Universities and the death of merit Signs of the Times

The screengrab above is from a job advertisement for a senior academic role at a mid-ranking UK university (to which I have no connection), paying a maximum salary of around 63,000 a year. (For context, the median full-time salary in the UK is approximately 33,000.) British universities frequently advertise a commitment to the Athena SWAN Charter, which is a set of ten principles designed to promote and support equality between genders in institutions of higher education, and which allocates bronze, silver and gold awards on application by such institutions. That universities should remove barriers that unfairly prevent employees from achieving their full potential is a project that almost anybody can get behind - even if we recognise that there is a certain amount of rent-seeking going on whenever a body sets itself up to give out industry awards of this kind. But explicitly adopting an 'inclusive recruitment process' for the furtherance of equality between men and women in...

China US Claimed Territory One China Policy Armstrong Economics

QUESTION:  Chinas claimed territory??? So China can claim the entire Pacific as their territory and that means we cant enter the Pacific???
DF
ANSWER: Whatever China claims is really irrelevant. Up until recently, we did not push the limits and China did not expand its claims. We all agreed to disagree but took no action. In this case, Beijings claim of its territorial waters in the South China Sea near the Paracel Islands does not comply with international law.
Nevertheless, the real question is what has changed? You can support war all you want, but remember, this time it will be different. The Neocons are smart. Wrap whatever they do in the American flag and people will die for their claims as well. Wars are created by the elites, not the common people. We also need to examine who is doing what for whatever you thought you were creating for your future and that of your family will exist no more. Everything is changing.
You must understand the language of diplomacy. It may seem irrelevant but it is very critical. The point is that we seem to be deliberately provoking confrontation which is strange and we are abandoning the statement on the One China Policy which has actually protected Taiwan. Before the Neocons seized the White House, there was...

STEVE appears over Bozeman, Montana during most intense geomagnetic storm in nearly 6 years Signs of the Times

Steve Quayle is a friend of mine who helps me a lot in my life and online. Thank you! On March 23-24, during an unexpected G4 severe geomagnetic storm - the most intense in nearly 6 years - not every light in the sky was the aurora borealis. There was also STEVE... And the mysterious sky phenomenon appeared just over Steve Quayle's hometown: Bozeman, Montana. This is no coincidence! This is a divine tribute! STEVE (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement) looks like an aurora, but it is not. The phenomenon is caused by hot (3000C) ribbons of gas flowing through Earth's magnetosphere at speeds exceeding 6 km/s (13,000 mph). These ribbons appear during strong geomagnetic storms, revealing themselves by their soft purple glow.

Valdai director: The West's standoff with Russia and China is a big opportunity for the world's second-tier powers Signs of the Times

With the US distracted by its attempts to "contain" Moscow and Beijing, other players have a window of freedom We can argue all we like about how the new international order will look but one thing is clear: it will not resemble any previous incarnation. History does not tend to repeat itself, which always means that recourse to historical analogies remains a sign of intellectual unpreparedness for contemporary events. It's the same today - any attempt to find a firm basis for comparison between the past and the processes and phenomena of international life that we currently observe is inevitably confronted with convincing arguments as to why this or that analogy is not appropriate. It was even difficult in the past, when the main issue was the changing power capabilities of a relatively small group of states. It is all the more impossible to find examples now, in a completely changed international context. And it is very likely that paying attention to the context will help us to...

Kremlin spokeswoman Maria Zakharova exposes CNN 'reporter' as propagandist CNN would fire if he weren't Signs of the Times

This CNN reporter, Frederik Pleitgen, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, on 16 June 2022, challenged Russia's press spokesperson Maria Zakharova, by saying that "This is a rules-based forum for the whole world," referring there to the U.S. regime's self-created "rules" instead of to existing international laws, but then he abruptly switched to alleging that Russia's invasion of Ukraine "is a violation of international law." She documented that it is not. In the process, and in response to Pleitgen's follow-ups, Pleitgen displayed not only ignorance of the history that had led up to and produced this invasion, but he rejected the very idea that the history that had left Russia no realistic alternative to invading after, on 7 January 2022, both the United States and NATO said, in response to Russia's 17 December 2022 formal presentation of their base-line essential national-security demands, which included a promise that Ukraine not be allowed into NATO, not only no,...

Why hypersonic missiles DO actually matter Signs of the Times

I recently had the misfortune to read an article on CNN entitled: What to know about hypersonic missiles fired by Russia at Ukraine I say "misfortune" because clearly, the individual who wrote it was trying very hard to downplay the significance of hypersonic weapons in the hands of the USA's declared adversary - aka Russia. The above-mentioned article is actually an extended earlier article (now missing) was even worse - for both its purely propagandistic nature, as well as the author's breathtaking display of simple ignorance regarding the subject matter of his article. But, whatever. So let's take a look at hypersonic missiles...

At least 14 people have been killed in southern Somalia after torrential rains triggered flash floods that have caused havoc in several towns and villages. Bridges, roads and houses have been damaged or destroyed and many people have been forced to flee their homes in search of safer ground. In the town of Baardhere in Jubaland state, 14 people were killed including three members of the same family, district commissioner Mohamed Weli Yusuf told reporters. "Most of the casualties were caused after the victims were trapped across a bridge in the town Thursday evening which was swept up in the floods," he said.

Coyote injures 2 toddlers in separate attacks in Scottsdale, Arizona Signs of the Times

Arizona officials are searching for a large coyote that reportedly injured two toddlers in separate attacks in Scottsdale this week. Kelly Pirozzi told ABC News she was standing in her driveway on Wednesday when the coyote approached and bit her 21-month-old son on the arm in a shocking moment caught on her surveillance camera. The coyote knocked the toddler down, and once the boy started crying, the animal released his arm from its grip, Pirozzi said. She then rushed her son into the house. Pirozzi said he's OK and only suffered minor bite marks. "It happened so quickly," she said.

Meteor fireball over the Mediterranean Sea (March 21) Signs of the Times

This video shows a gorgeous bolide recorded on March 21, at 22:14 local time (equivalent to 21:14 universal time). The fireball was observed by a wide number of casual eyewitnesses, who reported it on social networks. The event was generated by a rock (a meteoroid) from an asteroid that hit the atmosphere at about 69,000 km/h. The fireball overflew Spain and the Mediterranean Sea. It began at an altitude of about 86 km over the Mediterranean Sea, moved northwest, and ended at a height of around 40 km over Hinojar (province of Murcia). This bright meteor was recorded in the framework of the SMART project, operated by the Southwestern Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN) from the meteor-observing stations located at La Hita (Toledo), Calar Alto, Sierra Nevada, La Sagra (Granada), and Sevilla. The event has been analyzed by the principal investigator of the SMART project: Dr. Jose M. Madiedo, from the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC).

Why Manhattan DA's hush money case against Trump doesn't look sexy anymore Signs of the Times

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's "hush money" case against Donald Trump is bursting at the seams, with US legal experts ridiculing the DA's effort to put the former president behind bars, and some Democratic lawmakers warning against using the US court system as a pawn in a political game. Last Saturday, former President Donald Trump signaled that he could be arrested on March 21 in connection with an ongoing investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg concerning Trump's alleged 2016 payment of $130,000 in hush money to adult movie star Stormy Daniels. Trump's announcement triggered a lively debate, with US conservatives lambasting Bragg for pushing what they called a heavily politicized case. The potential indictment, mentioned by Trump, should have followed a series of testimonies by former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, a disbarred lawyer and convicted felon who turned against his former client. While many saw Cohen as Bragg's future "star witness" in a...

New experiment translates quantum information between technologies in an important step for the quantum internet Signs of the Times

Researchers have discovered a way to "translate" quantum information between different kinds of quantum technologies, with significant implications for quantum computing, communication, and networking. The research was published in the journal Nature on Wednesday. It represents a new way to convert quantum information from the format used by quantum computers to the format needed for quantum communication. Photons particles of light are essential for quantum information technologies, but different technologies use them at different frequencies. For example, some of the most common quantum computing technology is based on superconducting qubits, such as those used by tech giants Google and IBM; these qubits store quantum information in photons that move at microwave frequencies. But if you want to build a quantum network, or connect quantum computers, you can't send around microwave photons because their grip on their quantum information is too weak to survive the trip.

Bank bailout could cost Swiss taxpayers billions Signs of the Times

Switzerland's decision to rescue failing investment bank Credit Suisse could be a major burden for the nation's taxpayers, according to Bloomberg calculations. The Swiss government has pledged to absorb 9 billion Swiss francs ($9.7 billion) of the bank's losses and provide a 100 billion-franc ($108 billion) public liquidity backstop from the Swiss National Bank (SNB). This means that each resident out of Switzerland's 8.7 million population will pay 12,500 francs ($13,500) for the bank's rescue, Bloomberg noted. The deal also mentions a separate guarantee of 100 billion francs from the Swiss central bank that isn't backed by the government. Adding the 50 billion-franc loan from the SNB which the bank secured last week, the total sum of the rescue will top 259 billion francs ($280 billion), which is equivalent to about a third of Switzerland's entire economic output in 2022. The amount will make the deal Switzerland's largest ever corporate rescue, far surpassing the 60...

Dozens of families damaged by AstraZeneca jab launch legal fight Signs of the Times

Dozens of patients and families whose lives have been damaged by extremely rare reactions to the Oxford/AstraZeneca covid vaccine have launched legal action against the pharmaceutical company. While the vaccine is widely credited with protecting many millions of people from the virus, 81 patients died and 364 suffered severe reactions, some of them resulting in catastrophic injuries as a result of blood clots caused by the jab. Legal action is now being taken against AstraZeneca by the families of 19 people who died after being vaccinated and 54 patients who suffered severe reactions but survived. Strokes, paralysis and repeated blood clots are among the symptoms of those who suffered very rare but severe reactions to the vaccine. Many have gone from being fit and healthy to being left struggling to walk and talk, with little hope of getting better. Comment: Severe reactions to the covid vaccines are anything but rare. This is the case moreso with mRNA "vaccines" although we may...

Parrot's big mouth gets Indian men life sentences Signs of the Times

Two men have been sentenced to life in prison in India for a 2014 killing that was reportedly solved thanks in part to the dead woman's pet parrot, which is believed to have witnessed the murder. Special Judge Mohammed Rashid sentenced Ashu Sharma and Ronnie Massey to life in prison plus a fine of 72,000 rupees ($874) on Thursday based on evidence collected after Sharma confessed to killing his aunt, Neelam Sharma, with the help of his friend. The pair entered the victim's home in Agra on February 20, 2014, when her husband was away at a wedding with their children. They stabbed her 14 times and even stabbed her pet dog nine times, Neelam's daughter Nivedita Sharma told India Today. Her cousin had intended to "kill and loot," she explained, as he knew where the couple stored their cash and jewelry, having visited his aunt's house many times and even stayed there for years. Her father Vijay had even given his nephew 80,000 rupees ($972) toward an MBA degree.

Has the US Gone to DEFCON 3? Armstrong Economics

NATO has effectively declared war on Russia hiding behind Ukrainian surrogates. Ukraine launched new versions of their marine drones in an attempt to sink the Russian Fleet base in Sevastopol. They were blown up just before hitting Russian ships as the Russians managed to intercept them. The Russians know that these attacks are carried out under NATO directives. Meanwhile, NATO has sent 300,000 troops to the border in Poland with Russia. They are strategically placed and could launch an invasion of Russia, which has been the plan all along. In Asia, the US routinely invades Chinas claimed territory in the South China Sea simply claiming the US does not recognize Chinas territorial border.

The US Administration has launched its early warning nuclear missile detection vessels from Pearl Harbor. The Neocons have been pushing for war very hard and the launching of these ships indicates that we are heading into a major nuclear crisis which may be up there with the 1962 Cubas Missle Crisis which by next year will be 2x Pi 62 years ago. These Neocons have no interest in the nation, or the people, only their dream of destroying Russia and China and forcing Regime Change. They have pushed for endless wars and have NEVER won a single one so far. Their track record is horrible. But they have seized full control of the Biden White House.

Why Bank Bailout of Depositos is Critical Armstrong Economics

QUESTION: Hi. I do not understand why you keep advocating over and over how the depositors should be bailed out over 250k. It makes no sense from a moral hazard perspective. It is fact that should they do that, in spite of depositors signing agreements acknowledging that deposits over 250k would not be guaranteed, the Fed will also need to cancel all outstanding debt instruments, whose borrowers also signed an agreement that if they dont pay they lose the asset. The moral hazard is so severe as to bloody the eyes. Why do you keep endorsing the bailout which will have to be at least initially funded by taxpayers even if they get the money back? The money to shore up bank reserves in exchange for collateral has to come from somewhere. What is the real fear, that people will move deposits direct to T-bills and in so doing, set up funding for a US CBDC? Please address the moral hazard aspect of your position. So far, Ive heard nothing to defend the immorality of it.

FO
ANSWER: Do not confuse a bank depositor with (1) an investor in a fund, or (2) bank shareholders & Management. A bank depositor is NOT an investor. The $250k is by NO MEANS sufficient for small businesses. They need to keep large amounts on hand for payroll etc. You do business and accept credit cards and they deposit that into your bank account.

Bank depositors are unsophisticated average people. The sophisticated investor moves their, money to a hedge fund or money market fund and fully understands that there is a risk associated with that investment. The bank depositor accepts no risk on any investment the bank makes. It does not give them, a piece of their profits. That goes to shareholders. It is a bailout of the entity and thus the shareholders which presents the moral hazard perspective.

If deposits in excess of $250 are NOT covered, you wipe out small businesses, they cannot pay employees and the ripple effect will be the total destruction of the entire economy. Your house will become worthless for its value will drop to only what someon...

Shares of Germany's largest lender plunge over distrust in EU bank sector and fears of contagion Signs of the Times

Stocks of Germany's Deutsche and Commerzbank fell sharply on Friday over investors' fear over the health of the European banking sector. Deutsche Bank shares plummeted over 14% on early trade on Friday as borrowing costs surged over increased financial risks following the collapse of major banks in the past few weeks, spreading heightened fear over the future of the banking sector, AFP reported. The stock value of Germany's biggest lender rebounded almost 6 percent on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, closing at 8.54 euros. The cost of the bank's debt insurance against default risk fell as investors' trust in the financial sector dropped. The collapse of US' SVB and two other banks, in addition to the chaotic takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS - enforced by the Swiss government - left markets in turmoil.

Fire reveals Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral was historical first in using iron reinforcements in the 12th century Signs of the Times

The Notre-Dame de Paris is the first known cathedral of Gothic-style architecture to be initially constructed with extensive use of iron to bind stones together. The 2019 fire that significantly damaged the cathedral enabled analyses leading to this discovery, by Maxime L'Hritier of Universit Paris 8, France and colleagues, who present these findings in PLOS ONE on March 15, 2023. At the time of its construction in the mid-12th century, Notre-Dame was the tallest building ever erected, reaching a height of 32 meters. Previous research suggests that this record was made possible by combining a number of architectural innovations. However, despite extensive use of iron reinforcements in more recent cathedrals and in efforts to restore old buildings, it has been unclear what role iron might have played in Notre-Dame's initial construction.

Biden irked by Kamala Harris not 'rising to occasion' or taking 'anything off his plate' Signs of the Times

Two former White House officials said President Biden is frustrated with Vice President Kamala Harris' performance even if he remains committed to keeping her as his running mate in the 2024 election, a new report reveals. The 80-year-old Biden, who has gone out of his way to praise Harris in recent public remarks, reportedly has griped about his No. 2's reluctance to take on risky assignments. One former White House official told Reuters: "A point of tension in their relationship is that I don't think that the president sees her as somebody who takes anything off of his plate" due to a "fear of messing up. If he did not think she was capable, he would not have picked her. But it is a question of consistently rising to the occasion. Where the $1.3 trillion per year U.S. Military budget goes Signs of the Times

Nobody can give a precise dollar-number to U.S. 'Defense' spending because the U.S. 'Defense' Department has never been able to pass an audit, and is by far the most corrupt of all federal Departments (and is the ONLY Department that has never passed an audit), and also because much of America's military spending is being paid out from other federal Departments in order to keep down the published annual U.S. Government 'Defense' expenditure numbers (which come from ONLY the U.S. 'Defense' Department). Those are expenditures for America's privatized and overwhelmingly profit-driven Military-Industrial Complex. (By contrast: Russia and China require, by law, that their armaments-firms be majority-owned by the Government itself.) According to the best available estimates, the U.S. Government has been spending, in total, for over a decade now, around $1.3T to $1.5T annually on 'defense', and this is around half of all military spending worldwide by all 200-or-so nations, and is more...

Ukrainian special forces getting military targets from CIA satellite Signs of the Times

Soldiers of Ukraine's 'Thor' special operations group are using satellite data provided by the CIA to choose targets when conducting drone strikes against Russian forces, the unit's commander told The Times. The 27-man group, which is formally a police special operations unit, functions independently from the Ukrainian army and works in close collaboration with the country's military intelligence, the GUR, which provides them with ammunition and intel. According to The Times, the unit has complete license to select its missions, where it barracks and when it fights. Lancet pushes dangerous theory that people are worth no more than rats Signs of the Times

There are various degrees of acceptable insanity, but in general you would not want a person who thought a toad had the same intrinsic value as your mother to manage her Alzheimer's disease. You would not want a person who equated the value of your daughter with that of a rat to decide whether she be injected with medicine still under trial, such as an mRNA vaccine. Or perhaps you would, as you may agree with the Lancet editorial in January 2023 that equates these, insisting: "All life is equal, and of equal concern." Whatever value system you apply to other humans, it is important to understand that international public health is currently dominated by such rhetoric, if not such thinking. This will greatly influence society and your health for the next few decades. The Lancet is one of the most influential international medical journals. The above passage is not taken out of context. The editorial recommends we change the way society is managed: Taking a fundamentally different...

Lebanon Was Not Given a Deadline by The IMF To Implement Reforms Blog Baladi

A delegation from the International Monetary Fund concluded its visit to Lebanon on March 23 and issued a statement summing up its mission & pointing out the parties responsible for hindering financial recovery.

These parties include the Central Bank for increasing liquidity in Lebanese pounds and encouraging speculation, the parliament for not passing the required Banking Secrecy and Capital Control laws, the government for adopting multiple and unrealistic exchange rates in its budget and the banks of course for refusing to acknowledge their losses and prioritizing the protection of small depositors.

The IMF Mission Chief to Lebanon Ernesto Rigo warned that Lebanon is in a very dangerous situation and that it will be mired in a never-ending crisis without implementing rapid reforms.

Nevertheless, the IMF did not give a deadline for Lebanon to implement these reforms, and the Lebanese authorities dont seem too adamant to move on with an IMF deal as it will expose their decades-long theft and corruption. Why would the Lebanese state even consider dealing with the IMF when they continue to steal whatever is left at the Central Bank and put aside every dollar we get from abroad? Why would they do anything differently when people continue to vote for them?

The real danger is not the crumbling economy or the fragile banks, but the Lebanese people who would rather stay loyal to his sectarian leader than vote him out and fight for change. Until this mentality changes, theres no hope for reforms.

On a final note, if the IMF and the international community are serious about helping Lebanon, they should stop giving the same politicians who ruined the country second chances. Macrons visit and threats backfired and strengthened the ruling parties and the IMF not giving deadlines is not helping as well.

China Denounces US TikTok Ban Threat as xenophobic witch hunt, Firmly Opposes Possible Forced Sale Dissident Voice

WASHINGTON, DC MARCH 23: TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew prepares to testify before the House Energy and Commerce Committee in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill on March 23, 2023 in Washington, DC. The hearing was a rare opportunity for lawmakers to question the leader of the short-form social media video app about the companys relationship with its Chinese owner, ByteDance, and how they handle users sensitive personal data. Some local, state and federal government agencies have been banning use of TikTok by employees, citing concerns about national security (Photo by Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images)

The US TikTok hearing is politically manipulated to cover its real purpose of robbing the profitable firm from China, which reflects the US mounting hegemony and bullying against firms with Chinese background, experts said on Friday, noting the US witch-hunting against TikTok portends US technological innovation is going downhill and the political farce against a tiny app has seriously shattered the US values of fair competition and its credibility.

The US House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing on Thursday (US time) titled, TikTok: How Congress can safeguard American data privacy and protect children from online harms.

While US lawmakers acted like they are pursuing a solution on how to ensure data security, the hearing turned out to be a political show that was designed to smear an international firm that has Chinese background and cover up its real purpose of stealing the firm from its Chinese parent, experts said.

Whether it ends up killing TikTok or forcibly taking the child out of its parent ByteDances arms, it is one of the ugliest scenes of the 21st century in high-tech competition, they said. Your platform should be banned, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers said as she started the hearing, claiming that the app has ties with Chinese government.

During the roughly five-hour  hearing, CEO Shou Zi Chews attempts to illustrate TikToks business operations wer...

Australian deep state 'DE-BANKS' citizen journalist Signs of the Times

What's happened to Maria Zee is a sign of what's in store for all of us. In Soviet Russia and Maoist China, communism was a government affair. If you were reported by a colleague or family member as expressing beliefs contrary to the ideology of the state, or complaining about the lack of potatoes in the shops, you would be hauled in for questioning. Generally, you were a goner unless you dobbed in someone else for real or imaginary crimes against the Party, or turned informant. Files released after the fall of the Berlin Wall showed one in six East Germans were informants on their family, friends and neighbours. Just as we didn't get class Marxism but instead identity Marxism in the West, we haven't got government communism, either. Not in the same way as the Eurasian nations had it last century. The protections for citizens' rights in liberal democratic states proved too strong. Instead, in the West, communism got privatised. The Marxists evolved, like a virus; they put on suits...

Eminent Oxford scientist says wind power "fails on every count" Signs of the Times

It could be argued that the basic arithmetic showing wind power is an economic and societal disaster in the making should be clear to a bright primary school child. Now the Oxford University mathematician and physicist, researcher at CERN and Fellow of Keble College, Emeritus Professor Wade Allison has done the sums. The U.K. is facing the likelihood of a failure in the electricity supply, he concludes. "Wind power fails on every count," he says, adding that governments are ignoring "overwhelming evidence" of the inadequacies of wind power, "and resorting to bluster rather than reasoned analysis". Professor Allison's dire warnings are contained in a short paper recently published by the Global Warming Policy Foundation. He notes that the energy provided by the Sun is "extremely weak", which is why it was unable to provide the energy to sustain even a small global population before the Industrial Revolution with an acceptable standard of living. A similar point was made recently in...

BEST OF THE WEB: This Stupid Virus Signs of the Times

I've been sitting on this train of thought for a while. I can't tell if it's crazy or not, so I've hesitated to write it up. But I can't quite dismiss this scenario out of hand, either. So be warned. Dot-connecting schizopost incoming. Now that the dust has settled from Corona, no one much wants to talk about it anymore. The normies who all went full Jonestown along with the Branch Covidians seem quietly embarrassed and reluctant to broach the subject, lest others be reminded of their rabid enthusiasm for masks, lockdowns, and forcing experimental gene therapies into children's arms. Likely some degree of growing disquiet over what they allowed into their cells plays a role there, too. The people who drove the normies mad in the first place especially don't want to dwell on the doom coof, lest they draw attention to their menticidal war crimes. Even the conspiracy theorists aren't terribly interested in talking about it, out of sheer exhaustion with the topic if nothing else. We've...

Bravo! Italians refuse to 'eat ze bugs' Signs of the Times

Our WEF overlords may want us to 'eat ze bugs' and be happy, but Italians are having none of it, as their Government has banned the use of insect flour in pizza and pasta. The Times has more: The growing use in cooking of flour made from crickets, locusts and insect larvae has met fierce opposition in Italy, where the Government is to ban its use in pizza and pasta and segregate it on supermarket shelves. In a sign of fear that insects might be associated with Italian cuisine, three Government ministers called a press conference in Rome to announce four decrees aimed at a crackdown. "It's fundamental that these flours are not confused with food made in Italy," Francesco Lollobrigida, the agriculture minister, said. Packed with vitamins, proteins and minerals, flour made from crickets is increasingly seen as an ecological way to obtain nutrients, and the market is forecast to reach $3.5 billion by 2029. The EU has already authorised foods made from crickets, locusts and the darkling...

Top official says Pentagon diversity officer won't face discipline for anti-white tweets Signs of the Times

The Pentagon does not have plans to discipline an employee who was the Department of Defense's chief officer of diversity, equity, and inclusion for their anti-white tweets that have come under fire from Republican lawmakers, according to a top DOD official. Kelisa Wing, the employee who has been found to have a history of tweets critical of white people, has been reassigned to a different role, Gilbert Cisneros Jr., undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness in the Biden administration, wrote in a Tuesday letter to House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY). However, Wing has not faced discipline despite the DOD's determination that the employee was "speaking in a personal capacity," Cisneros, who was grilled by Republicans on Thursday during a House Armed Services Committee, added. "I do agree that that is not acceptable," Cisneros said in the hearing. "It's not something that I would condone, and it's not condoned by [Department of Defense Education...

Iraq War 20 years on... Collective western amnesia over Anglo-American crime of century Signs of the Times

This week, March 20, saw the 20th anniversary of the U.S.-British war launched on Iraq. The war resulted in over one million deaths and a decade of brutal military occupation. It spawned sectarian civil war, millions of displaced and destitute, and terrorism that engulfed the entire Middle East, as well as large swathes of Africa and Asia. Iraq and several other ancient nations have been destroyed because of the Anglo-American war. And it was a war based on flagrant American and British lies over alleged Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. The 20th anniversary of the U.S.-British war on Iraq, which was also supported by NATO partners, should be an occasion for proper accounting with Nuremberg-standard war crimes prosecutions of American and British political and military figures. Persons such as George W Bush, the former U.S. President, and Tony Blair, the ex-British premier, should be facing jail time for capital crimes. The current U.S. President Joe Biden should also be in the...

Psychological Operations in Guerrilla Warfare by Tayacn, Report dated October 18, 1984 The Black Vault

This document, released by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), serves as a guide for psychological operations (PSYOP) in guerrilla warfare. The primary focus is on how to leverage psychological tactics to influence and control the population and enemy forces during an insurgency. The guide outlines the importance of understanding the target audience, establishing credibility, and utilizing propaganda to promote the guerrilla movements objectives. Additionally, it highlights the role of armed propaganda teams in executing these operations.

The authorship of Psychological Operations in Guerrilla Warfare by Tayacn is not definitively known, and the name Tayacn is likely a pseudonym. The document has been attributed to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and it was released to the public under the Freedom of Information Act. The guide is believed to have been produced to aid insurgents, particularly during the Cold War era, when the United States and other Western countries were supporting various guerrilla movements against Communist regimes. The identity of Tayacn remains unclear, but the document is still a valuable resource for understanding the strategic use of psychological operations in guerrilla warfare.

Key Highlights:
  1. The guide emphasizes the importance of intelligence gathering and analysis for effective PSYOP, which includes understanding the enemys strengths and weaknesses, as well as the social and political environment in the area of operations.
  2. The document explains that PSYOP should be tailored to the target audience, using cultural and linguistic nuances to maximize its impact.
  3. It outlines various tactics, such as rumor campaigns, psychological pressure, and the use of mass communication channels to disseminate propaganda and control public opinion.
  4. The guide highlights the importance of credibility and consistency in messaging to ensure the success of psychological operations.

Imran Khan, a Zionist Army Chief, and Pakistan-Israel Normalization Dissident Voice

Historical Precedent

While many base Pakistans enmity towards Israel on the latters post-1948 transgressions such as occupying Gaza and West Bank, military incursions in Gaza, ethnic cleansing of Arabs, building unlawful Israeli settlements, and innumerable other events, this is an incomplete story. Pakistans opposition to Israel can be traced back to Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, two of Pakistans founders, when the two nations were nonexistent.

Mr. Iqbal, Mr. Jinnah, and their political party worked selflessly toward the cause of Palestine after World War I, despite chasing the dream of Pakistan. They sent Indian Muslim delegations to aid with the Palestine question, built anti-British/Zionist momentum through scathing letters and speeches, passed countless resolutions for Palestine, organized Palestine Days, and started a Palestine Fund for Arab victims et cetera. They did so much, that on several occasions even the Grand Mufti of Palestine acknowledged their efforts.

Pakistans Current Situation

After the Abraham Accords in 2020, the Middle Easts already waning anger toward Israel dissolved further. In a shock move Oman, UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan, recognized Israel. There were similar murmurings of Saudi Arabia being next as it was not possible for UAE, Bahrain, and Oman to recognize Israel without big brother Saudi Arabias blessing.

While in office, Pakistans ex-PM Imran Khan verified that he was fighting enormous exogenous pressures to recognize Israel. One of the nations placing such pressures, he asserted, was America, yet he abstained from referencing the other countries. However, he did note that they were close allies of Pakistan, which many perceived as Saudi Arabia and UAE. Imran Khans position on the Palestine issue, aptly, reflected that of Pakistans founders as...

American Labor: Prospects and Possibilities Dissident Voice

Starbucks workers at over 100 sites greeted Spring and the companys new CEO by walking off the job. Some pundits hail this action as a reflection of labors growing new strength. Public approval of unions is at a fifty year high, petitions for union elections are on the upswing, and the recent well-publicized organizing victories at Trader Joes, Amazon, outdoor outfitter REI, and almost 300 Starbucks stores, among others. suggest that unions are on the rise. But glowing reports of the resurgence of the American labor movement are premature. The organizing efforts by Starbucks workers illustrate the many obstacles produced by corporate animus toward unions and hostile labor laws. In contrast, many other American labor activists have sought to avoid the strictures of labor law by taking their case directly to the streets and state legislatures, while European labor offers an entirely different model for securing workers rights sectoral bargaining.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz insists hes not an anti-union person. Growing up in a Brooklyn housing project, he says he understands the working class. He believes that unions have a place in companies that the lack worker-friendly environs of Starbucks, which, he contends, offers the best possible workplace for his so-called partners. Instead of helping workers, American labor law gives CEOs like Schultz the tools for keeping unions out. Workers who want a union must first convince co-workers to petition the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for a union certification election. Once 30% of workers sign the petition, the NLRB sets a time and place for the election. Starbucks relies on its union busting law firm of Littler-Mendelson to tie the union up in court for months, if not years. A typical first step is to challenge categories of workers included in the bargaining unit. For instance, the Taft-Hartley Act excludes supervisors and independent contractors from union coverage. Other legal avenues exist for Starbucks to obstruct unionization. While union backers can organize only on break-time or outside the workplace, Starbucks can wage its anti-union campaign twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by distributing anti-union literature, forcing workers to attend anti-union meetings, and compelling workers to watch anti-union videos. Starbucks can, and does, threaten store closings too, and when the threats dont work, store closings do.

In addition to legal anti-union activities, Starbucks, like other anti-union companies, frequently violates labor laws. The New York Times reported that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has filed 81 unfair labor practice charges and over 500 complaints against Starbucks for violations of federal labor laws, including illegally disciplining or firing workers for their union activities. Recently, a federal judge in Michigan ordered Starbucks to stop the firings and paved the way for the NLRB to reinstate workers fired f...

Naked eye aurora australis visible from Franklin, Tasmania on the night of 23/3/2023. All the colours visible in this footage were visible to the naked eye, which is extremely rare for Aurora. The Terrorist Forefathers of Israel: The Irgun and Lehi Dissident Voice

To the unbiased eye, Israels true colors are not obfuscated due to its innumerable crimes against the Palestinians whether in the form of innocent Gazans being killed or the proliferation of illegal settlements in the West Bank. It is interesting to note that the state of Israel and the IDFs (Israel Defence Forces) terrorist proclivities are nothing new instead, they are rooted in the ideologies and actions of Jewish pre-independence terror groups, the Irgun and Lehi. The article describes the Irgun and Lehis origins, sheds light on their gruesome terrorist undertakings in Palestine, and then concludes with how their extremist legacy has been kept alive via the actions of the state of Israel.

The Irgun and Lehi

The Haganah was a paramilitary group active between 1920-1948 to protect Jews from Arab attacks and rioting. Poorly organized and composed mainly of farmers in its infancy, the group became better equipped and structured after the 1929 riots as well as the 1936-1939 Arab revolt. Until the end of WWII, the Haganah was moderate in its approach according to its policy of havlaga (self-restraint). The group was ordered not to attack Arabs indiscriminately and cooperated heavily with the British security forces in Mandatory Palestine. Such moderation, however, irked some members of the group which later led to splintering and the creation of the more indiscriminately violent Irgun (or Etzel) and Lehi (or Stern Gang).

Akin to many militant organizations, the Irgun evolved from a rudimentary group to a proper fighting force over time complete with a chain of command. The Irgun was formed by Zeev Jabotinsky, a Revisionist Zionism leader. Throughout the years it also battled an inward ideological tug of war i.e. the debate of self-restraint versus actively attacking the Arabs and British.

In response to dissatisfaction with Britains governance, Zionist land purchases, dispossession, and debt, the...

Banking Crisis 3.0: Time to Change the Rules of the Game Dissident Voice

On CNN March 14, Roger Altman, a former deputy Treasury secretary in the Clinton administration, said that American banks were on the verge of being nationalized:

What the authorities did over the weekend was absolutely profound. They guaranteed the deposits, all of them, at Silicon Valley Bank. What that really means is that they have guaranteed the entire deposit base of the U.S. financial system. The entire deposit base. Why? Because you cant guarantee all the deposits in Silicon Valley Bank and then the next day say to the depositors, say, at First Republic, sorry, yours arent guaranteed. Of course they are.

So this is a breathtaking step which effectively nationalizes or federalizes the deposit base of the U.S. financial system.

The deposit base of the financial system has not actually been nationalized, but Congress is considering modifications to the FDIC insurance limit. Meanwhile, one state that does not face those problems is North Dakota, where its state-owned bank acts as a mini-Fed for the state. But first, a closer look at the issues.

Bail In, Bail Out, or Socialism for the Rich?

On Friday, March 10, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) was put into receivership by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The FDIC announced that deposits over the $250,000 insurance limit would get an advance dividend within the next week, and would receive a receivership certificate for the rest of the funds. Most of the depositors were venture-backed startups that needed to keep large deposits in the bank to meet payroll and pay suppliers, and over 95% of the deposits were uninsured and at risk of being lost. It was basically a bail in of the uninsured deposits, which would be recoverable only if funds were available after the banks assets had been sold.

But that arrangement lasted only two days. On March 12, Signature Bank was put into receivership; and the FDIC, Treasury and Federal Reserve jointly announced that all of the deposits at the two banks, not just those under the insurance limit, would be available for withdrawal on demand.

At a Senate Finance Committee hearing on March 16, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that the guarantee would not apply to all deposits at all banks. Rather, the determination would be made on a case-by-case basis.

In a Bloomberg News interview on March 16, former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair criticized that decision. She observed that the two banks getting special treatment were not systemically important, and that the cost of the expanded guarantee was to be covered by a special assessment against all insured banks, including the sm...

Trudeau's censorship slammed on opening day of Canada Strong and Free Networking Conference Signs of the Times

Day 1 of the Canada Stong and Free Networking Conference kicked off in Ottawa on Wednesday, and included in the first day's lineup was a panel on Bills C-11 and C-18. Both bills have been shrouded in controversy and blasted for their impact on freedom of speech, access to the news, and content creation in Canada. Rachel Curran, Head of Public Policy for Meta Canada, expressed concern over the way the bills would regulate user-generate content. She highlighted how the government allegedly did not want to regulate user-generated content, however an amendment that was rejected by the house suggests "there is probably some indication there that the government DOES want to get at user-generated content. We're concerned about that."

At least 23 people died in a "destructive" tornado outbreak that rolled across Mississippi late Friday, leaving a trail of damage for more than 100 miles, local and federal authorities said. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said at least 23 people have died, and there are "dozens injured." Four people are missing. Search and rescue operations were underway in Sharkey and Humphreys counties, MSEMA said late Friday. The agency issued a series of tornado warnings in counties throughout the state. "Many in the MS Delta need your prayer and God's protection tonight," Gov. Tate Reeves said on Twitter. "We have activated medical support -- surging more ambulances and other emergency assets for those affected. Search and rescue is active." At least 13 people were dead, Sharkey County Coroner Angelia Easton told ABC News, adding that she could not yet confirm their ages. Canberra had tried but failed to prevent the violent criminal with deep extremist ties from traveling, local media has reported. Daniel Newman, a far-right extremist and a violent criminal, has flown from Australia to Ukraine to join the fight against Russian troops, Australia's Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) newspaper reported on Thursday, citing its sources. The development coincides with efforts by Canberra to prevent violent extremists from traveling to the war-torn country to gain combat experience, SMH said. Newman first traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and then to Europe in February, before arriving in Ukraine this month, the report claims, adding that the man had supposedly told his associates he was planning to take up arms against Russian forces.

Utah's record snow is so deep it buried measuring equipment Signs of the Times

The record-breaking snowfall this winter has been phenomenal, maybe even more so in the eyes of those who study it closely. The director of the Snow Hydrology Research to Operations Lab at the University of Utah said she could have never predicted that her equipment at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon would ever be buried by snow. But that's exactly what happened. "The snow really has not stopped," said McKenzie Skiles, an assistant professor at the University of Utah, and head of the Snow Hydrology Research to Operations Lab. "This winter we've just been getting storm after storm after storm, and we have finally just matched the record for peak snow water equivalent that was set in 83." That record was later eclipsed in the afternoon. We caught up with her today in the midst of a snow squall, which seemed like the perfect setting.

Pyongyang claimed the system is able to "annihilate enemy ship groups" without detection. North Korea has tested a new "underwater nuclear strategic weapon," claiming the platform can produce a "radioactive tsunami." Pyongyang claimed it has been forced to strengthen its "war deterrence" amid a flurry of military drills by Washington and Seoul. A series of tests were carried out between Tuesday and Thursday this week by the North Korean military and were overseen by supreme leader Kim Jong-un, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. The trials were intended to confirm the "lethal strike capability" of the new "secret weapon," which has been dubbed "Tsunami."

US rulers keep the masses divided and distracted from demanding justice Signs of the Times

Political tribalism protects America's leaders from being held accountable for everything from failed policies to war crimes. Washington is where securing political power means never having to say you're sorry - regardless of how many thousands or millions of people you might have gotten killed. Tribalism is what keeps the perpetrators from ever being held accountable. Consider, for example, this month's Axios/Ipsos poll showing that more than six in ten US adults believe that George W. Bush's 2003 invasion of Iraq was a mistake. While it might seem encouraging that most Americans have come to realize that the Iraq debacle was a bad move - sort of like recognizing that the sun comes up in the East - a glance beneath the headline number reveals that voters haven't really learned anything.

Comparing US and Russian military strength 'pointless' - Medvedev Signs of the Times

Washington's purported superiority is meaningless as there would be no winner in an actual war, the former Russian president has warned. Any serious conflict involving the world's leading nuclear powers would "obviously" have no winner, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has outlined. As a result, comparing the strength of the Russian and American militaries is pointless, he added. The consequences of a nuclear war would be "monstrous" and make it "impossible to say which army was the first and which second," the senior official told the Russian media this week. The prowess of a military force is measured by the outcomes of its campaigns, added Medvedev, who is now the deputy chair of Russia's National Security Council.

Tornadoes tear through Mississippi killing at least 10 and leaving 100-mile destruction path | 25 March 2023 | A severe weather outbreak across several southern states Friday evening and Saturday morning produced at least one deadly tornado in Mississippi. FOX News Channel confirmed at least seven dead in Rolling Fork, Mississippi and three in Carroll County, Mississippi, after the storm pummeled across the state Friday evening, destroying buildings and knocking out power for thousands of residents. FOX Weather confirmed at least two people were injured, too. Those numbers are expected to rise. The severe line of storms prompted a tornado emergency to be issued in a few towns, which is the most dire of tornado-related alerts.

Russias Economy Is Booming Despite or Because of Sanctions? Terra Forming Terra

To start with, Russia is internally able to be self sufficient.  This means zero external leverage.  Thus sanctions simply kick started supply replacement.

This always creates a boom as it did in Japan and Germany back in the day.

The skills are all there as well and it is easy to do.

Russias Economy Is Booming Despite or Because of Sanctions?  "Russian economic sovereignty has increased." President Putin

Global Research, March 20, 2023

https://www.globalresearch.ca/russia-economy-booming-despite-because-sanctions/5812628

It is true, western sanctions have failed miserably in destroying Russias economy. To the contrary, Russias economy has been booming since 2022 and keeps doing well, also projected into the future. Why?

We have exponentially increased our economic sovereignty, President Putin commented at a recent meeting with aircraft factory employees in Ulan-Ude, Buryatia. The autonomous Republic of Buryatia is in the south of Eastern Siberia, along the border with Mongolia.

Its territory takes up two thirds of the water area of Lake Baikal (see map below). This just as an idea of the enormous landmass, called Russia, and what lays above and beneath her.

Economic sovereignty, is one of the main reasons for Russias economic growth during the time of the worst sanctions any country has ever undergone by the west led, of course, by the US and its puppet Europe. The latter has followed the sanction circus, even though it is self-destructive for Europe. This, indeed, is well known to those who have been put into the position of leading or rather destroying Europe as an economic force.

The Language of Four: The Meaning of Tetragrammaton Terra Forming Terra

So much of all this represents past efforts to create a natural foundation for all our knowledge.  Not a bad endeavor.

The act of creation must be binary or otherwise it falls apart.  Then the additional creation of TIME makes it a natural tetra creation.  Such a creation looks most like a tetrahedron with four axis and four surfaces as well.

It is no trick to add letters and create mapped words as part of your efforts.  Or embed the I ching symbol as part of a circle then extended into three dimensions for the SPACE TIME pendulum.

It all needs to be taught this way.

Neutral Neutron Pairs Terra Forming Terra

I have slowly come to grasp just what science has been missing because normal matter is so dominating.  Yet provided the neutral neutron pair is a reality, then the whole galaxy is full of this stuff, and better yet we literally breath it as well.

understand though that hydrogen is equally undetectable except by indirect means.  It even penetrates matter as we know it.  For that reason our proposed neutral neutron pair has a free ride past everything we can do.  Accidental hits will be seen as just that and of no import.

From our knowledge of Cloud Cosmology we do have some things we can aassert:

1      The NNP does react along a number of axis allowing one NNP to be attached to another NNP.  This is not what i describe as a hard lock but quite weak but still real and allows ordered conglomerates.  These are in fact describable as proto Elements and Isotopes that can potentially decay into the expected elements on the basis of multiple NNP decay.  They can just as easily be torn apart as well.  I am not so sure that decay is taking place out in space as well as in the sun.

2      Gravitational pull is far less than for elements.  The spacing is too large between NNPs.  however it is not zero.  Packed elements should squeeze out the majority of NNP content.  This gives us the surface nature of all planets and also the Sun.  This can then be a shell.

3      Understand that Cloud cosmology projects three types of neutral matter.  I use the word neutral only because the word is convenient and allows us then to identify axis as separate.  Neutral assumes mathematical continuity which is not real.  We are now just understanding how important the NNP is in the evolution of our third level phys...

Brenner & Kondratieff Waves v Economic Confidence Model Armstrong Economics

COMMENT: Marty, I began following you in 1985. That is when everyone was using the Kondratieff Wave and admitted it averaged 45 to 60 years. They were all predicting another Great Depression. You were the only one right back then as well. I remember your advertisement in the Economist saying a new Private Wave was beginning. The ECM has called every turn ever since and even to the very day.

Now the Brenner Chart is floating around all because it points to 2023.  The 1999 turning point which was supposed to be the high, was not just off from the stock market and the 2000 Dot-Com Bubble, but 1999 was low in gold. The 2019 target was also off for it was 2020 which was a low.

I think both the Kondratieff and the Brenner cycles have caused more harm than good in furthering cyclical analysis. You are right. They were commodity based not economic-based.

I just wanted to share my observations because people need to understand the difference.

6 Common Dream Meanings That Should Never Be Ignored Awareness Act

Our dreams are the gateway to our subconscious, and because we are the creators of our dreams (without even realizing it) our dreams tend to tell us what is brewing beneath the surface. For quite some time, psychologists have understood that the symbology in our dreams directly correlates to what our subconscious mind is trying to tell us.

I have always found dreams to be interesting, not just because its simply beyond understanding as to how amazing it is that we can astral travel in our slumber as a means of working ourselves out. If you dont believe me, below I will go over a few different dreams, what they mean, and why you should NEVER ignore them.

1. Being chased.

Being chased is a common dream and for good reason. Dream experts believe that when you are being chased in a dream, it is likely you are avoiding facing something in your life. It could be that you are buying your emotions, or that you are feeling as though you are getting behind in life. Put simply, something in your life is catching up to you and you are terrified everything is about to blow up. This means that it is time to face the things you are avoiding head-on before things go awry.

2. Taking an exam.

I have had this dream over and over throughout my life and it has always left me feeling super anxious. According to experts, this is a sign that you may be afraid of living up to certain expectations you are holding for yourself or that others are holding for you. It might be time to readjust your expectations and the expectations of others.

3. Dreaming of death.

When you are dreaming of death, it is a sign you are giving too much of yourself and feels unappreciated or as though your efforts are draining you dry. This is a sign of mental exhaustion and a major indicator to reassess how much energy you are putting into certain situations, places, or things.

4. Dreaming of an ex.

When you dream of an ex, this is because you are missing some aspect of how they made you feel. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU NEED TO GO BACK. What it does mean, is that if you are with someone new, you may be feeling neglected or as though your needs are unmet. You may even subconsciously know that your new person isnt right for you.

5. Missing teeth.

When you are missing teeth in a dream, this is a fear of losing your ability to take care of yourself. Deep down, this dream is rooted in a fear of losing stability, losing your means to take care of yourself and nourish yourself. The reason I say this is that our teeth help us to chew our food. In our instincts, we associate our teeth with our ability to sustain ourselves and survive. You likely feel like you are on the verge of not being able to take care of your own needs. Or, it may be a loss of feeling independence in your own life.

6. Being naked.

Dreaming of being naked is rooted in a fear of being seen. There may be parts of yo...

6 Ways To Respond to Your Childs Mistakes in a Positive Way Awareness Act

Mistakes are an inevitable part of life, and learning how to respond positively to our childrens mistakes is essential for fostering a healthy parent-child relationship. By approaching these situations with understanding and empathy, parents can help their children develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset. In this article, we will explore six ways to respond to your childs mistakes in a positive and constructive manner.

Empathize with their feelings

When your child makes a mistake, its important to acknowledge their feelings and let them know that its okay to feel upset or disappointed. Validate their emotions and let them know that everyone makes mistakes, and its a natural part of learning and growing. By empathizing with their feelings, you create a safe space for them to process their emotions and move forward.

Avoid blame and criticism

Criticizing or blaming your child for their mistakes can be counterproductive and may lead to feelings of shame and guilt. Instead, focus on the situation and what can be learned from it. Encourage your child to reflect on their actions and consider what they might do differently next time.

Help them understand the consequences

Rather than dwelling on the mistake itself, help your child understand the natural consequences of their actions. This approach allows them to learn from their mistakes and recognize the impact of their choices. Guide them through the process of identifying the consequences and brainstorming ways to rectify the situation or make amends if necessary.

Encourage problem-solving

When faced with a mistake, its essential to foster problem-solving skills in your child. Instead of simply fixing the problem for them, work together to find solutions and encourage them to take an active role in resolving the issue. This collaborative approach empowers your child to take responsibility for their actions and develops their ability to navigate challenges independently.

Praise their efforts and resilience

Recognize and praise your childs efforts to rectify their mistakes and bounce back from setbacks. By focusing on their resilience and determination, you help them develop a growth mindset and foster the belief that they can overcome obstacles and learn from their experiences.

Share your own mistakes

Sharing stories of your own mistakes and the lessons youve learned can help normalize the experience for your child and demonstrate that everyone makes errors. By showing your vulnerability and openness, you can create a supportive environment where your child feels comfortable discussing their challenges and learning from their experiences.

Responding positively to your childs mistakes is crucial for their emotional well-being and personal growth. By empathizing with their feelings, avoiding blame, and encouraging...

7 Risks Of Threatening Your Child With Consequences Awareness Act

Parenting is a challenging and complex journey, filled with the responsibility of shaping and guiding young minds. While discipline is an essential part of child-rearing, the manner in which it is implemented can have a significant impact on a childs emotional and psychological well-being. Threatening children with consequences is a common disciplinary approach, but it may lead to unintended negative outcomes. This article will explore the risks associated with threatening your child with consequences and suggest alternative approaches to foster a healthier parent-child relationship.

Fear-based parenting

Threatening consequences often instills fear in children, leading them to comply with rules and expectations out of fear of punishment rather than understanding the rationale behind them. This fear-based parenting style can impede a childs ability to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Eroding trust

Consistently threatening consequences can damage the trust between parent and child, making it difficult for the child to feel secure and supported. Children may begin to view their parents as adversaries rather than allies, leading to an unhealthy dynamic within the family.

Increased anxiety

Children who experience ongoing threats of consequences may develop heightened anxiety levels, fearing the potential repercussions of their actions. This constant state of worry can lead to long-term mental health issues, such as generalized anxiety disorder or even depression.

Strained communication

When children are frequently threatened with consequences, open and honest communication can become compromised. Children may be hesitant to share their feelings or discuss challenging situations, fearing that they will be met with threats instead of understanding and support.

Rebellion

Ironically, the excessive use of threats may result in children becoming more defiant and rebellious. This resistance can stem from their desire to assert their independence and control in the face of a perceived authoritarian parenting style.

Impaired self-esteem

Repeated threats can erode a childs self-esteem, leading them to believe that they are incapable of making good decisions or that they are inherently flawed. This negative self-image can have lasting consequences on their overall well-being and success in various aspects of life.

Poor problem-solving skills

Relying on threats as a disciplinary measure can hinder a childs development of effective problem-solving skills. Instead of learning how to navigate challenges independently and effectively, children may become dependent on external control and guidance.

Alternative Approaches to Discipline

To foster a healthier parent-child relationship and promote emotional well-being, consider implementing the following alternative approaches to discipline:

5 Common Relationship Habits That Destroy Your Relationship Awareness Act

It is a common misconception that if two perfect people meet, then it should be easy, that things will fall into place and no matter what happens, the relationship will last. However, no matter how perfect your relationship may seem, if your relationship habits are counterproductive, even the best relationship can come to an end.

At the end of the day, it is our habits that make or break our relationships. Of course, some habits stand out above the rest and are what we would refer to as relationship killers. These relationship killers may seem like normal things, however, with the statistics taken into consideration, it is likely best to not just accept behaviors as normal because what is normal isnt always working.

With that said, here are 5 common relationship habits that destroy relationships.

1. Holding your partner in contempt.

According to the Gottman Institute, founded by John Gottman and his wife, who has researched the topic of love for decades, contempt is the number one relationship killer. An example of contempt, is when one partner is constantly degrading or undermining their partner. They may passive aggressive remarks or otherwise make statements that would have you believe they hate their partner.

2. Refusing to work on yourself and grow.

No person is easy to deal with, and I am sorry if you think that you are, because we all have our difficulties. At the end of the day, if you are blaming everything on your partner and refusing to see your part in the relationship, this can make it very hard to resolve issues.

3. Dishonesty.

Dishonesty destroys relationships. While a lie can be moved past in some cases, when lying becomes consistent, making it hard to decipher truth from fiction, it will destroy the trust. If the trust is destroyed, if it can be mended, it will take time.

4. Lack of trust.

Trust is fundamental to relationships. Without it, partners can become obsessive to the point of pushing each other way and at the end of the day, it can get downright toxic.

5. Lack of support.

Relationships are supposed to be two people on a team, cheering the other on, and pushing their partner to achieve their goals. When one partner or both are unable to do that, due to several reasons, its a bad sign that this is going to end in a bad way.

10 Things You Say To Children That Can Cause Eating Disorders Awareness Act

Eating disorders are complex and multifaceted mental health conditions that often develop during childhood or adolescence. The factors contributing to their development can range from genetic predisposition to environmental influences. One of the most significant environmental factors that can contribute to the development of eating disorders is the way parents and caregivers communicate with their children about food, body image, and weight. This article will highlight 10 common phrases or comments that, when said to children, can contribute to the development of eating disorders.

Youre not leaving the table until you finish your plate.

Forcing children to finish their meal can lead to an unhealthy relationship with food, as they may start to associate eating with punishment or guilt. Instead, encourage children to listen to their bodies and eat until they feel satisfied, not stuffed.

Youll get fat if you keep eating like that.

Labeling food as good or bad and associating it with weight gain can instill fear and guilt in children, potentially leading to disordered eating habits. Teach children about the importance of balanced meals and moderation, without using weight gain as a scare tactic.

You should go on a diet.

Encouraging dieting, especially at a young age, can set children up for a lifetime of yo-yo dieting and an unhealthy relationship with food. Instead of promoting diets, focus on teaching children about proper nutrition, portion control, and the importance of physical activity for overall health.

You have such a pretty face; if only you lost some weight.

This type of comment implies that a childs worth is tied to their appearance, which can lead to body dissatisfaction and a heightened risk of developing an eating disorder. Encourage self-love and body acceptance, regardless of size or shape.

Youve gained some weight; are you okay?

Weight fluctuations are normal for growing children, and making a big deal out of them can create anxiety and lead to disordered eating. Instead of focusing on weight, ask about their overall well-being, including physical and emotional health.

Your sibling is so thin and fit; you should be more like them.

Comparing children to their siblings or peers can create feelings of inadequacy and competition, leading to the development of unhealthy eating habits. Celebrate each childs unique qualities and strengths instead.

Dont eat that; its bad for you.

Labeling certain foods as bad or off-limits can lead to binge eating and feelings of guilt when those foods are consumed. Encourage a balanced and varied diet, emphasizing the concept of moderation and the enjoyment of occasional treats without guilt....

UK energy firms profiting from crisis by threatening gov't they will shut off power Signs of the Times

The energy regulator Ofgem is preparing to crack down on UK power firms to prevent them from "manipulating" the market with a manoeuvre that has bolstered their profits by millions of pounds. The practice, which does not break existing market rules, involves generators warning the electricity system operator that they are turning their power plants off at times of peak demand and subsequently offering to keep them running in exchange for a "balancing" payment. In some cases, the electricity system operator, which is owned by National Grid, has been left with little option other than to make payments of significantly above the market price to keep power plants from turning off and avoid the risk of winter blackouts.

RSPCA sounds alarm on new law that would allow gene-editing on PETS, farm animals, crops Signs of the Times

Pets could be subjected to gene editing under a new government act, the RSPCA has warned. The animal charity has said that the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act applies to all vertebrate animals, not only farmed animals, and that it could lead to cats and dogs being gene-edited to include extreme features. The law allows the creation and marketing of "precision-bred" or genome-edited plants and vertebrate animals in England. The government said it would allow farmers to grow crops that are drought- and disease-resistant, reduce the use of fertilisers and pesticides, and help breed animals that are protected from catching harmful diseases. Comment: Except GMO plants have not been shown to have any of these qualities, moreover these mutant crops are linked to numerous diseases in both animals and humans that consume them. These inferior crops harm the soil they're in, the creatures that have contact with them, and they possess the ability to contaminate the heritage plants...

Oldest evidence of a meteor collision with Earth discovered in Australia Signs of the Times

Scientists in Australia have unearthed 3.48 billion-year-old rock fragments that may be the earliest evidence of a meteorite crashing into Earth. The fragments, known as spherules, may have formed when the meteor slammed into the ground, spraying melted rock into the air. This melted rock then cooled and hardened into pinhead-size beads that became buried over the eons. Researchers presented this discovery, which has not been peer-reviewed, at the 54th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in Texas last week. In a summary of their results , the scientists concluded that the spherules, which they drilled up from a group of volcanic and sedimentary rocks called the Dresser Formation of the Pilbara Craton in Western Australia, are "the oldest evidence of a potential bolide impact in the geologic record of Earth." (A bolide is a large meteor that explodes in the atmosphere while falling to Earth.)

How Chelsea Mannings Court-Martial Laid the Groundwork for Julian Assanges Prosecution Dissident Voice

Adapted from Guilty of Journalism: The Political Case against Julian Assange

Private First Class Chelsea Manning received the harshest punishment any United States military officer or federal government employee has ever received for leaking classified information to the press. Colonel Denise Lind, the military judge presiding over her court-martial, sentenced Manning to thirty-five years at Fort Leavenworth prison in Kansas.

She was found guilty of six charges under the Espionage Act, five stealing charges, one charge involving the wanton publication of intelligence, multiple charges of failure to obey an order or regulation, and one charge under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Notably, Manning was acquitted of an aiding the enemy offense that carried a potential sentence of life in prison.

Manning was never charged with any conspiracy offenses, and, unlike the charges against Assange, military prosecutors did not accuse her of attempting to crack a password hash. Even with logs from alleged chats between Manning and Assange, there was scant evidence that Assange or any WikiLeaks staff attempted to enlist her to leak. Prosecutors only expressed disgust that she had independently chosen to become a source and shared more than 700,000 documents.

When Mannings trial occurred in 2013, WikiLeaks was not yet designated a hostile intelligence agency by the CIA. However, by 2019, there was no longer division in the government over whether to treat WikiLeaks as a journalistic entity or not. The indictment plainly claimed, To obtain information to release on the WikiLeaks website, Assange recruited sources and predicated the success of WikiLeaks in part upon the recruitment of sources in order to illegally circumvent legal safeguards on information.

More Like Cousteaus Son, Not Bradley Coopers Twin! Dissident Voice

Im back at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport Oregon, part of the Oregon State University campus harboring marine mammal-fisheries-benthic-ocean researchers and students.

The topic: How humans decimated whale populations through hundreds of years of industrial whaling, leaving some species and populations on the brink of extinction. But despite these impacts, many whale populations have made remarkable recoveries, demonstrating the ability of threatened and endangered species to bounce back from intense human pressure.

The presenter: Joshua Stewart, a new faculty member at OSUs Marine Mammal Institute, PhD from Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

The running joke with Stewart last night was he WAS not Bradley Cooper, and so he let people know not to be too disappointed that instead of that overpaid undertalented Holly-Dirt guy (my phrasing) we were in for a presentation by a nerd, a passionate whale guy, and young at that!

Trump Rot at the EPA Dissident Voice

A new report by the EPAs internal watchdog has exposed Trump administration appointees that meddled in the agencys science to weaken the toxicity assessment of PFASs. If not for the Biden administration, which discovered this egregious complicity by political appointees and the chemical industry to weaken standards of toxicity, Americans would be unnecessarily exposed to dangerous chemicals beyond the abhorrent levels of exposure already extant.

Shortly after taking the oath of office, Trump grabbed a baseball bat and waddled over to EPA, eviscerating the agency created under President Richard Nixons administration in 1970 to protect the country from too much toxicity and carefree abuse/dumping anything and everything into the environment, e.g., Lake Erie considered a dead lake in the 1960s.

Trump chased many EPA senior scientists out, some fled to France. The nations top environmental agency is still reeling from the exodus of more than 1,200 scientists and policy experts during the Trump administration. (Depleted Under Trump, a Traumatized E.P.A. Struggles With its Mission, New York Times, Jan. 23, 2023)

As research continues to expose the dangers of PFASs, its become the new symbol of toxicity in America. A recent study by Environmental Working Group scientists uncovered disturbing levels of PFASs in Americas freshwater fish found throughout the country from coast-to-coast. Every citizen of America is already subject to exposure to this dangerous chemical that Trump wanted to let loose beyond established principles of science on the public.

According to numerous studies, PFASs accumulate in human tissue, showing up years later potentially as testicular, kidney, or pancreatic cancer, weakened immune systems, decreased fertility, endocrine disruption, elevated cholesterol, increased risk of asthma, thyroid disease, and puzzling weight gain.  PFAS chemicals have contaminated drinking water for nearly one-half of Americas population. American cases of chronic illnesses at nearly 50% of the general population support that fact.

According to the EPA: PFAS are a group of manufactured chemicals that have been us...

Worse Than Trump: The Invasion of Iraq Twenty Years On Dissident Voice

The hypocrisy in the Bush administrations overall national security strategy is monumental. If having weapons of mass destruction and a history of using them is a criteria, then surely the United States must pose the greatest threat to humanity that has ever existed While the U.S. is massively expanding its biological weapons research capabilities for example by upgrading its bioresearch facilities at the Livermore and Los Alamos nuclear weapons labs to aerosolize live anthrax and genetically modify bio-organisms it is blocking a protocol to the Biological Weapons Convention that would allow international inspectors into U.S. facilities.

Jacqueline Cabasso, Executive Director, Western States Legal Foundation

There are well over 90 UN Security Council resolutions that are currently being violated by countries other than Iraq. The vast majority of these resolutions are being violated by allies of the United States that receive U.S. military, economic, and diplomatic support. Indeed, the U.S. has effectively blocked the UN Security Council from enforcing these resolutions against its allies.

Stephen Zunes, Associate Professor of Politics, University of San Francisco

In his [President Bushs] speech to the nation on Oct. 7, he said America is a friend of the people of Iraq. Try telling that to a friend of mine in Baghdad who walked out of his house following a U.S. bomb attack to find his neighbors head rolling down the street; or to a taxi driver I met whose four-year-old child shook uncontrollably for three days following Clintons 1998 Monicagate bombing diversion. Try telling it to the mother of Omran ibn Jwair, whom I met in the village of Toq al-Ghazzalat after a U.S. missile killed her 13-year-old son while he was tending sheep in the field. Try telling it to the hundreds of mothers I have seen crying over their dying babies in Iraqi hospitals, and to the hundreds of thousands of parents who have actually lost their infant children due to the cruel U.S. blockade, euphemistically called sanctions.'

James Jennings, President, Conscience International

the establishment of the no-fly zones violated Iraqs sovereignty, something explicitly guaranteed by every Security Council resolution on Iraq. The infiltration of spies into Unscom was a further violation of the inspections process and among the information they collected was anything that could help target Saddam Hussein for assassination, in violation of both international law and domestic executive order . the U.S. used (weapons) inspections explicitly to provoke crises

A Pragmatic Foreign Policy Would Have Black American Support The Duck of Minerva

Since marginalized communities tend to suffer disproportionately when governments make contemptible policy choices, it stands to reason that those communities might develop a heightened sensitivity about the merits of new policies. At the very least they have reason to cultivate a perspective and preferences that differ from people with resources (money, power, societal standing) to buffer them from the consequences of poor policy stewardship.

That perspective has a kernel of wise counsel.

Theres an abundance of evidence that policies ranging from de-industrialization since the 1970s to the drug war of the 1980s and 1990s to the pandemic response today dramatically harmed Black communities more than white or affluent ones. Same goes for the distribution of pain that comes with structural poverty and economic recessions.

But Im thinking about foreign policy. Specifically, I have a hunch that Black Americans have a comparatively good bullshit detector about statecraft.

Why? Not because of anything innate or biological, but because of their historical experience in the United States and their overrepresentation in structural (and literal) violence as a consequence of US policy choices. Greater personal stakes means greater attentiveness to costs and risks, and therefore better judgment.

The caveat is that African Americans are far from monolithic, and that sometimes extends to how they view US foreign policy. The US decision to enter World War I was exceedingly controversial and regrettable, but even prominent Black...

We Need a New Airport, Not a New Airport Terminal Blog Baladi

The Minister of Public Works & Transport announced on Twitter yesterday plans to build a new terminal at the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport with a foreign investment of $122 million, noting that no expansion plans have been undertaken at the current airport since 1998.

However, Lebanons imminent need is for a new airport far away from Beirut, not for a new terminal. No new terminal is going to fix the problems surrounding the existing airport, from random shootings at airplanes, piles of garbage attracting flocks of birds, the insecurity in surrounding areas as well as many other factors. On top of all that, it is unclear how the bid was conducted and won and what is the nature of this investment in hundreds of millions.

The project is expected to be completed fully in a period of four years and is aimed at welcoming low-cost carriers, seasonal and charter flights and tourists. It will create 500 jobs and can welcome up to 3.5 million passengers per year. At the end of the promotional video shared by the minister, it claims the terminal will be a new aspiration for world travelers. I wonder who these world travelers will be.

World Athletics Council bans trans females who experienced male puberty Signs of the Times

Transgender women who have experienced male puberty will not be permitted to compete in female world ranking competitions, the World Athletics announced Thursday. The international council opted to ban the swath of prospective athletes instead of continuing to follow its previous rules that placed parameters on the testosterone levels of transgender female athletes. Previously, transgender women were required to reduce their amount of blood testosterone to a maximum of 2.5 nanomoles for a period of 24 months to qualify for competition. After consulting with various stakeholders including transgender representatives World Athletics found there was "little support" for the regulations.

Soros-owned DA Kim Gardner found GUILTY on 141 founts of misconduct and misrepresentation Signs of the Times

ICYMI| St Louis DA Kim Gardner is in a world of hurt after she lost her appeal for refusing to turn over her communications with operatives of George Soros and others in her prosecution of former Gov Eric Greitens. A court has already found that she committed 62 acts of misconduct and 79 cases of misrepresentation in convicting Greitens of crimes he did not commit. He was later cleared and the extremely popular Greitens is now running for the US Senate from Missouri. Gardner has been a disaster for St Louis. Last year there more murders in St Louis than at any time in the last 50 years. Gardner has refused to prosecute so many murderers that the Missouri legislature had to pass a law limiting the time she had to file murder charges to 90 days. After that, the state Attorney General takes over the case. Gardner refused to prosecute cases of drug dealers and child molesters even when there was enough evidence to make them open and shut cases. Her excuse was that the police are...

Russia: UK could fuel 'radioactive disaster' in Ukraine Signs of the Times

Depleted uranium shells promised to Kiev by the UK would "cause irreparable harm" to soldiers and civilians alike, Moscow claimed The potential use of British-supplied depleted uranium shells by Ukraine would have a devastating impact on the country's economy and population, lasting for centuries to come, the Russian Defense Ministry warned on Friday. Speaking at a briefing, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, who is in charge of Russia's Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense Forces, issued a scathing criticism of the UK's plans to support Kiev with armor-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium. He noted that such munitions have only ever been deployed in combat by NATO countries, most notably during the Iraq War, when the US used at least 300 tons of depleted uranium.

Japans gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by an annualized 0.1% in October-December, against a preliminary estimate of a 0.6% expansion and much lower than economists median forecast for a 0.8% rise in a Reuters poll. That followed a revised 1.1% contraction in July-September. Private consumption, which makes up more than half of the countrys GDP, grew 0.3%, the data showed, downgraded from an initial estimate of a 0.5% increase.

Auroras shine unusually far south in the US amid strongest solar storm since 2017 Signs of the Times

As soon as the sun set Thursday, extreme weather photographer Peter Forister excitedly headed for the hills. Forecasts had suggested that recent storming on the surface of the sun could set off auroras brilliant dancing streaks of light, also known as the northern lights in the Lower 48 states. For the first hour or so into his night, his camera picked up pretty but rather demure purple hues in the sky, which appeared just as a white haze to the naked eye. Then, within 30 seconds at around 11 p.m., the sky lit up with vibrant red and yellow streaks visible to the naked eye. Forister sprinted up a hill with his camera and pushed through bushes that scratched and tore up his legs, but "it didn't matter," he said. "It was so exciting." "You just step back and jaw drop and just watch the show for a few minutes," Forister said. "It was really remarkable, like the kind of show that will make you stop and just catch your breath."

Lunacy: Dem-dominated Denver suburb bans new gas stations to 'fight climate change' Signs of the Times

A Democratic-led suburb in Colorado is doing its "obligation" to fight climate change approving a proposed ban on all new gas stations. The city council in Louisville 20 miles outside Denver voted Tuesday to set the cap at six filling stations for its 21,000 residents. A seventh would be allowed only if it's part of a large retail center. Any new station would also be required to include at least two charging stations for electric vehicles and be 1,000 feet away from an existing station. "I don't think any single action this council or community takes is going to fix climate change," council member Maxine Most said during the vote. "But I think it's a really good idea to decarbonize because it sends a signal and it sends a message."

Government demands TikTok stop spying on Americans: 'That's our job' Signs of the Times

As TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew faced questioning from the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Capitol Hill, leaders from the United States government issued strong demands that TikTok stop spying on American citizens because that's the government's job. "Stay off our turf!" Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said to assembled members of the press. "How can the federal government be expected to effectively spy on all of our citizens if we've got this TikTok app and the Chinese Communist Party getting in our way trying to do the same thing? If anyone is going to be violating the privacy of the American people, it should be us!" Concerns continue to grow that the social media video app is harvesting private data from millions of American users and funneling it to the Chinese government, a charge that the TikTok CEO vehemently denies. "The Honorable and Most Excellent President Xi told me to say we do not collect sensitive data from our users," said Mr. Chew when questioned. "We...

Parents Purchase 2 Container Homes For Teenage Daughters To Live In Backyard Awareness Act

Living with teenagers can be a struggle because while your teen likely wants independence, you also want to make sure they are close by. One family found a really amazing solution to this problem that likely make inspire you.

Matt and Linda are from Henderson, Nevada. They have three children, and as their kids began to grow into teens, they began to understand that their kids needed more privacy and also their own space. After looking and looking, they did finally stumble upon a home that they loved, however, there was one issue: there simply was not enough space for each of their kids to have their own room.

Of course, the home did have a huge backyard, which lead the parents to a solution that was completely unique. Instead of ditching their dream home, they decided to purchase some small container homes that would fit perfectly in their backyard. In their minds, they could one day house their elderly parents or even rent the spaces for some extra cash when their daughters went to university.

Matts favorite part was that his daughters would still live at home while having their own space. It gives our teenage daughters some autonomy and some space but [theyre] still in the backyard.

The one drawback was that this was not the cheapest solution because the container homes they chose were 116,000 Euros (131,000 USD.) Of course, what tiny house isnt complete without some furnishing, so they spent around 8,000 euros to furnish it. Each container home included a huge, open living room, kitchenette, bathroom, and bedroom that can fit a double bed.

Each kitchenette includes its own fridge and microwave. Additionally, they each had a television and a corner couch that serves as a guest bed. In order to share their story with the world, Matt and Linda started a YouTube page, called Tiny House Giant Journey. Since airing the clip they posted about their daughters living situation, the couple has gotten over 1.5 million views!

7 Ways to Keep Your Kids Honest Awareness Act

As parents, we all have values that we wish to instill in our children because we want them to turn into good humans. One of those important values, at least in my household, is honesty.

Lets face it: kids tend to tell lies as they reach those years in which they realize they can. They do it for a number of reasons, including to avoid getting in trouble or to get what they want. When your child tells you a lie and you figure it out, it can be disheartening. However, your response to their lie can make all the difference in the world. If you want to help your child become honest, its important that you make honesty a focus. Here are 7 ways to do that.

1. Model honesty.

If you want to raise honest children, then you have to be honest, too. Why? At the end of the day, you can tell your child to do whatever you wish, but kids pay attention to what we do and how we speak. Ultimately, they pay attention to our actions more so than our words.

2. Do not set them up.

It might be tempting to set your child up to lie. However, when you do this, you are basically encouraging them to lie and then reprimanding them for it. Ultimately, this sends the wrong message.

3. Reward truth.

Make sure that you praise them when you see them telling the truth. Humans, kids especially, learn through praise and reward. So, if you honor honesty, then make sure you notice it when it is present.

4. Make honesty a positive focus.

While your kids are young, make sure they realize that honesty is an important value to you and your family. Of course, be age-appropriate, however, when the subject of lying and honesty comes up, explain how lying breaks trust.

5. Avoid labeling.

When you notice your child lying, do not label them as a liar. Their behavior might be lying, but your kids are not their behavior. When you put a label on your child, they might decide to live up to it.

6. Do not reward lies.

Do not reward lies. As soon as you realize your child is lying, you need to address the behavior.

7. Give consequences.

Make sure that there are always consequences for lying. It is best to already have a consequence in mind, so there is no thought about what will happen because they will already know. Then, as soon as you notice the behavior, you need to consistently enforce consequences.

Package with suspicious white powder delivered to Manhattan DA's office amid Trump probe: 'Alvin, I'll kill you' | 24 March 2023 | Emergency personnel have responded after a package with suspicious white powder was delivered to the mail room for the New York City building housing the Manhattan District Attorney's office, according to police. A law enforcement source confirmed there was a note saying "Alvin - I'll kill you" in the envelope. District Attorney Alvin Bragg is currently weighing whether to proceed with an indictment against former President Donald Trump for alleged hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels in 2016. The envelope delivered by the U.S. Postal Service Friday has been "deemed non-hazardous" at the scene, the mail room to the DA's office, officials told Fox News. Police responded to the scene shortly after 12 p.m., and as yet, no one has been ordered to evacuate.

SOTT FOCUS: Seymour Hersh: The Nord Stream Cover-up Signs of the Times

The Biden Administration continues to conceal its responsibility for the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines... It's been six weeks since I published a report, based on anonymous sourcing, naming President Joe Biden as the official who ordered the mysterious destruction last September of Nord Stream 2, a new $11-billion pipeline that was scheduled to double the volume of natural gas delivered from Russia to Germany. The story gained traction in Germany and Western Europe, but was subject to a near media blackout in the US. Two weeks ago, after a visit by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Washington, US and German intelligence agencies attempted to add to the blackout by feeding the New York Times and the German weekly Die Zeit false cover stories to counter the report that Biden and US operatives were responsible for the pipelines' destruction. Press aides for the White House and Central Intelligence Agency have consistently denied that America was responsible for exploding the...

Appeals court blocks Biden's vaccine mandate for federal employees Signs of the Times

President Joe Biden's order that federal employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 was blocked Thursday by a federal appeals court. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans rejected arguments that Biden, as the nation's chief executive, has the same authority as the CEO of a private corporation to require that employees be vaccinated. The ruling from the full appeals court, 16 full-time judges at the time the case was argued, reversed an earlier ruling by a three-judge 5th Circuit panel that had upheld the vaccination requirement. Judge Andrew Oldham, nominated to the court by then-President Donald Trump, wrote the opinion for a 10-member majority. Opponents of the policy said it was an encroachment on federal workers' lives that neither the Constitution nor federal statutes authorize. Biden issued an executive order last September requiring vaccinations for all executive branch agency employees, with exceptions for medical and religious reasons. The requirement kicked...

In his extremely stupid book on How to Prevent the Next Pandemic, Bill Gates proposed expanding the World Health Organisation with a division of pandemic shock troops called the Global Epidemic Response and Mobilisation team, or GERM. He envisioned a crack unit of 3,000 diversely talented technocrats who could be airdropped into a developing outbreak anywhere in the world and handle everything from subverting local human rights to sequencing random genomes. He was also very emphatic that he wanted more pandemic wargames, because they're fun events where he gets to hobnob with his favourite virus wizards and pose as an important philanthropist for the cameras.

Can we stop playing make believe? Where are the adults when it comes to Ukraine? Signs of the Times

There are still a number of unanswered questions about the incident that downed the MQ9 Predator off the coast of Crimea on Tuesday. Let us start with the facts: The MQ9 drone was conducting an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance mission in international air space off the coast of Crimea. The MQ9 turned off its Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF) transponder. Russian air defense systems were tracking the drone. Russian jet fighters were scrambled to intercept the drone. The United States and NATO have been flying drones along the Crimea coast for more than a year. The drone was brought down without a shot being fired by the Russian combat jet fighters. So far the United States and Russian military are sticking with the same story i.e, one of the planes clipped the drone's propeller accidentally, which cause the drone to crash. We are in full blown Kabuki theater. The United States insists this drone was harmless, just minding its own business, when an incompetent...

10 days that shook the financial world Signs of the Times

Banks risk being transformed into mere proxies of the state, with uncertain consequences for efficient capital allocation. Over the span of 10 days, the global financial system was once again shaken. The time frame between the collapse of Californian lender Silicon Valley Bank, America's 16th largest bank, and that of the 167-year-old lender Credit Suisse was approximately just that 10 days. And as we witness the fallout, so far it appears contained. Stock markets are up, bank stocks seem stabilized and government bonds are in high demand. Officials reassure ad nauseam that the financial system remains strong and stable. But the truth is, even if so, what happened in this period of time has changed the financial system forever and worryingly, most people haven't even noticed. Governments and central banks would have you believe that in both cases, private sector solutions were found to resolve the failures. No taxpayer funds were used. But that is likely not true. Jury acquits Oath Keepers member on 3 felony counts, mistrial declared on last one in Jan 6th case Signs of the Times

The Deep State suffered a loss in court. Back in July 2022, Oath Keepers member Michael Greene was charged despite the fact that he never went into the Capitol and committed no violence on January 6th. The Gateway Pundit previously reported (July 2nd, 2022): Michael Greene was working security for the different Trump events on January 6th. Greene never went inside the Capitol and never engaged in ANY violence. Stewart Rhodes claims the DOJ has indicted Greene because he is a witness for several Oath Keepers. So now the regime is going to intimidate and threaten Michael Greene hoping that he changes his testimony. And the DOJ is lying about Greene's case. Greene never ordered any Oath Keepers into the US Capitol on January 6th. There is no truth to that claim at all.

Unique and very well-preserved prehistoric engravings found in southwestern Catalonia Signs of the Times

Significant prehistoric rock art has been discovered in La Febro, in southwestern Catalonia. The team that discovered the art inside Cova de la Vila described it as "exceptional, both for its singularity and excellent state of conservation." In the Cova de la Vila cave in La Febr (Tarragona), in northeastern Spain's region of Catalonia, more than 100 prehistoric engravings have been found, arranged on an eight-meter panel. According to experts, it is a composition related to the worldview of agricultural societies and farmers of the territory. One of the singularities of this mural is that it is made exclusively with the engraving technique, with stone or wood tools. The engravings include shapes that resemble horses, cows, suns, and stars. Julio Serrano, Montserrat Roca, and Francesc Rubinat were the cavers responsible for the discovery; they collaborated with Josep Vallverd, Antonio Rodrguez-Hidalgo, and Diego Lombao, researchers from the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology...

Poll: Biden approval slumps to near lowest point of Presidency Signs of the Times

Approval of President Joe Biden has dipped to near the lowest point of his tenure in office, a poll released Thursday reveals. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research conducted the polling and the results chart fluctuations in voter support for Biden over recent months. The president notched an approval rating of 38 percent in the poll, after 45 percent said they approved in February and 41 percent in January. His ratings hit their lowest point of his presidency last July, at 36 percent, as the full weight of rising gasoline, food and other costs began to hit U.S. households. The polling further sets out doubts surrounding the president's handling of the national economy and his ability to project authority as he charts the nation's economic course in an increasingly troubled world marked by inflation and bank failures.
