Islamic Republic has reached an irreversible point; the wheels of history cannot be turned backwards by repression. When young women in universities chant, This is a womens revolution, do not call it a protest anymore, they mean that This time is different, that they are determined to overthrow the regime. Currently, the rhythm of street protests is reduced; militants have used this interval as an opportunity to organize recover, and reflect.

Eight dead, thousands displaced as flood ravages Zambian capital Signs of the Times

At least eight people have been confirmed dead following floods caused by days of heavy rainfall in the Zambian capital, Lusaka. Lusaka District Commissioner, Christa Kalulu, who addressed journalists at press conference on Tuesday, said the torrential rains that caused serious flooding in the city also affected thousands of residents whose houses were destroyed by the floods. Kalulu said the heavy rains started in February and caused rivers to burst their banks, flooding tens of thousands of homes and forcing people to live in makeshift shelters." She added that the floods also caused a cholera outbreak in the city with about 14 people currently receiving treatment in hospitals.

State broadcaster, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporations said the floods had dumped large amounts of garbage on streets around Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

Palestinian Childrens Art Exposes Israels Cultural Genocide Dissident Voice

The following text tells the whole story of what pro-Palestinian communities around the world are fighting for, and what pro-Israelis are fighting against: We are delighted to report that Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has removed a display of artwork designed by children from Gaza.

That was the summary of a news report published on the homepage of the pro-Israel group, UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI). The group is credited for being the party that managed to successfully persuade the administration of a hospital in West London to take down a few pieces of artwork created by refugee children from Gaza.

Explaining the logic behind their relentless campaign to remove the childrens art, UKLFI said that Jewish patients in the hospital felt vulnerable and victimized by the display. The few pieces of artwork were those of the Dome of the Rock in occupied East Jerusalem, the Palestinian flag and other symbols that should hardly victimize anyone.

The UKLFI article was later edited, with the offensive summary removed, although it is still accessible via social media.

As ridiculous as this story sounds, it is, in fact, the very essence of the anti-Palestinian campaign launched by Israel and its allies worldwide. While Palestinians are fighting for basic human rights, freedom and sovereignty as enshrined in international law, the pro-Israel camp is fighting for a total and complete erasure of everything Palestinian.

Sanctions on Syria: Australias Complicity in Policide Dissident Voice

In 1998, the United Nations humanitarian coordinator in Iraq, Denis Halliday, resigned in protest against UN Security Council sanctions on Iraq, using the term genocide when he explained reasons for his resignation.

Before Hallidays resignation, the US ambassador to the UN, Madeleine Albright had been asked if she thought the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children from US sanctions were worth it. She replied: I think that is a very hard choice, but the price, we think, the price is worth it.

Australias strategic allies in the UNSC America and Britain had voted for the sanctions on Iraq, while Russia, France and China abstained: no country used its veto power to oppose them, so they became law.

People walk past damaged buildings at the Yarmouk refugee camp on the southern outskirts of Damascus Reuters

Sanctions on Syria are quite a different matter. They are unilateral coercive sanctions imposed by individual countries, including Australia. It means, basically, that we contribute to any suffering in Syria that results from the imposition of sanctions.

In a 2021 interview, Denis Halliday explained: We kill people with sanctions. Sanctions are not a substitute for warthey are a form of warfare.

If we accept this as a truth, then Australia has been involved in a war on Syria and its people since 2011 when Julia Gillards government imposed sanctions on Syria. According to DFAT: Australia has imposed sanctions in relation to Syria to reflect Australias grave concern at the Syrian regimes deeply disturbing and unacceptable use of violence against its people.

But what do we know about the truth of events in Syria?

We have come to accept lies were told to enable a war on Iraq. For those of us who are aware of US and UK interference in Syrian affairs over decades, we can safely assume lies have been told to enable the war on Syria.

Today, for a broade...

Strikers block refineries in France over pension reforms Signs of the Times

Over a million people in France went on strike Tuesday to protest against the government's unpopular pension reforms which would raise the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64 years. Some 320 demonstrations have been organized across France and police are expecting between 1.1 and 1.4 million people to take part. The strikes have paralyzed much of France's transport system, with only 20% of high-speed trains running, suspending several international routes, while air traffic controllers also joined the action, leading to cancellations at airports in Paris, Beauvais, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice and Toulouse.

Jurgens is one of only two Georgians arrested Sunday. A lawyer for the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) was arrested and charged with domestic terrorism over the violence that broke out in Atlanta on Sunday in relation to protests of a planned training facility for police officers in the city, the SPLC has confirmed. "An employee at the SPLC was arrested while acting and identifying as a legal observer on behalf of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG). The employee is an experienced legal observer, and their arrest is not evidence of any crime, but of heavy-handed law enforcement intervention against protesters," the SPLC said in a statement on Monday. Thomas Webb Jurgens was among the list of 23 suspected domestic terrorists released by the Atlanta Police Department on Monday. A Texas state lawmaker filed a bill on Monday that would set a referendum for voters to decide whether the state should explore the possibility of seceding from the United States. If the measure known as the TEXIT Referendum Act passes, a referendum on whether Texas "should reassert its status as an independent nation" would be scheduled for the next general election on Nov. 7, 2023. The bill would also require potential plans to be presented to the state legislature. "The Texas Constitution is clear that all political power resides in the people," Rep. Bryan Slaton (R) wrote in a statement. "After decades of continuous abuse of our rights and liberties by the federal government, it is time to let the people of Texas make their voices heard."

Left-wing writer: Young liberals more depressed than young conservatives Signs of the Times

Research shows young liberals, especially liberal girls, are more depressed than conservative youth a trend left-wing writer Matthew Yglesias said could be caused, in part, by "poor behavior by adult progressives, many of whom now valorize depressive affect as a sign of political commitment." Yglesias, co-founder and former columnist for left-leaning Vox and current columnist for Bloomberg Opinion, wrote an article on his Substack titled "Why are young liberals so depressed?" The piece explores recent data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) showing alarming rates of sadness and depression among American teenagers, along with another study exploring the depression levels of American teens broken down by political affiliation. "The CDC survey doesn't ask teens about their political beliefs, but [the study found] not only divergence by gender, but divergence by political ideology," Yglesias wrote. Khamenei says wave of illness hitting Iranian students 'unforgivable' Signs of the Times

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called a wave of illness that has hit hundreds of schoolgirls all across the country over the past four months "an unforgivable crime" and vowed that it should be "severely punished." The unexplained illnesses have required the hospitalization of many young women and girls and ignited parents' and broader public anger over the failure of authorities to identify the cause amid underlying tension brought on by protests over women's rights and rule of law and a resulting crackdown. "Authorities should seriously pursue the issue of students' poisoning," state media quoted Khamenei as saying on March 6 in his most-forceful public response so far to the situation, according to Reuters.

Getting good quality sleep could add several years to your lifespan Signs of the Times

Getting good sleep can play a role in supporting your heart and overall health -- and maybe even how long you live -- according to new research being presented at the American College of Cardiology's Annual Scientific Session Together With the World Congress of Cardiology. The study found that young people who have more beneficial sleep habits are incrementally less likely to die early. Moreover, the data suggest that about 8% of deaths from any cause could be attributed to poor sleep patterns. "We saw a clear dose-response relationship, so the more beneficial factors someone has in terms of having higher quality of sleep, they also have a stepwise lowering of all cause and cardiovascular mortality," said Frank Qian, MD, an internal medicine resident physician at Beth Israel Deaconess

How To Use A Rubble Sack Properly 2023 Guide The Event Chronicle

Rubble sacks are a great way to store and transport building materials such as bricks, concrete, sand and gravel. They can be filled with heavy items, which makes them ideal for construction sites or other areas where large amounts of material need to be moved quickly and efficiently. In this article we will discuss how you can use a rubble sack correctly so that your work environment remains safe and hazard-free.

Source: centurionpackaging.com
  1. Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses and a hard hat when handling rubble sacks. This will help protect you from any potential hazards associated with the contents of the sack.
  1. Make sure that the rubble sack is tightly closed before attempting to move it. If not, there is a risk that the contents may spill out and cause injury or an accident.
  1. Use a lifting device such as a forklift, crane or hoist to move the rubble sack safely. This will help ensure that you dont strain your back or arms with the weight of the sack.
  1. If you dont have access to a lifting device, use another person to help you move the sack. However, make sure that both people wear appropriate PPE and take turns when carrying the bag.
  1. Place rubble sacks on firm, level ground whenever possible. This will help reduce the risk of tipping or falling over due to an uneven surface.
  1. When transporting rubble sacks in a vehicle, be sure to secure them properly using straps or other tie-downs so that they dont move during transit. This is especially important if the sack contains heavy items.
  1. Refrain from overloading rubble sacks as this can make them difficult to carry or move and also increase the risk of injury.

Alexander Lukashenko used harsh words to describe his Ukrainian counterpart's actions amid the conflict with Russia Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has lashed out at his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, accusing him of attempting to drag Belarus into Kiev's conflict with Moscow. On Tuesday, Lukashenko told the media that a Russian A-50 surveillance aircraft sustained minor damage in a drone attack on the Machulishchy air base in Belarus last week, adding that the assault had been carried out by a "terrorist" recruit of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU). "There can be only one conclusion... President Zelensky is just scum. Just scum, as such operations are never carried out without the consent of the head of state and the commander-in-chief. I am telling you this as a president," the Belarusian leader said.

"It's Quite Simple. This World is Barely Managed Chaos... Maintained in that State by Runaway Appetite and Desire." Reflections in a Petri Dish

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

Every one of us is like a giant office building. The average human body has around 30 trillion cells. So... maybe an office building is a severe underestimation, since a billion is a thousand million, and a trillion is a thousand billion.

Every one of those cells is alive and is also specialized. Every one of those cells lives in a specialized subset of a system, and they all have to get along. Otherwise, they go to war. That is what cancer is. It is warfare that starts in a system and could... theoretically engulf the whole body. Usually... it dies before that happens.

The body is filled with superhighways and smaller routes... going out and coming back in. What would you say is the most important quality a body can possess? That would have to be Harmony.

The World too is a body. The same things happen in The World that happens in a body. What would be the most important quality that could exist in The World? That would have to be Harmony too. The same applies to a solar system, a galaxy, and a universe. The word universe seems to almost have the word Unity in it.

So... technically... you are the ruler... should be... could be... of a vast collection of systems, composed of individual components that all interact with each other in the systems where they are resident. How amusing is it that there are people who seek to rule The World around them, and yet... have no control over The World within them?

From my observations, The World external to our individual worlds, seems to go through phases of change that cycle through periods of growth and decline; up you go... down you come. The same thing happens to us. We grow to a point and then we begin to fade away. Eventually... we do fade away as if we had never been here at all.

Harmony... the most desirable element that can be resident in The External World, and The World Within... is an elusive quality; is it not? Some people seem to possess it, but most do not. Especially in these times. Why... it seems that people are falling more and more deeply into inharmonious states of being with every passing day. One of the most dramatic indications of this is that they are going crazy at an ever-increasing clip. That is the fever of Materialism.

Most of the craziness seems to emerge from only a few sourc...

Ford files patent for systems to repossess vehicles by locking features, self-driving capabilities Signs of the Times

Ford Global Technologies, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, has filed a patent for new "systems and methods to repossess a vehicle," including potentially locking certain features after missed payments. A patent application published on February 23, describes a system in which a vehicle computer could be used to "disable functionality of a component of the vehicle or may place the vehicle in a lockout condition." The application describes multiple possible implementations of this system, such as disabling "the air conditioning system, a remote key fob, and an automated door lock/unlock system," using the stereo to "emit an incessant and unpleasant sound every time the owner is present in the vehicle," and even using self-driving to technology to cause the vehicle to move to a place where it could be retrieved by the creditor: In some cases, the vehicle can be a semi-autonomous vehicle and the repossession system computer may cooperate with the vehicle computer in the...

No, the Lockdown Files don't prove the government's pandemic response was all a giant cock-up Signs of the Times

Eugyppius argues that the many thousands of Matt Hancock's finger-flicking conversational exchanges leaked to the Telegraph do not provide evidence of a conspiracy. His argument has much that is sound in it and I admire its tone. But in the great argumentative battle between cock-up and conspiracy as explanations of pandemic protocols, he comes down on the side of cock-up. The protocols were "driven by autonomous political and institutional forces rather than nebulous globalist conspirators". In short, he claims: Advisers and bureaucrats originally pushed for lockdown. Once lockdown protocols were initiated, the Government and the media terrorised citizens to ensure they would comply. Politicians used public panic as an opportunity for politicking. Everything was really about politics, not science. There was a feedback loop, whereby restrictions were introduced, strictly enforced, generating a fear in citizens which justified further restrictions and enforcement. The politicians...

DHS has a program gathering domestic intelligence and virtually no one knows about it Signs of the Times

For years, the Department of Homeland Security has run a virtually unknown program gathering domestic intelligence, one of many revelations in a wide-ranging tranche of internal documents reviewed by POLITICO. Those documents also reveal that a significant number of employees in DHS's intelligence office have raised concerns that the work they are doing could be illegal. Under the domestic-intelligence program, officials are allowed to seek interviews with just about anyone in the United States. That includes people held in immigrant detention centers, local jails, and federal prison. DHS's intelligence professionals have to say they're conducting intelligence interviews, and they have to tell the people they seek to interview that their participation is voluntary. But the fact that they're allowed to go directly to incarcerated people circumventing their lawyers raises important civil liberties concerns, according to legal experts. That specific element of the program, which...

"Strangely enough, people with damage to the dorsolateral and nearby ventromedial areas can have normal intelligence but have no common sense they are unable to make reasonable decisions." (Oakley, Evil Genes, p. 203) Subclinical borderlines seem to have greater executive control, possibly facilitating their success in the social sphere. As with paranoid personality disorder, some researchers do not consider borderline a valid personality-disorder construct. Many of its features are symptoms, not personality traits, making diagnosis inconsistent; some diagnosed with BPD have internalizing (neurotic) traits, others externalizing (antisocial); some respond to treatment, others don't; there are too many comorbidities; and its three main components are probably best understood as separate conditions: a genetic component linked to bipolar, and two others...

We may be looking at a short order decline to around 700,000,000 over the next five years.  and we still lack clear knowledge in terms of hte rerst of the globe.

5 Key Takeaways on the Road to Dominating The Truther

How to Choose Best Online Stock Brokers

Its necessary to use a brokerage service that aligns with ones investment goals, learning style and even educational needs if one needs profitable investing. Its good to find brokers for beginners that fits ones needs given that it means the difference between an exciting new income stream and frustrating disappointment. The best way to set up for success is finding a list of online brokers and having some considerations to make given that there lacks no sure way to guarantee investment returns. Choosing the right online stock brokers requires some due diligence as this helps gets the most for ones money. There are many options available when it comes to investing with a stock broker. The decision on the best online stock brokers is determined by the following factors.

First tip is direct investment advice. When it comes to online investing there are those who prefer to do it all by themselves and others have no interest in such. One should consider whether the online broker they want to hire offers direct investment advice and the cist charged for such service. This investment advice differs with how the stock broker offers it. There are those charging it based on as-needed basis. This means that if one is in need of that kind of advice, its crucial to investigate the availability at any firms one is considering and beware of the pricing structure.

Next is third party referrals. One should get opinions and ideas from those people who are currently invested with such firm or have been in the past. The information form such people helps greatly to choosing the best stock brokers out there. Some sites have biased information therefore a need to avoid relying much on such information provided. This is because such sites tend to be aggregators meaning that they are paid to steer customers to such brokers. One can spot this by looking at those sites providing only superficial information and never report any negatives with such brokers.

Another crucial tip is quality of customer support. Finding best cfd brokers online calls for looking at the quality of their customer support plus availability in its provision. There is need to look whether the support is available in forms such as emails and live chats. Its also necessary to look at their physical locations.

Factoring on investment options available is also necessary. A good online stock broker is one that offers you the ability to invest in quite a large number of assets. Mutual funds, bonds, futures and exchange-traded options are s...

Africa will not be a loaf of bread to be shared by Europeans again Signs of the Times

In his classic rendition of the African "postcolony," the philosopher and political theorist, Achille Mbembe, observed that thinking about Africa in the present world does not come easy. I observe that thinking and writing about Africa and the world in the present does not only not come easy, but it can also be inconvenient and traumatic. In the light and the weight of ongoing geopolitical struggles for global supremacy that pit the USA and its NATO allies against China, Russia and their allies, covert and overt, Africa as a phenomenon and as political food for thought, is a hot potato and what I can call a "political hard hat area" that may not be for the fainted hearted. Observing, thinking and writing about the position of Africa in the present "world disorder" demands a radical loss of innocence for the political observer and the analyst. It demands what Enrique Dussel calls philosophical atheism where one has to disbelieve in powers that have turned themselves into gods on...

Fed Rates Up into 2024? Armstrong Economics

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell has made it clear that he sees higher interest rates ahead in his battle against inflation and their unrealistic 2% target. Many traders are now scrambling talking about how Powell said the Fed will probably raise rates more and possibly faster than previously anticipated. They are now taking that as a warning he may do a 50-bp hike this month. Our computer projected a Directional Change in 2022 and everything is on schedule for the rise into 2024.

Powell also restated his warnings to US banks about the risks of getting involved in the crypto industry. He expressed very clearly that lenders must take great care when engaging with cryptocurrencies. He added that the central bank didnt want to prevent innovation, but it is not bullish on this industry and views it more like the DOT.COM Bubble.

Robert Kagan-ovich of Russia Armstrong Economics

COMMENT: Lazar Kagan-ovich, Starved 6 million people in Ukraine and was the great-grandfather of Robert Kagan, the name came up at ancestry.com.
Its my suspicion, and I thought I would pass that on, I searched this when you wrote the article about the movie of the NYT journalist in Russia. in the 1930s
I read the article today about Victoria Nuland-men
Thanks for your work been following me for almost 10yrs.

RM

REPLY: I cant confirm that Lazar Kagan-ovichs offspring include Robert Kagan. I do find it ironic that he was the architect of starving Ukraine and Stalins right-hand man. What I find curious is that Lazar Kagan-ovich was born by Kiev and was Ukrainian by heritage. Stalin was Georgian. The Ukrainians hate Russians yet it is ironic that the architect of the starvation of Ukraine came from there. Even Wikipedia states:

Kaganovich (together with Vyacheslav Molotov) participated with the All-Ukrainian Party Conference of 1930 and were given the task of implementation of the collectivization policy that influenced the 193233 famine (known as the Holodomor in Ukraine).

As far as Robert Kagan, the husband of Victoria Nuland, is concerned, his father died by the time he was two and his mother left Lithuania and migrated to the USA. Beyond that, only the name links him to the notorious Lazar Kaganovich. The blank slate is curious. The 1569 Union of Lublin created the PolishLithuanian Commonwealth that lasted until 1795. The final Partition of Poland ended both independent Lithuania and Poland. Thereafter, Lithuanians lived under the rule of the Russian Empire until the 20th century. Therefore, as Lazar came from Ukraine, his father was perhaps in Lithuania and was also Russian at that time. The Washington Post wrote of his father:

Like fellow neoconservatives such as Irving Kristol and Norman Podhoretz, he was a Democrat in his youth who turned right in response to the cultural and political upheavals in the 1960s.

If Robert is connected to Lazar Kaganovich, it certainly w...

Ukrainian Military Dissent Against Zelensky Armstrong Economics

Our sources in Ukraine, not Russia, are warning of serious dissent building against Zelensky. He is a high-heel dancing actor who has been playing a confidence game. He is by no means a military leader and the Ukrainian Military is at its ends with him. The Ukrainian General Valery Zaluzhny, is having a serious conflict with Zelensky. Even others have come out and commented to the German newspaper, the Bild, that the General called for a withdrawal from the Donbas city weeks ago, but Zelensky orders his men to die all for his endless PR campaign to pretend that Ukraine is winning.

The General told Zelensky to withdraw from Bakhmut. But Zelensky pretends for PR that it is a fortress despite the fact that it has been cut off and completely;y surrounded with only one road available for possible evacuation and Zelensky refuses to withdraw. Even the Biden Administration has been urging Zelensky to pull out and focus on preparing a major counteroffensive for the spring. Yet, Zelensky fears admitting publicly a defeat that would hurt the billions flowing into Ukraine. This was part of the Ukrainian defense line that they created when Kiev began its invasion of the Donbas in 2014 on their claimed Anti-Terrorist offensive to kill all Russians and deny them any right to separate seeking their independence in the 2014 Revolution.

Even those speaking to the Bild expressed deep concern that they do not understand why the city is being held and believe they should have withdrawn a long time ago. Zelensky proclaims that his Ukrainian forces would defend Bakhmut as long as it remains reasonable to do so.

Our sources are clearly saying that Zelensky is losing support and if anyone will becomes the next President it will be General Zaluzhny.

Spinning the Polls: European Council think-tankers fabricate research results to conceal opposition to NATO war against Russia Signs of the Times

Timothy Garton Ash (lead image, left) and Mark Leonard (right), and Ivan Krastev (centre), a Bulgarian, claim to have discovered from opinion polls they conducted in nine European Union (EU) countries during January that "since Russia's war on Ukraine began, the US and its European allies have regained their unity and sense of purpose...Russia's aggression in Ukraine marks both the consolidation of the West and the emergence of the long-heralded post-Western international order." "The growing hostility of Europeans towards Russia is reflected in their preference not to buy Russian fossil fuels even if it results in energy supply problems. This is the prevailing view in every one of the nine EU countries polled, with an average of 55 per cent of these EU citizens supporting it. It is now clear that, contrary to the Kremlin's expectations, the war has consolidated the West, rather than weakened it." "Average" is a telltale admission from Ash, Leonard, and Krastev.

And, it turns out, it benefits the solar panels too, improving their performance and longevity by keeping them cooler.

The Right to Be Let Alone: When the Government Wants to Know All Your Business Dissident Voice

Experience teaches us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the governments purposes are beneficent.

Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis

There was a time when the census was just a head count.

That is no longer the case.

The American Community Survey (ACS), sent to about 3.5 million homes every year, is the byproduct of a government that believes it has the right to know all of your personal business.

If you havent already received an ACS, its just a matter of time.

A far cry from the traditional census, which is limited to ascertaining the number of persons living in each dwelling, their ages and ethnicities, the ownership of the dwelling and telephone numbers, the ACS contains some of the most detailed and intrusive questions ever put forth in a census questionnaire.

At 28 pages (with an additional 16-page instruction packet), these questions concern matters that the government simply has no business knowing, including questions relating to respondents bathing habits, home utility costs, fertility, marital history, work commute, mortgage, and health insurance, among other highly personal and private matters.

For instance, the ACS asks how many persons live in your home, along with their names and detailed information about them such as their relationship to you, marital status, race and their physical, mental and emotional problems, etc. The survey also asks how many bedrooms and bathrooms you have in your house, along with the fuel used to heat your home, the cost of electricity, what type of mortgage you have and monthly mortgage payments, property taxes and so on.

And then the survey drills down even deeper.

The survey demands to know how many days you were sick last year, how many automobiles you own and the number of miles driven, whether you have trouble getting up the stairs, and what time you leave for work every morning, along with highly detailed inquiries about your financial affairs. And the survey demands that you violate the privacy of others by supplying the names and addresses of your friends, relatives and employer.

The questionnaire also demands that you give other information on the people in your home, such as their educational levels, how many years of school were completed, what languages they spe...

Making Choices Dissident Voice

The purpose of this article is to explore the making of choices, a subject that is not nearly as simple or commonplace as it may seem.

Choice and Power, You, My Liberty Quotient and the Corpocracys Power Elite

Choice and Power. To state the obvious, more powerful people can make and have implemented monumental choices whenever they choose to do so. In stark contrast, how many different choices can a homeless person make?

You. Now, think of yourself. You chose to read this article. How many choices did you make, say, yesterday? Probably a lot without even youre recognizing you were choosing among alternatives.

My Liberty Quotient. Reading the Declaration of Independence somehow gave me the idea to create the concept of the liberty quotient. Here is what it looks like:

Liberty quotient = # choices freely made/# desired choices prevented

The bigger the numerator is than the denominator obviously denotes the persons liberty quotient is higher, signifying greater freedom to make and fulfill desired choices than a person with a lower quotient.

U.S. Corpocracy and Its Power Elite. Not a democracy, the U.S. corpocracy is simply the collusion between two sets of power elite; the superior set of titans in selected industries such as the war and related industries who tell the subordinate government power elite what to buy, what to do and what to say. The titans liberty quotients are obviously sky high. In a true democracy the liberty quotients among the populace would be more evenly distributed, certainly not skewed toward a small portion of the total population. And minus the overwhelming power of the elite, there would be no poverty and peace, not war, two fantastic choices realized.

Good Choices and Hubris

Most of us who have the means to do so probably make hundreds of choices every day. We may not be aware of habitual choices, like whether to get dressed right away after getting out of bed. But there may be some deliberate choices where the outcomes are good, and we feel very good about them. For example, when I pick the right golf club and hit the ball onto the distant green close to the pin, I am elated, even ecstatic! It is a natural feeling some call hubris, defined by Merriam-Webster as exaggerated pride or self-confidence. Now, I dont like including exaggerated pride in the definition. Why not instead, for instance, quiet pride or modest pride. Or why not call hubris a virtue. We can go all the way back to the ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, who claimed that Pride, then, seems to be a sort of crown of the virtues; for it makes them greater, and it is not found without them.1...

Curious Case of Mandelas Lawyer Illustrates Media Bias Dissident Voice

The story is not about Irwin Cotler lying. Its about the media embracing a biographical detail because they support the US empire and Zionism.

Seven years ago, the South African ambassador to Venezuela Pandit Thaninga Shope-Linney stated plainly that Irwin Cotler was not Nelson Mandelas lawyer. Three years later Max Blumenthal pointed out that in Nelson Mandelas memoir, The Long March to Freedom, there is no mention of Irwin Cotler. Recently Davide Mastracci demolished the claim that the establishments human rights darling was a lawyer for the long imprisoned African National Congress (ANC) leader.

On its surface Mastraccis deep dive into a decades-old biographical anecdote of an 82-year-old former justice minister may appear almost petty. But it actually offers an important window into Canadian media.

According to Mastraccis search of the Canadian Newsstream database, there were more than 320 results mentioning that Cotler was Mandelas lawyer. As time has passed, the mentions have grown with 164 stories noting the biographical detail in the 2010s. Cotler has gotten far more press coverage crediting him with representing Mandela than he ever did while he was supposedly doing the work, notes Mastracci.

But theres little evidence for the Mandel...

Wanting War over Taiwan: Australias Gang of Five Dissident Voice

Diligently, obediently and with a degree of dangerous imbecility, a number of Australian media outlets are manufacturing a consensus for war with a country that has never been a natural, historical enemy, nor sought to be. But as Australia remains the satellite of a Sino-suspicious US imperium, its officials and their dutiful advocates in the press seem obligated to pave the way for conflict.

The latest example of this came in articles run in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age of Melbourne. The premise is already clear from the columnists, Peter Hartcher and Matthew Knott. Australia faces a Red Alert, and, to that end, needs a warring fan club. Not since the domino theory bewitched strategists and confused military planners have Australians witnessed this: a series of articles featuring a gang of five with one purpose: to render the Australian public so witless as to reject any peaceful accommodation.

First, the provocative colouring for the article, How a conflict over Taiwan could swiftly reach our shores. The Australian continent is shown bathed in a sea of red. Various military bases and facilities are outlined. For good measure, there is a picture of Australian soldiers firing an artillery piece in military exercises in 2018 at Shoalwater Bay, Queensland.

Then, the blistering opening lines of terror. Within 72 hours of a conflict breaking out over Taiwan, Chinese missile bombardments and devastating cyberattacks on Australia would begin. For the first time since World War II, the mainland would be under attack. The authors already anticipate a good complement of US troops to occupy the Australian north, some 150,000 seeking refuge from the immediate conflict zone.

The Red Alert panellists, anointed as defence experts, brim with such scenarios. All, as they state in a joint communique, agree on one thing: Australia has many vulnerabilities. It has long and exposed connections to the rest of the world sea, air and undersea yet is incapable of protecting them.

Leading the gang of five is Peter Jennings, who has had an unshakeable red-under-the-bed fantasy for years. A former deputy secretary for strategy in the Australian Defence Department, and steering the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) for a decade (thats Canberras revolving door for you), Jennings is adamant and steely. As I think of a conflict over Taiwan, what Im thinking about is something that very quickly grows in scale and location.

There is no reason at all why such a growth in scale or location should happen, but this is not the purpose of the exercise. The point of the Red Alert fantasy is to neutralise the sig...

Xi says US seeking to contain China, Foreign Minister says it risks provoking 'conflict and confrontation' Signs of the Times

Chinese President Xi Jinping has publicly criticized the US and accused it of leading a Western attempt to "contain" his country. Foreign Minister Qin Gang also warned Washington to "hit the brakes" or risk "conflict and confrontation." "Western countries led by the United States have implemented all-round containment, encirclement and suppression of China, which has brought unprecedented severe challenges to our nation's development," Xi said in a rare verbal attack on Monday, as quoted by state media. The Chinese leader was meeting with industry and business groups during an annual gathering of an advisory body to the Communist Party. His speech focused on the national economy, with the remark about Washington's policy illustrating what he called "uncertain and unpredictable factors" in the international environment, which also included the Covid-19 pandemic.

Poland's ruling party under fire after outing opposition MP's son as victim of pedophile, son committed suicide after being identified Signs of the Times

Poland's ruling Law & Justice party has come under fire over the death of an opposition MP's 15-year-old son, who killed himself after a report by a state-run radio station led to his identification as the victim of a paedophile. The Polish parliament, the Sejm, stood for a minute's silence on Tuesday during the funeral of Mikolaj Filiks. His mother, Magdalena Filiks, an MP from Poland's main opposition party, Civic Platform, said last week that he had died in February. The teenager took his life weeks after a report on a convicted paedophile by Radio Szczecin, part of the state-run broadcaster Polskie Radio network, revealed details about the victims that allowed Filiks to be easily publicly identified.

Over 1 million march in France at sixth major rally this year, 56% of French people support rolling strikes Signs of the Times

More than 1.2 million protesters marched in France on Tuesday as rail workers and refinery staff began rolling strikes and trade unions stepped up their campaign to try to stop Emmanuel Macron's plan to raise the pension age to 64. For the sixth time since the start of the year, trade unions called a nationwide day of strikes and demonstrations. Many protest rallies attracted bigger crowds than previous ones organised since mid-January, including in Marseille, one of France's biggest cities, authorities and local media said. "The idea is to bring France to a standstill," said Fabrice Michaud of the railway workers' branch of the CGT trade union. Rail unions called for rolling, open-ended strikes, which could affect all national trains as well as international routes including the Eurostar. Bin collectors and truck drivers joined the action.

DeSantis urges Biden to allow Novak Djokovic to compete in Miami Open, wonders if he can enter U.S. via boat CLG News

DeSantis urges Biden to allow Novak Djokovic to compete in Miami Open, wonders if he can enter U.S. via boat | 7 March 2023 | Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called on Joe Biden to allow tennis superstar Novak Djokovic into the United States to play in the upcoming Miami Open even though he's unvaccinated against COVID-19. In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, DeSantis urged Biden to "put pandemic politics aside and give the American people what they want - let him play." DeSantis wrote that Djokovic's denial to enter the U.S. is "unfair, unscientific and unacceptable." DeSantis wondered whether Djokovic could potentially enter the U.S. by boat. "It is also not clear to me why, even by the terms of your own proclamation, Mr. Djokovic could not legally enter this county via boat," DeSantis wrote, citing a proclamation that barred noncitizens from entering the U.S. via the air. "Please confirm no later than Friday, March 10, 2023, that this method of travel into Florida would be permissible. Furthermore, even as you enacted a Proclamation on air travel that remains in force to this day, your administration pointedly allowed thousands of unvaccinated migrants to enter our country through the southern border," the letter adds.

Mass protests against Lukashenko, a close ally of Russia's President Vladimir Putin, then erupted which his security forces suppressed, locking up his opponents or forcing them to flee. Exiled Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was handed a 15-year jail term on Monday after being convicted in absentia for treason and "conspiracy to seize power", a verdict she said was punishment for her efforts to promote democracy. Tsikhanouskaya, 40, a former English teacher, fled to neighbouring Lithuania in 2020 after running against incumbent leader Alexander Lukashenko in a presidential election, which official results showed Lukashenko won by a landslide.

Capitol Police Served as 'Tour Guides' for 'QAnon Shaman' on Jan. 6 - Tucker Carlson CLG News

Capitol Police Served as 'Tour Guides' for 'QAnon Shaman' on Jan. 6 - Tucker Carlson --"Capitol Police officers take him to multiple entrances and even try to open locked doors for him. We counted at least nine officers who are within touching distance of unarmed Jacob Chansley." | 7 March 2023 | The face of the Jan. 6 incursion--the so-called "QAnon Shaman," Jacob Chansley--was peacefully escorted around the U.S. Capitol by police on Jan. 6, Fox News host Tucker Carlson alleged on March 6 in his first special based on exclusive access to 41,000 previously unseen hours of Capitol security video. Carlson showed CCTV security video of Chansley walking calmly through the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Not only did the police not try to stop Chansley, they escorted him, Carlson said. "Virtually every moment of his time inside the Capitol was caught on tape," Carlson told his national television audience. "The tape shows that Capitol Police never stopped Jacob Chansley. They helped him. They acted as his tour guides. Capitol Police officers take him to multiple entrances and even try to open locked doors for him," Carlson said.

Allegorical Intermezzo Signs of the Times

"If, however, as Pareto suggested... a governing elite is inevitable, then we are certainly under the wrong elites. Whether a circulation of elites can be completed in time to save the world economic system from ruin and the majority from destitution and veritable slavery is a question of no little urgency." Michael Rectenwald Imagine that on an April evening in 1912, the captain of the RMS Titanic had announced a grand ball at which the male passengers were asked to wear their wives' clothing and vice-versa.... That was approximately the condition of Western Civ verging on springtime in 2023: preoccupied with silliness while the iceberg awaits. But who would have thought the sinking of civilization would occur with such fantastic comic ornamentation? Men, in more ways than mere costuming, pretending to be women... incompetence honored, feted, even worshipped... intellect reduced to anti-thinking... anything of value thrown overboard in some weird post-modern potlatch ceremony of...

Seismic Diplomacy: Erdogan and the aftermath of the Turkish earthquakes Signs of the Times

President Erdogan may be instrumentalizing what happens in the aftermath to craft his P.R. campaign ahead of the next elections. The setting: a cosy Ossetian restaurant owned by two Ossetian ladies close to Istiklal street, a very busy central area of Istanbul. The players: a smatter of Istanbul intelligentsia - academics, media, liberal professionals, lawyers, highly educated, secular, very critical of the AKP ruling party. The questions: during dinner, I asked the table their analysis of the state's response to the deadly earthquakes in Turkey, and how President Erdogan may be instrumentalizing what happens in the aftermath to craft his P.R. campaign ahead of the next elections. After our conversation, it was still not officially confirmed whether the next presidential elections will be held on May or June 2023. So the stage is set for an unedited exercise in direct democracy, with some stunning answers, and way more enlightening than what Turkish media and think tanks may be...

Schumer Calls on Fox News to Stop Tucker Carlson From Airing More Jan. 6 Footage | 7 March 2023 | The U.S. Senate's top DemocRAT on March 7 called on Fox News to stop host Tucker Carlson from airing additional, never-disclosed footage from Jan. 6, 2021. "I don't think I've ever seen a primetime cable news anchor manipulate his viewers the way Mr. Carlson did last night. I don't think I've ever seen an anchor treat the American people and American democracy with such disdain," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on the Senate floor in Washington. "And he's going to come back tonight with another segment. Fox News should tell him not to." Fox News and Fox Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch "must order Tucker Carlson to stop," Schumer added in a written statement. [LOL! Stuff it, traitor!] Carlson on Monday aired footage showing U.S. Capitol Police officers walking around with Jacob Chansley, a Jan. 6 defendant serving time in prison after pleading guilty. Another clip showed Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick inside the Capitol Rotunda after he clashed with people outside the building.

Britain's descent into authoritarianism Signs of the Times

Quamquam animus meminisse horret - Although my mind shudders to remember. So says Aeneas in Book 2 of Virgil's Aeneid when he embarks on telling Dido the terrible story of the fall of Troy. And that's exactly how I feel every time I think back to the dark days of 2020 and 2021. Not because of the virus but the dizzying and reckless speed with which this country plunged into authoritarianism. The revelations of Hancockgate are all over the news and on this website. There's no need for me to recount them here. Toby has already pointed out it was the usual political clown show. No doubt there are plenty more revelations to come. One of the common threads filtering through now though is the disgust with which the government presided over the creation of a totalitarian state. Rod Liddle is one, with his 'Unmasking the truth about Covid' telling us: It was the authoritarian mindset which demanded that countervailing opinions should not even be heard and that the people voicing them...

Dogs of war: Here's why the Ukraine conflict could be about to spread to another European country Signs of the Times

What lies behind concerns in Moldova, and the breakaway region of Transnistria? For the past several weeks, Eastern Europe has been on the verge of a new war. Moldova risks returning to active conflict with the self-proclaimed republic of Transnistria - a separatist region, with a slavic majority, which broke away from Chisinau during the collapse of the USSR. Ukraine has a special interest in the territory, because launching a military action there could be doubly beneficial for Kiev. It would embarrass Moscow, which only has 1,500 peacekeepers stationed and no way to currently reinforce them, and would also allow Kiev potential access to a huge arms dump. The facility at Kolbasna - with a reported 22,000 tons of weaponry - is one of the largest in Europe, and it's located only 2km from the Ukrainian border. During Soviet times, the strategic reserves of the Western Military District were stored here. However, most of the ammunition was brought to the warehouse after the...

Netanyahu justifies strikes on nuclear facilities Signs of the Times

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that the option of attacking an Iranian nuclear facility in "self-defense" must be left on the table, arguing that the chief of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) made an "unworthy" statement when he declared that any such strikes are banned. Netanyahu said on Sunday in a cabinet meeting: "Are we forbidden to defend ourselves? Of course, we are allowed, and of course, we are doing this... Nothing will prevent us from protecting our country and preventing oppressors from destroying the Jewish state." Netanyahu's remarks came a day after IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi was asked by a reporter about US and Israeli threats to attack Iran if it doesn't agree to curb its nuclear program. "Any military attack on a nuclear facility is outlawed, is out of the normative structures that we all abide by," Grossi said at a press briefing in Tehran after meeting with Iranian leaders. That principle applies to all...

US planners continue to occupy northeastern Syria under the pretext of fighting ISIS... Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited US forces occupying northeastern Syria on Saturday, 4 March, allegedly to assess efforts to prevent a resurgence of ISIS and to review safeguards for US forces against attacks, including from drones flown by Iran-backed militias, Reuters has reported. Some 1,000 American troops continue to support allied Arab and Kurdish militias from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the region. Milley, whose term as chairman of the joint chiefs ends in September, met with the commander of the US-led coalition to defeat ISIS, Army Maj. Gen. Matthew McFarlane, and reviewed security measures from an undisclosed base in Syria's northeast. According to Al-Monitor, Milley's visit to Syria signals the Biden administration's seriousness about keeping troops in the country in support of the SDF. Rhode Island mom Nicole Solas slammed an area teachers' union she claimed harassed her and made her the topic of a "secret meeting" after she made a records request regarding the district's curriculum. Solas told Fox News' Rachel Campos Duffy Sunday on Fox & Friends Weekend: "They painted me like a wanted enemy of the state simply because I submitted public records requests. "There were 250 teachers that attended where they were alerted to me being an attack on public education." Solas, who was sued by her daughter's school district last year, said presentation slides condemning her at the secret meeting were leaked to her by a teacher.

Rare quasar triplet forms one of the most massive objects in the universe Signs of the Times

Supercomputer simulations on Frontera reveal the origins of ultra-massive black holes, the most massive objects thought to exist in the entire universe. Ultra-massive black holes are the most massive objects in the universe. Their mass can reach millions and billions of solar masses. Supercomputer simulations on Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC)'s Frontera supercomputer have helped astrophysicists reveal the origin of ultra-massive black holes formed about 11 billion years ago. "We found that one possible formation channel for ultra-massive black holes is from the extreme merger of massive galaxies that are most likely to happen in the epoch of the 'cosmic noon,'" said Yueying Ni, a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

What did Putin mean by 'denazification' of Ukraine and why is it so important? Signs of the Times

For years, Russia has been calling on Western nations to investigate cases of human rights abuse, illegal killings, and war crimes committed by the Ukrainian authorities that came to power after the 2014 coup. Moscow pointed out that many of them were committed by neo-Nazis against Russians or Russian-speaking people. When Russian President Vladimir Putin was announcing the start of a special operation to protect the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) on 24 February, he described the goals as "demilitarising and denazifying" Ukraine. His spokesman later elaborated that "denazifying" means that Russia is planning to free Ukraine from neo-Nazis, their supporters, and their ideology. Moscow has repeatedly warned foreign nations about neo-Nazis taking control of Ukraine following the West-backed coup in 2014. However, Western nations chose to ignore the human rights violations committed by the Kiev regime. What were these crimes?

Neo-Nazi brotherhood: How American friends of Ukrainian fascists plotted a terror attack in the US and the media ignored the story Signs of the Times

In normal circumstances, the Atomwaffen's plot in Baltimore should have been headline news American far-right radicals - linked to neo-Nazis from the Ukrainian Azov Battalion - have been charged with conspiring to stage a terrorist attack in Baltimore, Maryland. However, US media reporting on the story does not mention connections between the group and the militants. Additionally, the attempted terrorist act may only be the first signs of the threat that Azov members, and their foreign friends, pose to Western countries.

Antifa should be labeled for what it is a hate group Signs of the Times

In June 2020, the Southern Poverty Law Center posted an article entitled, "Designating Antifa as domestic terrorist organization is dangerous, threatens civil liberties." The organization that supposedly tracks extremism in America dismissed the idea that Antifa was a threat to anyone. The "anti-fascists" are "broad, community-based" and "represent a large spectrum of the political left." "Individuals loosely affiliated with Antifa are typically involved in skirmishes and property crimes at demonstrations across the country," the article hand waves. "But the threat of lethal violence pales in comparison to that posed by far-right extremists." Will the SPLC change its tune now that 23 members of Antifa were arrested as domestic terrorists for violently attacking a police facility outside Atlanta?

BEST OF THE WEB: Matt Hancock's plan to 'frighten the pants off everyone' about Covid Signs of the Times

Throughout the course of the pandemic, officials and ministers wrestled with how to ensure the public complied with ever-changing lockdown restrictions. One weapon in their arsenal was fear. "We frighten the pants off everyone," Matt Hancock suggested during one WhatsApp message with his media adviser. The then health secretary was not alone in his desire to scare the public into compliance. The WhatsApp messages seen by The Telegraph show how several members of Mr Hancock's team engaged in a kind of "Project Fear", in which they spoke of how to utilise "fear and guilt" to make people obey lockdown.

In Loco Masculi: The feminization of the American university is all but complete Signs of the Times

Sometimes a single incident efficiently summarizes a larger trend. So it is with New York University's selection of its new president, Linda Mills, a licensed clinical social worker and an NYU social work professor. She researches trauma and bias, as well as race and gender in the legal academy. She is a documentary filmmaker and teaches advocacy filmmaking. She serves as an NYU vice chancellor and as a senior vice provost for Global Programs and University Life. In all these roles, Mills is the very embodiment of the contemporary academy. The most significant part of her identity, however, and the one that ties the rest of her curriculum vitae together, is that she is female, and thus overdetermined as NYU's next president. Mills is part of the Great Feminization of the American university, an epochal change whose consequences have yet to be recognized. Seventy-five percent of Ivy League presidents are now female. Nearly half of the 20 universities ranked highest by Forbes will...

Mother Sues D.C. Doctor Who Gave Kids COVID Vaccines Without Consent CLG News

Mother Sues D.C. Doctor Who Gave Kids COVID Vaccines Without Consent --The suit, filed by D.C. Attorney Matthew Hardin, seeks damages for false imprisonment, battery and fraud. | 6 March 2023 | The mother of two children who were given COVID-19 vaccines without the mother's consent is suing the doctor who administered the vaccines. An attorney representing NaTonya McNeil last week filed a lawsuit in Superior Court for the District of Columbia against Janine A. Rethy, M.D., M.P.H. According to the complaint, on Sept. 2, 2022, McNeil took her two older children, ages 15 and 17, to the KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile clinic, operated by Georgetown Hospital, to complete their required annual physical exam for the 2022-2023 school year. The lawsuit alleges Rethy, director of the mobile clinic, held the children in the examination room longer than necessary for a regular check-up and vaccinated them against COVID-19 over their objections and without consulting their mother... Both children were upset and angry they had been coerced into vaccination, the complaint says.

Punctuated emergence: Pandemic policies arise primarily from the unbounded myopia and stupidity of the people who govern us Signs of the Times

Conspiracy and coordination were important at the beginning, but national governments and their institutions rapidly assumed the initiative in all areas of pandemic policy. We are witnessing an unprecedented, comprehensive failure of policy, medicine and science. The world will never be the same. Arguing the conspiracy-or-emergence question with respect to pandemic policy is a little like weeding the garden. You are never quite done with it, and every few months you find you have something more to say. In this instance, I must thank friend-of-the-blog Igor Chudov for providing the opportunity. He disagrees with my view that Covid policies owe less to creepy conspiratorial globalists, than they do to the unbounded stupidity of our leaders, boring institutional dynamics, and feedback effects. He's explained why in an extensive post that everyone should read.

Hundreds of UFO sightings in Southwestern Ontario since the 1990s Signs of the Times

Triangles, spheres, boomerangs, and fireballs. For decades, people have reported seeing UFOs of all shapes and sizes in the skies over Southwestern Ontario. Since 1991, Winnipeg-based Ufology Research has recorded 153 UFO sightings in Windsor and Essex County, including five in 2022. There have been 328 sightings since 1989 in the London region, including six last year. Chris Rutkowski, a writer and researcher with Ufology Research, said those sightings likely weren't alien-related. Of course, there's no way to know for sure. "We've always been interested in the possibility of, 'are we alone in the universe?' " said Rutkowski, who has been investigating UFOs since the 1970s. "Are there other creatures like us or intelligent beings? We try to put our own lives in some perspective. There's a little bit of saviour mentality. Maybe the aliens can help figure a way out of the mess that we've made of Earth. If they've travelled all around the galaxy, maybe they're much more intelligent...

AOC begged to go to exclusive Met Gala, even if it meant breaking the rules CLG News

AOC begged to go to exclusive Met Gala, even if it meant breaking the rules By Nicole Gelinas | 5 March 2023 | Courtesy of an ongoing congressional ethics investigation into Bronx Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, we now know the trick to socialism: Don't pay for stuff. When AOC marched up the Met Museum steps in her famous dress 18 months ago, the slogan in red painted on the back, instead of reading "TAX THE RICH," should have read "STIFF THE PROLETARIAT." ...So AOC came by the biggest part of her Met Gala grift the old-fashioned way: trading off the elected position with which Bronx and Queens voters entrusted her. AOC snagged two free tickets (after much prodding by her campaign staffer) by cozying up to Vogue's Anna Wintour, who runs this show for the Met. AOC's written invitation specifically informed her that she and her boyfriend were "guests of Vogue." ...Even with these heavy discounts, AOC tried to weasel out of paying this vendor, and multiple other hard-working New York City small-business people. "It appears several thousands of dollars' worth of services may have remained unpaid absent the [Office of Congressional Ethics] initiating this review," investigators have found (so far).

The planet that could end life on Earth - Experiment demonstrates solar system's fragility Signs of the Times

A terrestrial planet hovering between Mars and Jupiter would be able to push Earth out of the solar system and wipe out life on this planet, according to a UC Riverside experiment. UCR astrophysicist Stephen Kane explained that his experiment was meant to address two notable gaps in planetary science. The first is the gap in our solar system between the size of terrestrial and giant gas planets. The largest terrestrial planet is Earth, and the smallest gas giant is Neptune, which is four times wider and 17 times more massive than Earth. There is nothing in between. "In other star systems there are many planets with masses in that gap. We call them super-Earths," Kane said. The other gap is in location, relative to the sun, between Mars and Jupiter. "Planetary scientists often wish there was something in between those two planets. It seems like wasted real estate," he said. These gaps could offer important insights into the architecture of our solar system, and into Earth's...

UK school blasted for replacing girls' bathroom mirrors with 'provocative' posters: 'Very medieval' CLG News

UK school blasted for replacing girls' bathroom mirrors with 'provocative' posters: 'Very medieval' | 7 March 2023 | A school in Worcester, England, has come under fire for replacing mirrors in the girls' bathroom with "motivational" posters featuring messages about beauty. The head teacher of Christopher Whitehead Language College had mirrors replaced with quotes like, "Beauty is nothing without brains" and "Dear girls, Makeup is a harmful drug. Once you start using it, youll feel ugly without it." "If all girls started wearing no makeup and comfortable clothes, guys would have no choice but to fall for girls because of natural beauty," another poster read. The posters peeved parents who argued the signs were sending the wrong message... Journalist Ateh Jewel argued on Britain's This Morning in response to the school controversy: "Makeup is not the problem. Makeup is about expressing yourself, being joyful...Those slogans are very medieval about attracting a mate. Makeup and beauty and wellness is about the inside out."

Standing Together: Resisting the New Normal Dissident Voice

The US wanted Russia to attack Ukraine. So says Robert H Wade, professor of Global Political Economy at the London School of Economics. And then it brought in its wide-ranging sanctions regime in response. According to renowned investigative journalist Seymour Hersch, the US subsequently blew up the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The result is that Europeans are experiencing an energy crisis, and Germany in particular faces deindustrialisation. The Ukraine situation is not just a NATO proxy war with Russia. It is also a trade and energy war inflicted by the US on Europe.

Although the impact of the war is acutely felt by Europe, inflation continues to increase across the Western countries, including the US, and their economies are in crisis.

While the sanctions and war are having an inflationary impact, they serve as convenient cover for the effects of a massive increase in quantitative easing that occurred in late 2019 and in 2020. The US Federal Reserve created almost a fifth of all US dollars ever created in 2020. According to economist Professor Richard Werner, central banks around the world also pumped more money into their economies during this period. He concludes that central banks are largely responsible for the inflation we now see.

Financial markets were collapsing in October 2019, and the crisis reached a head in February 2020 with a massive crash. Prior to COVID and then under cover of this bogus public health crisis, trillions of dollars were pumped into the economy and...

Three Women Discover the Americas Best Kept Secret: Nicaragua! Dissident Voice

The Alliance for Global Justice sent out an invitation to apply for Women In Nicaragua: Power & Protagonism Jan. 7-16, 2023.  How did this nation close the gender gap by 80% in just 15 years? Three women who had met in the Green Party decided to find out. We were accepted as delegates on the brigade and flew in from California, Florida, and Virginia.

From the Sandino International Airport, its a short ride to Casa Benjamin Linder, a charming retreat graced with hammocks, a hot tub, and inspiring murals. Linder was a young engineer and activist, the first US citizen killed by US funded Contras in 1987 while bringing electricity to mountain villages. We stayed in the Rita Clark room, named for the mother of Jill Clark-Gollub who volunteered expert simultaneous translation.

Our first briefing began with BREAKING NEWS. According to a Gallup Poll, Nicaraguans are among the happiest people on earth! Despite being in the second poorest nation in the hemisphere, 73% always feel at peace, nearly twice the global average and first worldwide. Why? Read on!

Nicaragua has 6,733,761 people on 130,373 sq km with 153 cities/towns.

Becca Renk, our gracious tour guide, is from the US and has lived in Nicaragua for 20+ years, raising her children there while working with the Jubilee House Community and Center for Development in Central America. Our packed agenda went without a hitch thanks to her skills and the spirited cooperation of 19 fellow delegates, aged 10 to 80 from diverse walks of life.

Day 1: San Pablo Apostle Community Church. We attended a service and lunch with parishioners. Adjacent to the church is their school, and the Hugo Chavez soccer fields.

We saw churches everywhere. There are frequent religious processions. Freedom of religion is alive and well in Nicaragua. Liberation Theology was a crucial ally in the 1979 Sandinista Popular Revolution. However, in allying with elites and US capitalists, some traditional, dogmatic Catholic leaders brutally persecuted those who helped the poor and bucked the system. Their corruption surfaced again in the failed coup of 2018.  222 lawbreakers (including some former Sandinistas who were proven to have sabotaged the government via roadblocks, murder and even torture) were tried, convicted, imprisoned, and recently released to the US.

The location of the landslide and continued rain were complicating search and rescue efforts, the BNPB said on Twitter. Communications had also been cut off, it said. The Natuna Search and Rescue Agency's head, Abdul Rahman, told the AFP news agency that 15 people had been confirmed dead and 50 were missing.

Angry moose attacks family on snowmobiles in Idaho Signs of the Times

An Idaho family was lucky to escape an attack by an angry moose while they were out on their snowmobiles in the Palisades, east of Idaho Falls. Jeremiah Bigelow posted the incident on his Instagram account, describing how the moose came between him and his brother, who was ahead of him, on the trail they were riding. The moose initially charged Jeremiah, who had his son and other friends behind him. Jeremiah quickly put his snowmobile in reverse but got stuck as his son's snowmobile did not have a reverse gear. Jeremiah's brother realized that Jeremiah was stuck and tried to draw the moose's attention away from the group, thinking he could quickly speed away. But right as he jumps back on the snowmobile, it dies, and he is forced to dive to his safety, narrowly avoiding the charging moose.

Most of those who made their way into the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 are "totally innocent," former US President Donald Trump has insisted after Fox News host Tucker Carlson published new footage of the events. Carlson had earlier been granted access by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to more than 40,000 hours of security video records from the Capitol on the day of the riots. On Monday, the Fox News host shared some of those clips on his program, showing Trump's supporters behaving peacefully inside the US Congress in Washington, DC.

Netanyahu slams IAEA chief for saying attacks on nuclear facilities are 'outlawed' Signs of the Times

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday slammed International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi for saying attacks on nuclear facilities are "outlawed." Israel has a history of launching covert attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities, and Netanyahu has been threatening to take more overt action. US officials have also said President Biden will keep a military option on the table to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon even though the Pentagon and CIA recently acknowledged Tehran is not seeking a bomb. Grossi just returned from a visit to Iran, where he secured a pledge for the IAEA to receive more access to Iranian nuclear facilities. When asked about the US and Israeli threats, Grossi said that "any military attack on a nuclear facility is outlawed, is out of the normative structures that we all abide by."

Biden's "great economic recovery" narrative is built on deception Signs of the Times

This past month a poll held by ABC and the Washington Post with a 37 year history asked Americans if they were better or worse off in the two years since Biden entered the White House. If you were to ask Biden this question, you would be regaled with a flurry of great news about a fantastic economic recovery, epic jobs numbers, falling inflation and a dropping deficit. When you ask actual average citizens, you get a much different reply. According to the ABC/Post poll, Americans say they are worse off than they have ever been, with the most negative data in the history of the survey. Over 40% of respondents indicated their financial situation was worse under Biden. Only 16% of people said they were better off. Not only that, but 60% of Democrats polled said they did NOT want Joe Biden as their candidate in 2024, and 62% of all people polled said they would be disappointed or even angry if Biden remained in the White House for a second term. This is astounding. How does one...

Gates Foundation Insider Admits Covid Vaccines Are Abortion Drugs To Depopulate the World

https://newspunch.com/gates-foundation-insider-admits-covid-vaccines-are-abortion-drugs-to-depopulate-the-world/

Covid-19 mRNA vaccines were designed as abortion drugs to quietly and deceitfully sterilize vast swathes of the human race, according to a Gates Foundation insider who has admitted that Bill Gates vaccine trials in Africa and India, in which thousands of children were sterilized, were trial runs for the mRNA vaccine roll-out in the Western world.

Many people are still refusing to see the globalist elite for what they really are. They want to believe Bill Gates is a philanthropist and if he accidentally sterilized half of Western Africa and India, then it must have been an accident. They want to believe the World Economic Forum are committed to improving the state of the world.

Idiocracy by design Terra Forming Terra

This is not possible unless it is planned and deliberately acted upon.  And where else than Chicago et all.

It is my belief that the only way anyone should be allowed into university is by successfully clearing the full STEM agenda and solid literacy in English in particular.  Everything else handily comes under trade school classification and that even includes most forms of computer programming.

We have the tools today for anyone to polish their writing skills to a high level.  And reading skills come with reading

Obvious this cuts the whole university MEME down to size and true research schools do fine as well.

The current regime is supposed to educate folks, but it is done with a cherry picked supply of texts.  How is this supposed to educate?  You are the one who educates himself and this is hardly encouraged.  In fact, the best that can be said is that the best thinkers get drunk and skip classes.

The bill that would give Americans a four-day workweek Terra Forming Terra

It has certainly become timely to discuss a sensible work week regulation system.  It really needs to be about optimizing outputs.  We have in each week exactly 168 hours or 42 four hour shifts.  Not a bad way to look at it.  I also think that the four hour shift should be the prime unit.  I have already posted that our so called minimum wage needs to be set around a guaranteed four hour base shift that pays base costs.

Clearly we still have with this either five days of two four hour shifts or alternately four days of two four hour shifts and perhaps thgree days of three four hour shifts.  Plenty of flexibility and overtime can be in two hour addons.

The key goal should be four days on and three days off to fully recharge.  To this end we can have two three shift days in there.

The big payoff is that four on will fully drain your energy while three off will also fully recharge your energy.  Also a mandatory break period allows mind resting between shifts if planned peroperly.  This can be really important for all mind work because hte brain actually needs a short term recharge.  And no alcohol in particular unless you want to wreak yourself.

This is driven first by our biology and do understand any rules fighting it will smiply be gamed.  We have long since understood that letting workers run at their own pace is best and letting them keep up with each other while rewarding group performance alone.

Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif., is reintroducing a bill to put Americans on a four-day work week, capitalizing on a spate of recent news about the concept.

Why childcare shouldnt be a job-linked benefit Fast Company

The more that Americans come to believe that childcare is to be individually acquired through ones employer, the less reason to create a system everyone can access.

Last week, the Biden administration took the unusual step of connecting industrial policy with childcare policy. In order to qualify for large sums available through the CHIPS Act, semiconductor manufacturers must explain how they are going to guarantee affordable childcare for their employees. This is a dangerous wrong turn, not because companies shouldnt be expected to meet the needs of their workforce but because childcare should never be a job-linked benefit.

Carnivores attacks on humans are becoming more common Terra Forming Terra

We have always had a problem with carnivores and it is only in the past two centuries that we have realy suppressed their numbers.  Unfortunately they are now recovering, mostly because their food supply has also recovered.

The big problem is that we need to fully integrate our animal husbandry with our agriculture.  Venison, wild turkeys and Wild pigs in particular need to be handled everywhere.

Then we have carnivores who are all opportunistic hunters. Coyotes and cougars are a real danger to children who need to be trained and always paired with a dog if doing walk about.  Wolves are dangerous to anyone when they are hungry.  Do not run alone in the winter.

That should keep you safe.  To do better, study the animals habits.

It is still eary days and we need to do more to scare them as well.  .

Carnivores attacks on humans are becoming more common, and climate change isnt helping

Rising population has led to increased human encroachment on natural habitats, but climate change is also pushing some animals closer to population centers, experts say.

Thomas Webb Jurgens was among the list of 23 suspected domestic terrorists released by the Atlanta Police Department on Monday. Violence broke out in Atlanta on Sunday after protesters of a planned police training facility hurled bricks and Molotov cocktails at officers and set cars on fire.

From Peep Shows to Webcams: A Brief History of the Adult Entertainment Industry The Event Chronicle

The adult entertainment industry has come a long way from the days of peep shows to the age of webcams. Jasmine Live is just one example of how technology has revolutionized the industry, but before we dive into that, lets take a brief look at the history of adult entertainment.

The earliest form of adult entertainment can be traced back to ancient civilizations like Greece and Rome, where erotic art and literature were common. However, the modern era of adult entertainment began in the early 20th century with the rise of peep shows.

Source: reddit.com

Peep shows were small booths where customers could insert coins and watch a performer behind a glass screen. These shows were popular in the red-light districts of major cities and were often associated with prostitution. However, with the advent of motion pictures in the 1920s, the adult entertainment industry began to take on a new form.

The first adult film, A Free Ride, was released in 1915, but it wasnt until the 1970s that the industry really took off. This was the era of porno chic, a time when adult films were shown in mainstream theaters and even received critical acclaim. However, the 1980s brought a crackdown on the industry, with the government enforcing stricter regulations and the advent of the VHS tape making it easier for people to watch adult films in the privacy of their own homes.

But the real game-changer for the adult entertainment industry came with the internet. In the 1990s, adult websites began to pop up, offering everything from photos to videos to live webcam shows. And this is where Jasmine Live comes in.

Jasmine Live is a popular webcam site that launched in 2002. It allows performers to broadcast live shows to viewers around the world, with the option for viewers to interact with the performers via text chat. This technology has completely transformed the adult entertainment i...

Is the US Following Ancient Athens? Armstrong Economics

COMMENT: Marty,

Zelinsky has tried to portray himself as a military leader, cloaked in the symbolism of a military strongman. Gaddafi, Hussein, Stalin, and even Hitler come to mind. All were seen as ardent nationalists. Zelinsky did this to attract enormous weapons and capital to this country, ensuring that his face becomes the symbol of the military leader.

In truth, Zelinsky is a figurehead whose survival depends on outside assistance. Ukraine continues to bleed out citizens, while its military gets eviscerated. Even with the weapons provided by the West, Ukraines military was never of the caliber of Russias. A Heroic figure he is not.

The West probably bet the sanctions and outside pressures would force Putin to withdraw. No one counted on Putin to stand his ground. Putins determination to crush Zelinsky means his tenure is linked with his war record and battlefield performance.  Panic is now setting in. Zelinsky is as much a puppet regime as we saw in South Vietnam. It lacks broad support and like the one in Saigon, Kiev will collapse sooner or later from outside pressure.

Once collapse happens, military defeat means political defeat. Therefore, the West is panicked to raise the stakes and step in to bolster a puppet regime. The US entered Vietnam slowly, then suddenly. It now appears NATO is following this same process, first indirectly, now perhaps directly. They have turned Ukraines future into some kind of existential life-or-death battle. For NATO, that is certainly the case. Having squandered untold billions, their military readiness is now on the line.

Kennedy tried to block the expansion of the US presence in Vietnam and was assassinated for it. Johnson enthusiastically took over and then realized his generals, Westmoreland to be precise, had no real plan. Johnson lost by blindly following the military. Trump tried to keep the US out of wars and was ousted by a fraudulent election. Biden enthusiastically took over echoing Johnson. As with Vietnam, an unpopular regime with no support, Ukraine...

Colonel Douglas MacGregor & Sources Armstrong Economics

COMMENT #1:  I have been watching Colonel Douglas MacGregor (ret), on alt news sites. He is a former tank commander in the Gulf war and has worked extensively with NATO, before retiring. I love his direct commentary so in a nutshell he says the following:
1. Ukraine has lost up to 250k troops and they are in dire straits. They will lose the war badly.
2. The US military is in dire straits too and if push, comes to shove, could only provide 50k troops within weeks. They are down on ammunition (all gone to Ukraine) and the recruitment targets for all 4 branches are lower than what the DoD is telling us.
3. The European military is not ready at all and would be ineffective.
4. Which leads to him saying that the USA/NATO will not enter the war, because sane heads in the military will not allow it. I hope he is right, but he does not rule out false flags or Bidens ineptitude.
You should watch him, hes great, a man with genuine battle experience and knows the political machinations of DC, yet strongly anti war.

NC

COMMENT #2: Colonel Douglas MacGregor has often come out and confirmed what you have said weeks or months before. It looks like he has similar sources. He went to West Point. Did they also teach your War Model as did the Citadel? A lot of generals graduated from the Citadel.

Keep up the great work

HB

REPLY: Perhaps we both have similar contacts. As far as West Point, I do not know if they ever taught our models. What I do know, is that there is a serious risk that Uktaine loses and all the fake news that keeps putting out the propaganda has not considered what happens if Ukraine loses.

US is Losing Another War Ukraine Armstrong Economics

The United States has launched a proxy war, unconstitutionally, circumventing Congress and the American people no less the entire world. What must be understood, is that the Biden Administration, the puppet of the Neocons led now by Victoria Nuland, has brought the entire world to the brink of World War III and they have now begun the countdown to the decline and fall of Western Civilization

Who is Victoria Nuland and why has she the queen of the Neocons? Victoria Nuland has been one of the leading Neocons always advocating war with Russia. She is behind the propaganda that Russia is on the verge of defeat and that the Russian army is really dysfunctional. This is standard propaganda. They put out the same exact line about the troops in Iraq. This is to convince Americans that they can wage war and it will be over in just a few hours or days. This is the typical Neocon sales pitch to justify their endless thirst for war. They are trying to provide justification to rush in for an easy defeat of their target.

Besides the Neocons treason against the Constitution always manipulating proxy wars without the consent of Congress in violation of Section I, Article 8, there is also one huge very serious undisclosed conflict of interest and the Biden Administration should immediately fire Victoria Nuland and all her supporters within the Biden Administration to save the world and our nation.

Reid Hoffman and his cofounders were seeking funding in an era when eBay was hot and Friendster was better known than TheFacebook.

For our new oral history of LinkedIn, we talked to dozens of people and pieced together a detailed story of how the business-centric social network rose from a mere idea in 2003 to the indispensible global platform it is today. But even at 6,000-plus words, our account couldnt cover the whole tale from every angle. A whole chapter could be written about August 2004, for instance, when LinkedIn was a promising but not particularly well-known startup nearing the million-member mark and looking to secure funding. Thankfully, Hoffman captured it himself by writing a blog post about it when the company turned 10 in 2013, including the pitch deck that he had used to seek Series B funding from investors.

Cost of living: Grocery inflation hits new record high of 17.1%, data shows Signs of the Times

UK grocery inflation continued to climb during February to reach a new record high of 17.1%, according to closely-watched industry data. Kantar Worldpanel reported that the increase over the past 12 months meant that families faced a potential 811 annual rise in the cost of their regular shopping basket. It had been hoped that a decline in the pace of grocery prices during December would mark a turning point in that element of the cost of living crisis. But Kantar later revealed that temporary Christmas discounting had been largely responsible, as the big four chains fight to maintain market share amid the challenge posed by discounters and other cheaper rivals.

The Havana Syndrome Case Cracked Dissident Voice

Even before the attack on the homeland of the weather balloons,
the Havana Syndrome tested Americas mettle.

The Havana Syndrome was first reported in Cuba in 2016. The mysterious malady initially afflicted US embassy staff in Havana, especially those attached to intelligence missions. It then spread to Canadian embassy officials. The sudden headaches, debilitating dizziness, and hearing excruciatingly painful sounds struck both at work and at home. Oddly, the Cubans themselves appeared immune to the pathology.

Soon other cases of what the US Defense Department called anomalous health incidents (AHIs) were reported in Russia, China, Colombia, Uzbekistan, and then even in the US. This mass psychogenic illness was experienced mostly by US government spies, diplomats, and military personnel all over the world, according to Wikipedia. A government-wide response was precipitated with support groups established.

The US State Department announced that it considered attention to the Havana Syndrome an absolute priority. Secretary of State Antony Blinken...

1 in 8 homes suffering fuel poverty in UK, energy bills have TRIPLED despite 'price cap' Signs of the Times

Just under one in eight of all households in England were found to be fuel-poor in 2022. Now in 2023 the true impact of the energy crisis over the past 12 months has been revealed with the release of shocking new statistics. Express.co.uk has analysed the harrowing picture of fuel poverty in England. Britons paid more in household energy bills in 2022 than any other year in history, with the ensuing cost-of-living crisis stretching budgets to and beyond breaking point for many. After four consecutive rises since February 2021, the state energy regulator Ofgem had the price cap set at 4,279 by the end of the year - over triple the average annual bill just three years earlier. On Monday, Ofgem announced that from April 1, the price cap would fall by almost 1,000 to 3,280 -but with a 500 increase to the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) scheduled at the same time, the pain of the last year is likely to endure for many throughout 2023.

Polish deputy minister calls EU's approval of insects a 'food war' Signs of the Times

A Polish deputy agriculture minister has criticised the EU's recent approval of two types of insects for use in food products, saying there was a campaign to overturn the "dietary values of the West". Comment: The West's dietary guidelines are fairly skewed already - favoring detrimental carbohydrates over optimal animal products - but this propaganda push for insects is another level of sinister. In January, the EU approved house crickets and the larvae of lesser mealworms for human consumption in powder and other dried forms as part of a drive to limit the impact animal farming has on the environment. Insects, which are a popular food choice in many parts of the world, are rich in protein and require much less land and water than meat to produce.

Laughable: Paranoid US suspects Chinese-made cranes are 'Trojan Horses' used to gather intelligence Signs of the Times

The Pentagon sees giant Chinese-made cranes operating at US ports, including several shipping hubs used by the military, as a potential "Trojan horse" that China could use to gather intelligence on materiel being moved in and out of the country, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. Lockdown Files: Matt Hancock rejected advice to cut Covid isolation as it would 'imply we've been wrong' Signs of the Times

Matt Hancock rejected advice from England's Chief Medical Officer to replace the 14-day Covid quarantine with five days of testing because it would "imply we've been getting it wrong". Mr Hancock was told by Prof Sir Chris Whitty in November 2020 that it would be "pretty well as good" for contacts of positive Covid cases to test for five days "in lieu" of a fortnight's isolation. WhatsApp messages between the two have also revealed that the 14-day quarantine period was likely to have been "too long all along". By then, nearly a million people in England who had come into contact with an infected person had been told to self-isolate for a full fortnight, even if they had no symptoms. Although ministers reduced the self-isolation period to 10 days in December 2020, it was not until the following August that some groups were made entirely exempt from the requirement. In November 2020, Sir Chris and other government advisers were "in favour" of trialling the alternative system. But Mr...

Chris Hedges: Lynching the Deplorables MintPress News

The criminal investigation undertaken by the federal government against hundreds of participants in the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol is polarizing the country and shredding civil liberties.

There is little that unites me with those who occupied the Capitol building on Jan. 6. Their vision for America, Christian nationalism, white supremacy, blind support for Trump and embrace of reactionary fact-free conspiracy theories leaves a very wide chasm between their beliefs and mine. But that does not mean I support the judicial lynching against many of those who participated in the Jan. 6 events, a lynching that is mandating years in pretrial detention and prison for misdemeanors. Once rights become privileges, none of us are safe.

The U.S. legal system has a very sordid history. It was used to enforce segregation and legitimize the reign of terror against Black people. It was the hammer that broke the back of militant union movements. It persecuted radicals and reformers in the name of anti-communism. After 9/11, it relentlessly went after Muslim leaders and activists with Special Administrative Measures (SAMs). SAMs, established by the Clinton administration, originally only applied to people who ordered murders from prison or were convicted of mass murder, but are now used to isolate all manner of detainees before and during trial. They severely restrict a prisoners communication with the outside world; prohibiting calls, letters and visits with anyone except attorneys and sharply limit contact with family members. The solitary confinement like conditions associated with SAMs undermine any meaningful right to a fair trial according to analysis by groups like the Center for Constitutional Rights and can amount to torture according to the United Nations. Julian Assange faces SAMs or similar conditions should he be extradited to the U.S. The Classified Information Procedures Act, or CIPA, begun under the Reagan administration, also allows evidence in a trial to be classified and withheld from defendants. EU's solutions for Ukraine don't work - member state Signs of the Times

The first step in bringing peace to Ukraine should be to stop people from being killed and establish a ceasefire as soon as possible, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Sunday, during an interview with Sweden's SVT. The diplomat dismissed the idea of supplying Ukraine with weapons, currently being done by a number of NATO countries, as a viable method to achieve peace. Asked why Hungary refuses to send weapons to Kiev, Szijjarto pointed to the devastating consequences of the war, and how Western arms have only exacerbated the conflict. "Look at the infrastructure, look at the people, look at the number of people leaving the country, look at their former houses, look at the damage, the energy infrastructure. This country is being demolished, destroyed. I don't think that would be of interest to anyone," he said. Szijjarto stated that Hungary, as opposed to other European countries, sees the first priority in the Ukrainian conflict as being to "stop killing people,"...

Russia and Cuba working to counter US sanctions - ambassador Signs of the Times

Moscow and Havana have been implementing financial mechanisms to shield their economic cooperation from US sanctions, Russian Ambassador to Cuba Andrey Guskov revealed last week. "The introduction of independent settlement mechanisms is being successfully carried out, which will help protect cooperation with Cuba from the negative impact of the US trade, economic and financial blockade, as well as establish ties bypassing the financial organizations of unfriendly states," the Russian diplomat said. In January, the chairman of the Russia-Cuba Business Council, Boris Titov, said that in order to mitigate the effect of Western sanctions, the countries are considering new mechanisms for mutual settlements, including in ruble and cryptocurrencies, as well as clearing schemes.

Time is Always Fixed Crude is the Example Armstrong Economics

QUESTION: Thank you for the interesting update on Crude & Natural Gas previously. Since Feb was a Directional Change and March is a turning point, then the choppy with no breakout. Since electric car demand has peaked, the Fed seems determined to get inflation down to 2% if it kills the world economy. Then the decline in supply is not having the expected rise in prices as one would expect. Can you explain this paradox?

Thank you

JV

ANSWER: Yes the Directional Change in Crude for February warned that we would bounce rather than decline. There was a slight possibility of an early low in March and a swing up perhaps on geopolitical news. But that has not played out.

It appears that Ukraine is losing so there may be a bigger question of how the United States handles yet another loss Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq where removing Saddam led to religious wars. Note that the Fed began raising rates as soon as Russia invaded to protect the Donbas. Despite claiming it was for inflation, the Fed knows too well that inflation rises with war. They acted when Russia made its move understanding that this proxy war would accelerate inflation.

Market Talk March 6, 2023 Armstrong Economics

ASIA:

Retail sales of vehicles in India jumped 16% to around 1.8 million units in February, helped in part by strong demand during the wedding season, an industry body of automobile dealers said on Monday, adding that festivals could push the sales higher in March. Sales have picked up in the last two months as chip shortages eased and automakers launched new models to tap into the demand ahead of the festival and wedding seasons. However, rising interest rates amid elevated inflation are seen as a sentiment dampener, with overall sales in February still below pre-Covid levels. Sales of two-wheelers advanced 15%, while those of three-wheelers jumped 81%, passenger vehicles 11%, tractors 14%, and commercial vehicles 17%, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said in a statement. Auto sales numbers are keenly watched, as they are one of the key indicators to assess private consumption and carry more than 50% weightage in calculating the countrys economic growth.

Meet the British intelligence-linked firm that warped MH17 news coverage Signs of the Times

Staffed by British special forces veterans, Pilgrims' Group quietly shaped international coverage of the MH17 disaster as it shepherded journalists to and from the crash site. In November of 2022, a final judgment arrived in the trial of alleged perpetrators of the attack on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17). Russian nationals Igor Girkin and Sergey Dubinskiy, and Donbas separatist Leonid Kharchenko, were convicted in absentia for the murder of MH17's 283 passengers and 15 crew members. They were ruled to have arranged the transfer of the Buk surface-to-air missile system that reportedly struck the plane. Oleg Pulatov, the only defendant to seek legal representation during the trial, was conversely acquitted on all charges, which prosecutors will not appeal. The Malaysian airliner had been purportedly shot down by a missile on July 17th 2014, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew aboard. Heavily dependent on information supplied by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and the...

West created 'Nazi paradise' in Ukraine to fight Russians - Dugan Signs of the Times

Kiev's backers, however, ultimately don't believe it will win, the political philosopher said... The West has fostered the creeping "nazification" of Ukraine in order to make its people hostile to Russia, political philosopher and author Aleksandr Dugin has told RT. In an exclusive interview aired on Saturday, he said that Kiev's backers have tried to hide from their own citizens the growing tolerance of nationalists and neo-Nazis in the country. Dugin said: "The West thinks in such a manner: We could not create artificial nationalism in Ukraine and push Ukrainians to fight Russians [any other way]. For a traditional society, liberal values cannot be the goal to defend. So they need something [else]. The most radical [tool] to create and promote this artificial pseudo-consciousness is nationalism ... or Ukrainian Russophobic fascism. And it is being used by the [globalist] liberals. They destroy any kind of nationalism on their [own] territories. But in Ukraine, on the other hand,...

Emperor has no clothes: Chinese media mocks US push to project itself as Asia hegemon Signs of the Times

In a television appearance this week, US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns assured that America's position in Asia is "stronger" today "than it was five or ten years ago," and that Beijing will simply have to accept that Washington "is staying in this region" and is "the leader in this region in many ways." Chinese media has brushed off the US ambassador's "powerless and ridiculous" claims that the US is still the undisputed leader in Asia and that China will just have to deal with it. The Global Times' wrote an editorial response to Burns' "leadership" comments: "What the US politician said implies two messages. First, he seems to criticize China for not understanding US' presence in the Asia-Pacific. Second, Burns wants Beijing to acknowledge Washington's leadership in the region. Yet, both are far from the truth." The outlet explained that Washington's "strategic miscalculation" has always been to believe that China would like to push the US out of Asia. The reality, GT...

US to ban investment in Chinese high tech - WSJ Signs of the Times

Washington plans to prohibit American investment in the high-tech sectors of rival economies, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing sources and reports on the proposed regulation from the US Treasury and Commerce Department. The restrictions will likely target private and venture capital investments in the production of semiconductors, artificial intelligence and quantum computing, and will mostly be aimed against China, sources close to the discussions about the new regulations told the news outlet. The WSJ notes, however, that the reports do not name specific countries that will be affected by the measures nor the economic sectors seen as posing a risk to US national security. However, the outlet notes that the focus will be on sectors that could increase the military capabilities of US rivals. The Treasury report, for instance, said: "The new foreign investment rules will focus on preventing US capital and expertise from being exploited in ways that threaten our...

In 2019, Asia's leading military power oversaw a 7.5% increase in its defense budget to 1.19 trillion yuan - around $172 billion. Kari Lake files petition for review for historic election lawsuit in the Arizona Supreme Court Signs of the Times

Kari Lake filed new paperwork and 779 pages of evidence in the Arizona Supreme Court today, appealing the lower courts' decisions to dismiss her lawsuit contesting the rigged 2022 Election. Lake also filed a 'Motion To Expedite' her case, arguing that "expeditious action to resolve these issues is needed to safeguard Arizona voters' right to free and equal elections." The Maricopa County Superior Court and Arizona Court of appeals disregarded the evidence, "ignored this Court's precedents for reviewing election contests and ratified Maricopa officials' decision to ignore Arizona's ballot chain-of-custody ("COC") and logic and accuracy testing ("L&A testing") requirements set forth in Arizona's Election Procedures Manual ("EPM"), and A.R.S. 16-621(E), 16-449, 16-452(C)," argues Lake's attorneys in their 'Petition for Review.'

Chinese cars filling void left by Western brands in Russia Signs of the Times

Chinese car brands have embarked on a major expansion in Russia amid the exodus of European, American, and Japanese brands, Bloomberg reported on Thursday. In 2022, Chinese automakers Geely, Chery, and Great Wall Motors took a 17% share of Russia's car market, filling the void left by the world's largest automobile manufacturers, such as Volkswagen, Nissan, Renault, and Toyota, which pulled out of the country last year. Economic sanctions and political pressure made it difficult for many automakers to continue operations in Russia last year. In particular, logistical disruptions arose once imports of cars and spare parts to the country were stopped.

Thousands of UK pubs could go bust due to soaring energy costs - industry body Signs of the Times

Britain's hospitality sector could lose thousands of jobs amid soaring energy costs, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) has warned, as it called on the government to extend a lifeline for the industry. According to a BBPA report on Wednesday, citing data from Oxford Economics, a further 2,000 pubs are at risk of closure, threatening 25,000 jobs. The research suggested that on-trade beer sales will decline by 9% in 2023-2024, which equates to 1 million fewer barrels of beer sold, or 288 million pints. "The BBPA is calling on the government to use the Spring Budget to show it understands just how much pubs and breweries mean to their communities, and the pressures the sector is facing, and deliver a plan for sustainable growth with fair, modernized tax rates and a focus on skills and training needed to ensure pubs and breweries can thrive," the association stated.

"Ukraine is our neighbor where Hungarians live as well," he continued. "They are being conscripted and are dying by the hundreds on the front." There is Something to Intergenerational Capitalist Trauma Dissident Voice

My colleague Rachel Yehuda studied rates of PTSD in adult New Yorkers who had been assaulted or rapes. Those whose mothers were Holocaust survivors with PTSD had a significantly higher rate of developing serious psychological problems after these traumatic experiences. The most reasonable explanation is that their upbringing had left them with a vulnerable physiology, making it difficult for them to regain their equilibrium after being violated. Yehuda found a similar vulnerability in the children of pregnant women who were in the World Trade Center that fatal day in 2001. Similarly, the reactions of children to painful events are largely determined by how calm or stressed their parents are.
Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma

Oh, I know I sometimes blithely say, Violence is in the DNA of Americans. Or, I say, Americans are colonized, in constant fear, flight, freeze mode because of their intergenerational trauma put upon so many millions here and tens of millions outside the border of U$A. Or, yep, Collective Stockholm syndrome brought upon the masses through Disneyfication, McDonaldization and Infantalization. I am serious, though, about epigenetic trauma, and if a child witnessing pain, hate, parents shooting up, violently attack each other, poverty, drug use, all of that stuff, well, the DNA is in fact changed for the babe, the juvenile, as all those stress hormones there are dozens and hundreds in concert with all sorts of other bodily functions tied to the gut and brain and cortisol interplay they morph child into hyper-vigilant and hyper-reactive and possibly hyper-mentally disjointed teens And then what happens to them in adulthood?

You have to wonder what is in the water, meat, air, soil, Cheetos when we see this in Greece but nothing of the sort in Palestine, Ohio. I am looking at how collectively traumatized Americans are, in so many ways, from education, TV, militaristic leaders, lynchings, the entire reservation and internment and hateful Gilded media Class shitting on us. Two trains, two countries, two derailments, two different collective responses.

Roman era sphinx uncovered at Dendera temple complex Signs of the Times

AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL MISSION FROM THE AIN SHAMS UNIVERSITY HAS UNCOVERED A ROMAN ERA SPHINX DURING EXCAVATIONS AT THE DENDERA TEMPLE COMPLEX, LOCATED IN THE QENA GOVERNORATE OF EGYPT. The Temple of Dendera is a large ceremonial complex covering an area of 9.8 acres. The complex is centred on the Hathor Temple, a sanctuary which has been modified on the same site since the Middle Kingdom until the time of the Roman Emperor Trajan. Recent excavations led by Dr Mamdouh El Damaty, a former antiquities minister and a professor of archaeology at Cairo's Ain Shams University, revealed a Roman structure in an area east of the main complex where a temple dedicated to Horus is located. The structure is built using limestone and mortar, consisting of two levels. The lower level contains a large basin for collecting water from the Byzantine period, where the researchers found a Roman era sphinx statue.

Peru and the Peoples Defenses Dissident Voice

Following the January mobilization to protest the removal from office of Perus Indigenous President Pedro Castillo, unofficial reports indicate continuing resistance to the Dina Boluarte assumed Presidency.

The Boluarte government is backed by an extreme right Parliament and the countrys military. As well as the U.S. and Canada alone among countries of the Americas. It represents the multinational corporate resource stripping interests (in Peru this includes Chinas copper mining and U.S. gold mining) of an elite. The Boluarte government has murdered over sixty protesters, placed roadblocks throughout the country and regions under emergency law. Castillo is in prison without habeas corpus or trial. Large protests fueled by Indigenous groups from the countryside have gathered repeatedly in Lima and other cities. Demands of the people are largely ignored. The basic problem is that Parliament has consistently fought elected President Pedro Castillos attempts to nationalize portions of the countrys resources and protect the environment itself from destruction by corporate resource interests.

Boluartes attempts to increase government control of the press and her willingness to use the military and martial law against nonviolent protest, are normalized by the authorities and international press. Trade unions have backed the protests. 80% percent of the people are now said to be against the Boluarte government. While the protest movement has remained clearly nonviolent, its protesters are labeled terrorists; resistance is increasingly cast as moving toward a civil war. As financial news assures us roads to the mines are opening again, a genocide warning continues.

Meanwhile Democracy Now ! reports that in Guatemala the Indigenous movements candidates for Presidency, Thelma Cabrera and running mate Jordn  Rojas, have been barred from running. The likely winner of the election will be Zury Ros, daughter of Ros Montt, former dictator convicted of genocide against Indigenous villagers. His conviction was overturned by a court of the privileged.
