Forever Chemicals is an unofficial name for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) dubbed so for their resistance to breaking down.

American chemical companies were aware of the health and environmental risk of PFAS but intentionally failed to disclose them, new research published in Annals of Global Health journal has shown.

Scientists examined documents from the companies DuPont and 3M and are sure that these corporations knew they were selling poisonous or highly-toxic substances.

Forever Chemicals began in 1946, when DuPont introduced Teflon nonstick cookware and promoted it as a revolution in cooking. Teflon is one of th best-known Forever Chemicals used almost everywhere along with other PFAS. These substances are widely used in clothing, household goods and even packages of food products. PFAS are extremely resistant to breaking down, and after five decades of market expansion, it became obvious that they are slowly killing people and environment.

However, the recent research has shown that chemical giants falsely pretended they knew nothing. Just like tobacco companies hid information about lung cancer, DuPont and 3M suppressed the publication of data that cast Forever Chemicals as dangerous substances, according to the research.

In 1961, corporate researchers discovered that Teflon leads to an increase in the liver size of rats. In 1979, a company discovered that dogs that ingested small doses of C8 another Forever Chemical died in two days. Meanwhile, in 1980, companies learned that 25% of pregnant women who worked in their labs with C8 gave birth to children with birth defects. Companies never warned their female employees about the risks, nor made this information public.

As one of the papers authors, Nadia Gaber, MD, PhD: Having access to these documents allows us to see what the manufacturers knew and when, but also how polluting industries keep critical public health information private.

The authors dubbed their research The Devil They Knew, stressing the fact that corporations deliberately misled consumers.

In the 2000s, the American environmental watchdog fined DuPont $16.45 million the largest civil penalty in the ecology domain at that time. However, this was nothing compared with the billions of dollars in revenues the company received from selling Forever Chemicals.

In January 2021 a group of veterans from several countries including Colombia were involved in developing a project called the International Neutrality Project. We were concerned that the conflict in eastern Ukraine could deteriorate into a major war. We believed that Ukrainian neutrality was essential towards avoiding such a war and that there was an urgent need to promote the concept of neutrality internationally as an alternative to the wars of aggression and resource wars, that were being perpetrated on the peoples of the Middle East and elsewhere. Unfortunately, Ukraine did abandon its neutrality and the conflict in Ukraine did develop into a major war in February 2022, and two European neutral states, Sweden and Finland also were persuaded to abandon their neutrality.

Since the end of the Cold War, wars of aggression for the purpose of grabbing valuable resources have been waged by the US and its NATO and other allies in violation of international laws and the UN Charter, using the War Against Terror as the excuse. All wars of aggression have been illegal under international laws including the Kellogg-Briand-Pact and the Nuremberg Principles which outlawed wars of aggression.

The UN Charter opted for a more pragmatic system of collective security, a bit like the Three Musketeers one for all and all for one. The three musketeers became the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, sometimes known as the five policemen, who were tasked with maintaining or enforcing international peace. The US was the most powerful country in the world at the end of WW 2. It had used atomic weapons unnecessarily against Japan to demonstrate its power to the rest of the world. By any standards this was a serious war crime. The USSR detonated its first atomic bomb in 1949 demonstrating the reality of a bipolar international power system. In this 21st Century the use, or even possession of nuclear weapons should be considered a form of global terrorism.

One week has passed since the G7 Hiroshima Summit ended. On Sunday, May 20, I, as a mother and citizen of the democratic nation of Japan, expressed my message of nuclear abolition in a bicycle caravan protest in Hiroshima along with other members of the WBW Japan Chapter.

We had many online discussions in advance to become acquainted with each other and planned for the event. None of us were entirely sure how the caravan would turn out as we kept hearing in the news that local restrictions were getting tighter and tighter as the day neared.

May 19th, the day before the caravan, I definitely got a taste of the traffic restrictions as I was suddenly stranded for over an hour without warning in Hiroshima City. I saw in front of me several police cars and motorcycles passing by slowly and behind them were black cars with some important people on board. We had no choice but to endure the sudden restrictions. The following day, as we rode bicycles through the city, it felt like a ghost town with very few people despite the weekend. The citizens of Hiroshima had been advised repeatedly prior to the weekend to refrain from unnecessary outings due to the traffic restrictions.

In this report, I, as a citizen of Japan, would like to share with the readers what I felt and thought about the G7 Hiroshima Summit based on some media coverage and articles I came across. The other day, I counted 20 copies of a book called Forbidden City (1990) in a library. I picked it up and looked at the cover, and I realized it was about the so-called Tiananmen Square massacre. It was written as an on-the-spot account by a CBC news team during that time. By reading the minutiae, it is revealed to be a fictionalized account, as almost all western monopoly media reports of a Tiananmen Square massacre are fiction.

As I write this, June 4 is nigh upon us, and that means it is time for the western-aligned media to crank out their discredited myth of a massacre having taken place in Tiananmen Square in 1989. The photos of the Tank Man allegedly blocking tanks from entering Tiananmen Square will form a major part of the disinformation. The fact is that the tanks were leaving the city, and it was the day after the mythologized massacre. The tanks did all they could to avoid colliding with the citizen who placed himself in front of the tanks. Alas, the monopoly media disinformation storm is already upon us.

Human Rights Watch, funded by the anti-communist Georg Soros, published an article about a bloody crackdown that demands: The Chinese government should acknowledge responsibility for the mass killing of pro-democracy demonstrators and provide redress for victims and family members.

The United States government-funded Radio Free Asia historizes, Troops aligned with hardliners shot their way to Tiananmen Square to commit one of the worst massacres in modern Chinese history. RFA was originally operated by the CIA to broadcast anti-Communist propaganda.

The CBC quotes Tiananmen Square survivor Yang Jianli, now a resident in Washington, DC, who was at Tiananmen Square in 1989 and spoke of how a nationwide pro-democracy movement in 1989 ended in the bloodshed of Tiananmen Square massacre.

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani says the country will form new regional and extra-regional alliances to enhance security.

A joint alliance with naval forces of Iran and regional countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Iraq, will be set up soon, Irani said in a televised interview on Saturday.

Today, regional countries have realized that the establishment of security in the region requires synergy and cooperation.

The commander said Iran and Oman have held several joint naval drills in the past but other countries are now eager for collective naval cooperation, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Pakistan and India.

He said Iran, Russia and China are expanding a previously formed naval coalition.

Irani said virtually all the countries located in the northern areas of the Indian Ocean have come to the conclusion that they should stand by Iran and jointly establish security through enhanced synergy.

The contours of the regional alliance is coming into shape a year after the Israeli regime announced that it, together with the United States and their regional Arab allies, would establish what they called a Middle East NATO to counter the influence of Iran in the region.

The concept was hyped by American and Israeli military officials ahead of President Joe Bidens visit to the Middle East last July. The aim was to forge better coordination between the allies to defend each other against perceived Iranian threats.

The Israeli dream of an anti-Iran alliance, however, has been shattered as a number of Persian Gulf Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia, have since begun shifting their alliances and restoring their relations with Iran.

At War on the Rocks they paint a dark picture of the state of the Ukrainian military. Their intent is to get money for more training, thus the real picture may be less dark than they describe. But even if one takes that into account it is still a sad state for an army that has been at war for more than a year. Some excerpts:

Based on our nine months of training with all services of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to include the Ground Forces (Army), Border Guard Service, National Guard, Naval Infantry (Marines), Special Operations Forces, and Territorial Defense Forces, we have observed a series of common trends: lack of mission command, effective training, and combined arms operations; ad hoc logistics and maintenance; and improper use of special operations forces. These trends have undermined Ukraines resistance and could hinder the success of the ongoing offensive.

What ongoing offensive?

Under mission command, the German Auftragstaktik, the leader disseminates his intent (to attack through the northern woods to take town x) and authority to subunits that is passed down with the mission to empower subordinates at all levels. Each subunits can make its plans to coordinate and execute the mission as best as possible. The contrast is an order command where every detail of execution is ordered from the top down. Both have advantages but to have a mixed system, as Ukraine currently has, is the worst of all places.

And this week Irish lawmakers are pushing a plan to kill off 200,000 cows to reach their global warming goals.

The Irish government is considering an initiative to significantly reduce the number of dairy cows in order to reach its climate change targets.

A target of reducing emissions from farming in Ireland by a quarter by 2030 has been set by government.

One proposal to achieve this is by reducing the national dairy herd by 10%, the equivalent of removing 65,000 cows a year for three years, according to the Irish Independent.

Minister for agriculture Charlie McConalogue told Irish radio station RTE Morning Ireland that a dairy vision group with farmer representatives has been looking into a range of options to reduce emissions on farm.

The Irish Department of Agriculture responded to the reports.

It was reported yesterday the cows would have to be culled at a cost of 600,000 to taxpayers over the next three years to meet climate emissions targets.

Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, is taking a huge financial hit in the wake of its troubling advertising campaign featuring a transgender influencer. While some observers initially believed the move only had the potential to alienate more conservative beer drinkers, it has actually driven away a far broader base of consumers, and the effects are still being felt three months later.

The beer company has lost a remarkable $15.7 billion from its market value after teaming up with Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender activist. The partnership was launched during the NCAA basketball championships, when the activist shared a sponsored post on their Instagram account promoting March Madness. The video showed Mulvaney dressed like Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast at Tiffanys while drinking cans of Bud Light featuring her face on them.

Much of the woke crowd is whining that the people who are boycotting Bud Light are simply bigots who are intolerant of transgenderism, but Beer Business Daily editor Harry Schuhmacher believes its more about people wanting to avoid debates at a time when political division is already extremely high in the U.S.

Most people dont care about this issue and dont want to get roped into a conversation, he said. Therefore, theyre not going to buy the beer.

Switching brands is very easy given the broad range of alternative beers, and some people may simply be looking to avoid bringing political discussions into their leisure time. In a big hit for Anheuser-Busch, their competitors have added an incredible $3.2 billion in market value to their own brands while Bud Light keeps dropping.

The owner of Coors Lite, Molson Coors, has seen its market value rise by 20 percent to $2.2 billion, while Heineken is enjoying a $1 billion rise. Bud Light sales, meanwhile, were down by 23 percent for the week ending on May 6.

The company has been scrambling to deal with the backlash. They recently informed wholesalers that they will buy back any cases of the beer that are not sold before they expire. They also launched a promotion called the U.S Budweiser Family Memorial Day Rebate online, which offers a rebate of up to $15 on a 15-pack of Bud Light; some retailers set their prices for the packs at $15 so the beer would be free for consumers once they obtain the rebate in hopes of moving unwanted stock.

This is stunning. It is highly unlikely youll get a disparity like this if vaccines arent triggering autism. Its about the same as the chance of throwing a fair coin 58 times and getting all heads: 1 chance in 2.8e17 which is about as close to impossible as you will ever find in nature.

But the more stunning thing is that no autism researcher in the world has ever even thought to ask such a question. Ever.

In nearly 100 years, there are no papers in the scientific literature that have ever looked at this. Zero. Zip. Nada.

If Im wrong, nearly every pediatrician in the world should have roughly even stats for # cases within 1 month before a vaccine appointment vs. 1 month after a vaccine appointment.

All you have to do is name one pediatrician who has more autism reports from parents 1 month before the childs vaccination visit vs. 1 month after the childs vaccination visit. Just one.

If vaccines dont cause autism, then half the pediatricians in the world should have statistics that satisfy the challenge.

Military equipment and small arms provided by several NATO nations, including the US, ended up in the hands of militants who launched a cross-border raid into Russias Belgorod region in May, the Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing sources linked to US intelligence.

At least four tactical vehicles initially supplied to the Ukrainian military by the US and Poland were employed in the May raid, raising concerns about Kievs commitment to fulfilling the demands of its Western supporters, the sources told WaPo.

The US and its Western allies have consistently expressed opposition to the use of Western arms by Ukraine in attacks on Russian territory. They also urged Kiev to carefully track the billions of dollars worth of weapons that have flowed into the country, WaPo reported.

The attack in question occurred in late May, and in response, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that over 70 Ukrainian terrorists, four armored combat vehicles, and five pickup trucks had been destroyed in the clash in Belgorod. Citizen activism to bring about changes in how brutal wars are conducted is extremely difficult, but not impossible.  Citizens have successfully pushed through the United Nations General Assembly treaties to abolish nuclear weapons and to ban the use of landmines and cluster munitions.

Of course, countries that want to continue to use these weapons will not follow the lead of the vast majority of countries in the world and sign those treaties.  The United States and the other eight nuclear armed countries have refused to sign the treaty to abolish nuclear weapons.  Likewise, the United States and 15 other countries, including Russia and China, have refused to sign the ban on the use cluster bombs.  The United States and 31 other countries, including Russia and China, have refused to sign the treaty on the ban on land mines.

However, the fact that rogue, war mongering countries, such as the United States, refuse to sign treaties that the majority of the countries of the world want, does not deter people of conscience and social responsibility from trying to bring these countries to their senses for the sake of the survival of the human species.

We know that we are up against rich weapons manufacturers that buy the favor of politicians in these war nations through their political campaign donations and other largesse.

A clandestine UK Government unit dubbed the Counter-Disinformation Unit (CDU) has been implicated in a troubling endeavor to curb and control online discussions about the controversial Covid-19 lockdown policies. The covert operation allegedly involved the collaboration of social media companies in a strategic bid to quell supposed domestic threats.

According to revelations from Freedom of Information requests and data protection requests from The Telegraph, posts critical of Covid-19 restrictions, including those questioning mass vaccination of children, were systematically removed.

Social media companies are now under scrutiny following allegations that their technologies were deployed to thwart the wide circulation or promotion of posts tagged as potentially problematic by the CDU or its Cabinet Office equivalent.

The files revealed the surreptitious monitoring of critics of the Governments Covid plans. Artificial intelligence firms were reportedly enlisted by the government to search social media platforms, flagging any discussions opposing vaccine passports.

In a startling revelation, the BBC was implicated in clandestine government policy discussions regarding this alleged misinformation.

The CDU, hosted by the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS), operated a trusted flagger system with major social media companies. This mechanism expedited requests for content removal. The CDU, still operational, was formed in 2019, initially focusing on the European elections, later shifting its attention to the pandemic.

Critics, including MPs and freedom of speech campaigners, have labeled the revelations as truly chilling and a strategy tantamount to censoring British citizens a tactic likened to those of the Chinese Communist Party.

Any attempt by governments to shut down legitimate debate is hugely concerning, but to discover that DCMS actively sought to censor the views of those who were speaking up for childrens welfare is truly chilling, said Miriam Cates, a Conservative MP to The Telegraph.

A government spokesman refuted the allegations, stating that the unit was designed to track narratives and trends using publicly available information to safeguard public health and national security. Recently Ive been thinking about the old French folktale, Bluebeard. For readers who are unfamiliar with the story, Bluebeard is a nobleman who has been married six previous times to young women who have all mysteriously vanished. Wikipedia provides a succinct account of what happens when he marries a seventh time.

[A neighbors youngest daughter who decides to marry him] goes to live with him in his rich and luxurious palace in the countryside, away from her family.

Bluebeard announces that he must leave for the country and gives the palace keys to his wife. She is able to open any room with them, each of which contain some of his riches, except for an underground chamber that he strictly forbids her to enter lest she suffer his wrath. He then goes away, leaves the palace, and the keys in her hands. She invites her sister, Anne, and her friends and cousins over for a party. However, she is eventually overcome with the desire to see what the secret room holds, and she sneaks away from the party and ventures into it.

She immediately discovers that the room is flooded with blood and the murdered corpses of Bluebeards previous six wives hanging on hooks from the walls. Horrified, she drops the key in the blood and flees the room.

Ive long been intrigued by Bluebeard as an archetypal expression of the horror we may experience when we become curious to know what is going on behind the closed doors of power. Bluebeard is a powerful nobleman who is apparently beyond the law. His young bride is an ordinary girl who becomes implacably curious to see all of the rooms of his castle, which seem to symbolize the rooms of his soul.

The sudden escalation of the situation in the Balkans in the past few days has drawn great concern from the international community. From May 26, when the Kosovo authorities forced the inauguration of the Albanian mayor, triggering protests and demonstrations from the Serbs, to May 29 when violent clashes broke out between NATO peacekeeping troops and Serb protesters, which injured dozens of people, and then to the commander of NATOs peacekeeping troops in Kosovos latest warning that the situation there is very dangerous and that any incident could lead to an escalation of the situation, it makes people wonder whether conflicts in Kosovo, known as the powder keg of the Balkans, will resume. There are also concerns over a repeat of something similar to the 1999 Kosovo War.

In 1999, NATO brazenly launched a 78-day bombing of Yugoslavia, which not only resulted in a large number of casualties and property losses, but also left behind a hidden danger in this land. The bloody conflict this time is one of the consequences of this bane. Under the manipulation of the US and NATO, it was arranged for Kosovo, an autonomous province belonging to the former Yugoslav Republic of Serbia, to be administered by the United Nations as a transition. A few years later, Kosovo unilaterally declared independence and was immediately recognized by some Western countries. In other words, it was the US and NATO that forcibly divided Serbia through bombing and despicable political tactics. This is the root of that bane.

It should be said that the ins and outs of the escalation of tensions this time are clear. Serbs in four Serb-inhabited cities in northern Kosovo boycotted the local election in April because the Kosovo authorities forced them to change their license plates and refused to fulfill the requirements of the 2013 Brussels Agreement to establish a Serb self-governing body. In response to the election results, which had a turnout rate of less than 5 percent and only 1,500 voters, the Kosovo authorities insisted executing the result and even used special police to escort the elected candidates into the city hall, which triggered conflicts. Tensions between the two parties reached a peak.

Due to complex historical issues, reality, and ethnic and religious factors, the Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo have been in constant conflict over the years. The reason why the conflict between the two sides has reached the critical point of crisis outbreak recently is related to the imbalance in the political and security situation in Europe since the Ukraine crisis began. The European Union will stress test Twitter and other platforms to see how well they comply with the upcoming censorship law, the Digital Services Act (DSA), whose enforcement will begin in August. In a similar style program to that created by the Chinese Communist Party, where government enforcers visit tech companies directly, a team of 10 digital specialists will visit the companies later this month, said Thierry Breton, the EU Commissioner for Internal Market.

The test will help companies learn how the DSA will be enforced. Breton, who will also visit the companies, said the team will review how platforms respond to what is problematic content under the law including content that has been flagged by the EU and content that has not been flagged.

The team will also review why some content is not flagged, citing an example of fake news that caused disturbances but was promoted because it generated virality and advertising.

Did you have enough moderators beforehand? Was it promoted by the algorithm? Breton said. We want to do this for real, in the real world, so they see how it happens, and above all so they prepare, Breton said.

Some of the findings from the test will be made public while some will only be communicated to the companies.

In an interview where he talked about the visits to the social media companies, Breton said: Im not threatening anyone. We are here to help companies comply with our new law.

Last week, after Twitter withdrew from the voluntary Code of Conduct on Disinformation, Breton warned: You can run but you cant hide, adding that fighting disinformation will be legal obligation under #DSA as of August 25.

In the old Soviet Union, citizens were not required to be a member of the Communist Party. But if you were not, you could never expect to rise far professionally or socially. You would never be the head of a department in university, a factory manager, much less the General Secretary. They were always recruited out of the party.

Party membership was proof of loyalty. It was a demonstration that you were willing to put loyalty over morality. Rising high in the party also meant that others in the ruling class likely had something on you. No one gained power without other powerful people knowing of your grim deeds. That way there was mutual trust, or, to put it another way, mutual blackmail.

Honor among thieves only holds true for those who are guilty of thievery.

The system was the same in Nazi Germany. You didnt have to join the party but if you refused, you could not rise in academia, military, or government. And everyone knew the rules. The party controlled the state, and members of the party controlled you. Only the members of the party were trusted with responsibility and rewarded with emoluments.

We are headed this way in the US today.

The party in question is the lockdown party. Far from having repudiated this brutal, rights-violating, and ineffective method of pandemic management, the ruling class is doubling down. Even more than that, those who participated in the fiasco are being rewarded. Indeed, participation is now seen as proof of loyalty and a demonstration that one can be trusted by the people who matter.

Thats my best read on why Mandy Cohen is being pulled away from her perch in North Carolina, where she led a catastrophic pandemic response, to be the replacement for Rochelle Walensky as head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is a faithful member of the lockdown party and thus demonstrates her willingness to do it again should the occasion arise.

This is not going to help the CDC recover from its terrible reputation.

Going through her timeline is a strange blast from the past of heartbreaking fear-mongering, pseudo-science, and propaganda. She passed with flying colors all three tests of compliance: closures, masking, and vaccine mandates.

If you believed there was ever any science behind any of this, Mandy inadvertently revealed otherwise. They made decisions based on some weird club of lockdowners that gained a feeling of power and control simply by chit-chatting on the phone with each other. It was all arbitrary and completely disregarding of human rights.

A UK government-funded artificial intelligence (AI) firm based in an unassuming industrial estate in Yorkshire, England, has been engaged in state surveillance, monitoring the social media posts of citizens, a recent revelation suggests.

Logically, the firm in question, has earned over 1.2 million (1.49 million USD) from government contracts to identify and analyze disinformation and misinformation spread across social media.

The AI company was started by Lyric Jain, a 27-year-old Cambridge engineering graduate, who launched the technology first during Indian elections. With one of the largest dedicated fact-checking teams globally, the company sifts through material from hundreds of thousands of media sources and all public posts on major social media platforms.

Logically has bagged lucrative deals, including a 1.2 million (1.49 million USD) contract with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and another worth up to 1.4 million (1.7 million uSD) with the Department of Health and Social Care to monitor threats to high-profile vaccine service individuals, The Telegraph reported. Its client list includes US federal agencies, the Indian electoral commission, TikTok, and Facebook.

While Logically asserts that it does not share evidence collected for the UK Government with Facebook, this partnership has ignited concerns among freedom of speech campaigners.

The companys responsibilities grew over time, aiding in building a comprehensive picture of potentially harmful misinformation and disinformation. Documents revealed that it produced regular Covid-19 Mis/Disinformation Platform Terms of Service Reports for the Counter-disinformation Unit a secretive operation within the DCMS.

A public document titled Covid-19 Disinformation in the UK disclosed Logicallys perspective, referring to anti-lockdown and anti-Covid-19 vaccine sentiment, along with hashtags #sackvallance and #sackwhitty as evidence of a strong disdain for expert advice.

Logically defended its actions, stating that it is possible for content not specifically mis- or disinformation to be included in a report if there is a potential for a narrative to be weaponized.
