Farmers Market Wayville "IndyWatch Feed Pacific"

Adelaide families now have the opportunity buy fresh food directly from producers from all over SA at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market. Tesla Sinks on Report That Suppliers Were Asked to Return Cash "IndyWatch Feed War"

Tesla Inc. asked some suppliers to return a portion of its payments to them in an attempt by the electric-car maker to turn a profit, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a memo sent to a supplier last week.

The companys shares dropped as much as 5.9 percent on Monday following the report. The bonds also declined.

Tesla, whose eroding cash position has alarmed investors, requested a meaningful amount of payments made since 2016 to be returned, according to the letter. The note stated all suppliers had been asked to help the Californian company become profitable.

The request indicates more struggles for Tesla in its quest to reverse losses. While Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk proclaimed a real carmaker after hitting a weekly goal of producing more than 5,000 mass-market Model 3s, there are doubts the volumes can be sustained. Some of the increased output, pivotal for boosting revenue and earnings, came from a makeshift tent.

Teslas stock was down 5.7 percent to $295.64 as of 9:39 a.m. in New York. Its 5.3 percent bonds due 2025 fell as much as 1.75 cents, the biggest drop since May, according to Trace bond price data. They were last quoted at 89.375 cents on the dollar as of 9:31 a.m.

The U.S. auto manufacturer declined to comment on the specific memo, but confirmed its seeking price reductions from suppliers for projects, some of which go back to 2016, according to the report. Tesla called such requests a standard part of procurement negotiations to improve its competitive advantage, especially as it increases Model 3 production, the Journal said.

Toronto Shooting Distracts from Canada's "Legal Obligation" to Resettle White Helmets? "IndyWatch Feed War"

The Toronto Shooting sure takes the heat off of the Trudeau governments support for terrorists and terrorism. Oops I mean the "white helmets" 

Considering the Toronto shooting is getting global coverage it helps take the heat off of the Israeli/UK/US governments as well.

First covered this information on Friday:

Yesterday, Sunday, one couldnt help but notice the news regarding the White Helmet terrorists and their dramatic rescue was top of the news heap. There were dozens and dozens of reports.
When Id covered the news on Friday there was a mere handful of news articles most of them NOT North American. But, by Sunday, the spin had gone into full speed. 


What was different in the reporting from Friday to Sunday?

There were 3 specific differences that I'd noticed in Sunday's reporting, as follows:

1st of all Friday, the reporting regarding the terrorist relocation  to Canada was more speculative, Sunday we had confirmation.


2ndly, Israel's involvement which was obvious on Friday anyway, was kept quiet. Sunday it too was confirmed. Israel's involvement shouldn't have been speculative because Israel's been involved with destabilizing Syria from day #1.

3rd: The general tone of the news coverage regarding this terrorist extraction was presented in a morally justified tone- These guys are heroes and deserve to be saved. Israel was just an awesome humanitarian state for assisting in this move.

Was chatting last evening with a family member, one who only gets tv program-ing, she informed me of the spin aspect- 'these were good guys'

Turn A Cheap Bluetooth Speaker Into An Audio Receiver "IndyWatch Feed Tech"

Cheap Bluetooth speakers come in all different kinds of shapes and colors, and they let you conveniently stream music, for example from your mobile phone. For [mcmchris], they had one significant shortcoming though: while most of them come with some auxiliary input port as alternative audio source, they usually lack an audio output port that would let him route the audio to his more enjoyable big-speaker sound setup. Lucky for him, its a problem that can be fixed with a wire cutter and soldering iron, and so he simply turned his cheap speaker into a Bluetooth audio receiver.

After opening the speaker, [mcmchris] discovered a regular F-6188 Bluetooth audio module built around the BK8000L chip, with the audio jack connected to the chips aux input pins. Taking a close look at the PCB, the solution seemed obvious: cut the connection to the chips aux input pins, and connect the audio jack parallel to the audio signal itself. After some trial and error, the output pins of the on-board op amplifier seemed to provide the best audio signal for his shiny new output jack. If the concept looks familiar to you, weve indeed seen a very similar approach to equip a Google Home Mini with an audio output jack before. The alternative is of course to just build a decent sized Bluetooth speaker yourself.

Elsewhere, Politico published an opinion piece headlined Putins Attack on the U.S. Is Our Pearl Harbor, which demeaned the sacrifice of American service members by likening a military attack on American soil that brought us into the bloodiest war mankind has ever experienced to phishing.

On MSNBC, where illiterate histrionic analogies litter coverage every day, a contributor compared President Trumps meeting with Vladimir Putin to Pearl Harbor and Kristallnacht, just to be safe. Social media are teeming with similar hyperbole treason, traitor, etc. and not just from anonymous trolls.

Defenders of this hyperbole often claim theyre not making an exact equivalence to the lives lost but rather speaking to the intent of all those attackers. All such attacks, they say, are intended to destabilize our democracy.

Well, yes. But one aspect of similarity doesnt make the events comparable. Itd be like saying Irans spying on the US which resulted in our military technology being sold to China was comparable to 9/11 because both sets of attackers intended to harm our democracy. If this were so, itd be treasonous to make peace with these nations and rational to wage war.

An Israeli drone shot at a group of Gazans flying incendiary balloons into southern Israel from the northern Strip on Monday afternoon, according to Palestinian media.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that one of its aircraft targeted a terror cell launching arson devices in northern Gaza.

According to the Hamas-linked Shehab news outlet, the group was operating near the border, east of the city of Jabaliya.

There were no injuries immediately reported.

Moments later, Shehab reported that the IDF fired at two observation posts in central Gaza belonging to the Hamas terror group, which rules the Strip.

The military would not immediately confirm the report.

 The loophole which allows the South African government to confiscate 300,000 guns comes from the controversial Section 24 and Section 28 of the Firearms Control Act.

Section 24 of the Act requires that any person who seeks to renew a licence must do so 90 days before its expiry date Section 28 stipulates that if a firearm licence has been cancelled the firearm must be disposed of or forfeited to the state. A 60-day time frame was placed on its disposal, which was to be done through a dealer.

Subsequently, if gun owners did not renew their firearms licenses in a timely fashion, as prescribed by law, they must forfeit their firearms to the nearest civilian authority, namely, their nearest police station.

The law impacts primarily white people as they constitute the majority of owners of registered gun owners in the country. This is highly reminiscent of what Hitler did to the Jews, in which he first disarmed them and then slaughtered them.

Opponents to this action claim that this is definitive gun confiscation through the principle of incrementalism (ie inch by inch it is a cinch). Therefore, this is clearly a gun-grabbing move, but far worse is coming.

When one considers the present political climate, characterized by passive governmental sanctioned mass murder of white South African farmers, one must conclude that far worse is on the horizon. And as the readers will see, the problem is not just confined to South Africa.

Es una instancia en la que Sala claramente va a estar en desventaja frente a la acusacin, por que el tribunal la priv de elementos fundamentales para defenderse.

Desde que Sala fue detenida, estas tres causas unificadas por las cuales se la va a juzgar desde el martes son las que la acusan de delitos ms graves. Por qu critican cmo se conform esa acusacin?

Estas tres unificadas son eslabones que se suman al hostigamiento institucional que sufrieron Sala y la Tupac desde que cambi el gobierno en Jujuy. Es imposible separarlas del todo y no ver completo el accionar en su contra. Hay una persecucin en su contra y en contra de la accin que su organizacin llev adelante sada en procedimientos que tienen muy serias irregularidades. Este juicio s es uno de los que reviste una imputacin sobre hechos que tienen calificacin ms grave que los que ya haban llegado a instancia oral. La causa de los huevos (que la acus de escrachar a Morales) como la denominada causa de las bomchas (que la acus de atacar a una comisara) conforman delitos relativamente leves. Este caso tiene importancia porque es sobre el que se orden la prisin preventiva de Milagro luego del acampe en la Plaza Belgrano. The Pragmatic Deconstruction of the Temporal Single System Interpretation "IndyWatch Feed War"

Introduction

There are internal inconsistencies; i.e., contradictions, with the Temporal-Single-System-Interpretation (TSSI), pertaining to its claims of having rectified the logical contradictions within Marxs Capital, concerning the law of value. This paper will not be going extensively into what the Temporal-Single-System-Interpretation is reacting against, namely, the charge against Marx of internal inconsistencies, which, for over one-hundred years, have hung over Marxs work like a dark foreboding cloud. Instead, this paper will be presenting the internal consistencies of the Temporal-Single-System-Interpretation, itself, in relation to Marxs work, which by association also presents the internal consistencies within Marxs own analysis. In sum, TSSIs demonstrations have not succeeded in refuting the century old proof of Marxs logical inconsistencies because TSSI passes over in silence many of the contradictory claims Marx made about the characteristics of the law of value. Dmitriev, Okishio, Bohm-Bawerk and Bortkiewicz may have faltered in fully outlining the inconsistencies in Marxs Capital; nevertheless, they were correct that Marxs analysis; i.e., law of value, is riddled with irreparable, internal-logical inconsistencies.

Foremost, the TSSI imposes unto Marxs analysis a framework that is just not there in Marxs work. In actuality, TSSI has simply side-stepped certain Marxist premises over others; i.e., picked certain premises over others, which are contradictory, so as to arbitrarily construct a truncated Marxist interpretation, which can enable TSSI to dubiously claim that it is the only interpretation able to rescue Marxs labor theory of value from its century old prison term, the damning sentence of internal-logical-inconsistency. In fact, to believe TSSI one would have to live in a perpetual state of suspension of disbelief, to pass over in silence the many internal contradictions emanating from Marxs own statements, concerning the law of value. Specifically, having an interpretation that forgoes some of Marxs premises for others does not remove the claim of internal inconsistency. One can find the Bible internally consistent as well if one chooses to pass over certain contradictory passages and premises. The bible, or any other text, will as well make sense, and seem logically plausible if one refuses to acknowledge, or deal with, the conflictual premises and statements within a text. Contrary to Kliman, when one interpretation makes a text make sense does not make it more plausible, or more correct when the particular interpretation abandons core premises and statements the text makes in favor of more sympathetic premises and statements. When this sort of thing happens, we have left the solid ground of reason and are in the mystical clouds of ideology and theoretical fetishism.

Two weeks after the Chequers cabinet meeting, Theresa Mays Brexit strategy is mired in confusion. In few areas does it seem quite as muddled as the governments planning for a No Deal outcome.

On the one hand, hard Brexiters in Mrs Mays cabinet believe it is vital for the government to advertise what kind of plans it is drawing up for No Deal, so as to put pressure on the EU in the Brexit negotiations.

Their argument is that Britains threat to walk away from the talks will appear far more convincing to Brussels if the UK is seen to have prepared for such an eventuality.

On the other hand, ministers know they run a risk if they advertise the details of their No Deal plans too much. After all, the more the public gets to see some of the detail such as the need to safeguard the supply of food and medicines; or the need to close off whole motorways the more alarming such a scenario looks.

That, in turn, risks making the idea of a No Deal outcome look literally incredible.

This inherent contradiction in the governments approach to No Deal was evident on Sunday, when Brexit minister Dominic Raab appeared on the BBCs The Andrew Marr Show.

Mr Raab was asked whether the government was planning to stockpile food for a No Deal eventuality, but he gave no clear answer.

That kind of selective snippet that makes it into the media I think is . . . unhelpful, he said.

Instead, Mr Raab offered another vague response to what No Deal would mean. Im confident . . . we will have the planning in place, the preparation in place, the operational matters in place, from the infrastructure to the planning laws, to deal with that.

Segn expertos han comentado que sera muy mal negocio  vender el avin presidencial, como lo haba dicho el electo Andrs Manuel  Lpez Obrador, el cual fue una de sus promesas dentro de su campaa poltica.

A si pues se dice que el avin presidencial se ha devaluado,  ya que se compr el ao 2012 por 218.7 millones de dlares, a lo que bien equivaldra a 2 mil  952.4 millones de pesos.  A conocimiento de compradores y vendedores de aviones, esta aeronave sali de fbrica en el 2009 del cual tiene una devaluacin entre el 5% y 8% cada ao por lo cual su valor se vera comprometi a  tener un costo de 120.2 millones en el mercado privado.

Adems se tiene  que tener en cuenta que este avin fue equipado para uso del gobierno, con lo cual el equipamiento que tiene no es factible para pertenecer a una lnea comercial. Por lo tanto perdera en 30% de su valor original.

A si pues si  se planea venderlo a una aerolnea comercial en enero del 2019 que es cuando Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador a sumira su cargo como presidente de Mxico, el valor que se le podra poner para la compra del avin seria 81.6 millones de dlares es decir que un 37% de lo que se pag por l, por lo cual dara una prdida de 137 millones.

Dentro de las observaciones econmicas por la depreciacin del avin comercial, los expertos consideran que se debe hacer anlisis sobre los costos y benficos que dara utilizar vuelos comerciales en vez de tener las flotillas presidenciales.

El Director del instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Jurdico Aeronuticas Pablo Casas Liras, ha comentado que de utilizar un avin comercial para el presidente podran en riesgo logsticamente la seguridad. Ya que se le diaria prioridad al presidente para aterrizar, por seguridad nacional, y se tendra que hacer nuevas medidas de seguridad.

Mobile internet speeds are blazing fast these days thanks to 4G LTE, and they are about to get even faster with the impending roll-out of 5G. Not all carriers are created equally, however. In a new study by Ookla -- of Speedtest.net fame -- it is discovered that T-Mobile offers the fastest mobile internet overall in the USA. As you can expect, Sprint is dead last.

Ookla didn't just rank carriers, but cities too. After all, speed can vary by location since performance can be impacted by number of towers, terrain, and other factors. Shockingly, the overall fastest city in the USA is not New York or Los Angeles, but Minneapolis -- located in the cold state of Minnesota.

"While you may expect a bustling coastal city or carrier's headquarters to take first prize for fastest city out of the 100 studied (by population), it was Minneapolis that was awarded the title thanks to having the fastest mean download speed over mobile. This year, the twin cities edged out Fort Wayne to take the number one and two spots, followed by San Francisco and Irvine surpassing Atlanta and Pittsburg in the fourth and fifth place spots,"says Ookla.

As his hours-long cross-examination continued on Monday, Wa Lone repeatedly stated that the reporters were framed by police who handed them papers without asking minutes before they were arrested on Dec. 12.

Lead prosecutor Kyaw Min Aung questioned Wa Lone about the documents, asking whether the reporter believed their contents could be damaging to the state if given to insurgents, and why he was arrested with the documents.

Wa Lone said he had not reviewed the documents properly before he was arrested, so could not speak about their contents. He repeatedly said he had not violated Myanmar media law.

The documents found in my hands were given by Police Lance Corporal Naing Lin to set us up and arrest us, Wa Lone told the court.

Naing Lin testified during pre-trial hearings that he met the reporters at a restaurant on Dec. 12, but said that he did not hand them anything. Wa Lone told the court on Monday that Naing Lin had given false testimony.

But my real concern is that it would change British public attitudes to Europe for a generation and it would lead to a fissure in relations which would be highly damaging for that great partnership that weve had for so many years, that has been so important in sustaining the international order.

Maas insisted Germany too had an interest in maintaining the closest ties possible with Britain post-Brexit, while stressing that only the European Commission had the power to negotiate the terms.

Ive run into this circular argument often; its painfully in common in Libertarian circles. Its the idea that being rich is proof of ones superiority.

The image of the world as an arena of cut-throat competition is seductive. Any trust-fund aristocrat can chuckle about the unpitying law of the jungle and feel like a raw, scrappy survivor. At this point, the richest 1 percent of the American population controls roughly double the wealth in this country that the bottom 90 percent of the population does. If this nations staggering economic inequality is just an example of natural selection, then our dysfunctional distribution of wealth is simply proof that all is right with the world. The myth of economic Darwinism justifies the gutting of the American middle class even as its espoused by a GOP that claims not to believe in Darwinism itself.

The article mainly talks about the many alternatives to natural selection, and about how selection can be destructive, not always a benefit. It doesnt follow up on the most obvious counter to the trust-fund aristocrats argument. Does anyone really believe the extremely rich earned their wealth? Is Jeff Bezos actually superior, with greater intelligence and cunning and discipline, than everyone else in the country? It should be clear that while yes, it does require ability to follow through and become a billionaire, these people are beneficiaries of luck, as well, and that theyve followed a path that gives them rewards grossly disproportionate to their actual talents.

Its also the case that if you look into the history of social darwinists, the people who most strongly promoted this idea, they tend to be terrible, awful, bigoted people. Social darwinism also predated the actual development of evolutionary theory, and was in many ways contradicted by observation, so as the article explains, too often we see pseudoscience presented as factual science simply by sticking the words evolution or Darwin on it.

Breakpoints Are Now Builtins

Anyone who has used the pdb (Python debugger) knows how powerful it is. It gives you the ability to pause the execution of your script, allowing you to manually roam around the internals of the program and step over individual lines.

But, up until now, it required some setup when writing a program. Sure, it takes practically no time at all for you to import pdb and set_trace(), but its not on the same level of convenience as chucking in a quick debug print() or log. As of Python 3.7, breakpoint() is a built-in, making it super easy to drop into a debugger anytime you like. Its also worth noting that the pdb is just one of many debuggers available, and you can configure which one youd like to use by setting the new PYTHONBREAKPOINT environment variable.

Following a link from a commenter on Harrys Place, (yes, thats niche. For niche people) I listened to an LBC phone-in programme, hosted by James OBrien.  Im not very familiar with LBC but I have heard the odd snippet from Iain Dale or Nick Ferraris programmes, and of course, we all know James OBrien from his abbreviated stint on Newsnight.  

I have to ask any James OBrien aficionados out there, do these broadcasts always start off with a protracted rant? Or was this one extra lengthy and extra ranty because the public couldnt be arsed to phone in? 

Anyway, our host spent what seemed like eternity expounding on a revolutionary theory hes thought long and hard about, concerning the antisemitism within the hard left; the Corbyn faction.

Making a Rondel Dagger Part 14 Covering the Scabbard "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

So whilst I am coating the dagger handle, scratching it with 600 grit paper and giving it each day a slight buff with acetone diluted linseed oil, I can continue to work on the scabbard. It will take a few weeks for the linseed oil to harden really properly, so there is no rush. However some of the works shown here were done in parallel with works already shown.

First thing to do is to properly shape the scabbard, leaving only about 1 mm thickness. Because the poplar wood that I have used is extremely soft, I was afraid to cut it for fear of taking away too much material. The most important rule in woodwork is you can always cut, but you cannot ad. So I did not use chisels or a rasp, just an 80 grit sandpaper on a padded sanding block. My sanding block is a piece of wood with old carpet glued on the faces, and I am spanning on it endless belts that I used for my now dead small belt grinder. A wine cork is an excellent spanning device, allowing for quick change of belts and giving me the option of slack belt as well. When sanding around the throat of the scabbard I took care for the throat always face downward, so no loose grains fall into the scabbard and ruin the blade.

Next thing that I have done was to soak the whole surface with hot hide glue, priming it so other materials can be glued on. After the hide glue has dried, I have covered the scabbard with linen, which I have again thoroughly soaked in hot hide glue. I do not know whether this was actually done for scabbards (although from some of the images that Caine has posted it seems plausible), but I know for sure that the technique was known from early medieval times through to the modern times. Covering wood in fabric soaked in hide glue is very effective way to prevent the wood from splitting and twisting. Firstly it adds fibers that are perpendicular to those of the wood, secondly hide glue shrinks significantly as it dries, effectively pressing everything tightly together. This is one area where real hide glue has an irrefutable advantage over any modern glue. After the hide glue has dried up, I have again sanded the whole thing with 180 grit sandpaper to smoothen all knots and irregularities in the fabric.

WASHINGTON   The tally for the Trump administrations immoral separation of families at the southern border of the United States is adding up quickly. POLITICO is reporting the cost to American taxpayers will exceed $200 million. The funds will be diverted from line items already allocated to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

According to POLITICO, the cost to house a child overnight is approximately $800 per night. Then you have to add in the cost of case managers and other support staff, which will come in at about $10 million. When you add transportation costs assocaited with children being sent to other states in the country, the cost rises even more. Simply housing more than 2,500 children separated by the Trump administration has cost more than $30 million in the past two months.

This is not a policy we should be pursuing, said Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), one of two American Indians in Congress, the Labor-HHS-Education subcommittee chairman, criticizing the administrations plan to split families at the border.

Last week, many news publications reported on a new study claiming that climate change could lead several shark species to move into UK waters.

For example, an article in the Daily Telegraph said that, as a result of climate change, dangerous sharks including great whites and oceanic white-tips could be swimming off the beaches of Cornwall within the next 30 years.

The Independent, Times, Daily Mail, Press Association, Guardian, BBC News and the i newspaper were among the outlets carrying variations of the story.

However, Carbon Brief has discovered that there was no scientific study. Instead, the news was based on the personal opinions of one shark specialist. The scientist had been approached for comment by representatives of Nat Geo Wild a network TV channel run by National Geographic who were promoting a series of programmes about sharks.

Carbon Brief has spoken to the researcher, as well as several others, to try to establish whether there is any truth to the idea that great whites could one day inhabit UK waters.

Israel Bombs 60 Gaza Targets in Just 24 Hours "IndyWatch Feed War"

Gaza (GPA) The Israeli Air Force launched aircraft at a group of Palestinians launching incendiary balloons a group Sunday evening, challenging the commitment to a ceasefire agreed upon between Israel and Hamas earlier this weekend.

A ceasefire between the resistance group and the occupying entity was brokered Saturday following this weekends heavy shelling by Israel during the 16th week of the ongoing Great Return March protests.

The occupying state also said it would open its blockade zone and expand the original fishing zone if the ceasefire was respected.  

Four Palestinians were killed Friday and 120 injured following a series of attacks by the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) near the Gaza strip border. Among those killed were Mahmoud Khalil Qishta, 23,  killed in Rafah; as well as Mohammed Riyad Farahza, 31, and Shahban Rihab Abu Khater, 26, both killed in Khan Younis.

The three were fighters with the Al-Qassam Brigades, a military wing of Hamas. A fourth Palestinian, Muhammad Badwan, 24, was shot in the chest as he was participating in protests on that same day in east Gaza City.

The attacks came following the death of an IOF soldier by a Palestinian sniper, with Israel responding via another deadly wave of aerial bombings. The IOF also bombed east of Rafah city Thursday, killing Abdul-Karim Radwan, 38, and injuring three others from shrapnel.

As I mentioned before, the camp site used to be a piece of farming land, and they still keep some animals that reflect the places history. It has a public meadow where visitors can see them and a private meadow where the animals can go if they want their privacy. We were lucky to be next to the private part. The management offers you to switch places if you dont like the animal noises, but I quite enjoyed the chickens (no rooster, though), the sound of the goats  and the occasional braying of the donkey.

Once a week the children can enter the meadow for an hour, but it is also ok to feed them appropriate snacks through the fence.

Reuters: The Food and Drug Administration said in a statement on Sunday evening that its investigation had found that Changsheng fabricates [vaccine] production records and product inspection records, and arbitrarily changes process parameters and equipment, serious violations of the law.

Fiercepharma: Chinas drug regulator just pulled a manufacturing permit for the countrys second-largest maker of rabies vaccines over data falsification, marking the latest episode in Chinas drug safety scandal.

During an inspection, Chinas State Drug Administration found Changchun Changsheng Life Sciences forged production records for its Vero cell-based rabies vaccines. The agency immediately moved to revoke the companys GMP license tied to the vaccinejust three months after its issuanceand dispatched a team to investigate the incident on site, according to a Sunday statement

In its announcement filed to Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the Changchun, China-based company said it has started recalling all unexpired rabies vaccines, even though the batches under question werent released to the market, and it hasnt received any adverse event report related to the quality of the vaccines through years of monitoring.

Changshengs recent scandal comes eight months after a batch, or 252,600 doses, of its diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis (DTP) combo shot was found below the potency requirement. It also comes shortly after the company became one of the first two companies to get Chinese approvals for quadrivalent flu vaccines.

Besides rabies, DTP and flu vaccines, Changsheng also sells vaccines against chickenpox, hepatitis A and group ACYW meningococcal. A small proportion of its business comes from abroad, including India, Cambodia, Egypt and Belarus, among others. Its not yet clear whether it sells its rabies vaccines outside of China.

Ending Birthright Citizenship Will Make Republicans Look Like The Party Of Dred Scott "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Are Republicans ready to become the party of Dred Scott? I ask because thats what Michael Antona conservative intellectual, former Trump administration official, and fanatical supporter of the presidentadvocated in the Washington Post. Even worse, he implies that Trump should do it by executive fiat, in defiance of the Supreme Court.

This is not just intellectually and morally bankrupt. It would spell disaster for the Republican Party by making it de facto what the Democrats have long wanted it to be: the party of white peopleand only white people.

Antons op-ed is an argument for eliminating birthright citizenship, the provision from the Fourteenth Amendment (with roots going back much, much earlier) that states children born in America are automatically citizens, even if their parents were not. Antons argument against this, borrowed from a 2015 article by Edward J. Erler in National Review, is based on a blatant lie.

Anton tries to put over on us a strange parsing of the Fourteenth Amendment. The amendments very first sentence, knows as the Citizenship Clause, reads: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. The clause extends birthright citizenship to anyone born in America who is subject to the jurisdiction thereof, which raises the question: who is not subject to that jurisdiction?

The answer, I thought, was pretty obvious: diplomats and other official agents of foreign governments, who are covered by diplomatic immunity and therefore not prosecutable under U.S. laws. (Native American tribes, also, were regarded as sovereign nations subject to federal control only by treaty and not by ordinary laws.)

But Erler and Anton want to push their own idiosyncratic interpretation: that those not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States include any foreigner living in the United States. For the support of this interpretation, they summon a quote from the congressional debates over the amendment by one of its chief drafters, Sen. Jacob Howard, who said the Citizenship Clause did not apply to persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, [or] who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers.

Last week, I heard about two boring revelations.

The first is that the Shroud of Turin has finally been proven to be fake. Finally? Again. After all the dating evidence and the historical record show that it was ginned up in the 14th century, long after this story has been put to bed, people still thrash about with this crap. The new evidence isnt even that good they did a blood spatter analysis. Big whoop.

Next week, news agencies will be shocked to learn that chupacabra is a coyote with mange, because they had a vet look at an old photo.

The second oh-god-my-eyes-have-rolled-back-so-far-they-turned-inside-out story comes from a usually reputable source, the Guardian. They ran a garbage article about cell phones causing cancer, full of distortions of the scientific evidence and conspiracy theories. My god, people, there is no brain cancer epidemic. Practically everyone in the country has a mobile phone now, theyre using them constantly to the point where its a standard comedic trope about teenagers and housewives and pedestrians and commuters going through their day with phones clamped to their faces, a gigantic shift in human behavior and reliance on these devices that occurred in only about a decade, and youd think that if they were causally linked to any kind of cancer thered be a corresponding surge readily detectable in the epidemiological data. There isnt. This is a causal agent with people casting about absurdly looking for a problem it might be causing, and not finding one. So they invent an epidemic.

Fortunately, David Robert Grimes comes through with a rebuttal to the Guardian bullshit (hes very polite. He doesnt use the word bullshit or even anything poetically analogous.) He goes through all the basic, obvious evidence cell phone radiation is low energy, non-ionizing, and multiple papers have shown a lack of correlation between cell phone use and glioma and shows how the authors distorted in a dishonest way (he doesnt even call them liars!) the conclusions of major research studies.

There are signs hes losing patience with them, though.

The authors conclude by stating a lack of definitive proof that a technology is harmful does not mean the technology is safe, yet the wireless industry has succeeded in selling this logical fallacy to the world. LimeTorrents, which is one of the ten most-visited torrent sites on the internet, has changed its domain name and updated its homepage in response to several blocking efforts. By doing this, the site is hoping not only to bypass ISP (Internet Service Provider) blockades for the time being, but also counter a Google ban.

For those unaware, LimeTorrents is a torrent website that was founded in 2009. It has grown in popularity and has managed to gather a huge fan following after the departure of big bosses like Kickass Torrents, The Pirate Bay and Torrentz. LimeTorrent has a huge library of online content, which includes verified torrents downloads like movies, games, music, anime, TV shows, software absolutely for free.

Nevertheless, the site has also been in troubled waters over the years for being the main source of pirated content. For instance, its servers were seized by music group IFPI during its early days. Further, a few years later, the sites operator got pulled into a lawsuit by Lionsgate over the Expendables 3 leak. Despite all these, the site is fighting hard to stay alive; however, the ISP blockades is not making it easy for them.

Therefore, as a direct response to the ISP blocking efforts worldwide, LimeTorrents switched to a new domain, limetorrents.io, with a new homepage last week. Additionally, the new domain should also get the sites homepage back in Googles search index.

We changed our domain to .io because [the site is] blocked in many countries like India, UK, Australia, and also because our old homepage was removed from Googles search index, LimeTorrents operator told TorrentFreak.

With this new look and domain, LimeTorrent is looking to stand apart from several fake LimeTorrents that have appeared online who are trying to steal traffic and generate revenue for themselves, the operator told TorrentFreak.

Protest Song Of The Week: Indians Never Die by Black Belt Eagle Scout "IndyWatch Feed Politics.us"

Black Belt Eagle Scout is the moniker for Portland-based singer-songwriter Katherine Paul. On the Bandcamp page for her upcoming debut album, Mother of My Children, Paul describes herself as a radical indigenous queer feminist.

Concerning the album which is due out on September 14, 2018, Paul says the tunes are about grief and love for people but also about being a native person in what is the United States today.

Her experiences growing up in the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community clearly influenced her music.

One of the songs on the upcoming album, which is deeply rooted in the Native American experience, is Indians Never Die. It was previously released in 2017.

The poignant tune addresses colonizers who disrespect the planet. Paul composed the song as a response to the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline, which adversely affected the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. However, the tune may apply to any project that violates sacred land and has a detrimental environmental impact.

Our treaty rights werent being honored, Paul declared. Imagine hearing on the news that the government doesnt support you as a human being and never has. They dont care about the water, they dont care about how they are destroying what is around them. Indigenous people are the protectors of this land.

Indians never die because this is our land that we will forever protect in the present and the afterlife, Paul added.

The haunting song asks the important question, Do you ever notice whats around you?

Corporate greed causes humans to overlook the obvious long-term damage for short-term gains. Thankfully voices like Black Belt Eagle Scout are shedding a light on such poisonous colonial attitudes.

A concerning study published in FEMS Microbiology Ecology titled, Diversity of the cultivable human gut microbiome involved in gluten metabolism: isolation of microorganisms with potential interest for coeliac disease, reveals something remarkable about the capabilities (and liabilities) of human gut bacteria (microbiome) when exposed to foods such as wheat.

Some of the extremely hard to digest proteins in wheat colloquially known as gluten (there are actually over 23,000 identified in the wheat proteome and not just one problematic protein as widely believed) were found metabolizable through a 94 strains of bacterial species isolated from the human gut (via fecal sampling).

This discovery is all the more interesting when you consider that, according to Alessio Fasano, the Medical Director for The University of Marylands Center for Celiac Research, the human genome does not possess the ability to produce enzymes capable of sufficiently breaking down gluten.

We do not have the enzymes to break it [gluten]down. It all depends upon how well our intestinal walls close after we ingest it and how our immune system reacts to it.

As you consider how best to fulfill your campaign promise to get to the bottom of 9/11, I offer you the following commentary on one specific gratuitously false aspect of the official narrative.

Cellphone Technology: All cellphone communications take place between cell towers and cellphones, whether stationary or in a state of motion. Signals received by cell towers are retransmitted via cell towers to the cellphone being called. Critical to the operation of a cellphone network are the physical properties of cell towers and cellphones. As every cellphone engineer knows, cell systems were always intended for all-terrestrial communication and not for any extended vertical communication. The accompanying map shows a partial pattern of cell tower placements in an urban area. Each pancake-shaped structure surrounding these towers represents the size and shape off the zone of receptivity. Outside the zone of a given tower, no cellphone call will reach it with any reliability. The same thing is true for vertical distances, but these are generally much shorter due to the shape of the zone.

The Airborne Experiments: Three experiments were carried out to see to what extent a cellphone calling from an aircraft might reach a cell tower. The aircraft used were a Diamond Katana ultralight aircraft, a Cessna 127-R and a Piper Twin Apache. All three experimental flights flew patterns that guaranteed coverage by a variety of cellphone makes for calls from a cellphone expert using several current makes. All calls were received by an operator at a ground station. The operator recorded the time of a call (if received at all) as well as its duration and audio quality.

The Outcomes: When data from all three flights are put together, we find a straight line regression of failure probability with altitude. It must be stressed that the messages mentioned in this summary lasted only 10 to 20 seconds. Thus the success of such calls applies only to such messages, longer messages having a much higher probability of failure. The regression analysis reveals a 100% probability of success at 1000 feet, dropping linearly to 50% at 4000 feet and a 10% probability...

Couple Takes It Upon Themselves to Turn Ocean Trash into Prosthetic Limbs for Kids That Cost Only $45 "IndyWatch Feed Economics"

Laura and Chris Moriarity have had no expertise in ocean pollution or making prosthetic limbsbut they passionately believed they could tackle both issues with one solution.

Chris and Laura are the founders of the Million Waves Project, a charity that recycles ocean plastic into 3D-printed prosthetic limbs for needy people around the world.

38-year-old Chris was struck with inspiration for the project one night back in April. Two weeks later, he and his wife had the project up and running.

Currently, the couple prepares the plastic by cutting it up by hand and feeding it into a paper shredder, and then a 3D-printer. After that, they use an app to connect with people who need prosthetics so they can design the gadget specifically to their measurements.

The cheap materials means that each prosthetic costs roughly $45, which the Moriaritys fund through donations, sponsorships, and selling keychains on the charitys website.

Since launching the initiative, they have donated 18 limbs to disabled individuals.

The Million Waves Project brings together two unacceptable global situations and offers a practical and sustainable solution, says the nonprofits website.

Chris and Laura are now working on obtaining a commercial-sized shredder so they can multiply their production ten-fold.
