Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: Who Is Seema Verma? "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

Seema Verma, a long-time consultant in the health care industry, was named on November 29, 2016, as President-elect Donald Trumps choice to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She was sworn in on March 14, 2017.

Verma, the daughter of Indian immigrants, earned a bachelors degree in life sciences from the University of Maryland in 1993 and a masters in public health from Johns Hopkins University in 1996. Early in her career, she served as a director of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials in Washington, D.C., and as vice president of planning for the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County in Indianapolis.

In 2001, Verma founded SVC, a health-care consultancy. She started work in 2006 on the proposal that became the Healthy Indiana Plan, a healthcare plan endorsed by then-Governor Mitch Daniels (R) that put patients in high-deductible health plans and forced most to put at least some money in health savings accounts. Such plans act as barriers to obtaining and maintaining coverage for low-income groups, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. If youre talking about someone whose total income is $100 a month or $200 a month or is homeless, that is when it becomes particularly burdensome, MaryBeth Musumeci, associate director for the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured, told The Washington Post.

Vermas work for Indiana proved lucrative. SVC received more than $3.5 million in contracts from the state. At the same time that Verma was advising Indiana, she worked for Hewlett-Packard, which was trying to win a contract from the state. Hewlett-Packard paid Verma, who had an office in the state government center, $1.2 million, but won more than $500 million in contractsincluding some involving Healthy Indianafrom the state, according to reporting by The Indianapolis Star. Indianas ethics laws dont forbid such a conflict of interest, according to The Star.

In 2014, the state increased Vermas payout by about $300,000, although neither her workload nor the length of the contract increased, The Star reported. Indiana officials provided only a vague explanationto cover claimsfor the raise. Vermas work for the state continued through the administration of Governor, and Vice President-elect, Mike Pence.

Moore Accuser Removes Anti Moore, Anti Trump FB Rants, 1889 "IndyWatch Feed Economics"

- Virtual Shield VPN - Black Friday SPECIAL. IDENTISAFE Turns off camera & mic on Windows. Go to: https://www.virtualshield.com/billstill Good morning, Im still reporting on: Moore Accuser Removes Anti Moore, Anti Trump FB Rants, 1889 Synopsis:Why is Judge Roy Moore important? Because he would be the swing vote in the U.S. Senate on a host of conservative, Pro-Trump issues essentially nullifying turncoat Sen. John McCains vote. But there is a deeper reason. This is what they tried on Donald Trump exact same gig and it nearly worked. They nearly drove him out of the Presidential contest. Thirty days out from the election is the perfect time for salacious gossip to be repeated, but not investigated by the MSM. People tend to hear the oft repeated initial lies and not the later correction that the lie was actually a deliberate untruth devised by the Deep State Ministry of Propaganda. If the DSMOP wins this time with this tactic - and Judge Moore either withdraws or is somehow defeated at the polls, this will change the way all political races will be run in the future. Why? Heres the macroeconomic argument. Senate races keep getting more and more expensive every year. The current record holder is the race was the 2016 Senate race between Pennsylvania Republican incumbent Sen. Pat Toomey and his challenger, Democrat Katie McGinty which clocked in at over $162 million. The recent special election Congressional race in Georgia cost over $50 million. But what a bargain it would be if you could swing a Senate election 20, 30 or 40 points if, in the last 30 days before the election, you spent $25-$50,000 to mount a robo-call targeting Democrat women in the state in question, offering to pay any woman $5,000 who would agree to swear on a stack of bibles that the Republican candidate had had sex with when she was 16. Only the first 10 women with the best evidence will be chosen. Hurry, hurry, hurry! Oh, and dont worry about proving it. We wont investigate or vet your story, and youll have the full powers of the DSMOP to create an alternate reality for you should any nosy members of the MSM actually try to investigate. Oh, one more thing, you are guaranteed to get your 15 minutes of fame probably a lot more. Do you think you would have any trouble getting 10 volunteers? No way! Do you think we are making this up? This Is What A Pre-Crash Market Looks Like "IndyWatch Feed World"

This Is What A Pre-Crash Market Looks Like | Wall-Street-Bull-Public-Domain | Economy & Business Special Interests

The only other times in our history when stock prices have been this high relative to earnings, a horrifying stock market crash has always followed.  Will things be different for us this time?  We shall see, but without a doubt this is what a pre-crash market looks like.  This current bubble has been based on irrational euphoria that has been fueled by relentless central bank intervention, but now global central banks are removing the artificial life support in unison.  Meanwhile, the real economy continues to stumble along very unevenly.  This is the longest that the U.S. has ever gone without a year in which the economy grew by at least 3 percent, and many believe that the next recession is very close.  Stock prices cannot stay completely disconnected from economic reality forever, and once the bubble bursts the pain is going to be unlike anything that we have ever seen before.

If you think that these ridiculously absurd stock prices are sustainable, there is something that I would like for you to consider.  The only times in our history when the cyclically-adjusted return on stocks has been lower, a nightmarish stock market crash happened soon thereafter

Was Judge Moores Accuser's Yearbook Autograph Forged?, 1888 "IndyWatch Feed Economics"

- Wealth365 Summit - online Financial Conference - Jan. 15-20 Call 262-299-6200 or go to https://www.wealth365.com/bill Good morning, Im still reporting on: Was Judge Moores Accuser's Yearbook Autograph Forged?, 1888 Synopsis: Well, the coupsters are still busying themselves at the direction of the ministry of propaganda with continuing to undermine any effort to sway the Republican majority in the United States Senate. Weve stayed a mile away from the Judge Roy Moore story because we had a tip that a certain agency had turned against Deep State and was using its intel to expose all the sex pervs supporting it. And thats why there has been this rash of sex exposes. We didnt know if the Roy Moore accusers were part of that outing for some reason so we waited. Now, this entire Roy Moore flock smells more and more like a MOP (Ministry of Propaganda) fiction. Heres the evidence: According to a blog author whose name I probably shouldnt mention out loud lets just call him a military historian who is following these events closely. The Defend-Judge-Roy-Moore group pretty much collapsed yesterday afternoon when, at 2:25, a lady named Beverly Young Nelson, age 56, held a press conference in New York with embattled attorney Gloria Allred alleging Judge Roy Moore sexually harassed her when she was 16 years old. She showed a copy of her high school annual with a purported inscription signed by Roy Moore D.A. Even Judge Jeanine went running for the hills after that. Tonight, Hannity gave Judge Moore 24 hours to fully explain or drop out. But hold on there. This mornings light has called this revelation into serious question. Problem #1: The inscription reads: To a sweeter more beautiful girl, I could not say, Merry Christmas. Signed Roy Moore D.A. Do you remember your high school annual days? Since when did one come out before Christmas. They came out just a month or two before the end of school like April or May. Problem #2: Roy Moore was never a D.A. He was an assistant D.A. Oops!!! But it gets worse. Problem #3: could it be that someone at CNN retouched the part at the top right? So it looks like someone named Roy did write the part on the left, but from Moore on is written in blue ink, not black ink. Duhhhh. January 20, 2018: Build the Base, Take the Initiative : A Call to Expand Our Capacity "IndyWatch Feed War"

On January 20, 2018, we invite you to join us in organizing events and gatherings in autonomous spaces, building capacity and community to sustain our movements and prepare for the year ahead.

This call is endorsed by the Channel Zero Anarchist Podcast Network, subMedia, Its Going Down, and CrimethInc.. If you want to endorse this call, pass it on to others, organize something for January 20, 2018, and email us at rollingthunder@crimethinc.com to have your name added here.

Last year, thousands gathered in Washington, DC and elsewhere around the US to start the Trump regime off with an inspiring display of defiance. Since that historic mobilization, many of us have been in action almost continuously, responding to one threat after another from the regime and its supporters.

Weve participated in airport blockades opposing the Muslim Ban, mass mobilizations against the Alt-Right and other racists, weeks of action in solidarity with J20 defendants and Standing Rock arrestees, ongoing anti-colonial action against pipelines, and broad disaster relief efforts in the South and Puerto Rico. As a new year opens up before us, lets come together to think about where we want to go from here.

We live in dynamic and dangerous times. The state is ramping up repression just as fewer and fewer people perceive the government to be legitimate. Many comrades are facing decades in prison, but many more are looking to get involved.

For this reason, were calling for people to gather in anarchist and autonomous spaces on the week of January 20, 2018 in order to reconnect to the roots from which our movements draw strength, discuss the path ahead, and gather resources for prisoners, relief efforts, and ongoing struggles.

Expand Networks, Strengthen Spaces

We propose to use the week of J20 2018 to reconnect with our networks, revitalize our spaces, organize new projects, hold special events, and bring people together to build our movements.

Autonomous spaces include infoshops, community centers, and bookstores. But an autonomous space can also be a public place you make a habit of gathering in or a territory you share and defend. Open spaces offer a way for people who are freshly curious about our movements to plug in, pick up literature, and begin fostering relationships.

Towards this end, we are encouraging people to organize on the week of J20:

  • Community events involving putting in work at autonomous spaces. This could mean fixing the bathro...

Notes on Anti-Fascist Self-Defense Training : 10 Lessons from the Russian Anti-Fascist Experience "IndyWatch Feed War"

Anti-fascists on May Day 2014 in Murmansk.

The Trump presidency has seen a boom of fascist organizing and anti-fascist resistance in North America. Strategies and tactics that originally developed in the European context have spread around the USA. Meanwhile, in Russia, both Nazi violence and anti-fascist activity have died down to a mere fraction of what they were at the peak of the years of confrontation, 2002-2011. In the following text, a participant in the Russian anti-fascist movement suggests some conclusions about how to train for anti-fascist confrontations.

In publishing this perspective, we aim to facilitate dialogue between those fighting fascism in a variety of conditions all around the world. We believe it is crucial for anti-fascists to learn from history and from each others experience. If the Russian model for anti-fascist action reached its limits based on internal factors, as described below, we should take care not to reproduce those elements in our own organizing. Likewise, we encourage readers to bear in mind the political, social, and legal differences between the Russian and US contexts; youll do no one any good by ending up in prison on weapons charges unless the alternative would have been even worse. In the long run, fascism wont be defeated simply by individual courage or force of arms, but by building a broad-based, participatory movement that addresses the social and economic problems fascists capitalize on to recruit for their organizations.

Antifascist Attitude, a documentary made in 2008. Click on the option for English subtitles.

Introduction from the Author

Unfortunately, this text cannot go into detail about the history of Russian anti-fascism. That text has yet to be written. You can get a general sense from two texts that appeared between 2009 and 2011, before it was obvious that the situation was about to change:

There are a number of reasons why both fascist terror and anti-fascist organizing have drastically diminished in Russia over the past decade. First of all, Russian society is less dysfunctional. During the economic crisis of the 1990s, entire communities were devastated due to drugs and crime; peo...

Im worried about George. An admirer of many years standing of his excellent columns charting what John Smiths even more excellent Imperialism in the Twenty-First Century refers to as capitalisms destruction of nature, Im dismayed both by his stance on Syria and manner of defending it. His latest Guardian piece, yesterday A lesson from Syria: its crucial not to fuel far-right conspiracy theories is depressingly typical. The man who writes with such clarity, such evidence based reason, on the ties between environmental recklessness and big money repeatedly shows himself prepared to suspend his critical faculties while projecting that very sin on his opponents when it comes to Syria and the Assad regime.

Duties Imposed Against Chinese "Dumping" Hurt American Consumers "IndyWatch Feed Economics"

By: Andrew Moran
madein.PNG

For years, special interests have called on the U.S. government to level the playing field in the form of duties, levies, and other antiquated measures. Democrats and Republicans alike have aired their grievances over the trade deficit, grumbling about exporters hurting American workers by flooding the market with cheap goods. These complaints are deeply misguided.

Over the last decade, China has been accused of tilting international trade in its favor. Is this true? No, it is demonstrably false, as Beijings subsidized exports greatly benefit American consumers far more than the Chinese population.

You cant tell that to the U.S. government, though.

In late October, the Department of Commerce announced that China dumped aluminum foil on the U.S. market, selling the goods at unfairly low prices.

Trade policy under Trump hasnt been dramatically different from his predecessors, though. Who who monitor trade deals have forgotten about President Barack Obamas 35% tax on Chinese tires and President George W. Bushs 20% tax on imported steel.

US Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties

Before Trumps stop in Beijing as part of his 12-day Asian tour, the U.S. government imposed duties ranging between 96.81% and 162.24% on Chinese aluminum foil. The preliminary report determined that China dumped nearly $400 million worth of aluminum foil imports on the U.S. market in 2016 at very low prices.

In August, the U.S. instituted preliminary duties of up to 80.97% on Chinese aluminum foil. The Commerce Department averred that state subsidies placed American products at a disadvantage.

China is not pleased by the move, describing it as mistaken methods. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce confirmed that it would take necessary actions to protect its domestic industries by filing a dispute under World Trade Organization (WTO) protocols.

Wang Hejun, an official with the ministry, said the U.S. is not only harming Chinese companies, but it is violating multilateral trade rules. He said in a...

NOT FUNNY: Al Franken Once Joked About Al-Qaeda Assassinating President Bush (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

In 2004, Al Franke told the sign-language interpreter working at the Republican convention that he should have communicated to Al-Qaeda how to sneak into the White House to assassinate President George Bush.

FRANKEN: You what would have been a really funny, stupid thing to do? Would have been, like, Al-Qaeda friends of mine, Ive scoped out the place, the way to get the President is to come through the Kitchen, which is downstairs.

After finishing his joke, Franken lets out a huge laughHA-HA!

Hot Airs Ed Morrissey had this to say about the tasteless joke back in 2008:

I can already hear the objections. Franken is a satirist! He was joking! Hes paid to make people laugh! Er, yeah but then Franken was also a political commentator, and now he wants to serve in the US Senate, so his judgment in this is fair game. If hes such a hater that the notion of AQ assassinating George Bush is funny, that shows just how far outside the mainstream Franken is, and how poor his judgment can be.

Does Franken really believe that joking about presidential assassinations is in good taste, ever? Because in a Barack Obama administration, I doubt that Frankens allies will find it funny. Neither will I, or most everyone I know.

Norways oil fund wants to divest from oil "IndyWatch Feed War"

AFP

STATOIL/AFP | Norway is western Europes biggest oil and gas producer and the sector accounts for 14 percent of the countrys gross domestic product.

OSLO (AFP)  Norways sovereign wealth fund, which is fuelled by the states oil revenues, wants to divest its oil and gas holdings, the Norwegian central bank which manages the fund said Thursday. In a letter to the government, the bank said that if the worlds largest sovereign wealth fund commonly referred to as the oil fund were to divest its oil and gas shares, Norway would be less vulnerable to a lasting decline in oil prices.

The Scandinavian country is western Europes biggest oil and gas producer.

The sector accounts for 14 percent of Norways gross domestic product. Any fall in crude prices, as has been the case since the summer of 2014, affects the states revenues and the funds investments, upon which the state is increasingly dependent to balance its budget.

This advice is based exclusively on financial arguments and analyses of the governments total oil and gas exposure, the banks deputy governor Egil Matsen said in a statement.

It does not reflect any particular view of future movements in oil and gas prices or the profitability or sustainability of the oil and gas sector, he added.

The bank recommended the removal of oil stocks from the funds benchmark index, which would still give it a little leeway to invest modestly in the sector.

The finance ministry said it would present its conclusions in the autumn of 2018.

The problem raised by the central bank is extensive and has many facets, Finance Minister Siv Jensen said in a statement.

The government is responsible for the Norwegian economy in its entirety and has to adopt a broad and comprehensive approach to this question, she added.

The sovereign wealth fund, fuelled by the states oil revenues which have dropped sharply in recent years, is currently worth around 8.24 trillion kroner (854 billion euros, $1 trillion), invested primarily in shares (65.9 percent) as well as bonds and real estate.

The oil and gas sector accounts for 5.5 percent of its equity investments.

The Norwegian fund has already divested from coal for both environmental and financial reasons.

The future of Norways oil sector is at the heart of a lawsuit brought this week again...

Not Just the Air Force: US Army Fail to Report up to 20% of Crimes to FBI "IndyWatch Feed World"

army

After an Air Force veteran with a criminal history was able to buy guns and kill 29 people in a Texas church, a Pentagon-wide investigation found that the Army is failing to alert the FBI about soldiers criminal histories in a significant amount of cases.

On Wednesday, Gen. Mark Milley, the Army chief of staff, told Pentagon reporters that there have been gaps and failures on on the part of the Army to report the criminal activity of soldiers to federal civilian law enforcement agencies.

The data I saw, and again we are drilling into it to make sure its accurate, we have a significant amount of omissions that concern the secretary and I, and it clearly tells us that we need to tighten up as well, Milley said, according to CNN.

Roughly 150 soldiers receive a dishonorable discharge each year, Milley said, adding that they should all be reported to the FBI.

We need to make sure every one of those is transmitted over to the civilian law enforcement agencies, the FBI for example, Milley said, according to ABC News.

In the military, officials are required to notify the FBI about criminal convictions and dishonorable discharges. However, Milley said that a preliminary review of Army procedures found his service has been failing to report around 10 to 20 percent of the criminal cases to the FBI.

The percentage is too high, Milley said, according to Stars and Stripes.

The day after former airman Devin Kelley killed 26 people in a Texas church, Defense Secretary James Mattis ordered the Pentagons inspector general to review how the Air Force handled Kelleys criminal records.

The Air Force veteran was able to buy guns despite a prior conviction for assaulting his wife and stepson. He was given bad conduct charge and sentenced to 12 months in jail, which should have barred him from purchasing firearms.

Its not just an Air Force problem, Milley said, according to CNN. This is a problem across all the services.

Last week, a Pentagon report from 1997 resu...

Forcing RT to register as a foreign agent meant to stigmatize its reporting as propaganda and tar anyone who appears on its shows as Russian dupes "IndyWatch Feed World"

The decision by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) to compel the Russian-state media outlet RT (an English-language cable news network) to register as a "foreign agent" is intended to not only stigmatize its reporting as foreign propaganda but also tar anyone who appears on its programs as Russian dupes. RT will register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) of 1938, the aim of which, according to the nonpartisan transparency watchdog Sunlight Foundation, was "To make it easier for federal counterespionage authorities to keep tabs on U.S.-based individuals and other groups helping to drum up support for the Nazi movement and keep America neutral in the war." Amendments added in 1966 shifted its focus to political activities, such as lobbying. But whatever the legal basis for requiring RT to register as a foreign agent, the Justice Department's decision is clearly in response to intense domestic political and media pressure. Many of the assumptions behind that pressure are dubious or based on myths. Lets see:

Using badge politics, censoring those who dont worship twitters liberal dictator, & implementing procedures to annihilate conservatives from the Internet?

Sounds like twitter is carrying out its own final solution for conservatives.

And so it begins. Twitter is quick to call me and others Nazis, but they are literally trying to eradicate my presence. Just like Hitler.

Twitter is uh, cracking down on hateful tweeters (not the Tiny Tyrant, natch), by removing their little checkmark. Yeah, that will show them. While I cant say I think much of this action, its certainly upsetting the conservanazi crowd. Laura Loomer says Using badge politics. If that little checkmark didnt mean anything to you Ms. Loomer, why on earth did you pursue it so hard? You claim Twitter is annihilating conservatives, literally trying to eradicate your presence. Going by your checkmark free tweets, that has not been accomplished in the slightest. Perhaps you should save your hyperbole for a time when Twitter actually does something, like ban your account.

All the checkmarkless nazirati are having fits, as if this truly impacts their ability to spread their bigotry, hate, and fear. Perhaps it does, and if so, good. You can read many of the linked tweets of the nazirati at RWW.

Israeli Military Chief Gives Unprecedented Interview to Saudi Media "IndyWatch Feed War"

Israel and Saudi Arabia are in full agreement about Irans intentions, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot tells Elaph, noting the two states have never fought each other

A Saudi newspaper published an unprecedented interview on Thursday with the Israeli military chief, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot. It marks the first time any senior Israel Defense Forces officer, let alone the chief of staff, has been interviewed by a media organization in Saudi Arabia, which does not have diplomatic ties with Israel.

.
In the interview to the Saudi online newspaper Elaph, Eisenkot called Iran the real and largest threat to the region. He said Israel and Saudi Arabia are in complete agreement about Irans intentions.

He also noted that Israel and Saudi Arabia have never fought each other.

Eisenkot said that Israels military situation has never been better. He said that was why it is highly regarded by the moderate countries in the region.

.
Israels military chief accused Iran of trying to destabilize the region by building weapons factories and supplying advanced arms to guerilla and terrorist organizations across the Middle East.

Iran seeks to take control of the Middle East, creating a Shiite crescent from Lebanon to Iran and then from the [Persian] Gulf to the Red Sea.

We must prevent this from happening, he added.

.
Eisenkot said Israel has no intention of initiating an attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon. We see Iranian attempts at bringing about an escalation, but I dont see a high chance for this at the moment.
He cautioned, however, that local flare-ups could lead to a broad strategic conflict.

.
The interview follows the news that broke two weeks ago of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariris tumultuous resignation, and the wave of arrests of Saudi princes, ministers and businessmen along with direct public threats by Saudi Arabia, and Israel aimed at Iran and Hezbollah.

.
Eisenkot also commented on the Middle East policies of the American and Russian governments. He said he welcomed U.S President Donald Trumps announcement that it is necessary to put an end to the Iranian ballistic missile program and Irans growing hold in Syria and Iraq.

.
I view it as hope for the region, he said.

Lightning in a bottle: Scientists create ring of plasma in mid air for the first time in history "IndyWatch Feed World"

Scientists have created a ring of plasma in mid air, the equivalent of capturing lightning in a bottle, using only a stream of high pressured water and a crystal plate, achieving what was once thought impossible. Plasma is one of the four most common states of matter on Earth, and is comprised of highly ionized gas. Lightning is a form of plasma, as is the weather phenomenon Saint Elmo's fire, when glowing balls of light appear on pointed objects during storms. Fluorescent light bulbs and neon lights contain other forms of plasma. Plasma doesn't usually have a defined shape, for instance lightning forms in a fork shape as it follows the path of least resistance through the air. Man-made plasmas have only ever been created in vacuum chambers or electromagnetic fields.

Israel, Saudi Arabia Deepen Ties With Iran Intelligence Sharing Agreement "IndyWatch Feed World"

Analysis The Chief of Staff of Israels military has confirmed to a Saudi newspaper, that the Israeli regime is now prepared to share intelligence with the Saudi Arabia on matters concerning Iran.

While some will doubtlessly feign shock at the announcement, it is merely a confirmation of what most regional observers have felt was the status quo dating back a number of years, albeit one which has intensified lately.

Todays statement follows the trend of Saudi Arabia and Israel working quietly but unambiguously to begin establishing open diplomatic relations. When this inevitably happens, Saudi will be only the third Arab country to have relations with the Israeli regime, the others being Egypt and Jordan.

For decades, Saudi and Israel have shared similar regional alignments. Both regimes have worked to undermine and overthrow Arab nationalist governments throughout the Arab world, including both Baathist and Nasserist states. Since 1979, both countries have also become steadfast opponents of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Moreover, this follows a trend of the Middle East regrouping into a northern and southern zone, each with its own geo-strategic goals and mutual dependencies within the respective zone. As Saudi Arabia and Israel each fall in the southern zone, it is only natural for the two countries to make their de-facto alliance public. This demonstrates that any theoretical differences between the state ideologies of Zionism and Wahhabism are largely inconsequential. In both cases, shared strategic goals of undermining Arab nationalist states and the Islamic Revolution in Iran have taken precedence over perceived ideological differences.

In his statement, Israeli military officer Gadi Eisenkot admits to a south versus north divide. He accuses Iran of attempting to form a Shia Crescent running from Iran to Lebanon. In reality, this internationally juvenile description of the new north of the Middle East, undermines the very real strategic interests of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon as part of this alliance, as well as the emerging and meaningful partnership between Iran, Turkey and Iraq. Furthermore, as this region is home to millions of Sunni Muslims and many varieties of Christians and seeing as Iran retains its historic Jewish population, it is absurd to call the new northern bloc of Middle Eastern powers a Shia crescent.

Alabama Female Faith Leaders to Hold Press Conference Friday in Support of Judge Roy Moore "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

A group of Christian women from Alabama will hold a press conference Friday at 10:30 AM in support of Judge Roy Moore.

Judge Moore has been accused of sexual assault and sexual advances on teenage girls by the liberal media and coastal elites in the past week.
Several of the allegations have already been disproven.

FAIRHOPE, AL SEPTEMBER 25: Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Alabama, Roy Moore, speaks at a campaign rally on September 25, 2017 in Fairhope, Alabama. Moore is running in a primary runoff election against incumbent Luther Strange for the seat vacated when Jeff Sessions was appointed U.S. Attorney General by President Donald Trump. ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***

WHAT:  Women for Moore Press Conference

WHEN:  Friday, Nov. 17th at 10:30am

WHERE: Alabama State Capitol Steps, 600 Dexter Ave, Montgomery, AL

WHY:  Judge Roy Moore has faithfully served in public office for forty years.  He ran for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court twice and won and he ran for Governor in 2010.  Yet, not once, during all that time were there any allegations of sexual misconduct.  During the fight over the removal of the Ten Commandments monument in 2003 and again last year when he was put through the fire with the Judicial Inquiry Commission there were no allegations of sexual impropriety.  But now, one month before the election, a volunteer of his opponent, Doug Jones, who also worked as an interpreter for Democrat Joe Biden comes forward.  The second accuser is also looking very suspicious.  It appears that the evidence that she has against Moore has been fabricated.  We know Judge Moore and we arent buying it.  The Judge has repeatedly denied these allegations and we stand with him.  We know his character and have called this press conference to show the our state and the nation that we will not be bullied by special interests nor political hacks in Alabama or in Washington DC.

The women who will be speaking have endorsed him and will attest to his good character.  Janet Porter from...

US aiding and abetting Saudi war crimes in Yemen "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

The newly installed crown prince of Saudi Arabia and heir apparent to the throne Mohammed bin Salman (known as MBS) has shown himself to be a shrewd manipulator of American media. He has arrested about 50 people within the ruling class, including some potential rivals, ostensibly for corruption. I have no doubt that there is massive corruption in that country, as there is by the wealthy in most countries. But he likely knows that anti-corruption plays well in western media and could mask what may well be purely a power grab. He also allowed women to drive, a welcome move no doubt, but just a very slight relaxing of the oppressive status of women in that country. But for doing so, he was hailed as some kind of great emancipator in the west.

All this has obscured the fact that he is engaged in reckless military adventurism aided and abetted by the US. The most egregious example is the massive tragedy being unleashed by Saudi Arabia in Yemen that is causing immense suffering and has received hardly any notice in the US media or political class. Senator Chris Murphy has been a lonely voice in the US senate trying to bring attention to that war and US complicity in war crimes, as Alex Emmons reports

For U.S. officials, the difficulty in publicly addressing the crisis is caught up in U.S. complicity, given that the disease and starvation in Yemen is not the result of a random hurricane or an earthquake, but the expected result of deliberate actions taken by the United States and its allies in the Gulf.

There is a humanitarian catastrophe inside this country that very few people in this nation can locate on a map of absolutely epic proportion, said Murphy. This humanitarian catastrophe this famine. is caused in part, by the actions of the United States of America.

The brutal war in Yemen has killed well over 10,000 people since Saudi Arabia began bombing the country in 2015, but in recent months cholera has been killing people much faster than bombs. The International Committee on the Red Cross estimates that by the end of the year, a million people will have contracted the contaminated-water-born disease.

The outbreak is often portrayed in the media as a random and tragic event in a war-torn country, but it is a predictable, even intended, consequence of the coalitions campaign of collective punishment. As Murphy argued on the Senate floor, Saudi Arabia, led by its headstrong Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, is hoping to use disease and starvation to force the country to surrender to its terms, a strategy that i...

Pluto's Hydrocarbon Haze Makes it Even Colder "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Pluto is much colder than what would normally be expected due to a haze of hydrocarbon particles suspended in Pluto's tenuous atmosphere:

One of the more bizarre things [New Horizons] found was that the haze in Pluto's atmosphere was much thicker than our previous peeks indicated. The icy hunk of rock also had an atmosphere much cooler than earlier estimates, topping out at -333.4 F (more than 50 degrees colder than expected, even for something about 40 times further from the Sun than Earth is).

Now, a study [DOI: 10.1038/nature24465] [DX] published in Nature links those two atmospheric observations. A computer model developed by University of California Santa Cruz planetary scientist Xi Zhang and colleagues shows the haze of tiny droplets in the upper atmosphere is likely scattering light from the Sun, preventing heat from reaching the planet below.

"It's been a mystery since we first got the temperature data from New Horizons," Zhang, said in a statement. "Pluto is the first planetary body we know of where the atmospheric energy budget is dominated by solid-phase haze particles instead of by gases."

[...] This haze appears to be made up of large hydrocarbon droplets, created high in the atmosphere when ultraviolet light from the Sun strips electrons from particles of methane and nitrogen gas. The reaction helps form solid bits of hydrocarbon. But what gets created up there must still come down. Pulled back to the surface by gravity, the hydrocarbons start to bond together, eventually creating a thick haze. It doesn't completely block sunlight, but rather absorbs and re-scatters it, theoretically warming up part of the atmosphere while keeping most of Pluto frigid below.

This College Is Charging Students With Trespassing For Holding a Peaceful, On-Campus Protest "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

An upstate New York university has taken its free-speech-zone policy, which regulates where students can hold protests, further than most, charging students who last month organized a protest with trespassing.

The conflict between students and administrators at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute stems from a two-year debate over who should control the student union. For more than 125 years, the student union, which helps administer student funds to campus organizations and promote a more prosperous student life, has been operated by the students themselves.

In fact, it is, according to the university, one of the few private school student unions in the country that is entirely student-run.

Thats why when RPI President Shirley Ann Jackson first made moves two years ago to try to assert university control over the union, many on campus were opposed. Jackson has argued that she should have final say over who is hired as the unions director, a position that has been vacant since the university fired the organizations previous director in December 2015. The board of trustees agrees with the president, arguing that the student union which now controls a bookstore, fitness facilities, and recreational spaces has grown tremendously in the past century and now needs more direct university control.

Last month, a group of outraged students opposed to increased university influence planned a demonstration during Homecoming Week, a time during which alumni, donors, and other bigwigs come to campus for events to promote the school.

But the university responded by outright banning protests during homecoming and turning down a formal request to stage a protest. It then erected a literal fence around parts of campus, preventing students from approaching a building where the president would be hosting university donors for an event. University staff also tore down posters promoting a planned protest.

More than 100 students, faculty, and alumni staged a demonstration about changes to the student union anyway. During the October 13 protest, some protesters pierced the makeshift fence and crossed into the no-go zone.

Footage of Al Franken Making BABY RAPE Joke Resurfaces Amid Sexual Assault Allegations (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

Amid sexual harassment allegations made by model and actress Leeann Tweeden against Al Franken, footage of the Democrat Senator cracking a vile baby rape joke at Rob Reiners Comedy Central Roast in 2000 has resurfaced.

Video credit: GotNews

SOTT reports:

A 2000 Comedy Central Roast of director Rob Reiner featured Franken making baby rape jokes about Reiner. On a typical night, Carl [Reiner] would slip into Robs bed, roll him over, swab him down and say something like, Im thinking about hiring Morey Amsterdam to play Buddy Sorrell, what do you think?' Franken said as Reiner blurted out, Oh, Jesus.

Well, the success of The Dick Van Dyke Show changed things dramatically, Carl started inviting many of his famous friends to fuck his son, Franken continued. That list includes some of the greats in comedy: Paul Lynde, Dom DeLuise, Rip Taylor, Danny Kaye, Charles Nelson Reilly and Rock Hudson whom, I frankly dont think is that funny.

Thank you for doing so much to make sure another kid doesnt end up like you, Franken snarked.

Texas Sheriff Receives Backlash After Threatening Charges Over Fuck Trump Sticker "IndyWatch Feed World"

A Texas sheriff is under fire for making a Facebook post about his intention to take punitive measures against a truck driver displaying a bumper sticker declaring FUCK TRUMP AND FUCK YOU FOR VOTING FOR HIM.

On Wednesday morning, Sheriff Troy E. Nehls of Fort Bend County, Texas, posted a picture of the back of a truck asking members of the community to help him find the offender.

I have received numerous calls regarding the offensive display on this truck as it is often seen along FM 359. If you know who owns this truck or it is yours, I would like to discuss it with you, he said.

Nehls apparently already sought to impose punishment, adding, Our Prosecutor has informed us she would accept Disorderly Conduct charges regarding it, but I feel we could come to an agreement regarding a modification to it.

fuck trump

He also posted a picture in the comments of legal code concerning disorderly conduct, apparently attempting to justify his attempt to suppress free speech by suggesting the truck driver was instigating a breach of the peace.

The statute, Sec. 42.01, says a person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly uses abusive, indecent, profane or vulgar language, and the language by its very utterance tends to incite an immediate breach of the peace, or if it makes an offensive gesture of display in a public place, and the gesture or display tends to incite an immediate breach of the peace.

Attempting to cite this statute suggests Trump supporters could be so triggered by free speech about the president they might incite violence, a particularly hilarious notion considering the right has spent months virtue signaling about the first amendment and scolding leftists for being violent snowflakes.

And the Internet responded swiftly as thousands of commenters flowed in offering relentless trolling, thoughtful defense...

Celebrating Natural Hair. "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Its truly rotten that so many places are determined to restrict and hate on a persons natural hair, and to especially make girls feel ugly. This is not a matter of conformity as a social good, this is just plain old hateful bigotry, and it stinks, as bigotry always does. Enter CreativeSoul Photo:

Atlanta-based CreativeSoul Photo brought an inspiring artistic vision to life that highlights the beauty of black girls and their natural hair. Regis and Kahran are the husband and wife duo behind the photography studio, and their series Afro Art represents their expertise in capturing portraits as well as visual storytelling. The striking images feature young girls in elaborate costuming and hairstyles, from a Baroque-era aesthetic to steampunk clothing to fierce high-fashion ensembles.

The portraits of girls featured in Afro Art are stylish and carry themselves with confidence and grace. The feelings evoked from the series speak to the larger idea surrounding it. We feel that it is so important for kids of color to be able to see positive images that look like them in the media, Kahran told My Modern Met in an email. Unfortunately the lack of diversity often plays into the stereotypes that they are not good enough and often forces kids to have low self-esteem.

To help combat these negative feelings, the couple showcases kids who love how they look. We hope that viewers will see the beauty and versatility of afro hair, Kahran explains, and we hope that girls around the world will be inspired to love their unique differences and beauty within.

The portraits and subjects are stunningly beautiful all. You can see some of them here.

Some say she resigned, but never mind. Its good that the BBC reported it, even if they had to cast doubt on it even as they said it.

Presumably the timorous use of scare quotes is to indicate that it was reported speech rather than an accidental value-judgement on the part of the 'reporter'.
A potential Labour councillor has been removed from the candidate list after being accused of being anti-Semitic.

The BBC has contacted Ms Khan for comment. Labour said it "condemns all anti-Semitism in the strongest possible terms.

I cant help noticing that the BBC is careful to tell us that the claims (of antisemitism) were reported on the Jewish News website, using the distancing framework:

Israeli army chief says ready to share information with Saudi Arabia "IndyWatch Feed War"

DUBAI (Reuters) The Israeli armys chief of staff told an Arabic language online newspaper that Israel was ready to share intelligence information with Saudi Arabia, saying their countries had a common interest in standing up to Iran.

Lieutenant General Gadi Eizenkot told the privately Saudi-owned Elaph in what it said was his first interview with an Arabic newspaper that Israel had no plans to attack Lebanons Hezbollah group.

Saudi Arabia has ratcheted up pressure on arch-foe Iran, accusing Tehran of trying to expand its influence in Arab countries, often through proxies including the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah group.

Increased tension between Tehran and Riyadh has fueled speculation that shared interests may push Saudi Arabia and Israel to working together against what they see as a common Iranian threat.

Saudi Arabia maintains that any relations with Israel hinge on Israeli withdrawal from Arab lands occupied in the 1967 Middle East war.

Asked if Israel had shared any information with Saudi Arabia, Eizenkot said: We are ready to share information if necessary. There are many shared interests between us.

He said U.S. President Donald Trumps election on a platform that calls for increasing pressure on Iran has provided an opportunity for new alliances in the Middle East.

Both Saudi Arabia and Israel view Iran as a main threat to the Middle East.

A major and general strategic plan must be prepared to stop the Iranian danger, and we are ready to exchange expertise with moderate Arab states and exchange intelligence information to face Iran, he said, according to Elaph, which said the interview was conducted at Eizenkots office in Tel Aviv by an Israeli Arab journalist....

'Weinstein level stuff': Former secret service agent had to protect women from Joe Biden "IndyWatch Feed World"

A former Secret Service agent assigned to the Vice President Joe Biden residence claims that the Service often had to protect female agents from him. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the agent asserted that, "We had to cancel the VP Christmas get together at the Vice President's house because Biden would grope all of our wives and girlfriend's asses." The annual party was for agents and Navy personnel who were tasked with protecting the Biden family. "He would mess with every single woman or teen. It was horrible," the agent said. According to the source, a Secret Service agent once got suspended for a week in 2009 for shoving Biden after he cupped his girlfriend's breast while the couple was taking a photo with him. The situation got so heated, the source told Cassandra Fairbanks, that others had to step in to prevent the agent from hitting the then-Vice President.

Cremated human remains in unearthed in China may belong to the Buddha "IndyWatch Feed World"

Cremated human remains found inside a ceramic box in Jingchuan County, China, might be those of the Buddha, though archeologists have not confirmed that. An inscription says the remains were buried June 22, 1013, and belong to the Buddha, who is said to have lived from 563 B.C. to 483 B.C. More than 260 Buddhist statues were found buried near the remains, but researchers are not certain they were buried at the same time since the inscription does not mention them. Researchers noted this isn't the first time remains of the Buddha - also known as Gautama Buddha or Siddhrtha Gautama - have purportedly been found.

Obama Rarely Prosecuted Criminals Who Sought To Buy Guns Illegally "IndyWatch Feed World"

guns-and-money

More than 100,000 convicted felons or other prohibited persons tried to buy guns each year during President Barack Obamas administration by lying on their applications, but the Justice Department only considered prosecuting about 30 to 40 people each year, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation.

The Obama administration may have publicly aligned itself with anti-gun activists, but it consistently turned a blind eye to prosecute known criminals who tried to buy guns.

A June 2016 Justice Department Inspector Generals report revealed that between 2008 and 2015 the U.S. Attorneys office considered prosecuting less than 32 people per year for lying on form 4473, the federal application to buy guns.

Surprisingly, the Obama administrations harshest critics are gun manufacturers themselves.

People could do what is called, lie and buy, explained Lawrence Keane, a senior vice president of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a nonprofit organization that represents gun manufacturers.

But very infrequently is anyone ever prosecuted. Whats the point of making it a crime if you dont enforce it? he asked in an interview with TheDCNF.

Its a long-standing problem. And it was certainly true over the last eight years where the Department of Justice did not prosecute people, he complained.

Daniel D. Roberts, who in 2009 was named Assistant Director of the FBIs Criminal Justice Information Services Division, confirmed that more than 100,000 criminals each year attempt to buy guns even though they have rap sheets.

When I was there, it was running around 100,000 a year of firearm purchasers that tried to go through to buy guns. I think its more than 100,000 now, he told TheDCNF in an interview. That should trigger a referral to the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for investigation for lying on the forms.

Two of every 10 gun denials referred to the ATF was sent to field offices for prosecution, a Justice Department report by the Bureau of Justice Statistics in 2013 and 2014 found. Eight of ten never faced prosecution, according to the report.

Roberts ran the FBIs National Instant Criminal Background...

Yaffa the city my family once called home "IndyWatch Feed War"

Amirah AbuLughod is a farmer living in New York and a granddaughter of one of the 120,000 Palestinians displaced from Yaffa in 1948. She visited Yaffa on Interfaith Peace-Builders recent Olive Harvest Delegation. To read more delegate reflections from the trip got to www.ifpb.org/del63.

I walked these streets we walked these streets with a man whose family stayed after the Nakba in 1948. His family was one of only 4,000 who stayed out of an original population of 120,000.

My family was one of those who had the means and opportunity to leave.

I learned on the tour of my grandparents city that those who stayed were forced into Ajami the refugee camp ghetto created for Yaffa refugees on their own land. The ghetto was dismantled only after Holocaust survivors witnessed Ajami and saw something all too familiar.

We walked through the now artist village which was once the location of my siedos (grandfathers) home. Im told by family that the site of his home looks so very different than it once did. As we sat in the beautifully landscaped park surrounded by greenery, blooming bougainvillea, and a salty breeze from the Mediterranean, our guide informed us that any open space in Yaffa was once the most populated. The most populated areas were the first to be demolished, flattened to the ground they now lay barren of homes, filled with people enjoying the view of the Mediterranean Sea.

According to most peoples definition, Yaffa is a beautiful city sea side views, a bustling shopping scene, an artists village, restaurants everywhere you turn.

Amirah Abu Lughod in Yaffa

I found myself struggling to see the beauty. I knew what I was seeing was nothing like the Yaffa my grandparents called home and what did resemble their existence there felt like a restoration of mockery.  It looks nothing like what my ancestors called home because my ancestors were those people who lived on the land with no people for a people with no land.

WV-DEP Side-Steps 401 Certification for Major Natural Gas Pipelines "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

Secretary Capertons Letter to WVDEP Staff Regarding the Mountain Valley Pipeline (11/13/2017)

CHARLESTON, W.Va. West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) Cabinet Secretary Austin Caperton sent the following letter to all staff this morning explaining the agencys decision on the Mountain Valley Pipeline.

Good morning:

Theres been a lot of news coverage recently of the WVDEPs decision regarding the Mountain Valley Pipeline. Many of you have been asked questions by friends or family about exactly what this agency did, what we didnt do, and how we arrived at our decision.

Id like to explain how this agency is protecting water quality with its permits.

First, it is important to understand Section 401 Certifications and Section 404 permits. Section 401 of the federal Clean Water Act allows states an opportunity to ensure federal permitting actions will comply with a states water quality standards. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issues Clean Water Act Section 404 stream crossing and wetland permits, allowing fill to be placed in streams and wetlands. This permit is not for upland activities. The USACE can issue either an individual 404 permit for a particular activity or a general permit known as a Nationwide Permit. Nationwide Permits are used for common activities like highway construction or utility line construction. The USACE reissues Nationwide Permits every 5 years and likewise states are given an opportunity to issue 401 Certifications for these permits every 5 years.

The timeline is important to understand WVDEPs actions. WVDEP issued a 401 individual water quality certification for the Mountain Valley Pipeline project on March 23, 2017.

That 401 Certification had several conditions to ensure that temporary impacts to West Virginias waters would be minimized, and mitigation would be provided for permanent impacts. Importantly, during the same period of time that the WVDEP was working on this MVP individual certification, it was also developing special conditions for the reissuance of the USACE nationwide permit. This permit is called the Nationwide 12 permit. It is typically used by the USACE for utility line construction (including pipeline stream crossings). The special conditions West Virginia included in it is certification on the newly reissued Nationwide 12 permit (in April 2017) largely mirrored the conditions that West Virginia had previously placed (in March 2017) on the MVPs 401 Individual Certification.

An appeal was filed on Aug. 15, 2017 against WVDEP in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, raising the issues of antidegradation, karst, and the response to public comments. The WVDEP vacated and remanded the 401 Certification to re-evaluate the complete application. During this re-...

New Jersey Bill Would Create Commission Empowered to Probe Deaths Related to Pregnancy and Childbirth "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Two New Jersey lawmakers have introduced a bill to overhaul how the state examines deaths related to pregnancy and childbirth, proposing one of the most sweeping maternal mortality review processes in the country.

Under the legislation introduced last week, hospitals and clinicians would face new requirements to report maternal deaths to state regulators, families would play a much greater role in understanding what happened, and the findings would be used to push for adoption of life-saving treatment protocols and other concrete policies to protect mothers and babies.

State Sen. Joseph Vitale said the legislation, S3452, was inspired by a ProPublica and NPR report on the case of Lauren Bloomstein, a neonatal nurse who worked at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey and who died there from childbirth complications in 2011.

The ProPublica-NPR piece, part of our Lost Mothers project on maternal deaths and near-misses, highlighted a number of systemic problems in the way hospitals throughout the U.S. handle obstetric emergencies and sometimes prioritize the health and safety of infants over the well-being of their mothers.

Other ProPublica pieces have described widespread inadequacies in how maternal deaths are monitored and investigated in New Jersey and elsewhere. The new bill would address many of those problems.

New Jerseys record on maternal health has long been mixed a 2010 report by Amnesty International ranked it 35th among the states for its rate of pregnancy-related deaths. According to the most recent data, black mothers in the state are five times likelier to die from maternal complications than white mothers are.

The state already has a maternal mortality review committee in place to analyze deaths that occur within a year of the end of pregnancy. But the panel has little authority, it doesnt assess the preventability of deaths, and its sporadic reports have had little impact.

Under the new bill, a 3...

Turmeric and Black Pepper: A Winning Combination "IndyWatch Feed World"

Turmeric and Black Pepper: A Winning Combination | tumeric-and-black-pepper | Natural Medicine Special Interests

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a spice held in high regard for its bountiful health properties and its culinary uses. Its a favorite herb of Ayurvedic and Chinese traditional medicine, and its therapeutic uses date back thousands of years. Numerous studies have found that turmeric root can have a significant positive effect on neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic, immune system, and cellular health. It may even help support your thyroid and promote longevity. Turmeric owes its many health-promoting qualities to curcumin, the natural compound that gives turmeric its rich golden color.[12]

The Trouble With Turmeric

For all its miraculous health benefits, turmeric does have one weakness. The golden spice has very low bioavailability. This means that your body can only use a very small portion of the turmeric you consume. As the absorption levels of curcumin are very low, your body cannot harness the full healing properties of the spice. Fortunately, there is a simple way to enhance bioavailability. Just add black pepper to unlock the full potential of turmeric.

The U.S. Just Reversed A Major Ban On Elephant Tusks And Other 'Trophies' "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

The U.S. government plans to reverse a 2014 ban that was passed to help save elephants from extinction, according to Safari Club International (SCI), a hunters' rights organization, which announced the news this week. ABC News then confirmed it with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

Elephants are listed as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), which makes importing trophies impossible. But there is a loophole: Importing trophies is legal if there is reason to believe that hunting and killing endangered animals can help boost conservation. Zimbabwe which is currently in the grips of a political crisis and is where Walter Palmer shot and killed Cecil the lion in an illegal hunt and Zambia both claim that wealthy trophy hunters from the U.S. could aid local conservation efforts. Lifting the ban would encourage hunters to come and kill the animals so many people around the world are rallying to save.

"Lets be clear: Elephants are on the list of threatened species; the global community has rallied to stem the ivory trade; and now, the U.S. government is giving American trophy hunters the green light to kill them," Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), said. "What kind of message does it send to say to the world that poor Africans who are struggling to survive cannot kill elephants in order to use or sell their parts to make a living, but that its just fine for rich Americans to slay the beasts for their tusks to keep as trophies?"

Model and Sports Commentator Accuses Creepy Democrat Senator Al Franken of Sexual Assault "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

How gross.

Model and actress Leeann Tweeden accused Democrat Senator Al Franken pictured above groping a female US soldier of sexual assault.
Tweeden made the allegations on her radio show this week.

Tweeden said Franken kissed her groper her without her consent when they were traveling on a USO tour in 2006.

KABC reported:

In December of 2006, I embarked on my ninth USO Tour to entertain our troops, my eighth to the Middle East since the 9/11 attacks. My father served in Vietnam and my then-boyfriend (and now husband, Chris) is a pilot in the Air Force, so bringing a little piece of home to servicemembers stationed far away from their families was both my passion and my privilege.

Also on the trip were country music artists Darryl Worley, Mark Wills, Keni Thomas, and some cheerleaders from the Dallas Cowboys. The headliner was comedian and now-senator, Al Franken.

Franken had written some skits for the show and brought props and costumes to go along with them. Like many USO shows before and since, the skits were full of sexual innuendo geared toward a young, male audience.

As a TV host and sports broadcaster, as well as a model familiar to the audience from the covers of FHM, Maxim and Playboy, I was only expecting to emcee and introduce the acts, but Franken said he had written a part for me that he thought would be funny, and I agreed to play along.

When I saw the script, Franken had written a moment when his character comes at me for a kiss. I suspected what he was after, but I figured I could turn my head at the last minute, or put my hand over his mouth, to get more laughs from the crowd.

On the day of the show Franken and I were alone backstage going over our lines one last time. He said to me, We need to rehearse the kiss. I laughed and ignored him. Then he said it again. I said something like, Relax Al, this isnt SNLwe dont need to rehearse the kiss.

He continued to insist, and I was beginning to get uncomfortable.

He repeated that actors really need to rehearse everything and that we must practice the kiss. I said OK so he would stop badgering me. We did the line leading up to the kiss and then he came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth.

Egypt says captured fighter involved in deadly desert attack is Libyan "IndyWatch Feed War"

Egyptian police

CAIRO (Reuters) A foreign fighter captured during a raid on Islamist militants blamed by Egypt for a deadly attack in its western desert last month is a Libyan national, the Egyptian interior ministry said on Thursday.

The captured fighter, Abdelrahim Mohamed al-Mesmari, 25, is from the eastern Libyan town of Derna, an interior ministry statement said.

A little-known group called Ansar al-Islam claimed responsibility for the Oct. 21 attack. Three security sources said at the time that at least 52 police officers and conscripts were killed but the interior ministry refuted that figure the next day and said only 16 policemen had been killed.

The new militant group risks opening up another front for security forces far beyond the remote northern Sinai, where they have battled an Islamic State insurgency since 2014.

The Egyptian air force killed the 15 militants responsible for the deadly attack and later arrested 29 others for adopting the same ideology, the statement said.

The militants were being trained in Derna, it added.

NEW YORK (AFP)

Wall Street stocks rose early Thursday, bouncing from recent weakness along with global equities following solid earnings from Wal-Mart Stores and Cisco Systems.

The gains followed two days of declines prompted by weakness in petroleum-linked shares and doubts about the prospects of President Donald Trumps tax cut plan in Washington.

Analysts said sentiment was lifted by expectations that the House of Representatives would approve a tax cut plan later in the day, although the proposal still faces obstacles in Washington.

About 15 minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 23,399.42, up 0.6 percent.

The broad-based S&P 500 advanced 0.5 percent to 2,576.58, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 0.7 percent to 6,755.99.

Briefing.com analyst Patrick OHare cautioned that investor conviction remains weak.

The typical pattern of late has featured weak opens that then give way to a steady buy-the-dip bid that makes things look better by the close, OHare said.

In that vein, then, we wouldnt put it past this fickle market to see a solid open today give way to selling on the strength that makes things look worse by the end of the day.

Wal-Mart surged 6.6 percent after boosting its full-year profit forecast as US comparable stores rose 2.7 percent, propelled in part by higher sales in hurricane-affected regions.

Cisco, another Dow component, rose 2.2 percent after reporting that quarterly earnings rose 3.1 percent to $2.4 billion, besting analyst expectations.

Netanyahu uses Iranian earthquake to praise Israeli humanity and denounce Iranian hatred "IndyWatch Feed War"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is using the earthquake that has killed more than 500 people in Iran to score political points against Iran. Our humanity is greater than their hatred, he said.

Speaking by video to a major American Jewish group in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, Netanyahu said he offered disaster aid to Iran and Iraq:

Ive said many times that we have no quarrel with the people of Iran. Our quarrel is only with the tyrannical regime that holds them hostage and threatens our destruction. But our humanity is greater than their hatred. Israel continues to be a light unto the nations and this is what I am proud of. And all of you can be proud of Israels morals and Israels might.

The Times of Israel says the offer was turned down.

According to an official in Netanyahus office, the offer was immediately rejected.

This shows the true face of the Iranian regime, the official said.

Netanyahu regularly describes the Iranian regime as evil, and over and over has likened the Iranians to Nazis. He and his allies in the U.S. have often issued threats to attack Iran.

The earthquake struck Sunday in western Iran. The death toll so far is 530 in Iran and another 9 in Iraq.

Netanyahus talking point about Iranian hate was echoed by the former US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, who is working now for an Israeli thinktank. Shapiro tweeted:

Sadly, Iran hates Israel more than it wants to find earthquake victims buried in the rubble. Turned-down top-notch disaster relief out of hate.

EFF Urges DHS to Abandon Social Media Surveillance and Automated Extreme Vetting of Immigrants "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

EFF is urging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to end its programs of social media surveillance and automated extreme vetting of immigrants. Together, these programs have created a privacy-invading integrated system to harvest, preserve, and data-mine immigrants' social media information, including use of algorithms that sift through posts using vague criteria to help determine who to admit or deport.

EFF today joined a letter from the Brennan Center for Justice, Georgetown Laws Center on Privacy and Technology, and more than 50 other groups urging DHS to immediately abandon its self-described "Extreme Vetting Initiative."Also, EFF's Peter Eckersley joined a letter from more than 50 technology experts opposing this program. This follows EFF's participation last month in comments from the Center for Democracy & Technology and dozens of other advocacy groups urging DHS to stop retaining immigrants' social media information in a government record-keeping system called "Alien Files" (A-files).

DHS for some time has collected social media information about immigrants and foreign visitors. DHS recently published a notice announcing its policy of storing that social media information in its A-Files. Also, DHS announced earlier this year that it is developing its Extreme Vetting Initiative, which will apply algorithms to the social media of immigrants to automate decision-making in deportation and other procedures.

These far-reaching programs invade the privacy and chill the freedoms of speech and association of visa holders, lawful permanent residents, and naturalized U.S. citizens alike. The...

FDA chief seeking more regulatory power on kratom; warns about use for treating opioid addiction "IndyWatch Feed World"

Citing 36 deaths, the Food and Drug Administration chief warned consumers Tuesday not to use the herbal supplement kratom to ease opioid withdrawal and announce plans to step its regulatory oversight to combat the opioid epidemic. The FDA public health advisory on kratom follows the Drug Enforcement Administration's reversal or at least delay of plans to classify kratom as a controlled substance on the same level as heroin and LSD. FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb says the FDA plans to work with the DEA to determine how kratom should be classified. Kratom, a plant grown naturally in countries including Thailand and Malaysia, is widely sold in smoke shops and other locations as a powder that can be used in tea to slow the effects of opioid withdrawal. But it has addictive properties of its own, says a public health advisory related to the FDA's mounting concerns regarding risks associated with the use of kratom.

Are the Trump Tax Cuts Bad Politics or Not? "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

Paul Waldman makes a compelling argument that the Republicans tax bill will be bad politics if it passes. Its the kind of bad policy that leaves a lot of victims who will know the cause of their distress and who will easily be able to assign responsibility for their plight.

I suspect Waldman may be a bit optimistic about those latter points, if for no other reason than that the Mighty Right-Wing Wurlitzer seems to still have a powerful ability to deflect blame and throw sand in peoples eyes. But the real question for Republicans is that theyre terrified of the alternative to passing this legislation. No matter how bad it looks, they keep asking themselves compared to what?

Its a fair point. Doing nothing will be bad politics, too, and so the real question for the GOP is which lousy option is worse.

Theres definitely some benefit to being able to accomplish something, even if its terrible. They can say they did something to harm Obamacare. They can tell their donors that they delivered the truckloads of cash. They can get Trump off their backs and off their case, if only for a little while. For everyone else, theres two sides to every story, and they can muddy the waters.

The way I see their dilemma, this is a live-to-fight-another-day strategy, and there are two ways it can be wrong. The first is if it is unnecessary and they can live to fight another day without it. The second is if it wont make a damn bit of difference in the end and itll just add to their long-term woes.

The surprising victory of Donald Trump proved that the Republicans are capable of misjudging their short-term chances and thinking theyre in a much worse spot than theyre really in. So, maybe theyre panicking without enough justification.

On the other hand, perhaps they think this will keep them from drowning but it actually wont buy them anything in terms of political victories next fall. In that case, it will almost definitely weaken them further.

I think the decisive thing is the donors. The typical large investor in the GOP wants a financial return on investment. If they dont get it, theyre not going to make more large investments.

The GOP thinks, probably correctly, that they may get wiped out next fall largely due to their idiot president. But as long as the donors feel like they were made whole, they can always make a comeback.

And so their decision to impose really bad policy on the nation is most likely the sanest of two miserable choices.

Is Ted Cruz Texan Enough for Texas Republicans? "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

Hey, do yall remember James Robison? No? Well, then let me have Mike Huckabee reintroduce him to you.

Despite Huckabees inclination toward a forgiving Christianity, Robisons passion drew him in. He dropped out of seminary after one year to take a job as Robisons director of communications.

The way the Moral Majority movement was actually started was there was a rally that James Robison did in 1979 that I helped cordinate, Huckabee said. It was all because of the local television station in Dallas throwing him off the air, because, in a sermon that he preached on television, Robison said homosexuality is a sin. Think: 1979, it wasnt really an outrageous statement. Anyway, they got some complaints and they told him he couldnt be on television. Well, Texas? Are you kidding me? More than ten thousand Christians came to a Freedom Rally at the Reunion Arena, in Dallas, to protest Robisons expulsion. There was this amazing energy coming up from these evangelical Christians, Huckabee said. I remember almost being frightened by it. If someone had gotten to the microphone and said, Lets go four blocks from here and take Channel 8 apart, that audience wouldve taken the last brick off the building.

Did that refresh your recollection?

Good.

It looks like James Robison isnt thrilled with Senator Ted Cruzs performance in office because the vice president and executive producer of Robisons television program Life Today is going to challenge Cruz in a primary.

Christian television executive Bruce Jacobson, who has discussed the possibility of taking on the Texas Republican in a primary, has a now live campaign website, brucefortexas.com, and Twitter handle, @brucefortexas

[Jacobson] worked in the U.S. Department of Transportation under President Ronald Reagan, and served as a deputy regional representative for the Department of Labor under President George H. W. Bush. He also served as a director of a Regional Emergency Management Team during the Bush administration.

I have a couple of other interesting tidbits to note.

A Fort Worth-based super PAC has been raising money to help a potential Jacobson campaign. The group, Texans for Texas, has raised about $25,000. It has p...

Where I Agree With Mo Brooks "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

In a way, I sympathize with Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama. I understand how incredibly valuable it is to have a seat in the U.S. Senate, and I wouldnt want to concede one to the Republicans, especially in a dark blue state. The issue is amplified by the fact that the Republicans currently enjoy a narrow 52-48 majority, and we should keep in mind also that John McCain is very ill and that Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi has missed time recently because of poor health. The Republicans want to pass a tax bill through the Senate that is dependent on them having fifty seats, at a minimum, and losing the Alabama seat would get them down to a very uneasy fifty-one. Besides these factors, though, I can understand where Brooks is coming from when he says this:

America faces huge challenges that are vastly more important than contested sexual allegations from four decades ago, Brooks said in a text message to AL.com. Who will vote in Americas best interests on Supreme Court justices, deficit and debt, economic growth, border security, national defense, and the like? Socialist Democrat Doug Jones will vote wrong. Roy Moore will vote right. Hence, I will vote for Roy Moore.

I could say all the same things about Sen. Bob Menendez who is currently on trial in New Jersey for corruption. He may well get off, or at least get a mistrial based on a hung jury, but if he were to be convicted and forced to resign from the Senate, Im sure the person Gov. Chris Christie chose to replace him would vote wrong from my perspective on a whole lot more things than Menendez would.

Personally, though, Id prefer to see Menendez convicted because I think what hes done is every bit as wrong as what Virginia governor Bob McDonnell did, and I think the Supreme Court was wrong to overturn McDonnells conviction. Still, Im impure or partisan enough to hope that, were Menendez found guilty, it would be incoming Democratic governor Phil Murphy who would appoint a replacement for Menendez. I definitely understand the sentiment in favor of finding some way to save the Alabama seat for the Republicans.

Where I differ with Mo Brooks is, first, that I want Menendez held accountable for his actions and Im upset that the Supreme Courts leniency in the McDonnell case might prevent that from happening. In other words, my sense of right or wrong isnt compromised by any sense that I need to be a team player.

Secondly, while I might want to avoid the worst consequences o...

WikiLeaks Looks Like a Russian Front Organization "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

On December 16th, Julian Assange or one of his assistants reached out to Donald Trump Jr. by direct message on Twitter and asked him to make a request of his father, who was then the president-elect. They knew that Australia wouldnt go along with it, but could Trump Sr. please suggest that Assange be appointed as the ambassador to the United States? This would send a message to Sweden, Australia and the U.K. to back off their legal cases.

As far as I can tell, this is the only communication WikiLeaks had with Donald Trump Jr. that didnt directly promote Russias interests.

Lets look at the first communication made via Twitter:

Just before the stroke of midnight on September 20, 2016, at the height of last years presidential election, the WikiLeaks Twitter account sent a private direct message to Donald Trump Jr., the Republican nominees oldest son and campaign surrogate. A PAC run anti-Trump site putintrump.org is about to launch, WikiLeaks wrote. The PAC is a recycled pro-Iraq war PAC. We have guessed the password. It is putintrump. See About for who is behind it. Any comments?

There are a host of issues raised by this communication, including legal questions about what laws may have been broken and by whom. But what stands out to me is that WikiLeaks was interested in something that linked Trump to Putin in a negative way. This was the subject that motivated them to make contact, and Donald Trump Jr. was the one who they thought would be the best person to arm with a stolen password.

The next communication came about a month later during the endgame of the campaign. In one sense, WikiLeaks was trolling for a scoop. They wanted to help neutralize a potential October Surprise by getting their hands on Trumps tax returns themselves before they could be released by an unfriendly source. But, on closer inspection, they primarily wanted the tax returns because it would rectify their reputation for pro-Trump bias and give more weight to the DNC and Podesta-hacked leaks they had been publishing on a rolling basis. Since Russia had procured the emails, this was clearly in Russias interest.

Hey Don. We have an unusual idea, WikiLeaks wrote on October 21, 2016. Leak us one or more of your fathers tax returns. WikiLeaks then laid out three reasons why this would benefit both the Trumps and WikiLeaks. One, The New York Times had already published a fragment of Trumps tax return......

Retired FBI Agent Accuses 9/11 Commission of Lying About Saudi Connections "IndyWatch Feed World"

Saudi flag

Sworn testimony from a former FBI investigator claims the 9/11 Commission lied to the American public regarding the relationship between the hijackers and Saudi Arabia.

The question over exactly what role the Saudi Kingdom played in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 is once again a hot topic. The Saudi Kingdom has long been suspected of financing the 9/11 hijackers. A fourteen-year-old lawsuit brought forth by the 9/11 Families and Survivors United for Justice Against Terrorism seeks to hold the Saudi Kingdom accountable for the attacks. Meanwhile, the Saudi government continues to deny any involvement and calls for the lawsuits dismissal.

Now, The Florida Bulldog reports that a new sworn statement from a former FBI agent has once again called attention to the involvement of the Saudi Kingdom. In a six-page statement provided as part of the lawsuit against Saudi Arabia, retired FBI agent Stephen K. Moore says the 9/11 Commission has provided the American public with incorrect statements regarding the FBIs investigation. Moore is a 25-year veteran of the FBI who retired in 2008. He also led the FBIs PENTTBOM, or Pentagon/Twin Towers Bombing Investigation, a 400-member task force responsible for investigating the 9/11 attacks.

Specifically, Moore disputed statements made by the 9/11 Commission regarding the FBIs investigation into two Saudi hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, two of the five men accused of crashing American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon. Moores statements deal with Hazmi and al-Mihdhars connection to Saudi diplomat Fahad al-Thumairy and Omar al-Bayoumi.  Thumairy was an Imam at a Los Angeles mosque with extreme views while Bayoumi was a suspected agent of the Saudi government posing as a student.

I have read the statements in the 9/11 Commission report that we have not found evidence that Thumairy provided assistance to the two operatives (Hazmi and Mihdhar). In light of the proof assembled in our investigation this statement is incorrect. There was clearly evidence that Thumairy provided assistance to Hazmi and Mihdhar, Moore said in the statement.

Here are more excerpts of Moores statement as reported by The Florida Bulldog:

Based on evidence we gathered during the course of our investigation, I concluded that diplomatic and intelligence personnel of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia knowingly provided material support to the two 9/11 hijackers...

This Is Barbaric: Sen. Murphy Slams US for Contributing to Yemens Humanitarian Crisis "IndyWatch Feed World"

Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) blasted the U.S. government on Tuesday for enabling the humanitarian crisis thats underway in Yemenjust before the U.S.-backed Saudi coalition bombed the airport in the nations capitol of Sanaa, further blocking aid from getting to Yemeni civilians.

Showing pictures of children who are starving amid what U.N. officials have called the worst famine the world has seen in decades, Murphy told his Senate colleagues, This humanitarian catastrophethis famineis caused in part by the actions of the United States of America.

We have a responsibility to make sure that the coalition, of which we are a part, is not using starvation as a weapon of war, said Murphy. This is a stain on the conscience of our nation if we continue to remain silent.

The bombing of Sanaas airport is expected to worsen the impact of the Saudi blockade. The Saudis said this week that they plan to loosen the blockade but have yet to follow through. The coalition has closed many of Yemens ports to ostensibly prevent weapons-smuggling from Iran to the Houthi rebels who are fighting the Yemeni government forcesand civilians have suffered the consequences.

In addition the famine, Yemenis are also suffering from what Oxfam has called the worst cholera outbreak in history, with at least one million expected to be affected by the end of the year, including 600,000 children. The blockade has prevented desperately-needed sanitation supplies from getting to aid agencies, making it impossible to prevent new cases as the medical communityin which many doctors and nurses have been working without pay since much of the healthcare system has been shut downtries to treat those who are already sick.

In his speech on the Senate floor, Murphy added that the United States contributions to the Saudi coalition have made actions like the bombing of Sanaas airport possible.

It is U.S. refueling planes flying in the sky around Yemen that restock the Saudi fighter jets with fuel, allowing them to drop more ordnance, said...

Israel Agrees to Share Intel on Iran with Saudis "IndyWatch Feed War"

Tehran (GPA) The move to share intelligence on Iran is just the latest public show of friendship between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

Speaking to the Saudi Elaph Journal, Israeli Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, spoke of a new level to the budding public relationship between his country and Saudi Arabia. Getting beyond the initial shock of the first instance of an Israeli chief of staff appearing in Saudi media, the substance of what Eisenkot said were also terrible.

According to Eisenkot, Israel is now ready to exchange experiences with moderate Arab countries and exchange intelligence to confront Iran. The biggest player apparently considered to be among these moderate countries. Eisenkot also went on to say that Israel is highly regarded by the moderate countries in the region.

Eisenkot said as much when he was asked if Israel had already shared intelligence with the Saudis. While not disclosing if this is already the case, he did say We are ready to share information if necessary. There are many common interests between us.

In the past, Eisenkot has also said other ridiculous things, chief among them being that Iran is the biggest threat to the region.

And make no mistake, Iran is the top priority for this new agreement between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

When asked about Tehrans goals, Eisenkot stated with full confidence that Iran seeks to take control of the Middle East, creating a Shiite crescent from Lebanon to Iran, and then from the Gulf to the Red Sea, and We must prevent this from happening.

In light of recent actions by the Saudis and Israelis, Eisenkot also made the bogus claim that it is the Iranians are the ones bringing about an escalation.

Putin: US orchestrated Russian doping scandal to sow social conflict inside Russia before 2018 election "IndyWatch Feed World"

The Russian police have formally demanded the extradition from the US of Gregory Rodchenkov, a former director of the anti-doping centre. Signs are emerging that there may be the influence of western intelligence involvement in his crimes. We aren't talking about James Bond style theatrics, but the all too real subtle influence and subterfuge reminiscent of the KGB's "active measures" employed during the First Cold War. In a remarkable statement on camera a few days ago, Putin said he believes the Olympic doping scandals are being orchestrated by the CIA. Specifically, he believes western corporate interests are lining up with governments to sow social conflict in Russia during the election season.

Samsung Galaxy S9 rumored to launch with Face recognition technology like iPhone X "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Samsung likely to launch Galaxy S9 early with face recognition like iPhone X

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S9 even earlier than the announcement of Galaxy S8 this year, which was in March, according to a tipster. This means that the Galaxy S9 could possibly be launched at the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2018 or maybe a few weeks before the start of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February 2018.

The same tipster has also mentioned that Samsung has borrowed some of the iPhone X feature, like the facial recognition technology also known as Face ID in iPhone X. We had recently reported how Samsung was finding it difficult to implement the in-display fingerprint scanner under the screen of Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones due to technical complications. As a result, the Korean tech giant decided not to include fingerprint sensors under the screen of the S9 line of smartphones.

However, unlike its biggest competitor, Apple who has given up on fingerprint scanner entirely in the new iPhone X in favor of its new Face ID, Samsung has decided not to follow suit. It is reportedly working on a development project known as crown that is looking into installing of the fingerprint sensor under the screen of the Galaxy Note 9.

Further, it is also rumoured that Galaxy S9 will feature a dual camera system, that was previously introduced by Samsung in Galaxy Note 8 this year and top-of-the-line specifications, including the Snapdragon 845 SoC.

Since there is no official announcement or news from the tech giant on Galaxy S9, it is advisable to take these rumors with a pinch of salt. We are likely to come across more rumors and leaks about the device in the near future until the official launch is announced.

Did Hillary Clinton sell weapons to ISIS? "IndyWatch Feed World"

Wiki Leaks CONFIRMS Hillary Sold Weapons to ISIS,

Arms dealer says Clinton and Obama accidentally gave guns to ISIS, Al Qaeda and Benghazi attackers.

An American arms dealer claims he was made a scapegoat for an Obama and Clinton-led 2011 plot to arm Libyan rebels that saw arms flowing to Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Benghazi attackers.

Marc Turi faced trial for illegally selling arms, but charges in the five-year, $10million case were dropped on October 5.

Thats because, he told Fox News, Democrats were worried about political blowback for Clinton if it emerged that the government had accidentally put weapons in the hands of Americas enemies.

I would say, 100 per cent, I was victimized, he told the channel, to somehow discredit me, to throw me under the bus, to do whatever it took to protect their next presidential candidate.

10 Compelling Reasons Why the Vegas Shooting Has Disappeared from Headlines "IndyWatch Feed World"

shoot

With the 24/7 news cycle constantly in full swing, important stories at times get lost in the constant onslaught of non-stop information. The mainstream media gatekeepers essentially dictate what social and cultural memes are injected into the public consciousness, what topics are discussed, and which cases are given publicity and thoroughly investigated with journalistic rigor.

With such oligarchical control of the mass media the media gatekeepers of information decide what stories stay in the glare of the public spotlight, and which ones are allowed to fade from the headlines.

Without question, one would reasonably expect the most deadly mass shooting in recent American history, which took place in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, to maintain a strong presence in the headlines especially given the lack of answers surrounding the case.

The scant information released by investigators indicates that Stephen Paddock, 64, who by all accounts was independently wealthy and a Vegas high-roller, opened fire on a music festival from a 32nd-floor hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Casino.

The massacre left 58 dead and 546 injured, yet one and a half months later and there are still few answers even to the most basic of questions.

Now, a month and a half later, there are few answers to the most deadly mass shooting in recent U.S. history and perhaps even more strange the case has been jettisoned from the 24/7 mainstream media cycle, despite the fact that the most basic of questions have yet to be answered.

One would assume that such a high-profile case would garner widespread interest from investigative teams across the spectrum of major broadcast mass media and cable news, and yet, there are no penetrating journalistic investigations delving into the many unanswered questions.

In fact, coverage and investigation into the highly dubious shooting are virtually non-existent outside of online alternative news media.

Here are the few facts that we know thus far, and they seem to raise more questions than answers:

1. The official timeline of the mass shooting has been changed at least three different times.

2. Paddock wired $100,000 to an account located in...

Pentagon Stands by Deal Letting ISIS Flee Raqqa "IndyWatch Feed War"

Damascus (GPA) Several top US officials have come out in defense of the deal following outrage from NATO ally Turkey.

Earlier this week, details of a deal between the US coalition, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), local tribes around Raqqa, the Raqqa Civil Council, and ISIS emerged and were reported on by everyone, including some western corporate outlets. The deal in question was an agreement between US-backed factions in Raqqa and ISIS to allow hundreds of members and captives of the terrorist group to flee.

After this agreement was discovered, more details began to emerge about the exact circumstances surrounding the ISIS withdrawal. These particulars showed a clear pattern by the US and their allies of trying to conceal their actions before the evacuation even began.

As first reported by the BBC, the truck drivers contracted to move the militants were deceived; being told they would be moving refugees and that the job would take six hours. Upon their arrival, many drivers were horrified to learn what they were actually transporting and have begun to speak out about the awful truce made by the SDF.
