It was the Director of the National Security Agency, Admiral Mike Rogers, who, according to Sundance, went behind his bosss back, the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, to tell President-Elect Donald Trump that his transition offices in Trump Tower were bugged by the FBI. Clapper, you may remember, was the man who obviously lied before a Congressional committee during a televised hearing and got off without even a wrist slap. Everyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear knows that Hillary Clinton should already be in prison. Hillary was to keep stealing and dealing for as long as she did because of the three corrupt people, name. former President Obama, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and fired FBI director, James Comey. However, none of these three are a in a position where they protect the beneficiary of the most corrupt criminal enterprise on the planet, The Clinton Foundation. Then why isnt Hillary Clinton locked up as current President Donald Trump has stated on multiple occasions? The answer to the question is that there is a fourth person who is just as corrupt and willing to commit malfeasance of office in order to keep Hillary Clinton a free woman and that person would be the obstructionist Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The case of Russian collusion being levied against President Trump has collapsed. In multiple MSM outlets it has been convincingly demonstrated that the Clinton Foundation and the DNC paid $12 million for the fake Russian Dossier to be created and then used as a fraud against the President and the American people. The dossier was then used to falsely try and implicate President Trump for conspiracy to collaborate with the Russians designed to defraud the 2016 general election campaign.
Clintons actions even led to the use of a British spy who fabricated evidence against the President. In the process, elections laws were broken and the President was falsely smeared. This dossier became the reason for the special counsel, Congressional hearings and wall-to-wall news media false allegations against President Trump. This dossier was even used for FISA warrants for eavesdropping on the President and his staff as well as being used for several instances of u...
Fruit and vegetable prices in major cities in central and northern China have surged after severe winter weather cut off highways and damaged crops, the government said late on Saturday. Parts of highways connecting Henan, Shanxi, Shandong, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces were blocked. In northern Shanxi province, greenhouses for vegetables collapsed under the weight of snow, footage on state television showed on Sunday. "More than 45,000 acres of fruit trees, tea farms as well as greenhouses for vegetable have been damaged by freezing rains and snow," the Ministry of Agriculture said, adding that wheat planting could be delayed due to the cold weather.
Vice President Mike Pence's chief lawyer and domestic policy director are leaving his office at the beginning of the new year, according to four sources familiar with the staff turnover. The moves come amid high tensions and staff turnover in the Trump administration thanks to the ongoing Russia probe and a new tell-all book about West Wing happenings. "These moves have been in the works for weeks," the vice president's communications director confirmed to CNN. CNN has learned that longtime senior staffers Mark Paoletta and Daris Meeks are leaving Pence's office. The announcement was made by chief of staff Nick Ayers in a staff meeting at the beginning of the week.
Good morning, Im still reporting on: The Truth About Bannon, 1965 Synopsis: The general health of the coup is crumbling, but not yet broken. Bannons cheap backstabbing was a surprise to me, but not to the Trumps. Obviously, Bannon has been compromised, and from his appearance, its not hard to imagine any one of several ways that may have been accomplished. In any case, Bannon has super shot himself in both feet and has damaged him brand irreparably. The Breitbart Board is considering booting him from all connections. According to Newt Gingrich, the only two newsrooms he will be welcomed in will be MSNBC and the CNNs as a Trump basher. Thats not a good place to be because youll always have an uphill credibility battle because you are working against the right side of history. Even if Romney can win the vacated Senate seat of Orin Hatch, the remnant of the Never-Trumpers wouldnt trust Bannon with a Chinese fortune cookie. But the most devastating one-two punch was delivered by Donald Trump, Jr. in two tweets on Wednesday afternoon: [read from his tweet, not quotes] "Wow, Just looked at the comments section on Breitbart. Wow. When Bannon has lost Breitbart, hes left with . . . umm, nothing." Then three hours later, at 5:14 pm, Don Jr. delivered the coup de grce. "Steve had the honor of working in the White House & serving the country. Unfortunately, he squandered that privilege & turned that opportunity into a nightmare of backstabbing, harassing, leaking, lying & undermining the President. Steve is not a strategist, he is an opportunist." Support Our Sponsors: - Virtual Shield VPN - the easiest way to create a home VPN.
Theres something to be said for the feel of controls. Whether its the satisfying snap of a high-quality switch or the buttery touch of the pots on an expensive amplifier, the tactile experience of the controls you interact with says a lot about a device.
[GreatScott!] knows this, and rather than put up with the bump and grind of a cheap rotary encoder, he decided to find an alternative. He ended up exploring hard drive motors as encoders, and while the results arent exactly high resolution, he may be onto something. Starting with a teardown of some old HDDs save those magnets! [Scott!] found that the motors fell into either the four-lead or three-lead categories. Knowing that HDD motors are brushless DC motors, he reasoned that the four-lead motors had their three windings in Wye configuration with the neutral point brought out to an external connection. A little oscilloscope work showed the expected three-phase output when the motor hub was turned, with the leading and lagging phases changing as the direction of rotation was switched. Hooked to an Arduino, the motor made a workable encoder, later improved by sending each phase through a comparator and using digital inputs rather than using the Nanos DACs.
It looks like [GreatScott!]s current setup only responds to a full rotation of the makeshift encoder, but wed bet resolution could be improved. Perhaps this previous post on turning BLDC motors into encoders will help.
Donald Trump didnt want to be president. History had another idea.

If this column had a hobby horse through 2016, it was that Donald Trump didnt want to be president. Our fear, after the election, was that he would basically refuse to take the job fully on.
Whatever its flights of fancy, Michael Wolffs new book documents this most interesting reality, from which all the administrations early chaos flowed. His entourage, right up to election night, believed not only would Trump not be president, almost everyone in the campaign agreed, he should probably not be.
This was obvious at the time except to Never Trumpers who were too busy trying to protect their reputations from a Trumpism that didnt exist, from a guy who represented much less than they imagined, malign or otherwise.
One sorry upshot is that a significant part of the conservative commentariat is missing the great political story of our time because they cant stop writing about themselves.
Along the way they also muffed what parties are for. In a two-party system, they arent, and cant be, vessels of immutable principle.
The partiesspecifically the Republican Partyturn out to be one more American institution capable of bending without breaking, affording (in this case) a way for voters to register exhaustion with the political status quo, even if the end result has the flavor of an accident.
Though, when an accident has so many authors it begins to seem like something more. Hillary Clinton and her Democrats whiffed on the bigges...

The lending business is heavily stacked against student borrowers. Bigger players can borrow for almost nothing, and if their investments dont work out, they can put their corporate shells through bankruptcy and walk away. Not so with students. Their loan rates are high and if they cannot pay, their debts are not normally dischargeable in bankruptcy. Rather, the debts compound and can dog them for life, compromising not only their own futures but the economy itself. Students should not be asked to pay more on their debt than they can afford, said Donald Trump on the presidential campaign trail in October 2016. And the debt should not be an albatross around their necks for the rest of their lives.

[Of the] coot. It is a winged creature, fairly clever and very wise; it does not feed on corpses and it does not fly or wander aimlessly but stays in one place until it dies, finding both food and rest there.
Let every one of the faithful, therefore, maintain himself and live like that; let them not scurry around, straying this way and that, down different paths, as heretics do; let them not be enticed by the desires and pleasures of this world; but let them stay in one place, finding peace in in the catholic Church, where the Lord provides a dwelling-place for those who are spiritually in harmony, and there let them subsist daily on the bread of immortality, drinking the precious blood of Christ, refreshing themselves on the most sweet words of the Lord, sweeter than honey and the honeycomb (Psalms, 19:10)

Adidas chief Kasper Rorsted is calling on Europe to restore relations with Russia. Speaking to German media, the head of the popular footwear, clothing and accessories company stressed that sanctions harm the West just as much as Russia. "Anyone who thinks that sanctions only punish Russia is wrong," Rorsted said, speaking to Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper. "They've led to the loss of many jobs in the West. Politicians prefer to keep silent about this fact."

For the past several years, the marijuana industry and its customers have been relying on a piece of paper an Obama-era document known as the Cole memo to indulge in their business and pleasure mostly without fear of arrest by federal agents. On Thursday, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions rescinded that document. Observers took it as a sign that a large-scale cannabis crackdown could be on the way. But could Sessionss move actually turn out to be good news for legalization supporters? The development generated immediate and intense pushback from federal and state officials, from both sides of the aisle. And it wasnt just the usual suspects of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus chiming in.

Menendez: when President Trump announced that his administration was recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and would move the US embassy from Tel Aviv it marked the end of decades of American policy in the Middle East. He said it was only a recognition of reality but the status of Jerusalem is one of the thorniest issues in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians: so sensitive that its always been put to one side during 40 [sic] years of US brokered peace efforts. The rest of the world has never recognised Israels occupation of the eastern part of the city. T...

Cushions for Steamer Chairs - Their eyes extends to a eye catching piece in the room whenever someone walks into a room. People comment on pieces in a room when they walk in. This spikes a dialog about the piece, in which you purchased it at, and whats unique about that item you got it. A great rocking chair can do just that for any room in your home.
1st Pick a theme and color: decorate a space can be enjoyable and a bit of time consuming. Figuring out how to redecorate a room begins with item or a wonderful idea. Men and women use the Internet to find unique items when redecorating any room in the house. This is an excellent alternative to driving around for hours looking at items in different shops, spending weeks and weeks searching for items.
People have topics for decorating a kid's room. If you've got a small women who loves princesses, or ballerina or dance or certain colors, their are lots of rocking chairs that fit. Their are lots of rocking chairs that match that theme, when you have a boy who loves sports, race cars, motorcycles, farms, trains, fire engines. Some kids just love animals, horses are loved by many children and a terrific piece for a child's room would be a rocking horse or rockers. Rockers are similar to a horse but instead of a horse its a cow. Whats also nice hunting on the web for accent pieces or topics, is when you find something about a web site or ecommerce store, they sometimes have items relating to motif or the identical item. An ecommerce shop is a shop online selling items like Walmart or even Meijers does, but you purchase online and pay transportation in some cases rather than gas.
In this extract from his new book, Johann Hari, who took antidepressants for 14 years, calls for a new approach In the 1970s, a truth was accidentally discovered about depression - one that was quickly swept aside, because its implications were too inconvenient, and too explosive. American psychiatrists had produced a book that would lay out, in detail, all the symptoms of different mental illnesses, so they could be identified and treated in the same way across the United States. It was called the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. In the latest edition, they laid out nine symptoms that a patient has to show to be diagnosed with depression - like, for example, decreased interest in pleasure or persistent low mood. For a doctor to conclude you were depressed, you had to show five of these symptoms over several weeks.

Andrew Therrien was getting dunned for payment on a loan he never took out, so he went on a one-man vendetta against loan sharks. He had special skills: not guns, but persistence and persuasion, and he eventually tracked down the company and the man who had made millions by inventing fake debt and selling it to collection agencies.
Therrien soon obtained two crucial sets of documents to that end. In March 2016 he flew to California to meet a debt broker, who handed over some contracts Tucker had signed. Separately, Therrien received an email from the manager of a collection agency, to whose conscience hed spent weeks appealing. The email, whose subject line read Have faith in the good in heart, included actual phantom-debt files, with names and Social Security numbers. The metadata yielded a new name: Rob Harsh, Tuckers IT guy. (The author of the email died of a drug overdose a few months later.)
In May 2016, Therrien emailed his discoveries to the FTC. A lawyer replied right away: Andrew, we need to talk about this. Therrien also gave his intel to some private lawyers who were going after Tucker in Texas. They contacted Harsh, and in August 2016 he submitted an affidavit to the court. Harsh, who declined to comment for this story, testified that Tucker had asked him to manipulate a database of almost 8 million payday-loan applications, writing in a made-up lender and adding an amount owed of $300 for each person.
Therrien had been right all along.
Whats discouraging, though, is that there were all these cracks in government regulation in the first place, and that the agencies that should have been hunting down and crushing these cockroaches werent getting anywhere.
(CK) Only 30 per cent of the costs associated with climate-related weather events have been covered by insurance over the past 10 years, leaving the public sector and civil society with a $1.7 trillion bill.
Thats the conclusion of new research by the ClimateWise initiative, a group of 28 leading insurance firms based out of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. The number of natural catastrophes has increased sixfold since 1950, multiplying financial damages incurred 500 per cent up to $170 billion.
At the same time, the insurance gap on these losses has increased to $100 billion. The spectre of more frequent and destructive weather events has forced insurance companies to raise rates across the board, leaving many areas of the globe effectively uninsurable. Cities in developing countries have been hit particularly hard.
This not only leaves society less prepared to handle the shocks of climate change, but also places the global insurance market at risk of losing its market share. ClimateWise is encouraging its member insurers to help society become more physically resilient to the risks, benchmarking each members progress against their peers with an independent review.
This year, insurers were encouraged to disclose against the Financial Stability Boards Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure recommendations. The greatest improvement was found through efforts to incorporate climate change into each companys investment strategies, a key theme highlighted in an earlier report by ClimateWise in 2016 titled Investing for Resilience.
Industry leaders now have the opportunity to step up to the challenge outlined by the Paris Climate Agreement, said ClimateWise program manager Tom Herbstein in 2016. In particular, the industry must help shift capital flows into climate-resilient assets and resilience-enhancing investments rather than simply struggling to maintain its current underwriting exposure.
The report recommended that insurers introduce a resiliency ratings system for their investment portfolios, as well as increase support for green bonds, resilience impact bonds and resiliency-focused infrastructure.
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is being accused by extremely angry members of the Florida Republican Party of rigging the National Committeewoman race to keep the establishment in place and sabotage popular pro-Trump candidate Karen Giorno.
Jimmy Patronis (@JimmyPatronis) January 6, 2018
Giorno was Trumps Florida director during the primaries as well as a senior adviser working in Trump Tower during the general election. She has also previously worked in the Bush White House and as Governor Rick Scotts director of external affairs.
According to Maryann Pistilli, a grassroots activist who got her start with the Tea Party and went on to become a co-chair for the Trump campaign in Florida as well and a regional director for the RPOF, the treatment Giorno was subjected to by the state party was like nothing she had ever seen before.
We were treated so rudely up there, I was employee of theirs so were these other women, Pistilli, audibly upset, said of the treatment of herself, Giorno and the other women who were stumping for her by her former employers. These women that were with me worked their butts off during the election to help our party win and they were treated with such disrespect!
She described the RPOF as infested with Never-Trumpers and recalled an incident where one of the women she was with handed an invitation to Giornos reception to a party chairwoman and she crumpled it up in a ball and threw it at them. Thats the RPOF, Pistilli said, dismayed.
Speaking to the Gateway Pundit on the condition of anonymity due to their role within the party, someone heavily involved in the election detailed how Rubio made an unannounced visit to the partys quarterly meeting in Orlando on Saturday to personally lobby against Giorno after realizing that she was going to win.
He rigged it, they stated.
Giorno was responsible for the Florida primary, she cleared the field for Trump, the source told the Gateway Pundit. When you clear the field for the anti-establishment candidate, you dont make a lot of friends.
Pro-Trump singer and political commentator Kaya Jones has told the Gateway Pundit that the Secretary of State for Cherokee Nation is threatening to team up with other tribes to sue her for $50 million over her role at the National Diversity Coalition for Trump.
In December, Jones was named as the Native American Ambassador for Trump by the NDC. The former Pussycat Doll has a Native American father, Jamaican mother and is a strong voice within the MAGA movement so the position seemed to be a natural fit for the artist given her culturally diverse upbringing.
Now, she is being threatened with a lawsuit by people who claim, without basis, that she is lying about her fathers heritage.
Though her father is Apache, many Native Americans immediately began attacking the singer and accusing her of lying about her ancestry. Jones told GWP that reporters and trolls have even been calling her relatives to harass them with questions and accusations about her family.
Her father, she told us, was removed from his reservation as a baby and she does not know much about his history.
I genuinely want to find my heritage and learn about my fathers people and really need the Indigenous community to guide this path, Jones told Gateway.
In addition to the harassment aimed at her family, Jones says she has been facing a barrage of threats and her Wikipedia page has been repeatedly vandalized.
Ive received death threats, bullying, slander, deformation, intellectual property right attacked, parents attacked, family attacked, and now a lawsuit being filed against me for what? all because I was appointed to the NDC. Wow! Really mature guys! God help you! Youll need it!

POOL/AFP | Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chairs the weekly cabinet meeting at his office in Jerusalem on January 7, 2018
Israeli officials also criticise the agencys method of classifying refugees, with descendants also eligible to register.
UNRWA is an organisation that perpetuates the Palestinian refugee problem, Netanyahu said at the beginning of his weekly cabinet meeting.
He said that while millions of other refugees around the world were cared for by the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Palestinians have their own body which also treats great-grandchildren of refugees who arent refugees.
This absurd situation must be ended, Netanyahu said.
In June, Netanyahu said he had raised the issue with Washingtons UN envoy Nikki Haley.
On Wednesday, Trump threatened to cut aid worth more than $300 million annually to the Palestinians in a bid to force them to negotiate.
The United States has long provided the Palestinian Authority with much-needed budgetary support and security assistance, as well as an additional $304 million for UN programmes in the West Bank and Gaza.
A Friday report on Israeli Channel 10 television said the US had frozen a payment due to UNRWA, but a spokesman for the UN organisation said on Saturday that they have not been informed directly of a formal decision either way by the US administration.
UNRWA runs hundreds of schools for Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.
It also distributes aid and provides teacher training centres, health clinics and social services.
Many analysts, including Israelis, warn that closing the agency without having an effective replacement could lead to further poverty and perhaps violence.
While UNRWA is far from perfect, the Israeli defence establishment, and the Israeli government as a whole, have o...

UFOs, Tesla, DeLonge, ETs, covert ops
By Jon Rappoport
I have harnessed the cosmic rays and caused them to operate a motive device. Nikola Tesla, Brooklyn Eagle (10 July 1931)
This is a what if story. But its also based on decades of experience analyzing propaganda and cover stories.
Its based on the knowledge that military and intelligence operatives are trained to lie, and they like to lie, and they get up in the morning, licking their chops, because they know theyre going to lie during another day in paradise.
Is Tesla and his breakthrough science the hidden element in UFO research? Is he being buried under a welter of cover stories? In any event, cover stories ARE being floated in great numbers.
Nikola Tesla and other outlier scientists were researching anti-gravity in the 20th century. Upon his death, Teslas research papers were stolen by the government and never released.
What has the US government been doing at secret research facilities since World War 2 such as the famed Lockheed Skunkworks in Palmdale, Californiaand whose technology have they been using?
Have they been advancing Teslas (and other outlier scientists) work? They would certainly try.
Would this US research be pointed toward building military craft capable of extraordinary speeds and maneuverability? Certainly.
Could this technology, at the root, have other applicationssuch as new modes of energy production that would eliminate the need for an oil economy? Possibly.
That would be a key reason for secrecy. Absolute secrecy.
If secrecy was the goal, extensive cover stories would have been developed and pushedto this day.
And what better way to disseminate those stories than through government insiders, who feed information to UFO spokespeople?
The UFOs are ET alien.
Im not saying this notion must be entirely falseIm saying it can be USED to bury the root truth.
If secret technological advancesfrom science and scientists here on Earthin the areas of energy, transportation, and space travelwould a cause a revolution in societybecause a vast abundance of energy would be available for allhow would this fact be managed by oligarchs who rule through scarcity, war, and destruction?
One: float the story that advanced tech comes from ETs.
Two: wrap the ET story up in speculative fairy-tale mythologies, thus creating an occasion for scorn and mockery.
Three: via guilt by association, reject the entire idea that advanced secret technology exists, because it is married to comic book tales of ETs.
A Brevard County woman found herself in the middle of what sounds like a Stephen King horror story. The woman told Florida Highway Patrol officers that a cat jumped into her car and attacked her Friday night in a residential West Cocoa neighborhood as she attempted to drive away from a home on the block. As the unidentified woman tried to fend off the foul feline inside her vehicle somehow she bailed out of her car but forgot that it was still in reverse. She was run over by her own car as it backed up over her, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Today reported.

The UK smashed 13 clean energy records last year in the 'greenest year ever' for electricity production in the country, according to WWF analysis of National Grid data.
The sweep of new records was powered by the rise of green energy on the system, WWF said last week, with highlights including the first full day since the Industrial Revolution with no coal power, record spikes in solar and offshore wind generation, and record low prices for offshore wind.
The year's performance continues a trend of falling power sector emissions in recent years, as wind and solar replace coal power on the grid. Since 2012 Britain has halved carbon emissions in the electricity sector, and now ranks as the seventh cleanest power system in the world.

Lounge Chairs for Bedrooms - You can tell when your church seats are due for replacement. It's no secret that even worn out seating is not comfortable. They reflect to a church and are unappealing, and of course structurally unsound. Structurally compromised seating can give way at any given moment, possibly embarrassing or damaging a family member member.
When purchasing church seats, quality is non-negotiable; it is always preferable to invest in a few rows of quality seats that will endure for years to come as opposed to buy a space full of cheap chairs which will start to fall apart at the seams by the moment they're first employed. In regards to seating, you get what you purchase. While great quality chairs might not be economical, they offer you a worth that is much greater, as they will last longer than lower quality seats. Investing in chairs that are great will also offer your congregation a more comfortable environment and an worship experience.
It may be challenging to acquire church chairs if the church is financially overwhelmed by other monetary obligations. Luckily, there are a couple ideas that you can use even in the face of a church funding that is tight to ensure that you can purchase quality church chairs to your congregation.
A man surfing off South Point in Gracetown suffered bite wounds to his foot when he was injured by a suspected wobbegong shark on Friday. The surfer, known only as Justin, was pulled from the water and initially treated on shore by an off-duty nurse before he was transported to Margaret River Hospital about 6pm. Andy Gradisen was surfing alongside the man when the unknown species of shark struck and said the attack took "a small chunk" out of his mate's foot. "We were out the back of South Point and I heard Justin flapping about in the water," Mr Gradisen said. "He put his foot up and he was bleeding quite badly.

AFP / by Jacques KLOPP | Is the New Silk Road simply a path to prosperity or a Chinese power grab in disguise?
PARIS (AFP) Depending on who you ask in Europe, Chinas colossal East-West infrastructure programme is either an opportunity or a threat and when French President Emmanuel Macron visits next week, Beijing will be watching to see how keen he is to jump on board.Since China launched the New Silk Road plan in 2013, the hugely ambitious initiative to connect Asia and Europe by road, rail and sea has elicited both enormous interest and considerable anxiety.
Its the most important issue in international relations for the years to come, and will be the most important point during Emmanuel Macrons visit, said Barthelemy Courmont, a China expert at French think-tank Iris.
The $1 trillion project is billed as a modern revival of the ancient Silk Road that once carried fabric, spices, and a wealth of other goods in both directions.
Known in China as One Belt One Road, the plans would see gleaming new road and rail networks built through Central Asia and beyond, and new maritime routes stretching through the Indian Ocean and Red Sea.
Beijing would develop roads, ports and rail lines through 65 countries representing an estimate 60 percent of the worlds population and a third of its economic output.
Macron, who heads to China for a three-day state visit on Sunday, will notably be accompanied by some 50 company chiefs keen to do business with the Asian powerhouse.
So far France has been cautious on the Silk Road plan, but Courmont said Chinese leaders were waiting for a clear position from Macron at a time when they view the young leader as an engine for growth in Europe.
If Macron takes a decision on how to tackle the Chinese initiative, all of Europe will follow, Courmont predicted.
But, as Courmont acknowledges, Europe is divided on what to make of Chinas ambitions.
The continent could potentially benefit handsomely from increased trade over the coming decades, but in some corners there is suspicion that it masks an attempted Beijing influence grab.
They are notably asking themselves about the geopolitical consequences of this project in the long-term, Alice Ekman, who covers China at the French Institute of International Relations, said of France and Germany.
Two dinghies from Kopar village in Angoram district have been sent out to assist in evacuating the more than 500 people on Kadovar Island, East Sepik Province. This follows the eruption of a sleeping volcano, which erupted at least 16 hours ago. Kopar councillor Tom Kelly told this newsroom that the boats were sent out as soon as they noticed that something was wrong. However, the boats are yet to return. Kopar is the nearest island - at least a thirty-minute boat ride to Kadovar. Kelly said at the moment, thick clouds can be seen from the island, and the clouds are darker and increasing at an alarming rate. He said they are yet to receive a response from the disaster office or government.

I have ordered and will review both Fire & Fury and its counterpart book by Newt Gingrich, Understanding Trump. I will then do two reviews that I anticipate will exonerate our President while demonstrating that the GOP and DNC are guilty of massive embedded pedophilia & Satanic murder of children who have been tortured to produce adrenalized blood while also yielding bone marrow and youthful organs valued for their anti-aging properties.
Few people know that I am a Commissioner for the Commission of Inquiry into Human Trafficking & Child Exploitation, itself sponsored by the treaty-based International Tribunal for Natural Justice. I have nurtured the book Pedophilia & Empire: Satan, Sodomy, & The Deep State and am now setting in motion a second book tentatively titled: Illuminati Down: 1,000 Survivors and 100 Prisoners Expose, By-Name, the Red Shoe Blood Network From Pope to Pence to Podesta.
It is very important for the public to understand that the alternative to our President, should he be dismissed under the 25th Amendment (mentally unfit) is Mike Pence. In my view and the view of Julian Assange Mike Pence is morally unfit to be President (or Vice President). In my view our President is a disruptor who has the Deep State on the run. Mike Pence *is* the Deep State. I believe our President to be street smart and I salute Rex Tillerson for making the case so clearly in the Presidents favor.
I continue to believe that only our existing legitimately-elected (and also accidentally-elected) President can restore integrity to the US Government. My simply three-part plan for his doing so is at Trump Triumph in Three Moves.
Chinas President Xi Jinping has called on the countrys military the largest and among the most disciplined in the world to be prepared for war at all times.
On an inspection at the Central Theater Command of the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) in northern Hebei Province on Wednesday, President Xi told the countrys military forces to neither fear hardship nor death.
As head of the ruling Communist Partys Central Military Commission, Xi is commander-in-chief of Chinas more than two-million-strong armed forces, which is the largest standing military force in the world.
During his visit to the military command, Xi was seen in military attire inspecting troops, tanks, sniper training, and peering down the sights of an automatic rifle.
Be always ready for the fight, capable of combat and sure to win, he was quoted as saying by Chinese media on Thursday.
He also reportedly paid a visit to an exhibit detailing the PLAs history battling US-led forces during the Korean War.
Since assuming office in 2012, Xi has aimed to modernize the Chinese military even as the country has adopted a policy of a peaceful rise to power.
In October last year, the Chinese president urged a world-class Chinese military by 2050 and called for the upgrading of its arsenal with increasing sophisticated weaponry.
China has been involved in a territorial dispute with a number of other countries, including over the resource-rich East and South China Seas.

The Egyptian wing of Daesh Takfiri terrorists has released a new execution video, declaring war on the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement based in Gaza.
The video, released Wednesday, purports to show the execution of a man who Daesh claims cooperated with Hamas armed wing.
Never surrender to them. Use explosives, silenced pistols and sticky bombs. Bomb their courts and their security locations, for these are the pillars of tyranny that prop up its throne, said one of the militants in the video.
The Egyptian wing of Daesh, known as the Sinai Province, is notorious for its brutal massacres, including the Sinai 2015 plane crash which killed 224 passengers and mass killing of over 300 people at a Sufi mosque in Egypts Sinai Peninsula, the deadliest attack in modern Egyptian history.
The video comes as Hamas has been cooperating with Egyptian security forces to restore stability to Sinai, which borders Gaza.
In October, the Palestinian resistance movement arrested four senior Daesh terrorists in Sinai.Hamas leader Ismail Haniya (C-R) and Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip Yahya Sinwar (C-L) attend a rally marking the 30th anniversary of the Palestinian resistance movement in Gaza City on December 14, 2017. (Photo by AFP)
In July 2015, Daesh released a video saying that it would overthrow Hamas tyrants for their perceived lack of religious rulings in Gaza.
Takfiri groups such as Daesh have never attacked Israel despite operating close to Syrias borders with the occupied Palestinian territories. Israel is widely believed to be supporting terrorists in Syria by launching airstrikes against various targets there from time to time.
Meanwhile, the US and its allies, which have been conducting airstrikes against what are said to be Daesh targets inside Syria, have repeatedly been accused of providing logistic support and air cover for Daesh terrorists.
Daesh, however, lost all the territory under its control in Syria and Iraq late last year.
Toddler Rocking Chairs Personalized - If you are going to buy an easy chair, there are things that you want to keep in mind. At this time, this article will offer you a few ideas which can help you to effortlessly meet for. Thus, just take a look at the following advice. As the very first step, you need to determine about the potential size constraints for your chair you are likely to buy and also the maximum measurements might be when, for example, you are likely to move your new chair through a narrow door or if you're likely to squeeze it into a very small living space. This is essential especially once tilted back with recliners, which frequently ought to be pulled off from the wall and might block the traffic patterns.
The second step is to consider about the color since the chair will get a part of your decoration for several decades. You should select something which you could live with for long moment. You can select a neutral chair that can be updated with trendy pillow. The third step you need to do is to find the thought about the type of upholstery before you begin to store it, you would like. Actually, the tough leather can be excellent for the family with pets and toddlers. Additionally, white cotton could be fine for adults.
The next step would be to test the seat. So as to assess comfort you can attempt to sit at the chair for several minutes. In any case, as you test it, you need to consider the textures of this fabric's feel. The itchy or scratchy cloth has to be passed by. The previous step is to check whether this fabric's pattern is matched. If it is big print, a stripe, plaid, and so forth, the pattern on the rear area of the chair must line up with the pattern onto the cushion and also on down towards the front of base.

As I worked my way through the opinion pages of the Washington Post and New York Times this morning, I was struck by how blunt and harsh the tone has become toward the president. Michael Wolffs forthcoming book, Fire and Fury, has given permission to a lot of people to say what folks like me have been saying since before the inauguration, which is that Trump is not fit to serve as president and that our nations highest priority must be to remove him from office. Joe Scarborough actually knows the president on a personal level, and he honestly is not convinced that Trump can read. He refers to Trumps presidency as indefensible, which it is, and endorses the view floated by Steve Bannon that he has committed treason, which is a stretch.
Americans will be left with the inescapable conclusion that the president is not capable of fulfilling his duties as commander in chief.
The GOPs defense of this indefensible president appears even more preposterous following Wolffs revelation, in his new book, Fire and Fury, of former adviser Stephen K. Bannons observation that members of Trumps team, including his son, committed nothing less than treason.
Most of all, Scarborough wants to shame the Republicans into removing their own unstable president from office
We are a nation that spent the past 100 years inventing the modern age, winning World War I, defeating Hitler and winning World War II, and liberating half of Europe by beating the Soviets in the Cold War. But today we find ourselves dangerously adrift at home and disconnected from the allies abroad that made so many of those triumphs possible. The world wonders how the United States will survive Donald Trump. And I ask, what will finally move Republicans to deliver a non-negotiable ultimatum to this unstable president? Will they dare place their countrys interests above their own political fears? Or will they move to end thi...
Russia and China have welcomed an agreement by North and South Koreas to resume dialog after two years.
A Russian Foreign Ministry source was cited by RIA news agency on Friday as saying that Moscow hopes this positive trend will be underpinned by concrete agreements aiming at a settlement in the Korean Peninsula.
Chinas Foreign Ministry also acknowledged the concrete efforts to improve ties on the Korean Peninsula. A ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said that the talks scheduled for next week would be conducive to improving the situation on the peninsula.
North Korea on Friday agreed to an offer by South Korea to hold high-level talks on January 9.
The two Koreas have long had strained ties. The last high-level talks between the two neighbors was held in December 2015 to ease border tensions but ended without any agreement. Tensions recently skyrocketed with repeated North Korean missile and nuclear tests and increased South Korean joint military action with the United States.
However, a series of overtures between the two Koreas began when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un used his annual New Year address to express interest in dialog with the South as well as in North Korean participation in the Winter Olympic Games, to be held in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang from February 9 to 25. South Korea quickly responded by proposing the high-level talks.
Officials from the two countries will now meet in Panmunjom, the truce village located within the heavily-fortified Demilitarized Zone that divides the Korean Peninsula, on the scheduled date.
Kim later also ordered that a cross-border telephone hotline with South Korea be reopened.
The United States and South Korea have, meanwhile, agreed to delay joint military exercises until after the Winter Olympics.
Such joint maneuvers have been a main cause of tensions between the two Koreas.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has apologized to patients after the National Health Service cancelled thousands of medical operations and hospital admissions caused by the winter crisis.
I know it is difficult, I know it is frustrating, I know it is disappointing for people and I apologize, May said Thursday after visiting a hospital outside London.
The British premier said she can only hope that operations can be reinstated as soon as possible.
NHS is the publicly funded national healthcare system for England and one of the four National Health Services of the United Kingdom.
Her comments come amid growing criticism of the governments response to what is now being described as the healthcare systems winter crisis.
Earlier this week, officials at the NHS recommended that hospitals cancel all non-urgent appointments and operations until next month, meaning about 50,000 operations may be postponed.
A flu outbreak, colder weather and high levels of respiratory illnesses have put hospitals in England under strain with many operating at or near full capacity, with long waits for treatment in emergency rooms.
In June, the British Medical Association (BMA) accused the government of deliberately ignoring concerns about the countrys crisis-hit health service.
The leading doctors blamed the British government for a health system running on fumes in the absence of necessary health spending.
Critics have warned that May is making the NHS staffing crisis worse by refusing to guarantee the rights of European citizens.
UKs opposition Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said Mays response to t...
We publish here, as an insert, a fragment from Murtaza Hussains article on the Iranian protests, which can be read in full at theintercept.com.
Over the past week, tens of thousands of people in dozens of cities across Iran have braved bullets and tear gas in a public outpouring of dissent against the countrys ruling establishment. Videos of demonstrations shared on social media have shown protesters smashing government-owned banks, tearing down posters of government officials, and at times calling for the end of clerical rule in the country. At least 22 people are reported to have been killed since the unrest began December 28, with human rights groups saying hundreds more were detained by security forces.
The outbreak and nature of the unrest have taken many analysts of Iranian politics by surprise. Rather than emerging from liberal Tehran, these protests appear to have originated in working-class conservative cities and towns that the Islamic Republic likes to depict as its core constituency. One group of people, however, has long expected such an outbreak of discontent from the economically disadvantaged people in these areas: Iranian labor activists.
Working people in Iran have been dreaming of a better life for four decades, but today ordinary people often have to work two or three jobs simply to survive, says Mehdi Kouhestaninejad, a longtime Iranian trade unionist now living in Canada, who is active in the international solidarity movement for workers rights in Iran. Many people inside and outside Iran may be shocked by what is going on, but trade unionists have been warning for the past 10 years that there will be an uprising against the ruling class and their kleptocracy.
Unlike the 2009 Green Movement, which was largely a product of the educated, urban Tehrani middle class, the recent protests in Iran appear to reflect the anger of the countrys working-class masses. As Iranians grapple with high inflation, unemployment, and economic corruption, the burden of these problems has fallen most heavily on young people who lack the political connections to survive, let alone raise their standard of living.
The latest protests also erupted from an unclear place in terms of Irans political spectrum: While the Green Movement was rallying around reformist politics and its leadership in Mir Hossein Mousavi, the latest protests have seen chants cursing just about every actor and political affiliation in Iran....
Turkeys President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slammed the United States for the conviction of a top Turkish banker in a US trial, saying Washington is hatching a chain of plots against Ankara.
A US federal court on Wednesday convicted an executive of Turkeys majority state-owned Halkbank Mehmet Hakan Atilla for allegedly evading sanctions imposed against Iran.
If this is the US understanding of justice, then the world is doomed. There can be no such understanding of justice, Erdogan told reporters in Istanbul on Friday, reacting to the conviction.
The Turkish president called Hakan Atillas case full of contradictions.
The Turkish government says the case is based on fabricated evidence and influenced by US-based Turkish cleric and Erdogans political foe Fethullah Gulen.
In his Friday remarks, President Erdogan said the American plots against Turkey went beyond legal ones.

The United States is carrying out a chain of plots, and these are not just legal but also economic plots, Erdogan said.
The Turkish government, which accuses Gulen of having masterminded a failed coup in Turkey in 2016, has repeatedly requested his extradition from the US. But the governments of former US president Barack Obama and incumbent Donald Trump have refused.
Well then what are the international and bilateral legal agreements doing? They are becoming obsolete. I am saddened to say this but after this, the process will work like that, Erdogan said.
Referring to the apparent safety and comfort Gulen enjoys in the US, Erdogan said, Those who are attempting a coup against us in my country live like pashas in 400 acres of land, using the title of former senior officials in the Ottoman times.
(sometimes this Erdogan guy is quite likeable)
The fist is the synthesis of our theory. That statement, made sometime in 1920, belongs to a militant follower of Il Duce, Benito Mussolini, the leader of Italian fascism. But, it could have been uttered just as proudly by an ardent DDS (Diehard Duterte Supporter) while executing the fist salute made famous by President Du30. What it signifies is the primacy of symbols over ideas, of sensual experience over reasoned debate, and of sentiment over reason.
The writer Walter Benjamin observed that fascism marked not just the rise of strongmen but also the transformation of Europes politics into aesthetics. And, the ultimate aesthetic experience during that period was war. In Mr. Dutertes time, the ultimate sensual experience has to be the slaughter of human beings in the name of the war on drugs.
There is no way one can reason against the spectacle of killing. It is simply there, a banal reality of our times. Whether the appropriate term is EJK (extrajudicial killing) or DUI (death under investigation) is no longer important. The government has gone past the debate on whether capital punishment should be restored or not. The killings have happened, and continue to happen, in vague retribution for some collective wrong. Whats important, we are told, is that something is being done at last about criminality.
Of course, the government insists there is no official policy to kill. Policies, after all, are subject to debate. Law enforcers do not debate whether they should kill or not. Killing, for them, is part of the reality of law enforcement, something that happens in the course of their daily worka matter of self-defense, not of policy.
The killing of innocent bystanders as a result of police operations is likewise not a matter of policy. The correct label, we are told, is collateral damage, a blanket term that connotes a regrettable but excusable outcome. Nor can it be said that the government approves or tolerates the killing of drug suspects by unidentified gunmen. The appropriate authorities are supposedly investigating these deaths...
Syrian army forces have made significant advancements against Takfiri terrorists in the northwestern province of Idlib, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says.
According to the report, the Syrian military forces have managed to force out the terrorist groups, including the Takfiri Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist alliance from the southeastern areas of the province.
The Syrian army has liberated 77 villages and districts in the area since October 22, the group said.
The Syrian forces are now approaching the strategic district of Sinjar east of the provincial capital city of Idlib, where the government forces will launch their operations to liberate the suburban areas of the city. The photo shows Takfiri militants in the al-Mushrifa area, near the town of Khan Shaykun in Syrias northwestern province of Idlib on January 2, 2018. Meanwhile, Syrian army, backed by the Russian air force, has launched a major operation since Tuesday to rid the Takfiri terrorists of their last stronghold on the eastern outskirts of the capital, Damascus.
The push began in Harasta District in Eastern Ghouta, where terrorists with the Ahrar al-Sham outfit have gone on rampage over the past days.
The focus of the army operation is the Military Vehicles Administration Army base, which has been besieged by the terrorists in Harasta. At least 200 Syrian troops are believed to be trapped within the premises.
Damascus-based Sama TV television network said combined Syrian military operations and Russian aerial backup had killed more than 200 gunmen in the area on Tuesday.
Iranian and Pakistani defense ministers have held talks on Washingtons role in the region days after US President Donald Trump launched a spree of belligerent twitter messages against the two powerful Muslim nations.
In a Thursday telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Khurram Dastgir-Khan, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ali Hatami hailed growing defense cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
Hatami said the latest developments in the region and the Islamic world require more interactions among the officials of Iran and Pakistan as two major countries in the region and the Muslim world.
The Americans always blame others for their own failures in different parts of the world and follow the strategy of the Zionist regime (Israel) to destabilize the region, he said.
The Iranian defense chief said the evil and stupid policies of the US are the root cause of the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan and the deaths of innocent civilians in Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq and Syria on a daily basis.
Hatami pointed to the ample potentials existing for military cooperation between Iran and Pakistan and stressed that the two countries should utilize their capacities to boost economic growth and security.
The Pakistani defense minister, for his part, welcomed enhancement of military cooperation with Iran, noting that the two countries should bolster their cooperation further given the rapid pace of the regional developments.
Dastgir-Khan also criticized Trumps repeated tweets against Pakistan, stressing that Muslim nations have a sovereign right to guarantee their own security.
Iran and Pakistan are already cooperating on confronting Takfiri terrorists who operate near their joint borders.
The latest phone conversations came only days after Trump posted a series of tweets, in which he voiced support for scattered riots in Iran and accused Pakistan of supporting terrorists.
The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more! Trump tweeted on Monday.
Pakistans Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif fired back and said his government was preparing a response that will let the world know the truth.
A senior Pakistani senator on Friday expressed disappointment at the US decision to suspend military aid to Islamabad, saying it will be detrimental to Pakistani-US relations.

Studies show that approximately 187,000 people die each year from drug overdose. A majority of these deaths are attributed to opioids, one of the most powerful drugs available both legally and illegally. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, over 90 Americans die each day from opioids overdose, a tragic and alarming statistic.
While many have images of underground drug peddlers, cartels, and violent gangs, a large part of opioid abuse is actually from prescription drugs. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) notes that almost one-third of patients that are prescribed opioids for chronic pain misuse them. Around 80 percent of heroin users first abused prescription opioids.
The unfortunate reality is that the roots of the opioid crisis run deep. Arguably, it is a greater challenge to combat the legal side of the crisisprescriptions, pharmaceutical companies, and the likethan the illegal side. This is because, despite stricter Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, rules and regulations are extremely difficult to enforce.
Whats more, it is increasingly hard to monitor over-prescriptions, prescription fraud, and documentation abuses. Pharmacies are compelled to trust doctors judgments, and physicians are sometimes unaware that patients have been prescribed drugs by other physicians for the same medical problem. Despite repeated attempts to solve these problems, no viable answer has been found.
However, thanks to the promising prospects of blockchain technology, all of these issues may be solvable. One company, BlockMedX, is working on an HIPAA compliant system that provides a completely secure, end-to-end solution that will go to great lengths in solving the opioid and prescription drug epidemic.

It is wartime. You and your fellow refugees are hiding from enemy soldiers, when a baby begins to cry. You cover her mouth to block the sound. If you remove your hand, her crying will draw the attention of the soldiers, who will kill everyone. If you smother the child, youll save yourself and the others.
If you were in that situation, which was dramatized in the final episode of the 70s and 80s TV series M.A.S.H., what would you do?
The results of a new UCLA study suggest that scientists could make a good guess based on how the brain responds when people watch someone else experience pain. The study found that those responses predict whether people will be inclined to avoid causing harm to others when facing moral dilemmas.
The development of ultra-intense lasers delivering the same power as the entire U.S. power grid has enabled the study of cosmic phenomena such as supernovae and black holes in earthbound laboratories. Now, a new method developed by computational astrophysicists at the University of Chicago allows scientists to analyze a key characteristic of these events: their powerful and complex magnetic fields.
In the field of high-energy density physics, or HEDP, scientists study a wide range of astrophysical objectsstars, supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies and galaxy clusterswith laboratory experiments as small as a penny and lasting only a few billionths of a second. By focusing powerful lasers on a carefully designed target, researchers can produce plasmas that reproduce conditions observed by astronomers in our sun and distant galaxies.
Planning these complex and expensive experiments requires large-scale, high-fidelity computer simulation beforehand. Since 2012, the Flash Center for Computational Science of the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at UChicago has provided the leading open computer code, called FLASH, for these HEDP simulations, enabling researchers to fine-tune experiments and develop analysis methods before execution at sites such as the National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory or the OMEGA Laser Facility in Rochester, N.Y.

Chicago, IL In the land of the free, if you try to help someone from freezing to death in subzero temperatures, you can and will be arrested and have your house stolen from you by state agents. A good Samaritan in Chicago is learning the hard way about the police state who is now forcing him to stop helping homeless peopleor they will condemn his home and charge him.
When the brutally cold winter struck the Midwest last month, Greg Schiller did an amazing thing. This selfless individual opened up his empty basement to a group of homeless people who may have otherwise died sleeping out on the street. He offered them food, warm beverages, and cots to sleep on. He even provided the entertainment and played movies for them.
I would stay up all night with them and give them coffee and stuff and feed them, he said. Whats more, Schiller had a strict policy that no drugs or alcohol were allowed in his home.
This is Schillers second year of inviting the areas homeless into his home. Last year, however, he let them sleep in his garage and even though it was sealed off from the elements, it was still too cold and EMTs were called to help a man with a heart condition. So, this year, he moved the same operation to the basement where it was nice and cozy.
Everything was going great this year until the state stepped in, however. Schiller was essentially told that even though he owns his home, he does not get a say in who gets to sleep in it.
While we appreciate those who volunteer to provide additional resources in the community, Mr. Schillers house does not comply with codes and regulations that guard against potential dangers such as carbon monoxide poisoning, inadequate light and ventilation, and insufficient exits in the event of a fire, city spokesperson Molly Center said in a statementas if the homeless population is being forced to stay in this basement.
Once they found out that a good Samaritan would dare challenge their almighty dictate on sleeping regulations, the city sent in police with a warrant and told him to shut it down, or else.
They shut me down and said I have 24 hours to return my basement to storage and take down I have several cots with sleeping bags for everybody or theyll condemn the house, said Schiller.
One would think that as this story began to get more coverage in the local press that the government would potentially back off due to backlash from the citizens. However, one would be wrong.
When confronted about the situation, Center issued a statement doubli...
Summary: Facing a tough reality wherein software patents get repeatedly rejected by courts, the patent lawyers reach out to low-importance precedence in low courts (rocket dockets) and pretty meaningless buzzwords that make computer code sound both innovative and physical
A FEW DAYS ago we published this long article about the demise of software patents, accompanied/complete with new examples. As we showed at the time, the patent industry was fuming and looking for workarounds.
Since then, promoted by some patent extremists for the most part (in Twitter) was this article titled The Current State of 101 Examination for Computer-Related Inventions. The patent microcosm cannot help itself; it is still exploring ways to get around the de facto ban on software patents or 101 (incorporating Alice). To quote:
The impact of recent 101 changes on the patent community, particularly for computing technologies, is difficult to overstate. As the various administrative bodies seek (and fail to find) a coherent and consistent statement of the law, a distinct reality is manifesting at the point where the rubber meets the road in day-to-day patent examination. This first post of the reconstituted USPTO Talk presents observations about the state of play in 101 examination practice for computer-related inventions.
Having studied the matter for over a decade (and published many thousands of articles about it), what we see nowadays is a retreat to buzzwords. Code is being passed off/characterised as AI or IoT (older tricks involved phrases like over the Internet). The EPO keeps coming up with new buzzwords of its own.

Thinktanks budget analysis says forecasts for lower productivity, earnings and growth until 2022 were pretty grim reading
Britains leading financial thinktank has warned workers to expect an unprecedented two lost decades of earnings growth and many more years of austerity as a result of the marked slowdown in the economy announced in Philip Hammonds budget.
The Institute for Fiscal Studies said in its traditional post-budget analysis that forecasts slashing productivity, earnings and growth in every year until 2022 made pretty grim reading, and predicted that even by the middle of the next decade, Britains public finances would still be in the red.
The Treasury said the reforms and investment announced by the chancellor were designed to build a country fit for the future, but opposition parties said the gloomy IFS report undermined the chancellors claims.
In its analysis of the budget and the report from the independent Office for Budget Responsibility, the IFS said:
Paul Johnson, the IFS director, said the OBRs decision to reduce its growth forecasts by one-quarter over the next five years would delay deficit reduction, limit Hammonds ability to ease pressure on welfare and public services and harm living standards.
We are in danger of losing not just one but getting on for two decades of earnings growth, he said. We will all have to get used to the idea that steadily rising living standards may be a thing of the increasingly distant past.
The Independent suggest every person in the country is today around 4,000 worse off than they would have been if the British economy had continued growing at its rate seen before the 2008-09 recession.
Britain has now experienced a decade without growth according to the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the latest official projections in the Budget suggest this lost income will never be recovered.
In its response to the Budget the respected think tank said the Office for Budget Responsibilitys new analysis paints a bleak picture of the UK economy, with weak GDP growth by historical standards and very disappointing wage increases over the next five years.
What the OBR is saying is that despite that truly dismal record all of the productivity and with it earnings growth we would normally expect has been lost forever, said Paul Johnson, director of the IFS.
High top Patio Table and Chairs - Chairs are so frequent that we hardly think twice about them. There are probably among seats comfort known to mankind's most famous and earliest forms. Regardless of how old or long ago seats were invented that they continue to grow. Chairs nowadays are manufactured for various seating purposes that vary from office seating to overall home seating etc..
Chairs today come in several of layouts, shapes and sizes. The job of a seat now isn't only to help making it easy for individuals to sit functions an ecstatic purpose. It needs to look good and mix in well with the environment it's meant for. So for instance office chairs will need to appear good and fit in well with an office setting instead of a simple chair or rocking chair that needs to fit in well with a domestic atmosphere.
Today chairs can be purchased from any store and they're also produced from a number. In the previous chairs were just made from wood however, the most recent progress in technology is now possible for individuals to purchase seats made of plastic, fiber, and metal etc..
Britain's never-truly-gone former Prime Minister Tony Blair has had a busy new year period, filling the void by offering opinions no one wants. Brexit, immigration, ignoring democracy - he's got a lot to say. With most politicians up to god knows what in the holiday period (we'll probably find out in the tabloids soon enough) Blair has seen an opportunity to hold court. Blair is still so active in political life, one wonders whether sometimes he accidentally walks back into 10 Downing Street, kicks off his oxfords, loosens his tie and pours a Baileys and blackcurrant before even noticing the actual elected incumbent staring back at him across the room, angrily tapping her kitten heeled slippers.

Putting solar panels into our roads isnt the craziest idea, but we may as well admit that it poses some unique challenges. For instance, people may want to walk away with pieces of it. Thats what happened in China, anyway, just five days after authorities opened up what they claim is the worlds first solar panel-paved highway.
As reported by the Qilu Evening News (and noted by TechNode), the experimental kilometer-long stretch of road in Shandong is covered in more than 10,000 solar panels, sandwiched between an insulating layer on the bottom and a durable, transparent one on top less than 3 cm thick all told. There are coils that can charge electric cars as they drive over it, and the system can even warm up in order to melt snow and ice. It opened to use on December 28.
Unfortunately, during an inspection on the morning of January 2, officials found a narrow piece missing, neatly cut. About 6 inches wide and 6 feet long, the piece didnt appear to have detached on its own suggesting someone stole it. But why?

However, another company, GenePeeks, Inc., was established precisely for the purpose of molecularly genotyping potential donors, though it is currently only aimed at predicting possible rare diseases in offspring between clients and donors. It seems a small step to include other non-medical traits of interest, however, especially if they can be accurately predicted from polygenic profiles. Currently, things like intelligence cannot be accurately predicted for an individual, but it may be possible to generate comparative scores that would influence donor selection. The new company Genomic Prediction, Inc., aims to use polygenic profiles to predict risk for complex disorders the same approach could certainly be used for many non-medical traits. Link here.

Some political analysts have described the Badgerian political system as passive aggressive, though most would say that it relies on fail soft behaviors. While American Thomas Jefferson might say, The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants and martyrs that sounds like a great deal of fuss to a Badgerian, who would probably re-phrase that as neglect may kill tyranny as surely as revolution, its just slower.
The political structure of Badgeria is that the default state of its government is to mostly not exist. In principle, if the people of Badgeria feel that their government is getting away from them, they can make it incapable of doing anything (without a majority supporting it) and wait it out. The general idea is lifted from the constitution of the old United States of America: the legislative branch controls the other branches of government through the power of the purse-strings. Since Badgeria is a direct democracy, The People control the purse-strings through a system of Projects and Ongoing Projects.
Pretty much anything that the government does involves spending money (thats what does means in government terms) and all expenditures are attached to a Project. A Project has a lot of properties but the main ones, at this level of detail, are that it has:

Sites like Watchtroll are all fire and fury over this
Direct/source: 2017 Patent Dispute Report: Year in Review
Summary: The push for broader patent scope is met with growing resistance not only from the public but also from courts; patently false statements are being made in an effort to frame this as devastation to science and technology rather than devastation to patent law firms
THE policy at the USPTO notwithstanding (record number of patent grants), courts are unimpressed and patent holders are reluctant to sue. Compare that to China (the very opposite) and Germany, where EPO policy causes a jump in litigation, usually by patent trolls.
The numbers speak for themselves. Its good news for productive industries and bad news for parasitic ones.
Its good news for productive industries and bad news for parasitic ones.IAM, fed by Watchtrolls latest dishonest nonsense, is not happy. This is a good sign. Not a lot of people remember this, but George W Bush actually campaigned in 2000 against the interventionist foreign policy that the United States had been increasingly espousing. Far from advocating the full-scale regime change ground invasions that his administration is now infamous for, Bush frequently used the word humble when discussing the type of foreign policy he favored, condemning nation-building, an over-extended military, and the notion that America should be the worlds police force.
Eight years later, after hundreds of thousands of human lives had been snuffed out in Iraq and Afghanistan and an entire region horrifically destabilized, Obama campaigned against Bushs interventionist foreign policy, edging out Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries partly because she had supported the Iraq invasion while he had condemned it. The Democrats, decrying the warmongering tendencies of the Republicans, elected a President of the United States who would see Bushs Afghanistan and Iraq and raise him Libya, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia, along with a tenfold increase in drone strikes. Libya collapsed into a failed state where a slave trade now runs rampant, and half a million people died in the Syrian war that Obama and US allies...
White Wooden Table and Chairs - Seats have been around for decades, and only continue getting better. Together with the incorporation of new materials, technology, and layout, chairs aren't just looking better, but they feel much better. Chairs are crucial pieces of equipment in any home, office, or public atmosphere. And even though chairs are sometimes seen as "just a piece of gear", it doesn't signify that it must be tasteless and uneasy. To the contrary, chairs in the marketplace today are comfortable, and are extremely reasonably priced.
Aside from some specific chairs in our house, almost all of our seat time is invested on Office Chairs. This is one area of chair design and performance that has come into its own over the last few decades. Manufacturers are realizing that people desire office chairs that won't send you home and provide comfort all day long. Or perhaps you are worried about the comfort of the customers that see your office. Even though they do look like it has been designed with comfort in mind, Office chairs. Children as young as two and three years old will now be taught to question their biological gender, as nurseries around the UK turn story time into a lesson in gender-bending.
A walk in the woods turned into a survival lesson for two fifth graders from a town in Russia's Urals region who were forced to spend a night out in the winter cold after getting lost. Before disappearing Thursday afternoon, the 11-year-olds Ivan and Evgeniy from the town of Kushva, about 200 km north off Ekaterinburg, were heard speaking of plans to set up "a command unit" in the forest. The boys later said that as they were taking a stroll, one of the two dogs they had with them took off to chase a squirrel. The boys ran after their pet and at some point realized they could not find their way back.
Its been a tough stretch for people who like democracy. Not only is the right to vote in the United States under continuous assault from within, but the regime of Vladimir Putin also successfully interfered in both the 2016 US presidential election and the Brexit vote in the UK, in an effort to undermine the West.
Now that Putin is up for re-election in March, wouldnt it be nice to exact some measure of revenge? At the very least, the countries that Russia has targeted could give him something to think about domestically, so that he cannot focus so much of his attention on meddling elsewhere.
There are just a couple of problems with seeking payback.
First, President Donald Trump, after getting an assist from Putin in the US election (which is the most charitable way of putting it), surely has zero interest in pursuing any such plans. That would make things tricky because, among Russias targets, the US has the most experience in messing with elections abroad. In fact, it might be easier to list the countries that have held elections without American interference than with it, as people all across the Americas, in Iran, Afghanistan, the Russians themselves, etc. can attest to.
So that leaves the Europeans, who have lately had little stomach for such things. But lets say that some sub rosa agency of the European Union decided to pursue a low-risk strategy of only copying the legal parts of Putins anti-democracy playbook, such as social-media buys, troll accounts, and the distribution of fake news.
What could such an initiative accomplish? Virtually nothing.
Because trying to interfere in an election in Putins Russia would be like fixing the outcome of WrestleMania or a Harlem Globetrotters game. There is no point because we already know whats going to happen.
On paper, Russia is a democracy. In reality, its a mix of a murderous Czarist regime, an oligarchy, and a kleptocracy. In other words, its about as democratic as North Carolina (minus the murder of opposition leaders and journalists).
Case in point: In an attempt to show how open the upcoming election would be, Russias news agency TASS reported this week that international observers would be allowed to monitor it including representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and FIS, a group of former Soviet states.
Russia persistently meets electoral commitments within participation in CIS, the Council of Europe and OSCE, providing accessibility for international monitoring to the electoral process in general elections, said Nikolai Le...

BERLIN (Reuters) Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Sunday she was optimistic her conservatives and the Social Democrats (SPD) could agree to join forces as they embarked on five days of talks about reviving the grand coalition that has governed Germany since 2013.
Persuading the SPD to team up with her is Merkels best bet of forming a stable government in Europes largest economy and extending her 12 years in office, after her attempt to form an alliance with two smaller parties failed last year.
Arriving at SPD headquarters for talks more than three months after a national election, Merkel said the parties had a lot of work to get through in the coming days but intended to tackle it quickly, adding: I think it can succeed.
The SPD, which had said it would go into opposition after its worst election showing since 1933, reconsidered when Germanys president intervened.
But the centre-left party, among whose membership opposition to a grand coalition re-run remains strong, has been playing hard-to-get.
A group called NoGroKo, meaning no grand coalition, has formed within its ranks to campaign against working with Merkel again, saying that would cost the SPD votes and make the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) the leading opposition party.
SPD leader Martin Schulz said that, while the outcome of the talks was unclear, his party would enter them constructively.
We wont draw any red lines rather we want to push through as much red politics as possible in Germany, Schulz said, referring to the partys color.
Schulz said five days should suffice to find out whether the parties had enough common ground to launch full-blown coalition talks. The SPD leadership is due to recommend on Friday whether o...
A 10-year-old boy and his mother are suing Washington, DC police officers for unlawfully pepper spraying them during a roundup of protesters on President Donald Trump's Inauguration Day. The complaint filed Wednesday says that Gwen Frisbie-Fulton and her son, identified only as as "AS" - since he was 10 at the time - were peacefully demonstrating when police kettled protesters at 12th and L Streets on January 20, 2017. The lawsuit says police discharged pepper-spray in "supersoaks." Frisbie-Fulton and her son tried to escape the spraying, but AS was knocked back into the group by a line of officers. "I was terrified for my son's safety. When he was knocked down, I instinctually jumped on top of him to cover his body with mine," said Frisbie-Fulton said in an ACLU statement. "We are told police are there to keep us safe, but on Inauguration Day they were the ones who put us in danger."

Look at what the Arab states are saying about the demonstrations against the Iranian regime:
The post What Do Arab States Think About the Iran Protests? appeared first on Clarion Project.
Many Twitter users have reported threats of genocide and the use of weapons of mass destruction by one Twitterati in particular, but Twitter does not think these violate the terms of usage at Twitter. Tweet, at Mashable.
The President of the United States possibly made another threat of nuclear war on Twitter, but the company doesn't seem to think the post breaks any of its rules. Donald Trump boasted on Twitter about how his nuclear button was bigger than North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's, and people are calling (again) for the president to be banned from the platform.
Folks on Twitter are asking the platform whether this violates its policy against violent threats. So far the response from Twitter has been in the form of an automated response in which Twitter says Trump's message represents "no violation of the Twitter Rules against abusive behavior."
Mashable checked, just in case:
Twitter confirmed to Mashable that "this Tweet did not violate our terms of service," referencing the Twitter Rules against violent threats and glorification of violence.
"You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people," the rules state.
So it seems that if you are going to threaten serious "physical harm, death or disease" on Twitter, be sure to include everyone by using nukes, instead of just one individual or group.

Mexico has begun the new year in much the same way as it began the last one with news of a gasolinazo. This time the tabled increase in fuel prices, at 6.9%, is considerably smaller than last years eye-watering one-off hike of 20%, but with inflation already at well over 6%, in part due to last years gasolinazo, the consequences are still likely to be severe.
The main reason for last years hike was the liberalization of Mexicos energy market which put an abrupt end to most of the governments fuel subsidies. It was also done for a fiscal reason: over just a few years, Mexicos fast-shrinking state-owned (but soon to be privatized) oil giant, Pemex, had morphed from a huge funding asset to a national liability.
Mexicos reformist president Enrique Pea Nieto had repeatedly promised that market liberalization would lead to markedly lower prices at the pump. However, as his government began withdrawing the generous public subsidies that had underpinned the market for decades while raising fuel excise duties to help fill at least a few of the holes on the governments balance sheets, the only way for prices to go was up.
The price jumps sparked a wave of protests in Mexicos main cities that led to 500 arrests for robbery and vandalism just in the capital and neighboring state Estado de Mexico alone. The price hike also cost the state-owned oil company, Pemex, hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stolen fuel last year as oil theft, now one of the biggest sources of funds for Mexicos drug gangs, surged to unprecedented levels.
Now, 12 months on, the prospect of a new, albeit smaller, gasolinazo has raised concerns that Mexico could be about to witness a new wave of violence
With any country that, like Iran, has been the subject of acrimonious debate in Washington, pronouncements by American observers about events in that country have more to do with politics here than with what is going on over there. So it has been with much of the spinning and interpreting of protests in Iranian streets during the past few days. Some guidelines for intelligent, responsible, and useful commentary on those protests are in order, and applicable no matter what are the policy preferences of whoever is commenting.
The first guideline is to apply a large dose of agnosticism to the question of where the protests are heading. The future course of popular unrest in any country is inherently difficult to predict. That future depends on the vicissitudes of emotion, the complex interplay of different issues and political forces, and the especially unpredictable ways in which minor incidents can spark much larger responses.
A current trajectory cannot be extrapolated into the future, partly because of the effects of decisions not yet made. In the current Iranian case, security elements of the regime have refrained so far from using most of their capability to crack down on protesters, but have strongly hinted that the capability may yet be used. Such use would change the game being played in Iranian streets, but again with much uncertainty about where things would go from there.
Some qualities of the current protests make their future path especially unpredictable, even in comparison with the larger protests in Iran in 2009. There is no single movement with a recognizable leadership as there was with the Green Movement in the earlier disturbances. There is no single happening or trigger equivalent to the disputed presidential election in 2009. Diverse political elements have participated. It appears that some of the first protests in Mashhad were the work of hardliners apparently seeking to embarrass President Hassan Rouhani, but they were joined by economically disgruntled citizens of other political persuasions. The messages being chanted in the street also are diverse.
The diversity of the messages leads to another guideline, which is not to presume to know what is in the hearts and minds of protesters. Nor should it be presumed that what is chanted or is written on a protesters sign identifies the motivation behind the protests. American commentators who have pushed for confrontation with Iran...

Now that Steve Bannon has carried his political jihad to its logical conclusion, martyrdom never looked so meaningless. A bright and talented man has sacrificed himself over nothing more significant than anger and vanity.
Consider a recent report that Bannon was mulling the idea of running for president in 2020. Presumably that was part of his plan to elect a batch of Roy Moores, depose Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and reshape congress to match his own definition of economic nationalism.
As such, Bannons decision to go out in a blaze of personal attacks on the president and everybody else in the White House does Donald Trump and the GOP a giant favor. Bannon may live to fight another day, but, thankfully, Bannonism is dead.
But what of Trumpism? Is Fire and Fury, the Michael Wolff book where Bannon leaks and vents, the beginning of the end of Trumps presidency?
Maybe but probably not. After all, every previous media-hair-on-fire moment has come to a forgettable dead end.
This time could be different, but more likely, the latest explosion of gossip and sniping marks just another day on the razors edge. This is the essential nature of the Trump presidency, where catastrophe is always a heartbeat away. It will be like that as long as hes in the Oval Office.
This is who Trump is, and a year into his presidency, there is no reason to believe he will change. A penchant for creating melodrama seems essential to his being.
One result is that reports of his imminent demise have been near-constant ever since he came down the Trump Tower escalator in June of 2015. Those predictions have been nonstop and always wrong.
Of course, this time could be different. Or maybe the next time will. Or maybe not.
Meanwhile, his is turning out to be an enormously consequential presidency.
So much so that, despite my own frustration over his missteps, there has never been a day when I wished Hillary Clinton were president. Not one.
Indeed, as Trumps accomplishments accumulate, the mere thought of Clinton in the White House, doubling down on Barack Obamas failed policies, washes away any doubts that America made the right choice.
This was truly a change election and the changes...
The audience wasnt sure what it should do, and Evans was of course ribbed for his opinions by the other three panellists and indeed the compere. Which is when I thought: hang on, why should I be grateful to the BBC for allowing one single representative of majority opinion on air? And yet it was such a breath of fresh air. Not because Im a conservative, but just for the sake of diversity of opinion.
This is the thing. You think the BBC news programmes are bad? It is away from the news programmes that the BBC really shows its bias. And so we end up being grateful when someone who speaks for the majority or at least a very large minority actually gets airtime.

Mazaa aata hai, Ashwin, not yet 21, tells Mathangi Krishnamurthy as he lolls on a daybed with bloodshot eyes and rumpled clothes. I get on my bike, the roads are all empty, I go to work. No one can nag me.
They dont see their parents in the day because they are sleeping, says Rohan, a young team leader, between calls from his juniors. So everyday I have to deal with a new problem. My girlfriend broke up. Ive started my period. Im pregnant
Through voices like these, Krishnamurthys 1-800 Worlds, The Making of the Indian Call Centre Economy brings to life the world of young people working phones all night, trying to be intelligible and efficient to sometimes irate customers in Europe or North America.
At the heart of the book is Krishnamurthys own four-month stint, while she was a doctoral student, as a voice and accent-trainer at a leading business-process outsourcing (BPO) outfits in Pune. She assumed an American accent for her job interview, worked through the night, and lived the call-centre life so intensely that she was eventually sad to leave.
Her book traces the divergent narratives that formed around the transnational call centre industry which took root in India in 1998, boomed in the mid-2000s and then began to decline as multinational corp...
