Standing Together: Resisting the New Normal Dissident Voice

The US wanted Russia to attack Ukraine. So says Robert H Wade, professor of Global Political Economy at the London School of Economics. And then it brought in its wide-ranging sanctions regime in response. According to renowned investigative journalist Seymour Hersch, the US subsequently blew up the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The result is that Europeans are experiencing an energy crisis, and Germany in particular faces deindustrialisation. The Ukraine situation is not just a NATO proxy war with Russia. It is also a trade and energy war inflicted by the US on Europe.

Although the impact of the war is acutely felt by Europe, inflation continues to increase across the Western countries, including the US, and their economies are in crisis.

While the sanctions and war are having an inflationary impact, they serve as convenient cover for the effects of a massive increase in quantitative easing that occurred in late 2019 and in 2020. The US Federal Reserve created almost a fifth of all US dollars ever created in 2020. According to economist Professor Richard Werner, central banks around the world also pumped more money into their economies during this period. He concludes that central banks are largely responsible for the inflation we now see.

Financial markets were collapsing in October 2019, and the crisis reached a head in February 2020 with a massive crash. Prior to COVID and then under cover of this bogus public health crisis, trillions of dollars were pumped into the economy and...

Three Women Discover the Americas Best Kept Secret: Nicaragua! Dissident Voice

The Alliance for Global Justice sent out an invitation to apply for Women In Nicaragua: Power & Protagonism Jan. 7-16, 2023.  How did this nation close the gender gap by 80% in just 15 years? Three women who had met in the Green Party decided to find out. We were accepted as delegates on the brigade and flew in from California, Florida, and Virginia.

From the Sandino International Airport, its a short ride to Casa Benjamin Linder, a charming retreat graced with hammocks, a hot tub, and inspiring murals. Linder was a young engineer and activist, the first US citizen killed by US funded Contras in 1987 while bringing electricity to mountain villages. We stayed in the Rita Clark room, named for the mother of Jill Clark-Gollub who volunteered expert simultaneous translation.

Our first briefing began with BREAKING NEWS. According to a Gallup Poll, Nicaraguans are among the happiest people on earth! Despite being in the second poorest nation in the hemisphere, 73% always feel at peace, nearly twice the global average and first worldwide. Why? Read on!

Nicaragua has 6,733,761 people on 130,373 sq km with 153 cities/towns.

Becca Renk, our gracious tour guide, is from the US and has lived in Nicaragua for 20+ years, raising her children there while working with the Jubilee House Community and Center for Development in Central America. Our packed agenda went without a hitch thanks to her skills and the spirited cooperation of 19 fellow delegates, aged 10 to 80 from diverse walks of life.

Day 1: San Pablo Apostle Community Church. We attended a service and lunch with parishioners. Adjacent to the church is their school, and the Hugo Chavez soccer fields.

We saw churches everywhere. There are frequent religious processions. Freedom of religion is alive and well in Nicaragua. Liberation Theology was a crucial ally in the 1979 Sandinista Popular Revolution. However, in allying with elites and US capitalists, some traditional, dogmatic Catholic leaders brutally persecuted those who helped the poor and bucked the system. Their corruption surfaced again in the failed coup of 2018.  222 lawbreakers (including some former Sandinistas who were proven to have sabotaged the government via roadblocks, murder and even torture) were tried, convicted, imprisoned, and recently released to the US.

At least 15 killed in Indonesia landslide, dozens missing Signs of the Times

At least 15 people have been killed, with dozens missing after torrential rains and landslides hit Indonesia's Natuna region on the edge of the South China Sea. Pictures and video from the national disaster mitigation agency (BNPB) showed landslides cascading through forested areas and dumping mud and debris on houses on the remote Serasan island. Bits of metal from torn-off roofs and fallen trees were also visible following the disaster on Monday. The location of the landslide and continued rain were complicating search and rescue efforts, the BNPB said on Twitter. Communications had also been cut off, it said. The Natuna Search and Rescue Agency's head, Abdul Rahman, told the AFP news agency that 15 people had been confirmed dead and 50 were missing.

Angry moose attacks family on snowmobiles in Idaho Signs of the Times

An Idaho family was lucky to escape an attack by an angry moose while they were out on their snowmobiles in the Palisades, east of Idaho Falls. Jeremiah Bigelow posted the incident on his Instagram account, describing how the moose came between him and his brother, who was ahead of him, on the trail they were riding. The moose initially charged Jeremiah, who had his son and other friends behind him. Jeremiah quickly put his snowmobile in reverse but got stuck as his son's snowmobile did not have a reverse gear. Jeremiah's brother realized that Jeremiah was stuck and tried to draw the moose's attention away from the group, thinking he could quickly speed away. But right as he jumps back on the snowmobile, it dies, and he is forced to dive to his safety, narrowly avoiding the charging moose.

The former president congratulated Tucker Carlson for what he called one of the biggest journalistic "scoops" in US history. Most of those who made their way into the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 are "totally innocent," former US President Donald Trump has insisted after Fox News host Tucker Carlson published new footage of the events. Carlson had earlier been granted access by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to more than 40,000 hours of security video records from the Capitol on the day of the riots. On Monday, the Fox News host shared some of those clips on his program, showing Trump's supporters behaving peacefully inside the US Congress in Washington, DC.

Netanyahu slams IAEA chief for saying attacks on nuclear facilities are 'outlawed' Signs of the Times

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday slammed International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi for saying attacks on nuclear facilities are "outlawed." Israel has a history of launching covert attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities, and Netanyahu has been threatening to take more overt action. US officials have also said President Biden will keep a military option on the table to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon even though the Pentagon and CIA recently acknowledged Tehran is not seeking a bomb. Grossi just returned from a visit to Iran, where he secured a pledge for the IAEA to receive more access to Iranian nuclear facilities. When asked about the US and Israeli threats, Grossi said that "any military attack on a nuclear facility is outlawed, is out of the normative structures that we all abide by."

Biden's "great economic recovery" narrative is built on deception Signs of the Times

This past month a poll held by ABC and the Washington Post with a 37 year history asked Americans if they were better or worse off in the two years since Biden entered the White House. If you were to ask Biden this question, you would be regaled with a flurry of great news about a fantastic economic recovery, epic jobs numbers, falling inflation and a dropping deficit. When you ask actual average citizens, you get a much different reply. According to the ABC/Post poll, Americans say they are worse off than they have ever been, with the most negative data in the history of the survey. Over 40% of respondents indicated their financial situation was worse under Biden. Only 16% of people said they were better off. Not only that, but 60% of Democrats polled said they did NOT want Joe Biden as their candidate in 2024, and 62% of all people polled said they would be disappointed or even angry if Biden remained in the White House for a second term. This is astounding. How does one...

They are Many Reputable Debt Relief Companies

Source: credello.com

So, are debt relief programs legit? Well, many organizations can get you out of debt. Generally, the debt relief company will put up an account where you will need to deposit a specified amount of money for some time. They will recommend that you stop making your routine payments as they negotiate to speed up the settlement process. The hack is to convince creditors that you cannot clear the entire loan amount. Covid-19 mRNA vaccines were designed as abortion drugs to quietly and deceitfully sterilize vast swathes of the human race, according to a Gates Foundation insider who has admitted that Bill Gates vaccine trials in Africa and India, in which thousands of children were sterilized, were trial runs for the mRNA vaccine roll-out in the Western world.

Many people are still refusing to see the globalist elite for what they really are. They want to believe Bill Gates is a philanthropist and if he accidentally sterilized half of Western Africa and India, then it must have been an accident. They want to believe the World Economic Forum are committed to improving the state of the world.

Idiocracy by design Terra Forming Terra

This is not possible unless it is planned and deliberately acted upon.  And where else than Chicago et all.

It is my belief that the only way anyone should be allowed into university is by successfully clearing the full STEM agenda and solid literacy in English in particular.  Everything else handily comes under trade school classification and that even includes most forms of computer programming.

We have the tools today for anyone to polish their writing skills to a high level.  And reading skills come with reading

Obvious this cuts the whole university MEME down to size and true research schools do fine as well.

The current regime is supposed to educate folks, but it is done with a cherry picked supply of texts.  How is this supposed to educate?  You are the one who educates himself and this is hardly encouraged.  In fact, the best that can be said is that the best thinkers get drunk and skip classes.

The bill that would give Americans a four-day workweek Terra Forming Terra

It has certainly become timely to discuss a sensible work week regulation system.  It really needs to be about optimizing outputs.  We have in each week exactly 168 hours or 42 four hour shifts.  Not a bad way to look at it.  I also think that the four hour shift should be the prime unit.  I have already posted that our so called minimum wage needs to be set around a guaranteed four hour base shift that pays base costs.

Clearly we still have with this either five days of two four hour shifts or alternately four days of two four hour shifts and perhaps thgree days of three four hour shifts.  Plenty of flexibility and overtime can be in two hour addons.

The key goal should be four days on and three days off to fully recharge.  To this end we can have two three shift days in there.

The big payoff is that four on will fully drain your energy while three off will also fully recharge your energy.  Also a mandatory break period allows mind resting between shifts if planned peroperly.  This can be really important for all mind work because hte brain actually needs a short term recharge.  And no alcohol in particular unless you want to wreak yourself.

This is driven first by our biology and do understand any rules fighting it will smiply be gamed.  We have long since understood that letting workers run at their own pace is best and letting them keep up with each other while rewarding group performance alone.

Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif., is reintroducing a bill to put Americans on a four-day work week, capitalizing on a spate of recent news about the concept.

Why childcare shouldnt be a job-linked benefit Fast Company

The more that Americans come to believe that childcare is to be individually acquired through ones employer, the less reason to create a system everyone can access.

Last week, the Biden administration took the unusual step of connecting industrial policy with childcare policy. In order to qualify for large sums available through the CHIPS Act, semiconductor manufacturers must explain how they are going to guarantee affordable childcare for their employees. This is a dangerous wrong turn, not because companies shouldnt be expected to meet the needs of their workforce but because childcare should never be a job-linked benefit.

Carnivores attacks on humans are becoming more common Terra Forming Terra

We have always had a problem with carnivores and it is only in the past two centuries that we have realy suppressed their numbers.  Unfortunately they are now recovering, mostly because their food supply has also recovered.

The big problem is that we need to fully integrate our animal husbandry with our agriculture.  Venison, wild turkeys and Wild pigs in particular need to be handled everywhere.

Then we have carnivores who are all opportunistic hunters. Coyotes and cougars are a real danger to children who need to be trained and always paired with a dog if doing walk about.  Wolves are dangerous to anyone when they are hungry.  Do not run alone in the winter.

That should keep you safe.  To do better, study the animals habits.

It is still eary days and we need to do more to scare them as well.  .

Carnivores attacks on humans are becoming more common, and climate change isnt helping

Rising population has led to increased human encroachment on natural habitats, but climate change is also pushing some animals closer to population centers, experts say.

Violence broke out in Atlanta on Sunday after protesters of a planned police training facility hurled bricks and Molotov cocktails at officers and set cars on fire.

From Peep Shows to Webcams: A Brief History of the Adult Entertainment Industry The Event Chronicle

The adult entertainment industry has come a long way from the days of peep shows to the age of webcams. Jasmine Live is just one example of how technology has revolutionized the industry, but before we dive into that, lets take a brief look at the history of adult entertainment.

The earliest form of adult entertainment can be traced back to ancient civilizations like Greece and Rome, where erotic art and literature were common. However, the modern era of adult entertainment began in the early 20th century with the rise of peep shows.

Source: reddit.com

Peep shows were small booths where customers could insert coins and watch a performer behind a glass screen. These shows were popular in the red-light districts of major cities and were often associated with prostitution. However, with the advent of motion pictures in the 1920s, the adult entertainment industry began to take on a new form.

The first adult film, A Free Ride, was released in 1915, but it wasnt until the 1970s that the industry really took off. This was the era of porno chic, a time when adult films were shown in mainstream theaters and even received critical acclaim. However, the 1980s brought a crackdown on the industry, with the government enforcing stricter regulations and the advent of the VHS tape making it easier for people to watch adult films in the privacy of their own homes.

But the real game-changer for the adult entertainment industry came with the internet. In the 1990s, adult websites began to pop up, offering everything from photos to videos to live webcam shows. And this is where Jasmine Live comes in.

Jasmine Live is a popular webcam site that launched in 2002. It allows performers to broadcast live shows to viewers around the world, with the option for viewers to interact with the performers via text chat. This technology has completely transformed the adult entertainment i...

Is the US Following Ancient Athens? Armstrong Economics

COMMENT: Marty,

Zelinsky has tried to portray himself as a military leader, cloaked in the symbolism of a military strongman. Gaddafi, Hussein, Stalin, and even Hitler come to mind. All were seen as ardent nationalists. Zelinsky did this to attract enormous weapons and capital to this country, ensuring that his face becomes the symbol of the military leader.

In truth, Zelinsky is a figurehead whose survival depends on outside assistance. Ukraine continues to bleed out citizens, while its military gets eviscerated. Even with the weapons provided by the West, Ukraines military was never of the caliber of Russias. A Heroic figure he is not.

The West probably bet the sanctions and outside pressures would force Putin to withdraw. No one counted on Putin to stand his ground. Putins determination to crush Zelinsky means his tenure is linked with his war record and battlefield performance.  Panic is now setting in. Zelinsky is as much a puppet regime as we saw in South Vietnam. It lacks broad support and like the one in Saigon, Kiev will collapse sooner or later from outside pressure.

Once collapse happens, military defeat means political defeat. Therefore, the West is panicked to raise the stakes and step in to bolster a puppet regime. The US entered Vietnam slowly, then suddenly. It now appears NATO is following this same process, first indirectly, now perhaps directly. They have turned Ukraines future into some kind of existential life-or-death battle. For NATO, that is certainly the case. Having squandered untold billions, their military readiness is now on the line.

Kennedy tried to block the expansion of the US presence in Vietnam and was assassinated for it. Johnson enthusiastically took over and then realized his generals, Westmoreland to be precise, had no real plan. Johnson lost by blindly following the military. Trump tried to keep the US out of wars and was ousted by a fraudulent election. Biden enthusiastically took over echoing Johnson. As with Vietnam, an unpopular regime with no support, Ukraine...

Colonel Douglas MacGregor & Sources Armstrong Economics

COMMENT #1:  I have been watching Colonel Douglas MacGregor (ret), on alt news sites. He is a former tank commander in the Gulf war and has worked extensively with NATO, before retiring. I love his direct commentary so in a nutshell he says the following:
1. Ukraine has lost up to 250k troops and they are in dire straits. They will lose the war badly.
2. The US military is in dire straits too and if push, comes to shove, could only provide 50k troops within weeks. They are down on ammunition (all gone to Ukraine) and the recruitment targets for all 4 branches are lower than what the DoD is telling us.
3. The European military is not ready at all and would be ineffective.
4. Which leads to him saying that the USA/NATO will not enter the war, because sane heads in the military will not allow it. I hope he is right, but he does not rule out false flags or Bidens ineptitude.
You should watch him, hes great, a man with genuine battle experience and knows the political machinations of DC, yet strongly anti war.

NC

COMMENT #2: Colonel Douglas MacGregor has often come out and confirmed what you have said weeks or months before. It looks like he has similar sources. He went to West Point. Did they also teach your War Model as did the Citadel? A lot of generals graduated from the Citadel.

Keep up the great work

HB

REPLY: Perhaps we both have similar contacts. As far as West Point, I do not know if they ever taught our models. What I do know, is that there is a serious risk that Uktaine loses and all the fake news that keeps putting out the propaganda has not considered what happens if Ukraine loses.

US is Losing Another War Ukraine Armstrong Economics

The United States has launched a proxy war, unconstitutionally, circumventing Congress and the American people no less the entire world. What must be understood, is that the Biden Administration, the puppet of the Neocons led now by Victoria Nuland, has brought the entire world to the brink of World War III and they have now begun the countdown to the decline and fall of Western Civilization
Who is Victoria Nuland and why has she the queen of the Neocons? Victoria Nuland has been one of the leading Neocons always advocating war with Russia. She is behind the propaganda that Russia is on the verge of defeat and that the Russian army is really dysfunctional. This is standard propaganda. They put out the same exact line about the troops in Iraq. This is to convince Americans that they can wage war and it will be over in just a few hours or days. This is the typical Neocon sales pitch to justify their endless thirst for war. They are trying to provide justification to rush in for an easy defeat of their target.
Besides the Neocons treason against the Constitution always manipulating proxy wars without the consent of Congress in violation of Section I, Article 8, there is also one huge very serious undisclosed conflict of interest and the Biden Administration should immediately fire Victoria Nuland and all her supporters within the Biden Administration to save the world and our nation.

Reid Hoffman and his cofounders were seeking funding in an era when eBay was hot and Friendster was better known than TheFacebook.

For our new oral history of LinkedIn, we talked to dozens of people and pieced together a detailed story of how the business-centric social network rose from a mere idea in 2003 to the indispensible global platform it is today. But even at 6,000-plus words, our account couldnt cover the whole tale from every angle. A whole chapter could be written about August 2004, for instance, when LinkedIn was a promising but not particularly well-known startup nearing the million-member mark and looking to secure funding. Thankfully, Hoffman captured it himself by writing a blog post about it when the company turned 10 in 2013, including the pitch deck that he had used to seek Series B funding from investors.

Cost of living: Grocery inflation hits new record high of 17.1%, data shows Signs of the Times

UK grocery inflation continued to climb during February to reach a new record high of 17.1%, according to closely-watched industry data. Kantar Worldpanel reported that the increase over the past 12 months meant that families faced a potential 811 annual rise in the cost of their regular shopping basket. It had been hoped that a decline in the pace of grocery prices during December would mark a turning point in that element of the cost of living crisis. But Kantar later revealed that temporary Christmas discounting had been largely responsible, as the big four chains fight to maintain market share amid the challenge posed by discounters and other cheaper rivals.

The Havana Syndrome Case Cracked Dissident Voice

Even before the attack on the homeland of the weather balloons,
the Havana Syndrome tested Americas mettle.

The Havana Syndrome was first reported in Cuba in 2016. The mysterious malady initially afflicted US embassy staff in Havana, especially those attached to intelligence missions. It then spread to Canadian embassy officials. The sudden headaches, debilitating dizziness, and hearing excruciatingly painful sounds struck both at work and at home. Oddly, the Cubans themselves appeared immune to the pathology.

Soon other cases of what the US Defense Department called anomalous health incidents (AHIs) were reported in Russia, China, Colombia, Uzbekistan, and then even in the US. This mass psychogenic illness was experienced mostly by US government spies, diplomats, and military personnel all over the world, according to Wikipedia. A government-wide response was precipitated with support groups established.

The US State Department announced that it considered attention to the Havana Syndrome an absolute priority. Secretary of State Antony Blinken...

Just under one in eight of all households in England were found to be fuel-poor in 2022. Now in 2023 the true impact of the energy crisis over the past 12 months has been revealed with the release of shocking new statistics. Express.co.uk has analysed the harrowing picture of fuel poverty in England. Britons paid more in household energy bills in 2022 than any other year in history, with the ensuing cost-of-living crisis stretching budgets to and beyond breaking point for many. After four consecutive rises since February 2021, the state energy regulator Ofgem had the price cap set at 4,279 by the end of the year - over triple the average annual bill just three years earlier. On Monday, Ofgem announced that from April 1, the price cap would fall by almost 1,000 to 3,280 -but with a 500 increase to the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) scheduled at the same time, the pain of the last year is likely to endure for many throughout 2023.

Polish deputy minister calls EU's approval of insects a 'food war' Signs of the Times

A Polish deputy agriculture minister has criticised the EU's recent approval of two types of insects for use in food products, saying there was a campaign to overturn the "dietary values of the West". Comment: The West's dietary guidelines are fairly skewed already - favoring detrimental carbohydrates over optimal animal products - but this propaganda push for insects is another level of sinister. In January, the EU approved house crickets and the larvae of lesser mealworms for human consumption in powder and other dried forms as part of a drive to limit the impact animal farming has on the environment. Insects, which are a popular food choice in many parts of the world, are rich in protein and require much less land and water than meat to produce.

Laughable: Paranoid US suspects Chinese-made cranes are 'Trojan Horses' used to gather intelligence Signs of the Times

The Pentagon sees giant Chinese-made cranes operating at US ports, including several shipping hubs used by the military, as a potential "Trojan horse" that China could use to gather intelligence on materiel being moved in and out of the country, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. Fresh from the Chinese "spy balloon" debacle, unnamed "national-security and Pentagon officials" have reportedly turned their attention to yet another alleged espionage tool. While the newspaper did not indicate whether there have been any actual cases of a crane being used for spying, it cited former US counterintelligence official Bill Evanina expressing concerns that it could provide remote access to disrupt the flow of goods. Lockdown Files: Matt Hancock rejected advice to cut Covid isolation as it would 'imply we've been wrong' Signs of the Times

Matt Hancock rejected advice from England's Chief Medical Officer to replace the 14-day Covid quarantine with five days of testing because it would "imply we've been getting it wrong". Mr Hancock was told by Prof Sir Chris Whitty in November 2020 that it would be "pretty well as good" for contacts of positive Covid cases to test for five days "in lieu" of a fortnight's isolation. WhatsApp messages between the two have also revealed that the 14-day quarantine period was likely to have been "too long all along". By then, nearly a million people in England who had come into contact with an infected person had been told to self-isolate for a full fortnight, even if they had no symptoms. Although ministers reduced the self-isolation period to 10 days in December 2020, it was not until the following August that some groups were made entirely exempt from the requirement. In November 2020, Sir Chris and other government advisers were "in favour" of trialling the alternative system. But Mr...

Chris Hedges: Lynching the Deplorables MintPress News

The criminal investigation undertaken by the federal government against hundreds of participants in the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol is polarizing the country and shredding civil liberties.

There is little that unites me with those who occupied the Capitol building on Jan. 6. Their vision for America, Christian nationalism, white supremacy, blind support for Trump and embrace of reactionary fact-free conspiracy theories leaves a very wide chasm between their beliefs and mine. But that does not mean I support the judicial lynching against many of those who participated in the Jan. 6 events, a lynching that is mandating years in pretrial detention and prison for misdemeanors. Once rights become privileges, none of us are safe.

The U.S. legal system has a very sordid history. It was used to enforce segregation and legitimize the reign of terror against Black people. It was the hammer that broke the back of militant union movements. It persecuted radicals and reformers in the name of anti-communism. After 9/11, it relentlessly went after Muslim leaders and activists with Special Administrative Measures (SAMs). SAMs, established by the Clinton administration, originally only applied to people who ordered murders from prison or were convicted of mass murder, but are now used to isolate all manner of detainees before and during trial. They severely restrict a prisoners communication with the outside world; prohibiting calls, letters and visits with anyone except attorneys and sharply limit contact with family members. The solitary confinement like conditions associated with SAMs undermine any meaningful right to a fair trial according to analysis by groups like the Center for Constitutional Rights and can amount to torture according to the United Nations. Julian Assange faces SAMs or similar conditions should he be extradited to the U.S. The Classified Information Procedures Act, or CIPA, begun under the Reagan administration, also allows evidence in a trial to be classified and withheld from defendants. The courts, throughout American history, have abjectly ser...

EU's solutions for Ukraine don't work - member state Signs of the Times

The first step in bringing peace to Ukraine should be to stop people from being killed and establish a ceasefire as soon as possible, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Sunday, during an interview with Sweden's SVT. The diplomat dismissed the idea of supplying Ukraine with weapons, currently being done by a number of NATO countries, as a viable method to achieve peace. Asked why Hungary refuses to send weapons to Kiev, Szijjarto pointed to the devastating consequences of the war, and how Western arms have only exacerbated the conflict. "Look at the infrastructure, look at the people, look at the number of people leaving the country, look at their former houses, look at the damage, the energy infrastructure. This country is being demolished, destroyed. I don't think that would be of interest to anyone," he said. Szijjarto stated that Hungary, as opposed to other European countries, sees the first priority in the Ukrainian conflict as being to "stop killing people,"...

"The introduction of independent settlement mechanisms is being successfully carried out, which will help protect cooperation with Cuba from the negative impact of the US trade, economic and financial blockade, as well as establish ties bypassing the financial organizations of unfriendly states," the Russian diplomat said. In January, the chairman of the Russia-Cuba Business Council, Boris Titov, said that in order to mitigate the effect of Western sanctions, the countries are considering new mechanisms for mutual settlements, including in ruble and cryptocurrencies, as well as clearing schemes.

Time is Always Fixed Crude is the Example Armstrong Economics

QUESTION: Thank you for the interesting update on Crude & Natural Gas previously. Since Feb was a Directional Change and March is a turning point, then the choppy with no breakout. Since electric car demand has peaked, the Fed seems determined to get inflation down to 2% if it kills the world economy. Then the decline in supply is not having the expected rise in prices as one would expect. Can you explain this paradox?

Thank you

JV

ANSWER: Yes the Directional Change in Crude for February warned that we would bounce rather than decline. There was a slight possibility of an early low in March and a swing up perhaps on geopolitical news. But that has not played out.

It appears that Ukraine is losing so there may be a bigger question of how the United States handles yet another loss Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq where removing Saddam led to religious wars. Note that the Fed began raising rates as soon as Russia invaded to protect the Donbas. Despite claiming it was for inflation, the Fed knows too well that inflation rises with war. They acted when Russia made its move understanding that this proxy war would accelerate inflation.

Market Talk March 6, 2023 Armstrong Economics

ASIA:

Retail sales of vehicles in India jumped 16% to around 1.8 million units in February, helped in part by strong demand during the wedding season, an industry body of automobile dealers said on Monday, adding that festivals could push the sales higher in March. Sales have picked up in the last two months as chip shortages eased and automakers launched new models to tap into the demand ahead of the festival and wedding seasons. However, rising interest rates amid elevated inflation are seen as a sentiment dampener, with overall sales in February still below pre-Covid levels. Sales of two-wheelers advanced 15%, while those of three-wheelers jumped 81%, passenger vehicles 11%, tractors 14%, and commercial vehicles 17%, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said in a statement. Auto sales numbers are keenly watched, as they are one of the key indicators to assess private consumption and carry more than 50% weightage in calculating the countrys economic growth.

Meet the British intelligence-linked firm that warped MH17 news coverage Signs of the Times

Staffed by British special forces veterans, Pilgrims' Group quietly shaped international coverage of the MH17 disaster as it shepherded journalists to and from the crash site. In November of 2022, a final judgment arrived in the trial of alleged perpetrators of the attack on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17). Russian nationals Igor Girkin and Sergey Dubinskiy, and Donbas separatist Leonid Kharchenko, were convicted in absentia for the murder of MH17's 283 passengers and 15 crew members. They were ruled to have arranged the transfer of the Buk surface-to-air missile system that reportedly struck the plane. Oleg Pulatov, the only defendant to seek legal representation during the trial, was conversely acquitted on all charges, which prosecutors will not appeal. The Malaysian airliner had been purportedly shot down by a missile on July 17th 2014, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew aboard. Heavily dependent on information supplied by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and the...

West created 'Nazi paradise' in Ukraine to fight Russians - Dugan Signs of the Times

Kiev's backers, however, ultimately don't believe it will win, the political philosopher said... The West has fostered the creeping "nazification" of Ukraine in order to make its people hostile to Russia, political philosopher and author Aleksandr Dugin has told RT. In an exclusive interview aired on Saturday, he said that Kiev's backers have tried to hide from their own citizens the growing tolerance of nationalists and neo-Nazis in the country. Dugin said: "The West thinks in such a manner: We could not create artificial nationalism in Ukraine and push Ukrainians to fight Russians [any other way]. For a traditional society, liberal values cannot be the goal to defend. So they need something [else]. The most radical [tool] to create and promote this artificial pseudo-consciousness is nationalism ... or Ukrainian Russophobic fascism. And it is being used by the [globalist] liberals. They destroy any kind of nationalism on their [own] territories. But in Ukraine, on the other hand,...

Emperor has no clothes: Chinese media mocks US push to project itself as Asia hegemon Signs of the Times

In a television appearance this week, US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns assured that America's position in Asia is "stronger" today "than it was five or ten years ago," and that Beijing will simply have to accept that Washington "is staying in this region" and is "the leader in this region in many ways." Chinese media has brushed off the US ambassador's "powerless and ridiculous" claims that the US is still the undisputed leader in Asia and that China will just have to deal with it. The Global Times' wrote an editorial response to Burns' "leadership" comments: "What the US politician said implies two messages. First, he seems to criticize China for not understanding US' presence in the Asia-Pacific. Second, Burns wants Beijing to acknowledge Washington's leadership in the region. Yet, both are far from the truth." The outlet explained that Washington's "strategic miscalculation" has always been to believe that China would like to push the US out of Asia. The reality, GT...

US to ban investment in Chinese high tech - WSJ Signs of the Times

Washington plans to prohibit American investment in the high-tech sectors of rival economies, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing sources and reports on the proposed regulation from the US Treasury and Commerce Department. The restrictions will likely target private and venture capital investments in the production of semiconductors, artificial intelligence and quantum computing, and will mostly be aimed against China, sources close to the discussions about the new regulations told the news outlet. The WSJ notes, however, that the reports do not name specific countries that will be affected by the measures nor the economic sectors seen as posing a risk to US national security. However, the outlet notes that the focus will be on sectors that could increase the military capabilities of US rivals. The Treasury report, for instance, said: "The new foreign investment rules will focus on preventing US capital and expertise from being exploited in ways that threaten our...

The 7.2% increase is the sharpest surge in China's defense spending since 2019. It follows a 6.8% uptick in 2021 and 6.6% in 2020. In 2019, Asia's leading military power oversaw a 7.5% increase in its defense budget to 1.19 trillion yuan - around $172 billion. Kari Lake files petition for review for historic election lawsuit in the Arizona Supreme Court Signs of the Times

Kari Lake filed new paperwork and 779 pages of evidence in the Arizona Supreme Court today, appealing the lower courts' decisions to dismiss her lawsuit contesting the rigged 2022 Election. Lake also filed a 'Motion To Expedite' her case, arguing that "expeditious action to resolve these issues is needed to safeguard Arizona voters' right to free and equal elections." The Maricopa County Superior Court and Arizona Court of appeals disregarded the evidence, "ignored this Court's precedents for reviewing election contests and ratified Maricopa officials' decision to ignore Arizona's ballot chain-of-custody ("COC") and logic and accuracy testing ("L&A testing") requirements set forth in Arizona's Election Procedures Manual ("EPM"), and A.R.S. 16-621(E), 16-449, 16-452(C)," argues Lake's attorneys in their 'Petition for Review.'

Chinese cars filling void left by Western brands in Russia Signs of the Times

Chinese car brands have embarked on a major expansion in Russia amid the exodus of European, American, and Japanese brands, Bloomberg reported on Thursday. In 2022, Chinese automakers Geely, Chery, and Great Wall Motors took a 17% share of Russia's car market, filling the void left by the world's largest automobile manufacturers, such as Volkswagen, Nissan, Renault, and Toyota, which pulled out of the country last year. Economic sanctions and political pressure made it difficult for many automakers to continue operations in Russia last year. In particular, logistical disruptions arose once imports of cars and spare parts to the country were stopped.

Thousands of UK pubs could go bust due to soaring energy costs - industry body Signs of the Times

Britain's hospitality sector could lose thousands of jobs amid soaring energy costs, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) has warned, as it called on the government to extend a lifeline for the industry. According to a BBPA report on Wednesday, citing data from Oxford Economics, a further 2,000 pubs are at risk of closure, threatening 25,000 jobs. The research suggested that on-trade beer sales will decline by 9% in 2023-2024, which equates to 1 million fewer barrels of beer sold, or 288 million pints. "The BBPA is calling on the government to use the Spring Budget to show it understands just how much pubs and breweries mean to their communities, and the pressures the sector is facing, and deliver a plan for sustainable growth with fair, modernized tax rates and a focus on skills and training needed to ensure pubs and breweries can thrive," the association stated.

The walkout follows protests in Athens, Thessaloniki and the city of Larissa, near the site of the disaster. Rescue workers are still going through burned and buckled carriages there, searching for victims.

There is Something to Intergenerational Capitalist Trauma Dissident Voice

My colleague Rachel Yehuda studied rates of PTSD in adult New Yorkers who had been assaulted or rapes. Those whose mothers were Holocaust survivors with PTSD had a significantly higher rate of developing serious psychological problems after these traumatic experiences. The most reasonable explanation is that their upbringing had left them with a vulnerable physiology, making it difficult for them to regain their equilibrium after being violated. Yehuda found a similar vulnerability in the children of pregnant women who were in the World Trade Center that fatal day in 2001. Similarly, the reactions of children to painful events are largely determined by how calm or stressed their parents are.
Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma

Oh, I know I sometimes blithely say, Violence is in the DNA of Americans. Or, I say, Americans are colonized, in constant fear, flight, freeze mode because of their intergenerational trauma put upon so many millions here and tens of millions outside the border of U$A. Or, yep, Collective Stockholm syndrome brought upon the masses through Disneyfication, McDonaldization and Infantalization. I am serious, though, about epigenetic trauma, and if a child witnessing pain, hate, parents shooting up, violently attack each other, poverty, drug use, all of that stuff, well, the DNA is in fact changed for the babe, the juvenile, as all those stress hormones there are dozens and hundreds in concert with all sorts of other bodily functions tied to the gut and brain and cortisol interplay they morph child into hyper-vigilant and hyper-reactive and possibly hyper-mentally disjointed teens And then what happens to them in adulthood?

You have to wonder what is in the water, meat, air, soil, Cheetos when we see this in Greece but nothing of the sort in Palestine, Ohio. I am looking at how collectively traumatized Americans are, in so many ways, from education, TV, militaristic leaders, lynchings, the entire reservation and internment and hateful Gilded media Class shitting on us. Two trains, two countries, two derailments, two different collective responses.

Roman era sphinx uncovered at Dendera temple complex Signs of the Times

AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL MISSION FROM THE AIN SHAMS UNIVERSITY HAS UNCOVERED A ROMAN ERA SPHINX DURING EXCAVATIONS AT THE DENDERA TEMPLE COMPLEX, LOCATED IN THE QENA GOVERNORATE OF EGYPT. The Temple of Dendera is a large ceremonial complex covering an area of 9.8 acres. The complex is centred on the Hathor Temple, a sanctuary which has been modified on the same site since the Middle Kingdom until the time of the Roman Emperor Trajan. Recent excavations led by Dr Mamdouh El Damaty, a former antiquities minister and a professor of archaeology at Cairo's Ain Shams University, revealed a Roman structure in an area east of the main complex where a temple dedicated to Horus is located. The structure is built using limestone and mortar, consisting of two levels. The lower level contains a large basin for collecting water from the Byzantine period, where the researchers found a Roman era sphinx statue.

Peru and the Peoples Defenses Dissident Voice

Following the January mobilization to protest the removal from office of Perus Indigenous President Pedro Castillo, unofficial reports indicate continuing resistance to the Dina Boluarte assumed Presidency.

The Boluarte government is backed by an extreme right Parliament and the countrys military. As well as the U.S. and Canada alone among countries of the Americas. It represents the multinational corporate resource stripping interests (in Peru this includes Chinas copper mining and U.S. gold mining) of an elite. The Boluarte government has murdered over sixty protesters, placed roadblocks throughout the country and regions under emergency law. Castillo is in prison without habeas corpus or trial. Large protests fueled by Indigenous groups from the countryside have gathered repeatedly in Lima and other cities. Demands of the people are largely ignored. The basic problem is that Parliament has consistently fought elected President Pedro Castillos attempts to nationalize portions of the countrys resources and protect the environment itself from destruction by corporate resource interests.

Boluartes attempts to increase government control of the press and her willingness to use the military and martial law against nonviolent protest, are normalized by the authorities and international press. Trade unions have backed the protests. 80% percent of the people are now said to be against the Boluarte government. While the protest movement has remained clearly nonviolent, its protesters are labeled terrorists; resistance is increasingly cast as moving toward a civil war. As financial news assures us roads to the mines are opening again, a genocide warning continues.

Meanwhile Democracy Now ! reports that in Guatemala the Indigenous movements candidates for Presidency, Thelma Cabrera and running mate Jordn  Rojas, have been barred from running. The likely winner of the election will be Zury Ros, daughter of Ros Montt, former dictator convicted of genocide against Indigenous villagers. His conviction was overturned by a court of the privileged.

Yet another leak reveals that Covid policies owe less to creepy conspiratorial globalists, than they do to the unbounded stupidity of our leaders, boring institutional dynamics and feedback effects Signs of the Times

Isabel Oakeshott is a journalist and critic of pandemic containment policies who was unaccountably hired by disgraced former UK health minister Matt Hancock to write the Pandemic Diaries: The Inside Story of Britain's Battle Against Covid. Hancock hoped that this exercise in autohagiography would rehabilitate his reputation after revelations of an extramarital affair forced him out of office. The joke, it turns out, is on him. Apparently, he gave Oakeshott an archive of over 100,000 WhatsApp messages to assist in her writing. She's now leaked that archive to the Telegraph, who are gleefully and selectively publishing them in an ongoing series they call The Lockdown Files. As with all selective leaks, there's reason to be cautious here: We don't have access to all of Hancock's communications or even the full WhatsApp archive, and the scattered and sensationalising Telegraph reporting - which emphasises Hancock's rude remarks and sniping at the expense of political content - inspires...

The Basics of Digital Asset Management and Its Benefits Everything You Need To Know 2023 The Event Chronicle

In recent years, businesses have increasingly relied on digital assets such as images, videos, and other multimedia files to drive their marketing efforts and overall operations. With the growing importance of digital media, it has become more challenging for companies to effectively manage and organize their digital assets.

Digital asset management (DAM) has emerged as a solution to this challenge. DAM involves the use of a centralized support management platform that allows businesses to manage, store, retrieve, and distribute their digital assets with ease. The aid management platform serves as a centralized repository where all digital assets are stored and made accessible to authorized users.

The asset management platform allows businesses to maintain a comprehensive record of their digital assets and provides a seamless workflow for managing and distributing them. With a support management platform in place, businesses can easily organize their virtual assets according to categories such as department, project, or campaign.

New scientific evidence suggests temperatures have been stable in Greenland for 60 years, save for a sudden 1C jump in 1994 Signs of the Times

Fascinating new scientific evidence has emerged showing stable temperatures in Greenland for at least 60 years, with just a sudden 1C jump around 1994. The recent findings from a group of environmental meteorologists will cast further doubt on the unproven hypothesis that humans have caused recent changes in the Arctic climate. In a highly detailed paper, the scientists show that the climate changes can be attributed to natural variation caused by two significant air currents. The scientists report a significant jump in Greenland's near-surface air temperatures (T2m) around 1994, with relatively stable temperature in the periods before (1958-93) and after (1994-2020). In a crucial finding, the scientists state: "Large scale atmospheric circulation variability can effectively explain this interdecadal variability of Greenland T2m." These are caused by the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and the Greenland Blocking Index (GBI). The NAO is caused by latitudinal differences in air...

EU Fails to Comply with Grain-Export Deal Dissident Voice

On Saturday, March 4, Russias Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at the G20 meeting in Delhi, announced that because the EU has refused to comply with its side of the U.N.-brokered 27 July 2022 Grain [and fertilizer] Deal that the U.N. brokered in Istanbul on 27 July 2022, Russia will likewise not comply with it, starting on March 18.

On February 8, Reuters had headlined Russia: EU not fulfilling promises on grain deal, and reported that the deal was in jeopardy because of the EUs continued violations of it that were supplying super-inexpensive food to the EU while continuing to block food going to Africa for which latter purpose the deal had been mainly designed.

Then, on Saturday March 4, Russias Tsargrad news site headlined The Rejection of the Grain Deal Will Force Russia to Resolve the Issue of Odessa. And This is a Significant Event. By implication, it was interpreting Lavrovs statement to reflect that Ukraines main Black Sea port of Odessa (which has historically been overwhelmingly pro-Russian), which is the port through which Ukraines agricultural exports are shipped, might soon be taken over by Russia because the EU is using it to provide economic benefits to the EU and to Ukraine while starving and/or soaring food-cost inflation in Africa, will no longer continue to be tolerated by Russia. In other words: Africa and Russia were being cheated by the EU and Ukraine, and Russia will cease that starting March 18.

On March 3, Tsargrad had bannered Ammonia Instead of Wheat. What Will Russia Gain by Breaking the Grain Deal, and it explained that:

The grain deal, about the need for which our Western partners spoke so much, can be terminated without any possibility of renewal in the near future. If this happens, then Ukraine will lose the opportunity to earn money on dumped wheat exports, Turkey will lose a fair amount of profits from participating in the transit of this grain and a fair amount of political influence as an intermediary between Russia and its opponents. The European Union will lose a significant part of the grain in its market the very one that it had promised the poorest African countries would be the deals primary beneficiaries, but which turned out to be much more necessary for EU bakers and confectioners, instead of gto Africans who need b...

All US Presidents are War Criminals Dissident Voice

This is a US war on Russia. Period.

We have to be very clear, even to the point of being blunt. By we I mean those of us involved who are conscious of being part of an Information Warthe propaganda war that we are recipients ofon the receiving end of this tsunami of crap. We have to say things flat without fear and without compromise. This is a US war on Russia. Period. Now why do we have to say this? Why should we say it so bluntly?

The propaganda matrix is so powerful that people, especially within the bubblethat is, within what people call NATOstan. This is the civilized world, 15% of the human population. The West. People are so confused and so propagandized that its almost as if they have no sense of pattern recognition, or have never read a chapter book. This is a war, a US war against Russia. Why? Because the US is NATO. What is NATO? NATO is a Horribles Parade costume, its a Halloween mask. Its just the USthe extension of the US military around the world by another name. Pure and simple.

Now when you find all of these things that theyre finding, all the material, all of the connections and the proof that NATO is much more involved than they claim. This is to say that the US is involved. This is the extension of the US. Again: why? Because the US is at war with everybody. The US is involved in its forever war against every*body* and every*thing.* Sometimes the mask slips and people see it. But they hide behind proxies, they hide behind local conflicts, they make it seems like they are doing something else. But they are involved.

Anglo-US Empire struggling to keep things as they are

The United States Empire, the inheritors of the UK Empireso the Anglo-US Empire is involved in a struggle to keep things as they are. They are in the very last throes the death throes I thinkof a 500-year history of slaughter and plunder that has kept all of the wealth in the world funneling upwards to them. And the question is not it can they do it, but rather why cant they see that its a completely impossible thing.

US to send $100 million in additional military aid to Ukraine

The US announced on 5 April that it would send up to $100 million in additional military aid to Ukraine.

This is a war against time, against history. Think of the unimaginable arrogance it takes to think that you can freeze time. Why are they going to fail? Because no Empire has succeeded in freezing time. Youre done! Its overleave the stage politely, with a gracious bow and support whats coming next. But no. New LPPFusion Paper: Our Peers Confirm We Lead in Results Terra Forming Terra

We have been tracking this initiative for several years now.  It is a constant reminder of just how difficult real progress is unti it finally gets locked down.

What is important is that it is naturally compact and scalable upwards while likely becoming easier.  We will likely be solving the same problems as well as it gets larger, rather than new novel ones.

The big systems will have to go the other way.  Good luck there.

The big hurdle will be bringing on the deuterium Boron cycle.  We need to see if that is really feasible.  With that we have our fuel and starship power plant.

The sinister cruelty of lockdown has been laid bare Signs of the Times

They were laughing at us. They didn't only lock us down. They didn't only suspend virtually every one of our civil liberties, including a right none of us ever expected to lose: the right to leave our own homes. They didn't only spy on us with drones, and encourage us to snitch on that neighbour going for a sneaky second jog, and fine teenagers life-ruining sums of money for holding house parties. They also chuckled about it. It was funny to them. In one of the most startling WhatsApp chats revealed in the Daily Telegraph's Lockdown Files, a senior civil servant says the following about Brits returning from trips abroad who were forced to quarantine in a stuffy hotel room for 10 days: 'Hilarious.' It was Simon Case, the UK's top mandarin. In February 2021 he had a breezy virtual chat with Matt Hancock, the then health secretary. A policy had just been introduced stipulating that any Briton returning from a 'red list' country - which eventually included 50 states around the world,...

The Return of the Bison Terra Forming Terra

A new post on Bison recovery.  We are slowly getting it right.  Here we learn that hte cow calf component must be kept separate from tge bulls.  This suggests that rotational grazing will work well.  That aso infers that we can double the stocking rate.

The big picture is full restoration of the great plains with managed herds including other animals including beef. It would be nice to also fold in other native game animals as well but we likely cannot work them.  Yet we may be surprised if we focus on cow calf pairs and letb them follow the feed.

I also see a huge future in Eurasia where early hunting drove them to extinction.  All of Eastern Europe to the Urals and beyond is prime.

The Return of the Bison

In the Great Plains, scientists and small farmers bring back a mythic beast and a lost ecosystem.

Theory-Breaking Galaxies Bury the Big Bang Hypothesis Terra Forming Terra

Cloud Cosmology infers that every galaxy can be best thought of as a separate creation with its own TIME independent of each other.  We do not know if there even exists a TIME for the universe of Galaxies at this point.

He is quite right though, the Big Bang is untenable now.  Considering what it originally drew from ,this is not surprising ,but really, until I came up with the SPACE TIME pendulum and Cloud Cosmology, we had nothing except those doubts.

It is good to know that our undertstanding of TIME is now local TIME for this galaxy.  I wonder just what effect this has on incoming photons from other gsalaxies?  This is likely a difficult problem and i am no longer in a rush to jump through a wormhole into another galaxy.

How to Turn a BAD Fruit Tree into an AWESOME One! Terra Forming Terra

What we need to do is go back to full growth fruit trees for our orchards.  This allows us to grow a long lived healthy stem that can be taken to a comfortable sawn board lenth when we want to remove the full tree.

This also allows a healthy base for multiple branhes right there and even selectrive coppicing.  And of course grafting selective fruit bearing stems supporting large productive boughs.

We are entering the age of robotic harvesting and growing on miniture root stalks will be counter productive.  As well, a robust stem also allows machine shaking .

Irish grandmother jailed for calling Ukrainians 'rapists and criminals' Signs of the Times

A homeless grandmother in Ireland has been sentenced to 16 weeks behind bars for entering a hotel housing Ukrainian refugees and shouting that they were "rapists and criminals." The woman had sought accommodation, but was told no rooms were available. Margaret Buttimer appeared before a district court in Bandon, County Cork on Thursday, where police told the judge that they were called to a disturbance at a hotel in the town in late January. They found Buttimer shouting in the reception area, recalling that "she wanted to know how many Ukrainian nationals were staying in this hotel, what was the cost to the Irish people, and saying 'these Ukrainians are rapists and criminals'," according to a report by the Irish Times. Police said that she refused to desist and leave the hotel, and they had "no option" but to arrest her.

BEST OF THE WEB: 'Project Fear' authors discussed when to 'deploy' new Covid variant Signs of the Times

Matt Hancock wanted to "deploy" a new Covid variant to "frighten the pants off" the public and ensure they complied with lockdown, leaked messages seen by The Telegraph have revealed. The Lockdown Files - more than 100,000 WhatsApp messages sent between ministers, officials and others - show how the Government used scare tactics to force compliance and push through lockdowns. In another message Simon Case, the Cabinet Secretary, said that "the fear/ guilt factor" was "vital" in "ramping up the messaging" during the third national lockdown in Jan 2021. The previous month, Matt Hancock, the then health secretary, appeared to suggest in one message that a new strain of Covid that had recently emerged would be helpful in preparing the ground for the looming lockdown, by scaring people into compliance. What happened to companies commitment to DEI? Fast Company

On the latest episode of The New Way We Work, we discuss what happens when companies cut their DEI departments to save money.

In 2020, companies worldwide spent about $7.5 billion on diversity, equity, and inclusion-related efforts, and that figure has grown every year since, with McKinsey projecting that it will double to $15.4 billion by 2026. Yet at many companies, progress to increase inclusion and diversity has been slow or nonexistent. Now, with news of layoffs across industries, there are signs that we may be poised to backslide. At Twitter, for example, the DEI team has reportedly been cut from about 30 to just 2 employees, and theres evidence that many other organizations have quietly trimmed the roles responsible for doing this work.

Can Congress Grant Immunity to Pfizer Armstrong Economics

Any immunity that Congress has pretended to give Pfizer, is highly questionable if it is not in violation of the Seventh Amendment stopping people from their right to claims against Pfizer et al.  Even looking at the PREP Act Immunity from Liability for COVID-19 Vaccinators, it cannot afford immunity for willful misconduct.  What we are dealing with is a statutory grant of immunity to Pfizer and others to create vaccines with immunity.

42 U.S. Code 300aa22,

No vaccine manufacturer shall be liable in a civil action for damages arising from a vaccine-related injury or death associated with the administration of a vaccine after October 1, 1988, if the injury or death resulted from side effects that were unavoidable even though the vaccine was properly prepared and was accompanied by proper directions and warnings.

The 7th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was intended to protect the right of every American citizen to a trial by a jury of his peers in a civil court case. The writers objective in drafting this amendment as an addition to the Bill of Rights was to ensure that the government would not eliminate the practice of trial by jury. The major concern here was that, if trials were decided solely by judges, the judges would, more often than not, side with the government. This would, in turn, give the government too much power. To explore this concept, consider the following 7th Amendment definition.

There was a federal appeals court that declined to grant an injunction against Indiana Universitys vaccine mandate after it was challenged in a lawsuit by students who said it violates their constitutional rights. That was a separate question from what I am raising here.  The Indiana case dealt with only the constitutionality of vaccination mandates. That did not address whether or not the vaccines were ever properly tested and were in fact causing harm.

We must se...

The Biden Administration is control the EU and Britain. They cannot independently expand the supply of arms to Ukraine, since the main decisions in this regard are still being made in Washington, as the former British Foreign Secretary William Hague has admitted. He too should be questioned with regard to the behind-the-curtain shenanigans to create World War III.

6 ways to spend less time writing emails Fast Company

Email can take up a massive amount of time. Americans spend about 172 minutes checking their personal emails, and around 149 minutes checking their work emails, per day on average. By reducing how long it takes you to write an email, you could open up hours of time every day. You could also potentially free yourself from the evening shift: that pesky post-dinner period where you do the task you couldnt complete earlier because your day was consumed with emails.

Iran and our rotten foreign policy debates Signs of the Times

Twenty years after the illegal invasion of Iraq, it is depressing that we are still debating the "merits" of criminal aggression against another Middle Eastern country. Dennis Ross just can't get enough saber-rattling against Iran: Instead, Blinken or President Joe Biden should announce that although the U.S. favors diplomacy for resolving the threat of the Iranian nuclear program, the Iranians continue to demonstrate that they don't; instead, their actions are drawing them closer and closer to a bomb, something that the U.S. has pledged to prevent, and Iran must understand that its actions jeopardize its entire nuclear infrastructure, including parts that could in theory be used for civilian energy purposes. Declaring this would signal that the U.S. is beginning to prepare the American public and the international community for possible military action against Iran's nuclear program. Ross has been banging the war drums against Iran for years, and his latest call for threatening an...

Fish Killing Mania Dissident Voice

The scene is unforgettable and unforgivable: an elected official, the deputy prime minister of Australia, cutting loose about a fish species introduced into the country by his ancestors, and demanding their annihilation. During the near-lunatic display by Barnaby Joyce, even his own colleagues betrayed embarrassment and alarm at the full-throated shrieks of carp, carp. With crazed eyes and crimson face, Joyce went on to assure fellow parliamentarians that viral weapons will be deployed against the common carp, otherwise known as Cyprinus carpio. The cannonade of ecological warfare had been announced, though preparations for the war had long been in progress.

In 2017, the Sydney Morning Herald ran a piece befitting the great terror pieces that fret and agitate at the unknown and unseen. Today no one really knows how many are in the rivers of our eastern states and particularly the Murray-Darling, but if you were to say 10 million, few aquatic scientists would contradict you.

Common carp Rostislav Stefanek/Shutterstock.com

The carp is inherently consumable, traditional in a number of cuisines, and central to a number of religious rites. But in Australia, the murderous kill comes before sound and sensible management, vengeful destruction before the understanding. As with every species introduced into the vulnerable space of Australian ecology, thuggish retribution for ones failings is a default position, the cover for human error and incompetence. Often, that retribution is of a colossal, industrial scale, marked by poisoning or viral delivery, connived in by the scientific and political establishment.

The language used to demonise the relevant species never strays far from hyperbole. Federal MP Gavin Pearce stated a few examples in a 2020...

Humans don't hibernate but they do need more sleep in winter, new study suggests Signs of the Times

Analysis of patients undergoing sleep studies finds that people get more REM sleep in the winter. Whether we're night owls or morning larks, our body clocks are set by the sun. Theoretically, changing day length and light exposure over the course of the year could affect the duration and quality of our sleep. But figuring out how this applies in practice is difficult. Although studies where people assess their own sleep have suggested an increase in sleep duration during winter, objective measures are needed to determine how exactly the seasons affect sleep. Scientists studying sleep difficulties have now published data in the journal Frontiers in Neuroscience that shows that, even in an urban population experiencing disrupted sleep, humans experience longer REM sleep in winter than summer and less deep sleep in autumn.

Biden's FAA Nominee Can't Answer a Single Question About Aviation CLG News

Biden's FAA Nominee Can't Answer a Single Question About Aviation | 3 March 2023 | Phil Washington, Joe Biden's nominee to serve as administrator of the FAA, continues to face questions about his qualifications to serve in the role, and his testimony before Congress isn't dispelling doubts about his ability to run America's civil aviation system... Washington's previous gigs have also seen accusations of wasteful spending and mismanagement of resources, as Townhall reported previously. And, while he served honorably in the military, lawmakers pointed out that Washington has no experience or qualifications related to aviation safety. That was abundantly clear this week as Washington testified before the Senate Commerce Committee when Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) asked Biden's FAA nominee questions that an FAA administrator would need to know. Not only did Washington fail to impress senators with his answers, he had no answers. In fact, it was absolutely brutal.

CT lawmakers propose extending Medicaid to illegal migrants up to age 26 | 15 Feb 2023 | The General Assembly in 2021 approved an expansion of Medicaid, known as HUSKY in Connecticut, to children 8 and younger without permanent legal status... Now, lawmakers want to expand the program again. They have proposed extending Medicaid to people 20 and younger regardless of immigration status starting in January 2024, and then to those 25 and younger beginning in June 2024... Not everyone was supportive of the measure. Linda Dalessio, an advanced practice registered nurse, called the proposal a "slap in the face to every working American who is struggling to pay bills." "Health care is in crisis," she wrote to legislators. "We cannot even take care of American citizens, yet you are proposing to allow illegal migrants who broke our laws to come to the United States to receive benefits that most non-insured and under-insured American citizens do not have." Gui Woolsten, director of Medicaid for the state's social services department, said officials estimate the cost of expanding the program to be $15 million, an amount not included in Gov. Ned Lamont's (D) budget proposal.

The Number One Relationship Killer, According to Researchers Who Studied Couples for 50 Years Awareness Act

There are a lot of dysfunctional habits that will destroy your relationship, however, after decades of research, Dr. John Gottman has found one major contributor. The even crazier thing is this likely is not what you had imagined.

If I asked you what the number one relationship killer was, what would you say? Most people would say things like infidelity, a lack of sex, a lack of quality time, and maybe even a lack of trust. However, none of those are the right answers. Gottman, after carrying out a multitude of studies on over 40,000 couples, says contempt is the number one relationship killer.

Gottman also says it is worth considering a total of four problematic types of relationship communication:

1. Contempt.
2. Criticism.
3. Defensiveness.
4. Stonewalling.

Contempt, Gottman says, is the number one predictor of divorce or separation. Contempt is much like hatred. It is a form of communication and a state of mind that can leave your partner feeling unloved and unwanted.

One example of this is lets say that one spouse is trying to talk with someone, but every time they say something, their partner has something underhanded or hateful to interject towards their partner. While we all hold our partners in contempt from time to time, when contempt becomes a regular occurrence, Gottman says the relationship could be doomed.

The odd thing about contempt is that instead of the two partners working together, contempt can push them not only further apart, but also put them in a war zone. However, contempt is not just bad for relationships, research has also pointed out that contempt can harm our health. Based on the research, when people hold others in contempt in their communication, they have a higher likelihood of ending up with a major disease like heart disease or cancer.

If you feel like you and your partner may be holding each other in contempt, it may be helpful to sit down and face negative feelings together. Additionally, if you want your relationship to survive, Gottman says it is of the utmost importance to let your partner know they are appreciated and to be sure to show it on the regular.

10 Benefits of Staying Single That Most People Dont Realize Awareness Act

Our society tends to place immense pressure on us to find someone and find our happily ever after. While this works for some, it just isnt for everyone.

While relationships are great, there are a lot of benefits to staying single. So, if you havent found your happily ever after yet, or do not even really care to find one at all, dont dismay. You do not have to have a partner to live a good life. You can be single and still live your best life.

Here are 10 benefits to staying single you may not have even thought of.

1. You can spend more time finding yourself.

While many people focus on finding a partner, you could be spending that time finding yourself. I spent much of my earlier years, worried that I would never find Mr. Right. However, when I started focusing on growth and self-love, it no longer mattered.

2. You can flirt with whomever you wish.

When you are in a relationship, you have to settle with one person. Buuuuuut, if you remain single, you can enjoy as many people as you wish. It can be fun to date around and just enjoy it, instead of worrying about committing.

3. Travel anyone?

If you are in a relationship, it can be hard to travel. Your partner may not be in a position to travel, or they may not want to travel. However, when you are single, you can go wherever you please.

4. Hello, career!

Many people choose to remain single because they want to focus on their careers. Yes, you can focus on your career if you have a partner, but we only have so much focus to give. Oftentimes, when we spread ourselves thin, we are less likely to get what we want from our focus. Staying single allows you more of your focus to pour into your career.

5. You dont have to share your home with someone else.

Living with others, even if you love them, is no cakewalk. You have to get used to dealing with another persons issues and lets be real, people are difficult. Even we are difficult. However, if you choose to remain single, you dont have to worry about dealing with living with someone else.

6. You can focus on other relationships.

Our romantic relationships are not the only ones that matter. If you have family, friends, and pets, then you know all too well that those relationships are important too. When you choose to stay single, you can spend more time with them.

7. You can rest peacefully.

Sleeping with another person can be nice sometimes, but even if the cuddles are awesome, after a while, most people like their space in the bed. Unfortunately, if one of you sleeps like a starfish and the other does not, it can make sleeping a struggle. Not to mention different body temps and different movements.

8. You can focus on your dreams.

While career aspirations and relationship aspirations are the most typical, those are not the only dreams you can have. When you choo...

6 Reasons Why Confident & Strong Women End Up As Targets for Narcissists Awareness Act

Narcissists are those who have a personality disorder characterized by extreme selfishness, a lack of regard for others, a lack of empathy, and manipulation. There are many misconceptions surrounding narcissists, and one of those is that they always go after women who are weak and insecure.

While many may think this, narcissists prefer women who are strong and confident, but there is a reason for this. Remember, narcissists, are very massive egos. From the outside looking in, most would see the narcissist as someone who only views themselves in a grandiose light, however, beneath the exterior the narcissist is weak and insecure, so it makes sense they would go for someone confident and strong.

1. It poses more of a challenge.

Narcissists love a good challenge, and a confident and strong woman is just that. To the narcissist, winning over the heart of someone strong and confident is a big thrill.

2. It makes them feel worthy.

While their exterior may be tough, deep down the narcissist is very fragile. By obtaining a confident and strong woman, they feel like they have achieved something. Unfortunately, a part of them may even feel entitled to have what the strong and confident woman has. If they can win her over, they feel like they are proving that they are worthy to others as well.

3. They are attracted to kindness and empathy.

A woman who is strong and confident has a lot of empathy and is quite kind. Narcissists feed off of these types of behavior because typically, people who encompass great kindness and empathy tend to provide a solid supply, which the narcissist thrives off of.

4. They want to be more like the confident & strong woman.

A major part of the narcissist wants to be more like a confident and strong woman. One aspect of this relationship is that the narcissist feels like he can have her on his shoulder, others may view him much like they view her.

5. Someone who is confident and strong makes them feel safe.

Remember, narcissists, are fragile to their core. Many narcissists come from backgrounds of abuse. So, they tend to gravitate toward people who feel safe.

6. Narcissists thrive on validation.

Narcissists need a constant supply of validation. When they meet a strong and confident woman, they know there is more than meets the eye. He wants more of what she has, and he knows if he can win her over, maybe she will pour some of herself into him.

Why Many Marriages Could Benefit From A Third Awareness Act

Our society tends to make us believe that our partner is responsible for fulfilling all of our needs, so when we dont feel satisfied with our life, we believe our partner has failed us in some way. We spend almost our lives trying to find the perfect person, yet when we do finally get the girl or guy, they always fall short.

One person is not able to meet all of your needs every moment of every day. Its completely unrealistic to think they can. Recently, in a Psychology Today piece, the author tells a story about himself and a girl that he met in a workshop. He states he spent three days flirting and trying to win her over, only to be told, Youre a wonderful man. I could easily fall in love with you. But I am married. I fall in love twice a week and take all that energy and channel it into my marriage.

Then, he states that she walked away, and the two never crossed paths again. It was only later in life that he realized that this woman was utilizing the power of a third in her relationship.

When our partners do not fulfill our needs, we can go a few directions: we can either give up on fulfilling our needs, force our partner to (a toxic dynamic) or we can outsource.

When you outsource, you are bringing in a third. While in many cases, the third is a literal person, it doesnt have to be. It can also be a hobby, something you are passionate about, or something that gives you purpose.

Losing yourself to a third can ultimately lead to betrayal, and it can jeopardize the boundaries of your relationship. However, if you can master finding a healthy balance with this third party, without betraying your partner and while keeping things completely healthy. If you can master this fine line, you can achieve true satisfaction.

6 Subtle Signs Of Female Autism Awareness Act

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that can impact behavior, communication, and learning. In the U.S. around 2.2% of the population has ASD and of those, it is more common among men.

However, up until recently, the majority of autism research has been carried out on men or boys, so there is another theory that women are just simply not represented enough in the literature and research. One thing we do know for sure is that autism presents differently in women than it does in men, which can often lead to misdiagnosis.

Below, I will go over some of the lesser talked about symptoms of a female with autism.

1. Easily socially exhausted.

Women with autism tend to mask their symptoms better than men. Due to this, many people may not even realize that someone they are dealing with is autistic. However, this can make it much harder to deal with social situations, because ultimately, what happens is, socializing becomes a lot of work.

2. Feeling different.

Women with autism may experience feeling differently. In some cases, they may feel the urge to hide who they are, and over time, to fit in, they will adopt the mannerisms of people in pop culture to cover their autistic traits. Deep down, they may realize they are different, but struggle to understand why.

3. Extreme sensitivity to sensory.

The world is much different for an autistic person than it is for someone who is neurotypical. Extreme sensory sensitivity is common among the autistic population. You see, autism can make you have a heightened sense of awareness for sounds, smells, lights, and even touch.

4. Obsessive traits.

Men and women alike tend to have specialized and very focused interests. In most cases, the autistic mind is geared to have a what if- then mindset, which drives them to understand how things work. When something catches their interest, they will learn as much as they can about it. Men with autism are more hyper-fixated on one or two interests, while women can have a wide range of subjects they are obsessed with.

5. Meltdowns caused by sensory overload.

Those affected by ASD can easily become overwhelmed by bright lights, loud noises, or other sensory input. This can lead them to feel distracted or overwhelmed. Women with this disorder tend to be able to cope a little bit better than men and can push through their obstacles in most cases due to masking.

6. Emotional dysregulation.

Women who have ASD tend to feel somewhat emotionally dysregulated. This can make it hard for them to control their emotions during some moments, but they are also great at regulating their emotions during other times. One common theme is difficulty in understanding what they are feeling or connecting physical ailments to their emotions.

7. A need for certainty.

Women with ASD thrive when they feel like their routine is p...

Losing a child is an extremely traumatic event, and perhaps one of the most traumatic things a person can endure. Every year, over 50,000 U.S. Children die, according to the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics. One of the hardest problems, the researchers write, is the dissolution of the attachment relationship with the child, because it elicits severe anxiety and other negative feelings associated with loss.

Additionally, the authors write, extreme guilt can follow the death of a child. Many parents blame themselves for not being able to protect their children. Ultimately, the fact is that it is not the order of things for a child to die before their parents. The natural order is that children lose their parents (optimally well into their adult years, instead of the other way around.)

Even with it being understood how much the loss of a child impacts their parents, the research is still pretty limited. In order to carry out this particular study, the researchers identified 530 participants who reported the loss of their child in a collection of data in 1992. They observed these parents for decades and what they found was that even well into their lives, many of the individuals suffered from depressive symptoms, struggled to find purpose in life, and has a decreased sense of psychological well-being.

Additionally, the majority of the participants experienced health conditions, such as high blood pressure, shortness of breath, and acute angina.

One thing the researchers wrote that I found extremely worth noting is that most parents did not seek out specialized interventions for bereavement. Due to the fact that this was lacking across the board, the researchers wondered if there was some form of helpful intervention for parental grief and if they may have better outcomes.

Why is everyone so messed up? Carl Jung explains neurosis Signs of the Times

Neuroticism is "a tendency toward anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and other negative feelings," as succinctly defined by Psychology Today. One thing you notice living abroad in certain (not all) non-Western countries, coming from the West, is the neuroticism differential. Westerners in Bangkok, for instance, get super mad when the bus doesn't come on time. To cope, they verbally berate minimum-wage workers who have no control over the matter whatsoever. In contrast, the locals shrug their shoulders, chalk it up to fate or whatever, and take the punches as they come. One comes away with the awful impression that the bus tardiness is not, in the ultimate analysis, the source of the farang's consternation ("farang" being local jargon for "white foreigner"). Carl Jung, famed psychoanalyst of posterity, agrees.

Ukraine: The tunnel at the end of the light Signs of the Times

China's Belt and Road Initiative is a dizzyingly ambitious plan to connect Asia and more than 100 nations with 21st Century economic infrastructure, everything from highways and high-speed rail lines to power generation, energy pipelines, communication systems, cities, ports, and more. "Light at the end of the tunnel" was an iconic phrase used by the warmongers who kept the U.S. in Vietnam long after the War had been lost. The implication was that insiders could see through the fog of war and know that things were getting better. It was a lie. In January 1966, long before the military height of the War, Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara told President Johnson that the U.S. had a one-out-of-three chance of winning on the battlefield. But Johnson, like Eisenhower and Kennedy before him, and Nixon after him, didn't want to be the first American president to lose a war. So, he ginned up a simplistic lie and "soldiered on." The lie was blown by the Tet Offensive in January 1968. More...

John Fetterman 'co-sponsors' Senate bills despite being institutionalized since February 15 Signs of the Times

While Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman continues to be hospitalized for clinical depression, he has been named as a co-sponsor of a bipartisan bill launched in the wake of the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. S.576, "A bill to enhance safety requirements for trains transporting hazardous materials, and for other purposes," was introduced to the Senate on Wednesday by Sen. Sherrod Brown. Listed as co-sponsors of the bill are Sens. John Fetterman, JD Vance, Robert Casey Jr., Marco Rubio, and Josh Hawley. Yet on February 15, the freshman congressman checked himself into Walter Reed medical center in Washington, DC to "receive treatment for clinical depression." He has not yet emerged, and his wife and family have left the US for Canada as rumors swirl about his condition. "On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress. Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he...

The UN discusses darkening the skies to combat climate change Signs of the Times

A new report from the UN was just published. It proposes and discusses ways to cool our planet by restricting sunlight and darkening our skies. What is this about? Why block sunlight, of all things? Let me explain. The UN is worried about climate change. As the efforts to reduce CO2 emissions are faltering, the UN is looking for more ways to cool the Earth. The UNEP's report details ideas called "Solar Radiation Modification," the gist of which is to reflect sunlight and prevent it from heating the surface of our planet. Here are the main ideas that the UN will consider: Injecting reflective nanoparticles/sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere (stratospheric aerosol injection) Brightening of low clouds over the ocean by seeding ocean clouds with submicron salt particles Using space mirrors, that is, many giant mirrors launched into outer space to reflect sunlight. The UN explains that should the "global stakeholders" decide to proceed, the skies could be darkened within only a few...

Half the world faces starvation under net zero policies, say two top climate scientists Signs of the Times

Billions of people around the world face starvation if Net Zero policies ban the production of nitrogen fertiliser derived from fossil fuels. This is the stark warning from two top American scientists who say that eliminating fossil fuel-derived nitrogen fertilisers and pesticides "will result in about half the world's population not having enough food to eat". They add that eliminating Net Zero fertiliser will create "worldwide starvation". In a wide-ranging paper titled 'Challenging 'Net Zero' with Science', Emeritus Professors William Happer and Richard Lindzen of Princeton and MIT respectively, along with geologist Gregory Wrightstone, state that Net Zero - the global movement to eliminate fossil fuels and its emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases - to be "scientifically invalid and a threat to the lives of billions of people". The battle over nitrogen fertiliser is being hard fought by green activists who argue for massive reductions in its use and more...

Russell Brand CRUSHES John Heilemann over MSNBC's bias, propaganda Signs of the Times

On Friday's episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Russell Brand called out MSNBC commentator John Heilemann for "throwing rocks at Fox News" while his network participates in "propagandist nut-crackery" and gave examples after Heilemann refused to acknowledge his liberal bias, leaving the pundit unable to articulate a comeback except repeating "nonresponsive... nonresponsive." "It's disingenuous to claim that the biases they've exhibited on Fox News are any different from the biases exhibited on MSNBC," Brand said. "It's difficult to suggest that these corporations operate as anything other than mouthpieces for their affiliate owners in Black Rock and Vanguard." "We have to take responsibility for our own perspective," Brand said, and later added, "I've been on that MSNBC, mate. It was propagandist nut-crackery." In 2013, Brand appeared on Morning Joe on a day when Joe Scarborough was absent. As Brand wrote on his website, Mika Brzezinski and the co-hosts only talked about the...

Dumb and Dumber. Scholz and Macron have a plan to bring peace to Ukraine Signs of the Times

Scholz and Macron have a plan to bring peace to Ukraine, but Putin can't stop laughing as it's so stupid. And why would Russia quit now when Europe is on the back foot anyway? Hollywood has a new double act which it can make a sequel to the comedy starring Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels Dumb and Dumber. Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz could easily play these roles now, given their gob-smacking stupidity recently in attempting to reign in President Zelensky, who recently in London managed to break his own record at a live press conference for sniffing or touching his nose in an odd manner. Zelensky is, and always has been, the real stumbling block when it comes to kickstarting peace talks. And nothing much has changed of late, except that Biden is starting to panic in Washington as it is clear the obscene amount of money which was previously shovelled to Ukraine is going to slow down in 2023, due largely to congress now having the Republicans controlling the House and an election race...

At least 13 people are dead as severe storms bring tornadoes and flooding to southern US, now sweeps across northeast Signs of the Times

At least 13 people have died in multiple states due to severe weather across the country as a powerful storm system that brought golf ball-sized hail and tornadoes to the South continues to march Saturday across the Northeast. The storm spurred wind gusts strong enough to topple tractor-trailer trucks, leaving more than 1 million people without power and threatening to bring more torrential rain, tornadoes and heavy snow. The storm system is the same that dumped feet of snow across parts of California, leaving some trapped in their homes with snow piled as high as second-story windows and prompting the governor to declare a state of emergency in 13 counties. Many of those affected are now bracing for another round of snow and rain on Saturday from a new system. At least five Kentuckians have died in connection with the severe weather that hit the area Friday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said during a news briefing on Saturday.

China's Turn Signs of the Times

Americas Hyper-Financialized Economic System Is No Match for China's Government-Directed Investment Model. Regrettably, China's Explosive Growth Is Pushing a Desperate Washington Closer to War. Ukraine is the first flashpoint in a great power struggle between the United States and China. After years of shifting its industries to low-wage locations around the world, the US finds itself steadliy losing market-share to a faster-growing and more resourceful China. By most estimates, China's economy will overtake the United States by 2035 at which point, Beijing will be in a much better position to shape international trade relations in a way that promotes its own interests. With growth, comes power, and that rule will certainly apply to China as well. China has emerged as an industrial powerhouse that sits at the very epicenter of the most populous and fastest growing region in the world. It is for that reason that the United States has initiated a series of provocations on the island...

According to Chinese state media, Lukashenko was welcomed with a 21-gun salute in Tiananmen Square, where he reviewed honor guard troops with Xi, who later declared the China-Belarus friendship "unbreakable." This bright bolide was spotted from Spain on March 2, at 4:56 local time (equivalent to 3:56 universal time). It overflew Morocco and was almost as bright as the full Moon. The event was generated by a rock (a meteoroid) from a comet that hit the atmosphere at about 238,000 km/h. Some inscriptions might have been made using runes, others with Roman letters," says Johan Bollaert, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies. Last autumn, he defended his doctoral thesis "Visuality and Literacy in the Medieval Epigraphy of Norway."

Another train derails in Ohio Signs of the Times

A Norfolk Southern cargo train derailed near Springfield, Ohio in the US on Saturday. The incident comes a month after another train operated by the same company came off the tracks in East Palestine, Ohio, causing a major toxic spill. This time there were no hazardous materials on the train, Norfolk Southern noted in a statement. "Our teams are en route to the site to begin cleanup operations," the company said. There were no deaths or injuries as a result of the incident, it added. Residents within 300 meters (1,000 feet) of the crash site have been told to shelter in place "out of an abundance of caution," the local emergency management agency said. Between 20 and 30 cars out of 212 on the train derailed at around 5 pm by State Route 41, the Springfield News-Sun reported, citing on-site emergency officials. Electricity was reportedly out in parts of Springfield as power lines were damaged in the crash.

A new #TwitterFiles thread will be dropping in a few hours, at noon EST. It follows up the Hamilton 68 story of a month ago with examples of state-funded digital blacklisting campaigns run amok. It's self-explanatory, but some advance context might help: In 2015-2016, during the brief, forgotten period when Islamic terrorism was fading as a national obsession and Trumpian "domestic extremism" had not yet become one, Barack Obama made a series of decisions that may yet prove devastating to his legacy. The short Engagement Center" ("GEC") to "counter the messaging and diminish the influence of international terrorist organizations." Britain was failed by a pro-lockdown clique incapable of admitting its errors Signs of the Times

Very rarely do we come across a cache of documents giving an unvarnished glimpse of the personalities, as well as the policies, which shape our lives. Britain's 30-year rule shows us memos and scribbled comments, but with no hint of the conversations behind them. Richard Crossman's posthumous diaries were so explosive that ministers tried to suppress publication, but even that was just one man's view. Matt Hancock won't be thanked for it, but he has done the nation a great service by keeping perhaps the richest documentary source disclosed in recent years. Conversations in and around 10 Downing Street would never normally be recorded. But Hancock's WhatsApp messages offer a real-time record of decision-making - complete with gossip, reactions, documents, conversations and emojis. They have several stories, to be sure, but the real value lies in something greater: a psychological profile of a group of men who had untrammelled power over the lives of millions. How would any group...

Hybrid work is here to stay in many organizations. Employees value the flexibility of remote work so much that many have resisted mandates to spend more time in the office. But managers face special challenges leading teams whose members mix time in the office with remote work. Leaders of distributed teams need to pay attention to an often-overlooked dimension of work: network ties. Research suggests that the move to hybrid work has diminished some of employees connections to their networks of contacts at work.

World's first horse riders found near the Black Sea Signs of the Times

Researchers have discovered evidence of horse riding by studying the remains of human skeletons found in burial mounds called kurgans, which were between 4,500 and 5,000 years old. The earthen burial mounds belonged to the Yamnaya culture. The Yamnayans had migrated from the Pontic-Caspian steppes to find greener pastures in todays countries of Romania and Bulgaria up to Hungary and Serbia. Yamnayans were mobile cattle and sheep herders, now believed to be on horseback. "Horseback-riding seems to have evolved not long after the presumed domestication of horses in the western Eurasian steppes during the fourth millennium BCE. It was already rather common in members of the Yamnaya culture between 3000 and 2500 BCE," says Volker Heyd, Professor of Archaeology at the University of Helsinki and a member of the international team that made the discovery.

Trump was the keynote speaker this year at the annual conservative event. President Trump won the straw poll overwhelmingly earlier in the day with 62% support. The second-place finisher Governor Ron DeSantis had 20% support. President Trump promised to move the party forward from the old, weak RINO leadership. President Trump said: "...There's never been anything like this. We had a Republican Party that was ruled by freaks, neocons, globalists, open-border zealots, and fools. But we are never going back to the party of Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush."

Voices Against War Dissident Voice

Read Parts 1 and 2.

The sooner the war in Ukraine is over, the sooner the U.S. and Russia can get down to the business of preserving arms control as a viable part of the relationship between the two nations.

By seeking to extend the Ukraine conflict, however, the U.S. is in effect engaging in an act of self-immolation that threatens to engulf the world in a nuclear holocaust.

former United States Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter

It is an imperative, and it must be a universal principle of all morally conscious people that war is anathema and militaries should be abolished everywhere, at least on the national level. (I leave open space for the establishment and maintenance of a genuinely international military force under a nonaligned international command to uphold the disarmament and abolishment of national and extranational militaries.)

In the article, On the Left and Violence in Syria: The imperialist Violence in Syria, Part 7, B.J. Sabri and I discussed violence in the context of mortal struggle between or inside nation states and the need to consider the factors that generated it. It is a given that every decent person in the world should decry the killing of kids, women, elderly, and civilians of all ages anywhere, and this includes men; there is no debate on this point. However, our rage, analysis, and criticism should be directed primarily and even exclusively on all those governments whose involvement in imperialism, warring, and killing that create death, destruction, and tragedies.

However, the root causes of warring must be addressed, and not all warring must be considered as equivalent. Morality and principles must guide us in how we address warring.

Earlier, I argued: As a principle, resistance to oppression must be an inalienable right no matter what the type of resistance it may be. Blame for any violent resistance must never be laid on the oppressed but rather on the oppressor because oppression in itself is violent and when one suffers violence then violent resistance becomes justified as self-defense.

Numerous anti-imperialist writers from around the world are antiwar. Yet, not all clearly distinguish between the initiator of the violence, resistance to the initial violence, and machinations that corner a rival country wh...

Most Americans believe feds helped incite Capitol riot - poll CLG News

Most Americans believe feds helped incite Capitol riot - poll --A Rasmussen survey has found that only 18% of US voters are convinced that the government played no role in the January 6 breach | 4 March 2023 | More than six in ten Americans believe it's at least "somewhat likely" that federal government agents helped provoke the January 2021 Capitol riot, a new poll has revealed, suggesting that media outlets have largely failed to brand the incident as an insurrection incited by then-President Donald Trump. The poll, released this week by Rasmussen Reports, shows that among the 61% of US voters who think the feds probably helped spur Trump supporters to breach the Capitol, most see that scenario as "very likely." Just 30% of Americans believe it's unlikely that undercover agents were involved in the riot, including 18% who say it's "not at all likely."

Dem Mayor Arrested For Possession of Child Pornography Was Previously Mentored by Pete Buttigieg, Invited to White House CLG News

Dem Mayor Arrested For Possession of Child Pornography Was Previously Mentored by Pete Buttigieg, Invited to White House | 2 March 2023 | The Gateway Pundit reported earlier on Thursday Patrick Wojahn, the Democratic mayor of College Park, Maryland, resigned just one day before being arrested on 56 counts of possession and distribution of child pornography. The Prince George's County police department arrested Wojahn soon after they discovered he was allegedly operating a social media account distributing pornography. Before his arrest, Wojahn had friendships with high-profile Democrats such as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. The Washington Blade in 2019 reported, "Pete Buttigieg has mentored Patrick Wojahn over the years."

AG Garland Overruled FBI Agents Who Wanted to Close Trump Document Probe and Approved the Mar-a-Lago Raid CLG News

AG Garland Overruled FBI Agents Who Wanted to Close Trump Document Probe and Approved the Mar-a-Lago Raid | 3 March 2023 | The Washington Post claims that last year two FBI agents wanted to close the sham investigation into President Trump's documents held a Mar-a-Lago. Instead, AG Merrick Garland overruled them and approved the raid of Mar-a-Lago in one of the darkest days in US history. The Washington Post reported yesterday: "Months of disputes between Justice Department prosecutors and FBI agents over how best to try to recover classified documents from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club and residence led to a tense showdown near the end of July last year, according to four people familiar with the discussions. Prosecutors argued that new evidence suggested Trump was knowingly concealing secret documents at his Palm Beach, Fla., home and urged the FBI to conduct a surprise raid at the property. But two senior FBI officials who would be in charge of leading the search resisted the plan as too combative and proposed instead to seek Trumps permission to search his property, according to the four people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a sensitive investigation."

Indias Education Market: The Next Neo-Colonial Frontier Dissident Voice

Over the last week or so, Australian politicians and representatives of the university sector got busy pressing flesh in India, hoping to open avenues that have largely remained aspirational. It was timed to coincide with G20 talks in New Delhi, which has seen a flurry of contentious meetings traversing security, economics and education, all taking place in the shadow of the Ukraine War.

A starring outcome of the various discussions was an agreement between Canberra and New Delhi to ensure the mutual recognition of qualifications. On March 3, the Australian Minister for Education, Jason Clare, stated in a media release that the Mechanism for the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications was Indias most comprehensive education agreement of its type with another country.

Such a mechanism would ensure that Indian students attaining a degree from an Australian university would have it recognised should they wish to continue higher education in India. The release continues to optimistically extol the merits of the mechanism, which would open a world of possibilities to develop flexible and innovative partnerships between the two countries. Minister Clare and his counterpart Shri Dharmendra Pradhan also reaffirmed their wish to establish an Australia India Working Group on Transnational Partnerships.

A number of memoranda of understanding, totalling 11 in all, were also signed, stressing bilateral cooperation between India and Australia in a number of fields, including law and bio-innovation. The developments today, announced the Indian Ministry of Education with certain effusion, will create more opportunities for two-way mobility of students and professionals for the purpose of education and employment, and pave the way for making education the biggest enabler in taking India-Australia bilateral relationship to greater heights and shared aspirations.

The public relations front was also busy with fanfare. Brian Schmidt, Nobel laureate and vice-chancellor of the Australian National University, met students and officials at Sri Venkateswara College of the University of Delhi. His polite welcome was shaded by the more raucous one given to former Australian test cricketer Adam Gilchrist, who acts as the University of Wollongongs global brand ambassador. For such institutions, brands come before brains.

Gilchrists presence was unsurprising, given the zeal with which the university he represents is pursuing a base in India. (The added point here is that Indians are utterly bonkers for cricket.) The soft power of cricketing a...

Senate kills Biden ESG investment rule in stunning rebuke CLG News

Senate kills Biden ESG investment rule in stunning rebuke --Biden may issue his first veto after Congress voted to repeal his administration's ESG rule | 1 March 2023 | The Senate on Wednesday passed a disapproval resolution, formally killing a Biden administration Department of Labor rule that encourages private retirement plan fiduciaries to consider environment, social and governance (ESG) factors when making investment decisions for over 150 million Americans. The measure, which only required a simple majority to pass, passed the threshold in a 50-46 vote. The House of Representatives passed it Tuesday in a 216-204 vote, with only one Democrat voting for the bill. Two Democrats voted for the bill in the Senate: Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana. "President [sic] Biden wants to sacrifice seniors' retirement savings to fund his political agenda," Sen. Mike Braun of Indiana, who led the bill, told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

Has the mystery of Earth's uniform shine been solved? Signs of the Times

Take a look at Earth from far off in space, you'd notice it looks uniformly bright. Considering the Southern Hemisphere's disproportionate expanse of dark ocean waters should reflect back less sunlight, this isn't what we might expect down here on the surface. It's a mystery that's been of interest to scientists since the early 1970s, when we were first able to get satellites into orbit to measure reflected solar radiation, which is technically known as albedo. Now, that mystery may have been solved. The explanation is that while the oceans of the Southern Hemisphere absorb more sunlight, they also produce a higher number of storms - and the resulting storm clouds act as reflectors that balance out the solar radiation being sent back into space.

Scotland bans anaesthetic because of its 'impact on the climate', EU to follow Signs of the Times

Scotland has banned the inhaled anaesthetic desflurane due to its devastating impact on the climate. It is the first country in the world to do so. The gas, which is used to put patients to sleep safely during surgery, has a global warming potential 2,500 times greater than carbon dioxide, according to the UK's National Health Service (NHS). Various hospitals in other parts of the UK have already begun phasing out the anaesthetic. NHS England plans to stop using desflurane completely by early 2024, except in exceptional circumstances.

Land-price related Cost-of-living pressures trigger record demand for Lifeline's resources (We) can do better

Recent analysis claims that in 82 of Sydney's 2019 residential postcodes, a single tenant needs to be making at least $100,000 a year to avoid being in housing stress. For those within five kilometres of the CBD, that figure rises to $117,000, well above the NSW average income of $97,604 for a full-time worker." Lifeline, Australia's crisis and suicide hotline, describes 'record activity' in searches for assistance and support for stress related to the high cost of living as affected by Australia's shockingly high land and housing prices. (Note that the Australian CPI does not take land price inflation into account.) National housing campaign 'Everybodys Home,' says a growing number of renters are reaching breaking point, with new analysis revealing some Melburnians are paying as much as $165 extra per week in rent compared to a year ago. Candobetter notes that there are so many calls to keep wages down, but the same employer organisations advocating this are also advocating for more mass migration, which is the principle long-term driver of inflated land-for-housing prices.

Finance minister tells RT Russia has 'adapted' to sanctions Signs of the Times

The West has been left 'disappointed' by Russia's resilience to the punitive measures, most of which have backfired, Anton Siluanov says Responsible economic policy has allowed Russia to keep its economy afloat and in many ways improve its performance throughout the past year despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov claimed in an interview with RT on Friday. According to Siluanov, the measures taken by the Russian government to offset the impact of the Ukraine-related Western sanctions have "disappointed" those who predicted a double-digit GDP drop, high inflation, and a sharp decline in the incomes of Russian citizens. Siluanov noted that the country's economy dipped by only 2.1% in 2022, which is even less than the decline of 2.7% in the pandemic-marred 2020.

Daniel Ellsberg's not yet goodbye Signs of the Times

Dear friends and supporters, I have difficult news to impart. On Feb. 17, without much warning, I was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer on the basis of a CT scan and an MRI. (As is usual with pancreatic cancer-which has no early symptoms - it was found while looking for something else, relatively minor). I'm sorry to report to you that my doctors have given me three to six months to live. Of course, they emphasize that everyone's case is individual; it might be more, or less. I have chosen not to do chemotherapy (which offers no promise) and I have assurance of great hospice care when needed. Please know: right now, I am not in any physical pain, and in fact, after my hip replacement surgery in late 2021, I feel better physically than I have in years! Moreover, my cardiologist has given me license to abandon my salt-free diet of the last six years. This has improved my quality of life dramatically: the pleasure of eating my former favorite foods! And my energy level is...

Who is India's National Security Advisor and why did Putin decide to meet him one-on-one? Signs of the Times

The recent one-on-one meeting between India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Kumar Doval and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow underscored the growing stature of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's key resource for troubleshooting both back home and in key foreign capitals. Putin took some foreign policy experts by surprise by making time to meet with Doval, India's fifth NSA and a retired Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief. Their hour-long meeting took place on the sidelines of an Afghanistan conference, organized under the aegis of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Doval is only the second Indian NSA to have had an individual meeting with the Russian president. The first such meeting was the inaugural NSA Brajesh Mishra, back in 2001. Of all Indian high-ranking officials, only Prime Ministers have ever had direct meetings with Putin. Even the country's External Affairs Ministers have been excluded, including the incumbent Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The threat of global tyranny from the WHO's pandemic treaty draws ever closer Signs of the Times

The World Health Organisation (WHO) is currently developing two international legal instruments intended to increase its authority in managing health emergencies, including pandemics: Amendments to the 2005 International Health Regulations (IHR) A pandemic treaty, termed 'CA+' by WHO The draft IHR amendments (analysed in detail here) would lay out new powers for WHO during health emergencies and broaden the context within which they can be used. The draft CA+ ('treaty'; analysed here) is intended to support the bureaucracy, financing and governance to underpin the expanded IHR. These proposed instruments, as currently drafted, would fundamentally change the relationship between the WHO, its Member States and their populations, promoting what can fairly be described as a fascist and neo-colonialist approach to healthcare and governance. The documents need to be viewed together, and in the wider context of the global/globalist pandemic preparedness agenda.

We'll soon find out Signs of the Times

The crown of America sits in a gutter begging someone to pick it up before the nation collapses Auron MacIntyre, The Blaze In an interview with Fox News's Bret Baier last Tuesday, FBI Director Chris Wray said, "The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan." Like so much else in America's tortured, distractible life these days, the meaning larded into that utterance went clear over the collective heads of just about everybody. What was the key part of that statement? "For quite some time now...." Gee, really? Like, how long? One year? More than that? Maybe since March 2020? And you didn't say anything, Mr. FBI Director? You didn't do a thing to dispel the Covid-19 miasma of confusion that swaddled Washington DC like a smallpox blanket of yore? The question of where the novel coronavirus came from has been a ferocious national controversy since late 2019, you understand. Several government agencies,...

Biden's DHS funnels $350M to illegal aliens released into US communities Signs of the Times

President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is funneling hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to border crossers and illegal aliens directly released into American communities after arriving at the United States-Mexico border. This week, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the agency would be spending some $350 million on the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, specifically to fund support services for border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in various U.S. towns and cities. Mayorkas said: "With today's funding of $350 million for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, DHS is delivering on our commitment to provide needed support to communities across the country that receive noncitizens who are in immigration enforcement proceedings." Already, DHS has spent $75 million "to fund costs incurred by localities and non-governmental organizations" through the program.

US lawmakers approve resolution to uphold economic sanctions on Syria Signs of the Times

UN experts have called on western nations to immediately lift sanctions against Syria, highlighting the devastating impact these punitive measures have on the civilian population. The US House of Representatives on 27 February approved Resolution 132, which urges the White House to "remain committed" to implementing unilateral economic sanctions on quake-struck Syria. In a 414-2 vote, lawmakers resolved that Washington must "remain committed to the protection of the Syrian people including by implementing the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2019." Republican representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie were the only ones to vote against the resolution. While neither has publicly commented on their vote, western media has painted their objection as a refusal to "mourn the victims" of last month's earthquake. Comment: Congress 'mourns' and 'protects' the people with sanctions. Meanwhile, the media crucifies independent thinkers.

'One of Europe's top right-wing extremists': Who is the Neo-Nazi behind this week's Ukrainian attack in Russia's Bryansk region? Signs of the Times

On Thursday morning, a group of armed operatives crossed the border from Ukraine into Russia's Bryansk Region. The so-called Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK; or Russkiy dobrovol'cheskiy korpus), consisting of Russians fighting for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, claimed responsibility for the incursion. President Vladimir Putin branded the incident "yet another terrorist attack, another crime... they entered the border territory and opened fire at civilians." A video has been released by the RDK, claiming responsibility for the crime, featuring Denis Nikitin, a Neo-Nazi with wide international connections. Known as 'WhiteRex' in far-right circles, he called on Russian citizens to switch sides and join the Ukrainian army. Nikitin claimed his group only targets Russian soldiers and never attacks civilians. Who is this man? What is his connection to Ukraine and its armed forces? And how did a football hooligan become a prominent figure in the European and American neo-Nazi underworld?

The end of the beginning: Wagner chief says his mercenaries have 'practically encircled' the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut Signs of the Times

The head of Russia's Wagner mercenary group said Friday his forces had 'practically encircled' Bakhmut, an industrial city in eastern Ukraine that has seen the fiercest fighting of Moscow's invasion. Warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin said there was 'just one road remaining' out of the city for its Ukrainian defenders to leave by, as Russia's forces moved in. Footage circulated online showing a railway bridge being destroyed in an explosion, which some said was Ukrainian forces covering their retreat. Others said Russia destroyed the bridge. MailOnline could not immediately verify the video. Ukraine has said it will defend 'fortress Bakhmut' for as long as possible, but this week officials conceded the situation was becoming increasingly difficult. Russia is determined to seize Bakhmut - a now-destroyed city once known for its sparkling wine - as part of its wider aim of capturing the entire Donetsk region. UK Russophobia: Russians assaulted, threatened and abused as hate crimes linked to Ukraine war surge Signs of the Times

Russians in the UK have been subjected to violent assaults, threats and vandalism in the last year, as new figures suggest a surge in hate crime linked to the war in Ukraine. A Sky News investigation has found details of dozens of race hate crimes against Russian nationals in Britain since 24 February 2022, the date Vladimir Putin began his invasion. One large police force in England saw anti-Russian offences more than double in the last year compared to 2021, while a charity revealed that children of primary school age have been victims. An expert has warned that the number of recorded offences is likely to be the "tip of the iceberg" as many go unreported, and the spike is expected to continue for the duration of the war.

Ron DeSantis: Dogmatist Extraordinaire Dissident Voice

Certainty closes the minds of those possessing the Truth from on High. These darlings of the gods may even feel sorry for those benighted Unfortunates with the temerity of disagreeing with them and try to persuade them to see reason to save them from themselves.

As the blood-stained pages of history amply attest, dogmatists may try to convert, persecute, torture, or even burn their victims at the stake for their own good.  Dogmatic certainty can be a very dangerous thing and turn the powerful of this world into monsters about a difference of opinion.

It is an odd quirk of fate that some dogmatists will try to convert unbelievers not to convince them but rather themselves, since converts strengthen the dogmatists faith in themselves.

Some who adopt such sinister measures of persuasion like burning at the stake may even be prompted not by certainty, but an inner doubt so alarming that they must silence it by projecting it onto their victims to find inner peace to rid the world of these heretics and their own doubts.

Such persecution, torture, and murder have always been the stock-in-trade of dogmatists in dealing with dissent, and especially when they are also demagogues who ascend to power to impose their will on their people, so that dissent becomes treason.

Democracies, on the other hand, know that dissent isnt treason, but the lifeblood of democracies.  A government which oppresses a democratic people is no longer morally legitimate because it has lost the consent of the governed and rules only by force, at times with a fig leaf of legitimacy called the Divine Right of Kings.

Let us consider such a dogmatist-as-tyrant as the very embodiment of this closed-minded certainty:

He is not someone of humility who realizes his own past errors, with the confident expectation that he will doubtless err again; nor someone who modestly affirms his perception of truth and refuses to call it Divine Revelation.

Nor someone who is aware that when several answers are possible, his alone need not be true and allows himself to be counseled by seasoned advisors about which answer is best.

Nor is he someone who realizes that various factors may predispose him to think as he doeshis upbringing, temperament, age, race, social class, religion, nationality, profession, or an uncontrollable lust for power.

Nor someone who realizes that these conditioning factors may be not merely influencing him, but doing his thinking for him, and so he adopts a healthy live-and-let-live attitude toward those who disagree with him.

No, he is none of these, but the Omniscient One, who through some mysterious dispensation has been vouchsafed from above the divine prerogative to know what is right and wrong, true and false, wise and foolish for all men and all women in all times and places. Nay, he is the Enlightened One Himself who, sitting enthrone...

How consciousness in animals could be researched Signs of the Times

Animal consciousness should not be thought of as a light switch, which can be on or off, Bochum philosophers say. They advocate a different approach. There are reasons to assume that not only humans but also some non-human species of animal have conscious perception. Which species have consciousness and how the subjective experience of various species could differ is being investigated by Professor Albert Newen and PhD student Leonard Dung from the Institute for Philosophy II at Ruhr University Bochum. To do this, they characterise consciousness with ten different dimensions and work out which behaviours indicate the presence of each of these consciousness dimensions. They describe their approach in the academic journal Cognition, published online on 21 February 2023. Consciousness is not like a light switch There is a debate within research as to which animals have consciousness. There are also various views as to how consciousness can be expressed. "According to one view,...

Zelensky's comic insults... gimme HIMARS, tanks, F-16s and now America's sons & daughters Signs of the Times

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky sparked indignation and outrage this week with his grim warning that America's sons and daughters will end up fighting and dying if Russia is not defeated in Ukraine. His presumptuous comments were made at a press conference on February 24 but only gained notoriety this week, provoking howls of derision and disgust. The reckless insanity of the war in Ukraine - and the catastrophe it is leading to - has become unbearable. U.S. politicians - mainly on the Republican side - as well as ordinary citizens have become rightly alarmed by the blank-check policy of the Biden administration to prop up the Kiev regime with up to $100 billion in military and financial support over the past year. There is growing public anger both in the United States and across the European Union with the bottomless pit of money that governments have unaccountably reached into and thrown at Ukraine. Western states have increasingly escalated the war with supplies of...

The Valdai meeting: Where West Asia meets multipolarity Signs of the Times

At Russia's Valdai Club meeting - the east's answer to Davos - intellectuals and influencers gathered to frame West Asia's current and future developments. The 12th "Middle East Conference" at the Valdai Club in Moscow offered a more than welcome cornucopia of views on interconnected troubles and tribulations affecting the region. But first, an important word on terminology - as only one of Valdai's guests took the trouble to stress. This is not the "Middle East" - a reductionist, Orientalist notion devised by old colonials: at The Cradle we emphasize the region must be correctly described as West Asia. Some of the region's trials and tribulations have been mapped by the official Valdai report, The Middle East and The Future of Polycentric World. But the intellectual and political clout of those in attendance can provide valuable anecdotal insights too. Here are a few of the major strands participants highlighted on regional developments, current and future: Russian Deputy Foreign...

Saving Faucis Life? Dissident Voice

Theres a disturbing dynamic that occurs on every Manhattan street corner virtually every minute of every day. By simply watching the typical New York City pedestrian as they reach the corner at a red light, you get a pretty good idea of what its like to deal with an overcrowded, rancorous metropolitan area on a daily basis. No one waits on the sidewalk.

Even if a thousand cars are racing by, practically every single New Yorker insists on stepping a few steps out into the street while waiting for the light to change. Theyll even go as far as squeezing themselves past other impatient street-crossers just to get to the front of the pack.

We are so hyped up, so overstressed, and so programmed to do everything quickly that we cant even endure waiting 30 seconds for a traffic light. Well risk death by stepping off the curb in order to get a head start when the light turns green.

Green Death: Love in a Time of Green Pornography Dissident Voice

Source: Oxford Learners Dictionaries

I was calling it many variations on the theme, greenwashing, many many propagandistic things, like green-scamming, green-sheening, and eco-porn. Here, a 1992 article, man, so long long ago, almost forgotten :

Eco-pornography is the advertising of a product as environmentally friendly, when in fact, some unmentioned aspect of the product (or its production and distribution) has notably deleterious effects on the environment. Ecological impact is such a difficult thing to define in terms of the processes of production (as further discussed below), one is hesitant to single out specific corporations as ecopomographers, lest they be unfairly vilified, but it might be informative to mention some egregious examples of false environmental advertising.

According to Bob Garfield, ad critic for Advertising Age Weekly, the most offensive environmental advertisement is a General Motors corporate ad in which [the company is] congratulating America for 20 years of environmental progress. After spending three decades doing everything in [its] power to weaken, inhibit, and delay environmental legislation, this ad is arguably misleading. General Motors is not the only auto manufacturer guilty of greenwash. Adweek chose a Toyota commercial in which a young woman lauds recycling and her Toyota in the same breath, as one of the worst advertisements of 1990. Said Adweek, The only Earth-minded tie-inis the womans declaration that, until she can save the world, shell buy a Tercel and save money. (source)

This all seems pretty mild, some 32 years later. It is the driving concept of an Al Gore in his 10,000 square foot mansion flying around the world in private jets, going to Davos and the World Economic Forum and COP#Infinity, lecturing us, we the people, on why Styrofoam and regular lightbulbs are bad bad bad. Well, darn, he has several mansions, one in Tennessee and then one in California: Al Gores California home consumes more electricity in 1 year than the average US family uses in 21 years.

Halifax Schools Anti-Palestinian Racism Dissident Voice

During a cross-cultural activity, a Park West School in Halifax forced Palestinian-Canadian students to remove the Kufiyahs they had worn as part of the activity. The principle justified banning the kufiyah (Palestinian scarf) saying it represented war colors. Students who did not comply were sent to the principals office. Such anti-Palestinian racism must be rejected: the school and the school board must publicly apologize and adopt a zero-tolerance policy on anti-Palestinian racism through their equity frameworks.

More info

According to its own website, Park West School is located in one of the most densely populated part of metro Halifax, with one of the most ethnically diverse populations, and is one of the most multicultural schools east of Montreal. Its website also boasts of...
